Young-Bin (Seo Kang-Joon) is a rising star actor in South Korea. He has been best friends with Ho-Jin (Park Jeong-Min), Joon (Lee Kwang-Soo) and Geobook (Lee Dong-Hwi) since they were all children. Young-Bin belongs to a management company with Kim Eun-Gab (Cho Jin-Woong) as the CEO.

Drama series is a remake of the U.S. drama series "Entourage" that aired on HBO from 2004-2011. tvN bought publication rights in 2015.
Yim Si-Wan ('ZE:A') was offered the lead role, but declined.
First script reading took place May 28, 2016 at CJ E&M Center in Sangamdong, Seoul, South Korea.
Filming began June 1, 2016 at a club in Gangnam, Seoul, South Korea.

Ciepao Dec 27 2023 11:19 pm I watched this show without knowing anything about the story; I didn't even know that it was based on an American TV show, so my review is purely about this drama.

The first few episodes were so boring. There were a lot of random characters, and I couldn't like the main lead since I don't find them or their storyline fascinating. But in episode 5, a lot of things start getting more interesting and funny, but it does not keep up with the pace at all. There are a lot of fillers, and the chemistry between the couples in this drama is lacking. I watched this drama because of Seo Kang Joon (Cha Young Bin), but I didn't like his role that much, and I think Park Jung Min's (Lee Ho Jin) character stole the spotlight here. There are a lot of great actors, but the story is so mid that you can't even appreciate their good acting skills.

On the other side, the friendship and trust they showed in this drama were entertaining and enjoyable to watch, but nothing superb at all.

I only give this a 3.5/10. I don't think this is for everyone, and I think you will admire this story more if you are familiar with the original American show of this, but if you just watch this drama, I don't think you will have fun.

Toni Jun 29 2023 5:15 pm I started watching this show because of Lee Kwang Soo from Running Man expecting that he took the role because he’s hilarious, but I couldn’t keep my eyes open to finish the first episode. This show is absolutely boring and not enough eye candy to keep me interested especially since the storyline was a total bore ? anyway, still love LKS, but his acting isn’t as great as his variety character.

k Jan 13 2020 9:20 am decided to watch this few years ago bc of skj but ep 1 bored me immediately now i came back because i liked jungmin's acting in tazza: one eyed jack. im promoting him guys, hope you check him out. he is one of the best underrated actors in korea and i think he deserves international recognition too. his acting in keys to the heart is remarkable, hope you check that one out :)

I just finished Adolescence Medley and the range in character he can play is fantastic. I look forward to seeing him more often.

Azalea Feb 13 2017 1:31 am Couldn't agree more with you Kikikoko! Even in Heart to Heart she played her role just like that or maybe she wasn't really act? I saw her once in Running Man as a guest and her personality is not much different, a bit gloomy with a poker face. Even Yoo Jae Suk looked troubled handling her, I mean hey RM is a variety show. But well.. after all this is her 2nd drama series. So she should try more variety of roles to be a better actress. I would like to see her be more expressive in her next project.

Mariana Vazquez Jan 13 2017 12:34 am What a great drama. I loved all the characters and their chemistry. Yes Young Bin was a self centered butthole at times, but really enjoyed his acting! I had never seen such a complicated make lead character before, love it. And turtle and Yoon were hilarious together. There were so many moments where my stomach would hurt because of all the laughing I did. Hojin was also a great character, always sticking by his friend and looking out for the best for him! I just don't understand why this drama for bashed and the low ratings. But I must say I have never watched the original entourage . And Run Gab is magnificent, really enjoy watching this actor! Love love loved it.

Mel Dec 25 2016 10:46 am This show is great! I've heard that this show has low rating, but I don't understand why since the concept is refreshing. I like how the characters are portrayed so realistically, and their relationships/interactions unfold realistically, too. The friendship between the Cha Brothers, Ho Jin, and Turtle is especially heartwarming. It's as if they are real friends who take really good care of each other despite the grudges they hold now and then.

I think K-drama needs more storyline like this! I love it!

d Dec 19 2016 6:36 am young bin is an idiot but he’s a v good main character imo. everyone hates on him but i love the way he’s written… it’s realistic. all kdramas have super pure main characters who are vanilla and Do No Wrong but i appreciate the actuality of young bin.. its refreshing to have a selfish, narcissistic, somehow struggling with himself kind of character, trying to do his best here and there, sometimes in the wrong places or wrong times, trying to control everything and acting like the world revolves around him, asshole when he doesn’t get his way and getting people to always pull strings for him, being a general mess. i rlly love how they paint young bin, he’s not black or white, its nice to see him written so 3 dimensionally

rlly hope this drama has him develop in the next 2 eps past his pride and makes him finally do his part!!! i look forward to it

also i feel like entourage has low ratings bc

1) all the popular kdramas nowadays set you up for a self pity party and imagining yourself to be pure and faultless and it’s so fake lmaoo. i relate a lot to young bin, i think people are like that without realizing it to certain people in their lives. being selfish and leading others on your own whims… this drama shows you the ugly side of that and seeing that sort of flips the picture. you hate the main character and you’re like, holy shit he’s so selfish, unbelievable! but like…take a good look at yourself tho. this drama does a really good of showing that perspective

2) it’s not smth focused on romance. they started out w it to hook watchers, but it boils down to the friendships and work relationships; touches on topics most kdramas don’t, like the mention of gender roles, calling out guys for being assholes who just yell and whatnot. its slice of life genre and its rlly entertaining imo.

