- Takes over the KBS2 Wed. & Thur. 22:00 time slot previously occupied by "Queen of Mystery" and followed by "Manhole" on August 9, 2017.
- Based on a true story. Lady Shin married Prince Jinsung in 1499. In 1506, Prince Jinsung became the King and Lady Shin became the Queen, but, 7 days later, she was removed from her position and expelled from the palace.
- Lee Jin-Uk was first offered the lead male role, but declined.
- "Seven Day Queen" marks the third time Park Min-Young has worked with director Lee Jung-Sub. They previously worked together in KBS2 drama series “Glory Jane” and KBS2 drama series “Healer.”
- First script reading took place April 7, 2017 at KBS Broadcasting Station in Yeouido, South Korea.
