On a winter day in 1979, the four daughters gather together for the first time in quite a while. According to Takiko, she believes that their father Kotaro is having an affair and cheating on their mother Fuji. His mistress even has a child who was fathered by Kotaro. Even though it is hard for the other sisters to believe that, they promise to keep it a secret from their mother.
