Baek Chan-Mi (Choi Gang-Hee) was a legendary black agent for the NIS, but, due to her excessive work, her subordinate died and she missed catching her intended target. Baek Chan-Mi was punished for that botched case and she now works in a cyber security team for the NIS. Baek Chan-Mi is then selected to go undercover on a case involving intellectual property theft at Korea's largest company.

Nam Sung-Jin makes a cameo appearance during the epilogue of ep.13 as a security guard manager for Il Kwang Hitech. He reprimands Hwang Mi-Soon (Kim Ji-Young) for spilling water on the floor. Nam Sung-Jin and Kim Ji-Young are a married couple in real life.

Park Min May 16 2023 6:03 pm Good cast and had a decent start but there weren't enough interesting elements to keep it alive, it fell off shortly after. Not even the thriller/mystery elements were that good. Half of it was filled with nothing. Weird and out of place injection of romance especially with Ye Eun.

I feel in love with sangyeob when I watched this! I thought it is going to has second season but didn't hear any news about it ? hope to see more drama like when the women are powerful.

"Good Casting", although with a somewhat serious plot, is a parody of spy fiction, Its comedy, romance, crime mistery. I mean its blatantly doing that. They tried to get hired on a job 2 times with diferent names, yet, they are the same person, all 3, no disguise, all natural. xD The Only undercover van... is 1 that raises suspicion of everyday being in that same spot. xD Parody? Anyone get it?

This was a much better spy parody the "The Spies Who Loved me", which tried and failed so hard on being spy parody. The title itself is a nod to "007: The Spy Who loved me", and you have many references of James bond movies and personality itself, but the problem, is that they are no jokes, just references, and that doe snot make it a parody. "The Spies Who Loved Me" was bad. the writing lost its way too many times, and it started to get tiring to watch.

I love Choi Gang, since i first saw her in "Protect The Boss", and in here, in action ... i was hyped just because it was out of her ordinary acting works. And I did enjoyed it a lot, and had much fun with it. Many memorable crazy moments.

The cons, will forever bee, the freaking camera work on actions scenes. People can't enjoy action scenes if they don't see what is going on. Multiple cuts for one freaking punch. its like Liam Neeson's "Taken", where they made over 15 cuts..... and he was just climbing a fence..... A Fence!!!!! The writing, gets lost in itself at a certain point, but then clearly ignores its own "choke" mistake, and moves on. There are many clever moments (moments with no dialog, just gestures) which did confused me at first "what was that? why was that? huh?", but then i realize what was the porpoise, and... clever yes. I dont want to go to spoilers, but believe me, you might get confused at first , if so, use your brain, think hard to understand. You will get what I mean.

Overall.... its fun to watch, and I certainly had fun. I honestly felt, like i was watching a korean Dirty Pair. I felt many elements that remembered it. And I actually see dirty pair characters in a situation like this.

I just did not like the Hook Up for a second season, that might never happen. Bur... at least it did not end as cliffhanger, and more like this story is done. Nothing more to do. (there is but, like i said, "hook up")

Ch Feb 24 2021 6:31 am I want to watch this because of choi gang hee, love her in the queen of myatery, and here she did a good job too. She was fun to watch, she is not great but good imo. I think it has lots of great potential but its just all over the place. I think they miscast the lead male, they dont have that much chemistry either so i mostly dont care bout it and i found it distracting too. They just should focus on the main story.

gdik Dec 28 2020 8:16 am I watched this because of a short clip near the end of this drama, the scene where they stood up to bullies. I thought it was cool. Rating this drama id say 7/10 I had a good laugh. It wasn't that emotional so stop watching this if you want heavy drama themes. Some scenes were a bit clumsy, like them having one car in every mission, no sudden changes with hair color/length or fashion or character during diff missions. Love connections were cute, the story didnt dwell on that. It was just a light feel good theme drama. Was it predictable, a little bit. But surprisingly, i like how it made me feel good. Its a plus

Dee Jul 16 2020 5:58 am This drama is so frustrating because it had so much potential to be good. It’s funny that it’s called good casting because it did have a good cast but unfortunately they were let down by a bad script. The storylines were not fleshed out properly and with better writing and directing I truly think this drama could have been amazing and really empowering.

I enjoyed watching the three female leads but I wish we had more scenes of them bonding together as I would have liked to see their friendship develop. The drama shows its potential through witty scenes, good action scenes and a bit of comedy but that’s about as good as it gets. Seok-Ho and Chan-Mi were cute together but again, their romance was rushed in the end. There were some problematic scenes (like the show making fun of domestic violence and having grown ass women beat up high school kids) which were really disappointing.

Also, kang woo-won is quite possibly the most horrific character I have ever come across in a kdrama. Absolutely no character development whatsoever. He is a childish, manipulative spoilt brat who is borderline abusive!! Forcing a girl to like you is not cute or romantic at all. Ye-Eun was such a strong character with solid morals and she deserved so much better.

