Ki Moo-Hyeok (Yun Kyun-Sang) is a lawyer with a high winning rate. He only cares about money. Due to a murder case at a high school which he deals with, his reputation as a lawyer hits rock bottom. In order to regain his good name as a lawyer, he sneaks into the high school and begins to work as a temporary teacher. He tries to reveal a secret which the students have. In so doing, Ki Moo-Hyeok gets involved with Teacher Ha So-Hyun (Keum Sae-Rok). She is P.E. teacher who loves her students. Ki Moo-Hyeok and Ha So-Hyun then face the students' secret.

Better late than Sep 29 2025 1:23 am Loved the drama so much, characters have to follow directors and writers of the story, however the females has poker face and they did very well considering their role that was given to them, if they over acted then it wouldn’t fit in. I love Mr Gi, saw him in a lot of his awards dramas, The Throne, doctors, Hong Gil Dong, and etc., very versatile actor. I figured out the ending, who killed Beom Jin, made sense. Thank you cast you did great, and all staff, director for your hard work. We applaud you all.

anri Jul 09 2024 9:43 pm wow didn't expect this drama to be so good! i'm not familiar with most of the main characters so i was actually not expecting anything but this drama is such a hidden gem.

this is my first drama of yun kyunsang and he slayed this role so im definitely gonna check out his other projects. ms. ha is such an annoying character, she's too naive about how her students really are. acting was so boring that she drains me out so much i had to skip most of her parts.

for the four bullies, all of them are evil but taera doesn't deserve that ending. i actually feel really bad for her, gijoon had a character development but still hate him for everything he did to suah. yeri, i know she missed her bff so bad even though she was one of the people who stabbed her in the back. and lastly, beomjin (i felt really bad because lee junyoung is one of my fave actors) even though he played such an evil character, i also felt bad with what happened to him. he had so much potential but was all ruined because of his father and to keep his image clean.

love mr. thimble, he made the show funny and light. hate that old woman who was the right hand of lee taeseok like her voice is so pitchy its so annoying.

anyways, this is a good drama! 8/10 for me

Is it Han soo to make revenge for Soo A? Is it Joon jae? Byung ho or Tae ra's mom? This is a must to watch. Mid students privelege with twisted minds.

They're supposed to be protagonist, but they keep getting in the way of the male lead, not helping at all, haha. Both the female teacher and the female prosecutor are too stiff, feel that they're the most righteous, but too naive. They should've been smarter and more quick-witted. But overall, the drama is great and fun to watch.

Currently at episode 7, normally I don't write review unless I've already finished the series or stopped watching it at all (such as if I can no longer take the story) - so far it's neither, but I wanted to comment here because I felt the need to vent my irritation on the women of this series, from the teachers (especially the lead female teacher) to the students (which only showed that they are great actors as they were able to irritate me while watching them act high and mighty) to the prosecutor (really hate her - not sure after episode 7 if I'd still hate her but whenever she's on the frame I wanted to fast forward the scenes). The difference between these women, the teacher and prosecutor are supposed to be good but I really wanted them written off the script, unlike the 2 antagonist girls who are really supposed to be hateful. I just really like the story and I like the male lead, he's really good as well as his sidekick. The only female I like here was the male lead's former secretary who's been helping him investigate - she's one helav'a loyal former secretary, I salute her! Lol!

Bananana Feb 10 2021 11:09 am Started watching this drama without much expectation but it turned out to be so good and well-made drama! Plots are getting interesting episode by episode! The storyline are pretty strong too if you kept watching till the end, you can see how the lines are actually connected. Most importantly, the plots aren't slow-paced (i just hate crime-mystery dramas that are very slow)

The story line is a bit simple as well as the flow. But because of the cast good acting, i watch the whole story although i already know what will happen next.

I hope the cast will be given a good story line next time. They all deserve it. The story has too much potential but the story line is a bit predictable.

The actors are also very good and express their emotions perfectly. The episodes are all exciting and professionally filmed. Highly recommend.

I have been watching a lot of thriller-crime related drama, but I somehow think that the one that order Beomjin to be killed was Taera's mother. Overall, the plot is good. Ki-hoon acting is good, he's facial expressions are superb. I hope he get get recognize someday.

But it's bothering me that they didn't continue the school case (special service for VIP students), and who killed beomjin. It's disappointing to see beomjin died instead of going to jail to pay his sin. I hope there is season 2 so they can explain more about it (also maybe justice for taera's death)

iuloove Oct 20 2020 2:01 pm The drama itself is good. But i cant help but to comment on Ms. Ha’s (Keum Sae-Rok) actor. Like seriously, her facial expressions are alllllllll the same. No emotion at all! Whether she’s sad, angry, surprised etc. its allllll the same. And its annoying to watch her! The other minor characters have more emotion than her! They should choose a different actor Ms. Ha’s character.

