It was hard to watch because of the sad faces. I was married to a man who had a sad face but it was because he experienced an explosion when he was 4, which damaged cranial nerves in his face. In this case, I had to wonder, did the stress hormones of being an unwed mother cause the baby to have a flat affect? I wonder if her bandwidth for joy was just too narrow, and the struggle of the entire 16 episodes was to get past blame and shame and get to joy (for the both of them?). Her joy (Kim Eun-Joo) was the best on the black and white photo at the roll of the credits at the end. Nice red herring wondering if Mr. Yoo was the father. I am glad he wasn't. The two children of dad were trying to have joy but were defaulting to being shamed. Spoiler alert: when the mom blamed him for leaving, (and who wouldn't want to escape blaming glum faces every day of unhappy people), finally she stopped blaming him and went for the joy she hoped to find. It reminds me of Bob, who wadded up a loaf of white bread in the store and I was so mortified because his protest of bad bread was shocking. I told a friend. She said you were upset at him because you would never allow yourself to protest white bread. So was the mom mad at the son mostly because he did what she wished she could do. I think so. If you do a season two, I hope the oldest daughter wrestles with why her bandwidth for blame and scolding is so wide and her bandwidth for joy was too small. I love what the other attorney said to her. This was not about love and hate. This was about blame vs joy. He brought joy to her and so did the ceo bring joy to Eun-Hee to grow her bandwidth! Dr David Hawkins did a consciousness chart measuring this very thing. Blame and shame were around 20/1000 but Joy around 550/1000 was even higher than love is at 500/1000...p.s. Dr Jordan Peterson said there are indeed parents who dislike their kids and the advice he gives is this...don't let your kids when they are small, do something you will dislike them for later because then other people also won't like them. Raise them so they can be joyful and loved. I think epigenetics is involved. Parents do things kids don't like but the kids will inherit it. Except pictures. I guess that girl did not inherit wall hangings, I mean look at her house! Anway, pfightng...keep up the insightful work. Humanity needs more joy!!
