Set during the 1980's and 1990's, a story unfolds about the dreams, friendships, and love of three young people.

Lee Doo-Hak (Jang Dong-Yoon) is a high school student in a provincial city. He comes from a poor family background, but he is smart and compassionate. He falls in love with Oh Jung-Shin (Seol In-A) at first sight, who is a transfer student from Seoul. Lee Doo-Hak gets involved in an unexpected case and this changes his life.

Oh Jung-Shin is always honest and confident. She is brave enough to fight against injustice. After transferring to her new school from Seoul, she forms a bond with Lee Doo-Hak and Choi Cheol-Woong (Choo Young-Woo).

Since Choi Cheol-Woong was a child, he and Lee Doo-Hak have been friends and also rivals. Choi Cheol-Woong is the type of person who can’t accept losing. He falls in love with transfer student Oh Jung-Shin, but she doesn’t love him.

Betty Jan 25 2025 11:52 am Jang Dong Yoon love u. Very underrated actor. This drama so good reminds me of East of Eden . Netflix need to pick up this kinda of drama instead crappy ones.

Ciepao Nov 04 2024 7:45 am With so many jump and fast-forward in timelines here in this drama, I think it is better if they made this a movie. The plot is not interesting enough to make it a 16 episode show. A lot of narcissist and annoying characters here too. The tandem of Jang Dongyoon and Seol In-A in this drama is also a meh for me. I think they look better as friends than a couple. The weird ties of the two male leads (lee doo hak and choi cheol woong ) is not good too. I find it awful. Props to kang kyunghun's acting, she's so good at acting villain here that I get annoyed everytime she talks. I don't like the OSTs too.

I give this a 3.5/10. The actings are not horrible, just the flow of the story.

These actors gave the performance their lives in this drama. Everyone brought their A game.

Jang dong Yoon never failed my expectations as I've seen him in other dramas but Choo yeong woo surprised me ngl. Another actor who caught my eye was Jin yi Han, from his calm yet menacing demeanor to his intimidating voice to his piercing eyes, he was just too good.

I give this drama a solid 8/10

Why the f does this feels like I'm watching a family drama made from decades ago... the sudden close up, the numerous cuts and settings during dialogues, the screenwritngm etc, are all very old school... These directors and writers have good ideas bit they need to update themselves to modern small screen cinema... good directors in todays kdrama industry have no longer employ such an old and cliche technique

Nik Jul 15 2023 4:09 pm Just finished it a minute ago. It's one of these dramas I have seen and I'm not really happy with the last episode. It feels like they had to put in all at once to close it at ep 16 and the last scene is what I don't really understand at all.

But beside this, I really like the actors, the good and the evil ones, they acted great :) if you start hating a character then the actor/actress really knows how to so their job. I just wished that the end would have been a little more satisfying, because the drama kept me longing for one ep after another.

It tought me a lot about this era between the 80' and 90', which is not often shown in korean dramas. The actors are all stunning, the story is amazing. Well, I love very very much!

The first few episodes set the tone for the relationships as the plot moves along from the 1970s to the 1990s. There is a lot going on: a birth secrets, a love triangle, rich versus poor, politics and gangsters--LOTS of gangsters and fight scenes and a beautiful, haunting ost. The tension builds over 15 episodes but is swiftly wrapped up in a monster single scene in the last episode so hang in there. Unusual for me, I would have loved a time-skip featuring the leads for a little more closure.

I want to mention the beautiful actress Kang Kyung-Hun who is the embodied femininity in this show. This is how should look all women. I did not account for her sly character in the drama.

Quantum Nurse Apr 26 2023 5:21 am "Oasis" is a dark/noir drama series since it is set in the era of the dictator Chun that set up a concentration camp for "purificatory education". Watching "Oasis" can be depressing since it is a noir/dark drama series that has intricate plots and gruesome story during the dictator/dark times era.

I must say I am impressed with actor Choo Young Woo's performance in "Oasis" He is only in his early 20s and is able to deliver a solid complicated and hated character Choi Cheol Woong in "Oasis". He will be the next generation great actor. Also, it is worth noted that Actor Jin Yi Han really immerses himself in his role as a villain Oh Man Ok and he lost so much weight , 11 Kgs, for his role to look more "sinister" in "Oasis (2023)". Additionally his deep resonant voice and intense different facial expressions show he is an excellent actor and is able to deliver his thorough and fine performance.

Billa Apr 24 2023 7:19 am What a great show. Well written, well acted. I came to see this because of Jang Dong Yoon and Seol In Ah but then got captivated by Choo Young Woo and Jin Yi Han. Its my first time watching their acting but they're so good. Even some people started to wish for Choi Cheol Woong death, thats how good he is, I think. Because this is melodrama, I dont think it will end happily. But I will still be glad because I can watch this very nice show.