Haikamil Aug 09 2020 3:32 am Having my withdrawal from The Thief, I badly miss YGS... I kinda hesitant at first bacause it's a school themed drama then its about bullying, soo cliché. Damn right, I hate the first episodes. But man this is a Gem! It kept me thinking the whole time... The storyline was very good and balance. Sure there were questionable scenes of course. Great performance from the cast! Funny scenes makes the story a little bit lighter. Lee Soon Won was on point! ? That Park Bo Gum scene... ? Well, I hope there was a clue who killed the Culprit though... Overall, I highly recommend this drama! Fist bump for the whole Class of Lies Team! It is soooo way under rated!

jan Jul 22 2020 4:05 am best drama! every episode is full of twists and you keep wondering who the murderer is... beomjin's character is so Annoying and manipulative i'm so glad he went down in the end (Literally!). han taera's death is the most pitiful after jung soo ah because she died by her lover's hands. she trusted beomjin so much but too bad, she is blinded by love to see how crazy he is.

and can i just give a shoutout to my precious lee kihoon :( he's so adorable. his character is not evil, if you think about it. he is just a boy so deeply in love with jung soo ah that he went the wrong way to love her. he didn't once hurt anyone and just went all the way to find the Truth about the murder. ugh i just love him so much :( i just hope he gets more roles in future dramas soon.

b Jun 18 2020 10:24 am SPOILER ... one of the best dramas of 2019 for me, and the best school drama. i love how every episode is intense and every preview makes me excited. i also love how it's not only the students you suspect to be the killer but also their parents. yoon gyun sang's acting is so good, especially his transition from a cold and sharp lawyer to an annoyingly easygoing teacher. the students especially the four main ones are messed up and have each their own filth, but for me, they grew up like that because of their parents. action genre suits keum sae rok better for me, but she still did a great job. im so sad about han tae ra's ending although it wouldnt make sense if she still lived after having to be the witness against yu beom jin... a season 2 would be good if the writer manages to find a plothole, so that yu beom jin's ending may be clarified.

Ye ri will not debut anymore but because of what happened to Tae Ra she might realized her mistakes.

For everyone who is asking what happened to Beom Jin or why they didn't show what happen to him after he collapsed , it is obvious that he died because a mysterious guy injected a syringe on his neck. And that is the big question to the viewers. Who is the guy? I think tae ra's mom ordered someone to kill Beom Jin, coz she already knew that her daughter didn't commit suicide that beom jin killed tae ra.

Lola Jan 27 2020 9:11 pm Just finished watching it last night. Well many people thought SKY Castle is crazy intense but I personally think that Class Of Lies is even crazier. It has similar theme with SKY Castle but the difference is that this drama is a thriller drama (understandable since it is an OCN drama, the best Korean cable channel for this type of genre). The fact that a 19-years old high school student who was known as a model student actually a psychopath killer is terrifying. He went around doing a horrible crimes but disguised himself perfectly as the hero among his peers. Anyway, props to Yoon Kyun Sang for playing his role perfectly. His acting has always been top-notch that it amazes me how he doesn't win a single acting award for his acting skills. (He was robbed hard in 2017 when he won nothing with his role in drama Rebel)

Jun is the reason why I watched this drama, I couldn't stop replaying his scene that why it took me months to finish this'the drama. I love what dramas he picks. And I love his character so much. Plus his acting is impressive. Did you know he learned law and presented to be left handed just for Beomjin character? .

The plot was already predictable, no need to waste time. Lol. It's not draggy, though. Every episode has its own excitement that will get you hooked.

Well the main cast is excelent. No more words to use. They are sunbaes. Lee Soon Woon ahjussi is so hilarious. I still remembered his police ID named " Park Bo Geom " to cover the cctv issue. Guys watch this and you'll not regret. 9.5/10 rating for all the drama. ???

Maria Sep 13 2019 4:13 am I never finished ocn drama because i think its too dark and i cant get the ideas but this one is an exceptional. It is really great and give me some thrill when I watch it. Great ideas and interesting plot twist. I can hate everyone except broadcasting girl and park won suk. Both of them are wonderful that not get me in the nerve. Everyone must watch this because you wont regret it. It has similar vibe with sky castle but not funny as sky castle. Overall its great and unpredictable

So I just finished this drama and was satisfied with it . It was awesome and not even a single min was boring . About the ending ,it is open ended as we don't even know whether jun is dead or not .I guess we all need a season 2. Most probably I think byung ho is the killer as I just get some dark vibes from him . Anyways loved the series and the acting was really top notch.