3) just my speculation too, but kdramas are mostly watched by girls and women…this drama focuses sort of on all age, but it’s also geared to guys and i think many guys don’t tend to watch kdrama bc of the recycled stuff they produce solely targeted to the female audience

( wish it could get higher ratings, i appreciate entourage

I love the way it showcases friendship, loyalty, betrayal, trust etc. Most people complain about its genre because it's not a typical kdrama mainstream storyline. But for me, I got hooked at the first episode. And after watching episode 14 the character that stands out by a mile will have to be PARK JUNG MIN(LEE HO JIN) . the bromance shown between him and his friends especially CHA JOON is incredible. Hope JUNG MIN gets better and better roles after this drama. He deserves it!!!!

pink_love Dec 12 2016 5:30 am I would recommend this show a try.It's not that bad really.Many hates young bin's character so it means kang jun pulled the character welll.Plus I love the combination of Kwang soo and Dong hwi because both of them throw lines to make each other funny.And also because of these two the story isn't boring.I always laughed a lot because of them.I do like the story also.So try watching it.

Idk if understand is the right term. He only has good looks (and talent, maybe) why is he acting that way damn. He doesnt even have any huge successful projects. He's not like he is in Kim soohyun or lee minho's level for himto be acting all chic and bratty. I honestly love everything about this drama except for youngbin. I get it that some people say that this is how it goes even for the original series but I hope they kind of improved youngbin's character. Because from what I know if you do a remake of somethinf it means that you are improving some of the bad sides of the original one.

But Entourage really is something. Ep 11 and 12 were so good that i can't stop smiling till now.. Kwangsoo got lot of screen time too.. Entourage fighting!

Kricketsc80 Dec 08 2016 9:31 am I loved the original Entourage and I was very skeptical about this one since it was remake of it and I was scared they were going to do it in kdrama style, which was tone this down and make it follow typical kdrama formula. Suprisingly it did not, yes it is tone down considerably which it needs to be since the original aired on HBO and most of the things that fly on that channel would never fly on Korean prime time. Yet they did keep up with the original's feel which I liked.

I can understand why some people do not like it b/c it doesn't real follow the typical Kdrama formula and plot lines which most American tv shows really don't have. American dramas get to where they are going and keep the audience understanding the plot points, sometimes those plot points take the long road to get to them, but eventually they do, Entourage really didn't have a storyline really, they had more of outline and it was follow a typical young Hollywood actor and his friends living the La La land life. I think if people watched the original they would understand this remake a lot more and notice that is how it was done. Yes the main lead is annoying and self centered but so was the original Vincent Chase and all his friends are somewhat tone down, but they are likeable and almost like their original counterparts. Except for Ari Gold (Kim Eun-Gab in this version) character which they toned down a lot in this series b/c well yeah that character would not have been allowed on Korean primetime if he was kept like the original character.

All in all I think the show is great and I enjoy it, I've even got my husband watching it with me and he HATES Kdramas, but he loved Entourage. It kind does away from typical Kdrama formula which is a nice change for once, but that is only my opinion on the matter. I will watch my other shows for the formula they usually kept, but between this a Good Wife it was a nice change to see them stay with original material, even if it is tone down a bit.

Iris Dec 07 2016 5:05 am @ tsuyoi_hikari, Siwan was never offered the lead role (Cha Young bin), it was the manager (Ho Jin's role) but he declined. At that time, Kang Jun already accepted the role of Young Bin and that's why Siwan's fans were mad that he was offered not the lead role but the one of the manager.

And Young Bin may be really annoying BUT Entourage is based on Mark Walhberg's youth, so I don't think it's the writer's fault. Though I didn't watch the original, it seems Young Bin is just like Vincent Chase.

He's been unprofessional since the first episode (refused to take/read dramas that being offered to him, bail out in the last minute after signing a movie deal, lie to the director about wanting to work with him, come late to work, cock blocked someone just because he dislike him, refused to go to a script reading because his pride got bruised & etc..). I wonder how he can be popular despite being so unprofessional as an actor. In all the 10 episodes, he didnt show any professionalism as an actor -- not even once. All his actions from the very beginning show how selfish and entitled he is. I wonder why the writer wrote him that way.

