Junko Harumi (Kyoko Fukada) was once a model student during her middle school and high school days. She failed to enter prestigious Tokyo University and her life has not gone smoothly since then. She has a hard time finding a job and having relationships with men. Now, at the age of 31, she works as a teacher at a private institute. 3 men, who vary in type, appear in front of her. Masashi Yakumo (Kento Nagayama) is smart and a cousin of Junko, Kyohei Yuri (Ryusei Yokohama) is a disorderly high school student and Kazuma Yamashita (Tomoya Nakamura) is Kyohei ’s teacher in high school.

I Loved It So Much! I thought it would be a bit awkward considering that it's a love story between a teacher and her student. But it was delivered in an extremely wholesome and innocent manner. The way they handled their feelings were realistic and very rational.

Despite the age difference, both in series and in real life, the leads have great chemistry. I loved the trust that Yuri has for Harumi, and the confidence that she had for him.

I really got this soft spot for Masashi. They're cousins and in our country, it's certainly not acceptable. But knowing that marriage between cousins is okay in Japan, it didn't feel weird at all. Masashi's good nature was one of the best part of the story. Man, the way he helped Yuri all through out despite him being his rival was really admirable.

To sum it up, it was a nice experience. Well-acted, well-written and well-delivered. That Ryusei Guy Is An Eye-Candy! And damn, he acts so well! I cried whenever he cried and smiled whenever he smiled.

SJ Apr 24 2023 12:40 pm What I found best in series that how self-motivation and strong will-power make Yuri reach to the top.Throughtout the series, series-makers beautifuly showed up that if someone work hard and is determined, that person could acheive the anything in life. All study approaches were real.those study tips and attitude actually work in real life if you have bigger goals.Moreover, the best part was strong trust between Yuri &Harumi, and Yuri's loyality towards her.I really appreciate the entire team that performed pretty good.

KyunYoo Apr 12 2022 9:07 pm SPOILERT !! Maybe, I don't understand what "being mature" means to other people. Or I have another way of looking at that sentence. Because from what I read some comments, many think that Yuri is more mature than Masashi and Yamashita, so they like Harumi's decision to choose Yuri. However, I think Yuri is the most immature of all. It could be seen from his jealous attitude towards Masashi on their first meeting that even his relationship with Harumi as teacher and student had only just begun. Besides, when he was jealous of Yamashita, he decided not to go to school just because he didn't want to meet his teacher. From the reason he decided to take private lessons because Harumi was also a ridiculous reason. At first, He also always refuses help from Masashi or Yamashita only he thinks that he can be independent. (Aahh that's the attitude childish who feels himself strong without anyone's help) Maybe many thought he was mature, when he congratulated Masashi on his marriage to Harumi which was a misunderstanding. I think Yuri also admits that Masashi is the best for Harumi because of his figure who is always there for Harumi, and his established makes him think he will always be able to make Harumi happy. Yes, I admit that's when he became mature. But I think here the most mature is Masashi. He has even been beside Harumi at all times for 20 years without Harumi realizing his feelings. Even though he tried to express it several times, Harumi always failed to understand. For the sake of the relationship not being awkward because after all they are relatives, he can refrain himself from acting as a cousin or brother who is always there for her. Even he knows Yuri's feelings for Harumi, but he sincerely helps Yuri to pass the Todai entrance exam. We could see how happy he was when he found out that Yuri had successfully passed into Todai. I'm sure people thought he was immature when he hit Yamashita because he claimed to have spent the night with Harumi. (Hahaha..Yamashita is the one who acts like a child. Why did he say that to him, I'm sure he knows Masashi likes Harumi, that's why he said that to make him jealous. Uhhhh that's disgusting) Yamashita attitude when asking Harumi on a date also tends to be pushy. He had just submitted the divorce papers, but he had already decided to start a new relationship with Harumi. (Oooh that's ridiculous) But I admit, his decision to side with his father-in-law to help Yuri's father was mature. That's when I saw him as a teacher figure for Yuri. For the whole storyline of this drama I like it. It's just that the ending of the story is a bit forced in my opinion, because from the start I didn't see Harumi having romantic feelings for Yuri, but why at the end of the episode it was told that she actually liked him. The author describes Harumi as a woman who is inexperienced in love. She sincerely helps a student who has a dream to pass the Todai entrance exam, she put all her might to help him by placing herself as a teacher instead of a woman who supports her boyfriend. (Yes, I saw her sincerity only as a teacher not a woman) It would be better for me if at the end of the story she also rejected Yuri as her partner, because her feelings for Yuri were nothing more than her feelings for a teacher to a student. It's the same with her feelings for Masashi who is nothing more than a cousin. Instead I doubted her feelings for Yamashita, her awkward feelings when she knew Yamashita was someone who was married but still comfortably drank with him. Even when Yamashita asked her out she didn't refuse. (Is it true that Harumi doesn't have romantic feelings for Yamashita? What does the awkward feeling mean? Doesn't someone who likes each other feel awkward before starting a relationship? I don't know, maybe it's just a personal question) But still I prefer the ending of the story does not end with a romance story, it would be better if the four of them remained on good terms without any romantic relationship between them. 3 men who were rejected by the same 1 woman, but these three men are always there anytime, anywhere when this woman needs help. (Classic ending from other Japanese dramas that I used to watch. Hahaha, maybe because I'm used to endings like that, when I was given a definite ending, I wasn't ready to accept it) Overall, this drama get point 8/10 for me. (Sorry my english so bad)