Next thing you know, they are bogged down in stupid "romance" plots that are really irritating. The character Kang Woo-Won is an out and out bully, and an aggressive angry child, yet the writer seems to think that's "cute" and that an adult woman would find that terrible behavior romantic. It's nothing that should interest a woman. The character Yoon Seok-Ho is creepily possessive of Baek Chan-Mi, which would be stifling to any normal woman. The writer seems to think that's "caring" but it's creepy. And normally for "romantic" scenes the actors should have some "chemistry" but Choi and Lee have no chemistry at all. Still - if you cut those scenes, the rest of the show is pretty good.

sylla Jun 19 2020 11:39 am !SPOILER alert! i know it's just a drama, but watching some agents so careless really frustrated me. i'm still at E08, but how can an agent forgot to turn off the phone or mute it while their going to rescue their fellow. how can they fought and pulled the driver's hair while the driver still driving. it's not fun, it's just too stupid for me.. i don't understand why so many people love this stupid drama.. being so careless for NIS agent is not fun even this is for comedy drama. it's just not make sense for me. if they want to make a comedy drama for agent life, they can make it fun from unexpected situation, not from careless behaviour.. it's just too stupid.

I liked seok ho and chan mi's love story better, it's subtle only since romance is not the main focus of Good Casting. While ye eun and woo won, ughhh the romance is forced. Really didnt like it. Overall, good casting is a good drama. If there's another season, i hope they omit woo won's character.

Fizza Jun 17 2020 10:17 am Not gonna lie, the character of woo won is so immature and annoying that i had to skip his scenes throughout the whole drama. I didn't like the romance between ye eun and woo won at all. It seemed forced and made no sense at all. Being a mother of a child, she has to be portrayed as mature and strong to a point that she should not yield to the immature and childish demands of that ignorant bastard who kept yelling at her even in front of her daughter as if the presence of a child did not matter to him. Either she had to stay a single strong mother or date a gentleman who teats her and her daughter with love and respect. She doesn't suit with that idiot nor do they have any chemistry. Working as an NIS agent, the writer should had made her character a bit strong and mature. A mother should not be portrayed as stupid and careless as her. It feels like the writer forced her character into more and more stupidity. Other than that, i really loved the whole show especially the character of the female lead which is quite splendid and i really love watching these kinds of women characters, and of course the chemistry of lead couple and the secretary was on point.

I'll be looking forward to season 2 :))))

Making Ok Cheol Michael was so underwhelming, I wish they had made him a different character or even a character that had not been introduced yet. Ok Cheol just seems like a whole loser so making him Michael makes Michael seem super dumb. If Michael were a girl, someone like bad-ass Secretary Koo, that would have been a much cooler plot twist.

Ye eun is clearly not over min seok yet and her whole purpose in the drama revolves around her getting revenge for him. she also has a child, so sis really needs to set her priorities straight!!! i thought that woo won would get some character development by the end of the drama but he is basically the same as how he was in the beginning; he’s childish and ignorant and honestly only ever cares about himself. He acts all in love and soft whenever ye eun is not around but in front of her he yells at her and belittles her. it’s not a good look for ye eun, she’s an independent and amazing lady, if she wanted she could definitely find herself a man who does not belittle her like woo won. Yes, woo won maybe be kind at heart, but the way he expresses his feelings is so UGH i’m so annoyed, i have mixed feelings because i can’t tell whether i like him or hate him. He still has so much more to learn regarding people’s feelings so i feel like ye eun should not listen to those “fluttery” feelings shes all of a sudden having in episode 14. like it legit makes no sense why she’s suddenly having feelings for this guy who treats her like garbage when she has a whole daughter, a job that requires lots of responsibility, AND an ex-fiancé to avenge

Viorees May 31 2020 5:12 pm The starting was interesting and funny but its getting bored as the plot didnt expand much. Getting annoyed with FL character. Ha Ji Won is more suitable as FL for noona roles. Too much flashback to show the love-long-lost-connection between lead actor/actress. And how can so called NIS agents were so clumsy and reckless while doing mission. Even criminals from heist movre professional than trained agents. From the plot story, the hacker is better played by male actor. But love the character or Mi Soo and the CEO and his PA. Didnt see the importance of Kang Woo Woon character but i think it is created to make second love story between sidekick couple.

Jenny May 29 2020 12:05 pm I bet to differ with everyone’s else opinion here (sorry). I think this drama is so frustrating that I’ve been thinking to drop it. I still watch it due to all of the actors that well known here. I believe in them, but:

I can’t grasp what kind of genre is this drama is. Is it romance, comedy or spy ? So far no chemistry in term of romance. In term of comedy, well maybe just not my cup of tea. It’s not comedy for me if they just endangered the mission. For spy, they are just frustrating to watch as they keep make mistake from day one. The female lead was so frustrating that never use her brain to make decision. she’s reckless. The mommy one was so clumsy and useless that it’s dissapointing. The team basically useless and never make any progress. Male lead, no story development at all at this point. Jun character was good, but it’s too much. This is halfway already but still stuck at same plot. All character are frustrating including the team leader mr dong. The romance part was highlighted too much from first episode but never develop. What’s more frustrating is that even the evil team are also clumsy and careless but the spy team cannot catch up to them. Both the evil and good team are useless that they keep playing the same games.

Pftt, I’ll give it a try for another week, if not I’ll drop it. Sorry once again.

I enjoyed a lot watching the 1st episode of good casting, never expect this drama will freaking good

Romance, action, drama, music even the poster cover reminds me of old bollywood poster, bright hand painted ones. Also the ladies just loved them and who ever thought of casting them in such character. To be honesty was just too bored of looking at women of such age group in just mom's or office characters. On the whole this series is "paisa wasool" drama ?

Ash May 11 2020 8:52 am I love the drama, quirky and funny. The heroines are less than ideal, very clumsy but more humane. I am happy watching the three actresses' combination. Very familiar with all three of them. I am also happy to see Lee Sang Yeob in a new drama.