I find myself fastforwading his scenes lol -- seeing his face annoyed me. If its not because of Jo Jinwoong, I would have abandoned this drama. The thing that made me mad about this whole thing is that how he is taking all the blame and sheltered Youngbin from all the backlash. I hope Youngbin career totally go down the drain that he need to move out from his luxury apartment. Then he will know not even his face can save him this time.

But what is the main story??? Is it about love? work? friendship? I don't get it interesting. Kangjun is good looking and others are great actors and actresses but it won't work if the story isn't interesting at all. Will be waiting for more episode. Hope great scenes forward.

I mean, come on, i know it's about the celeb's lifestyle, but what about it? Bratty attitude? Extravagant lifestyle? So what? I don't get the main focus of the story. If it's only to portray the lifestyle than the writers aren't going deep enough.. the plot (from my observation on 10 eps) is so shallow it's not even interesting. We all know how bad celeb's attitude can be (unless you have an unrealistic-delusional-opinions towards certain celebs which you idolized) so it doesn't seem very interesting to make it into a drama ??

What surprises me more is kwang soo's acting. His acting feels forced and not genuine.. too bad because I enjoyed his previous drama/film

Did you watch Ballers while desperately wondering whether Dwayne Johnson will ever get his license back? Come on, did you really watch those shows because of the main plot? You could easily guess what's gonna happen next or maybe even forget about it. In those shows, some trouble just resolved by itself in the next episode or next season without even showing us the process & the drama. It's the theme & the settings that really matter & made them big.

I would be more surprised if most people who liked the original Entourage like this Korean version. This drama is just another bootlegged version of the original ones, just like The Good Wife. This drama is toned down a lot.

It's funny but not really ha-ha funny. The romance? Puh-lease. How about "bromance"? It's there but so far, it's not that intense, I'd say it's on the backseat. So, what's the point of watching it unless you're a fan of one of the cast? I wrote my previous comment because I want to see more of this show. They got to show us Korean "fancy pop culture & lifestyle" (not the real ones of course, it's totally idealized), just like LA in Entourage and Miami in Ballers. We also got to see some cameos. Just think of it as a variety show. Perhaps some people would listen and this drama would get its 2nd season. Blame me for trying.

If you like it for what it is, fine, but don't act like majority of people trying to stick with it just don't "get it" while you do. It's just incredibly condescending. Young-Bin is surely annoying up until episode 10 but I see it as the main plot of this drama. The main appeal of this drama is obviously the celebrity life in Korea. The glamour & expensive life lived by Young-Bin and his entourage. So, they need a main plot as an excuse to show us the daily life of our 5 main characters. If they didn't do that then you can't call this a drama, it's "Keeping Up with The Kardashians".

So, stop complaining, you're focusing on the wrong direction. It's not all about the Young-Bin's bratty attitude that makes Eun-Gap suffers. It's also about their daily life, friendships, bromance, and lifestyle. You're missing the fancy houses & apartments, fancy clothing stores, fancy male hobbies & pop culture, fancy restaurants & bars, a music festival & a fashion show, etc. If those stuff don't matter then what's the point in showing those places & events in camera.

cussonsbaby Dec 03 2016 6:21 am I like shows that give me relaxed & slow ambiance. This drama is obviously just so-so with the romance & humor aspect. If you want to enjoy this drama then just don't take it seriously. Just relax and watch it. It's light & colorful. This is the equivalent of slice of life anime. If you're familiar with it then obviously you'd know that some people just can't stand the slice of life genre. Personally, I'd say this drama is doing pretty good.

Her past dramas were better, like heart to heart she has a cheerful character in there, I dont like her to have many kiss scenes even if it's seo kang joon. It's the same thing when I tried to watch Heir. Maybe it's just slow in the first episode (like what most fans of Heir said), but for me, if the first episode had turned me off, it's hard for me to continue watching *sigh*.

I just think that her character would be more convincing if played by a more popular actress that rejecting Youngbin would still feel right for us viewers. This is no typical kdrama so I can understand others don't like it. I just hope they don't badmouth this if they haven't really watch this. So far I like watching Entourage. I'm loving Youngbin more every ep. It's also good seeing ho jin and turtle! fighting!

So nice not to have a bunch of controlling mother in laws and bossy wives all over the screen. This is amazingly funny and less trashy like the US version. Auntie in US loving this and the chemistry of the guy friends is off the charts cool. This is great from a female perspective to see guys interact so natural and close bonds without being romantically involved. Fighting boys!!!

i hope they are true to the usa version and try not to change much in the korean version.

AR Nov 04 2016 1:41 pm Let me get this straight. Young-bin (Kang Joon) is Vincent and Cha Joon (Kwangsoo) is Drama. Vincent is easy to play, so I think Kang Joon can pull it off. But Drama character is unique. With how Kwangsoo's image in my head, I am skeptical about his portrayal unless they recreate a new image for that character. Still gonna watch it for Kwangsoo tho.