He’s more mature even though he’s not perfect, he’s more experienced in life and the coolest too. By the way can anyone explain to me how Masashi is her cousin?? Are they blood cousins? Or did I miss something

Charish Aliga May 19 2019 10:59 am I really admire Junko's obliviousness. Lol. I didn't really mind if she was destined to either one of them because seriously those three guys are freakin' hot. Even Masashi. i like how Masashi is such a great guy and a very loyal lover. I like Yamashita because he has this aura and an attitude that is very admiring (at least for me). And last is Yuri-yuri, because he has the gut to like her even though he already knows where both of them stand. I especially liked hid line in episode 6; "Back off! She's mine." that was so HOT!

ayin Apr 25 2019 8:22 am This is such a feel-good and light romcom drama <3 It's been a long while since I last watched a jdrama/kdrama and this is one of the recent ones that I enjoyed and was able to finish. Sure there are loopholes in the story but what's important for me sometimes is how the drama made me feel and that all the cast were realy able to deliver ^^

Diana Apr 22 2019 11:13 pm This was such a sweet drama! I adore Junko & Yuri-Yuri the most. There's absolutely nothing wrong with the lady being older then the gentleman. I didn't mind Junko and Yamashita-Kun either but even as an adult, Yamashita had somethings to work out. Junko is his first love and he proved that actually. He experienced life and relationships and it's one of the reasons he was able to have Junko understand Yuri's love for her. I did notice something. Yamashita and Yuri exchanged words but there was no violence. Now on to Masashi, who did punch Yamashita. I understood why he did it. To me, it showed his immaturity. Overall, I didn't respect Masashi. To me, it seemed like he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth and everything he touched turned to goal. I was, however, impressed when he spoke Russian. Why do I respect Yuri-Kun? He actually had a hard life in his 17-18 years of living. Losing his mother, his father belittling and looking down on him...he was a teenager, after all. Teens will slack off in high school. Yuri showed his maturity when he spoke to Yamashita and Junko. Yes, there were times when he lost his temper (when Junko would say he was a kid and tell him what he should and should not do). He respects Junko because she gave him advice and she was always there for him, and swore she would help him as best as she could. Not to mention every time she defended him (to her colleagues and even her own mother). I would love to see Junko & Yuri-Kun married with a baby on the way that's for certain.

hotarumaruchii Mar 26 2019 3:52 am hi! friends, i'm sharing my thoughts about the series since it's already ended a week ago. overall, i'm satisfied with the final episode, the whole series in general. when i begun this, i'm having second thoughts about shipping who's who but this drama actually handled it well. rather than being a rom-com drama, it's more like a drama about people finding their ways and goals as they get older and growing through experiences. kyoko fukada with her 3 leading men ryusei yokohama, tomoya nakamura & kento nagayama are all good because they all have chemistry together most especially with ryusei yokohama. i admit that the loveline was chaotic but trust me, they handled it with care & consent about the suppose to be controversial relationship between a teacher & a student, they don't just throw that story carelessly but they did the story line with consideration without losing the sparks. also the whole cast have chemistry that they made me laughed whenever there's a comical scene. I'm going to miss them every tuesdays though.

hotarumaruchii Feb 12 2019 11:40 pm sharing my thoughts on the series; it's already on the 5th episode this week which was aired last night & so far I'm liking it ^^ the pace is neither slow nor fast & the content is about determination, perseverance, life under pressure of achieving this& that experiencing failure but also gaining will to achieve goals, of course, there's cute, sweet romance (though it could be not anyone's taste because of the problematic loveline :)) but I'm just taking it as a fictional thing so I have no problem watching it since they are not showing anything uncomfortable & the approach is more manga-like but with genuineness)

to be honest, I watch this out of the blue nor I didn't anticipate it, here I am now watching the drama on real-time every Tuesdays :)) I didn't regret stumbling upon to this because now I have something to look forward every Tuesdays. Can I also fangirl about Ryusei Yokohama & Tomoya Nakamura because they look good in this drama. Ryusei Yokohama look so ethereal with his pink hair, I have watched some of his works before but watching this drama gives a different light on him. He's not awkward in acting, his expressions are on point, I mean I can rave about him in this drama :)) And every time Kyoko Fukada is on screen, I'm like she's not aging & she's even more beautiful!

I hope they can pick up their ratings again next week since the last 2 episodes have low ratings which I question but every Tuesdays they are trending in Japan so yeah I hope the ratings will pick up again since the next eps to come is going to be interesting now that Harumi is aware of Yuri's feelings thanks to Yamashita :))