I loved everything about it, it's smart and it makes you think while watching every episode, plus the cast the cast y'all!!!! The cast is just wonderful... well chosen actors I was seriously amazed (Lee Junyoung please ISTG I was scared) anyway I've seen a lot of people complaining about the ending but I could understand why they chose that kind of ending

with a smart character like Beom Jin's there isn't any other way to make him pay for his crimes... if you've noticed the boy could control people easily, he is waaaay smarter than his father, he planned his crimes carefully but there isn't a perfect crime and that's why he missed some things but sadly they couldn't catch him because the evidence is lacking! tbh all of us would have been disappointed if they let him wander around freely! he did too much and he had to pay for it somehow and this was the only possible way? there is another point that maybe (hopefully) OCN is planning Class Of Lies season 2 : OCN did it before for example Voice (check it out it's a goooood drama) plus we would never know who ****** Yu Beom Jin and there are some things in the drama that weren't clear...

anyway I really really really love this drama, Junyoung sweetheart you did a great job please everyone give actor Lee Junyoung(idol Jun) a lot of love and support♥♥ Gyunsang, Saerok, Kyujin and every single one there you did well thank you for working hard

Laura Sep 07 2019 2:21 pm Totally worthy to watch ,not a single moment to skip.I started watching it for Kyun-sang oppa,he is one of my favorite actors,his handsome ,manly features with his sarcasm ,its totally fit as lawyer GI.But plot got addicted me to this drama.All young actors were awesome specially that psycho 4 kids.I think Jun should get an award for his great acting .

Yoon Kyun Sang has been my #1 favorite actor for years, here once again he proves himself. I also thank OCN for providing his fans with so many great stills of him (not just close-ups of his face) during this drama.

Personally, I don't really want to know who killed Yoo Beom jin. Especially, if it was Kim Han Soo (makes the most sense), because then it makes all of Attorney Ki's and Ha So Hyun's efforts to get him acquitted worthless. I choose to believe it was Na Ye Ri (although it did look like a guy in the black hoodie), but it also makes sense for it to have been Lee Ki Hoon, An Byung Ho or any one of other students who could have felt used and looked down upon by him. It also could have been someone hired by Principal Jun Young Hye. Actually, I like this last idea the best.

She is very brave when she talks about the aweful school system, but extremely weak when she has to face her students. I think a teacher must know when must act gentle, and when must strongly strick. She was also super late to realize that the school has been full of bully. And she often blame Mr.Gi (she feels that a good teacher must behave like her..ugh..) -_- Totally sick of her character.

Seo Yoon-A, her character is more suitable for being a teacher. Smart and has many initiative, also a very good observer. And the most important: wasn't rash for blaming someone or something or everything that she wasn't sure about.

In ep.14, I don't like how Kim Han-Soo behave toward Mr.Gi. But then, I more dislike how Ms.Ha respond to how annoying Kim Han-Soo was. Eventhough, maybe that was a right way to face the anger of teenager? I don't know.. Just too upset watched that scene..

But still excited with this drama and can't wait to see the last episodes.

Should just crop a picture of her and paste it on that character. No. They should use a better actress for the job. I really hate the woman teacher's acting. That teacher Ha. She's acting all caring and kind.. but stupid. Really stupid. Her methods lead to nowhere and all she did was blaming the hero's method. Duh. Other actresses and actors are amazing. YGS is on of my favorite actors! today, after watching EP 11 i feel sick a little. the story become crazy more & more, almost out of realism. the teacher (YGS) makes so many illegal things.. it almost convinced me that this is the only way to get to the truth (which of course NOT!). Additionally i have to say that i'm disappointed of how this series shows the relation between the teacher & the students. the voice of the female teacher was so weak in the story.. I really want to say - if nobody belive in those young students, no wonder thay act this way. becouse in real life the kid is shaped in the way he got educated. such a cold school with cold teachers make cold students with cold desicions like killing people and become murderer.

I expected of those teachers to bring more heart, faith and care to the school and to the series, not a bloodbath. watching this drama became to be watchinga an action series, not life lesson or humanity. that's why i stoppeed trying to learn something from this.

It's extremely well directed and well acted, but because of the subject matter, it leaves inside you a strong aftertaste of sadness and oppression. Not every viewer can handle such a strong aftertaste. I personally can't. I am certain that justice will be delivered before the end of the drama, but I would've lost all my faith in humanity by then (and I don't have much faith to begin with). However, I recognize the importance of such dramas in opening the eyes of the public to the irreparable consequences of bullying. If this helps prevent even one suicide, one tragic accident, then it's surely worth it to make such dramas.

It's no secret that high school in South korea (and japan too) are highly competitive and there are a high amount of pressure on their students. But that doesn't mean that what happens in this drama is an accurate representation of their students. It's a drama and they put that notice at the beginning for a reason: it's not based on real facts and by no means it's supposed to be supposed so. You guys are watching too many dramas lmao
