Park Min Jun 09 2023 8:33 pm Regarding season 1: I found it to be very flawed from all angles and it only served as a learning experience for those who carried on with the second season. Its portrayal of a cult lacked a compelling thematic foundation, opting instead to draw inspiration from cheap rip-off D-grade movies themed around cults. Where cults are extremely over-dramatized to the point of crossing the supernatural territory. The cult apparently possessed super powers of hypnosis with only a few words spoken, even towards people who weren't perceptible to religious and spiritual beliefs. Everything surrounded the cult came off as cartoonish even within the context of a 'drama'. The narrative itself struggled to carry its own weight, particularly as it primarily focused on the perspectives of the outsiders. It always felt as if it was building up towards something bigger but it never got there. For a 16-episodes run, it needed a proper world building and foundation for the cult. Establishing a distinct "character" for the cult would have provided a stronger identity. Back to the outsiders, having the drama led by teenage characters was another weak aspect of it. Bland and cardboard characters. The mystery element was a crucial part of the drama yet it was lacking and under-delivering. The first season would have fared better as a standalone one-off movie rather than a drama. It doesn't make any sense why the drama was rated this high, according to MDL standards, especially when season 2 effectively addressed most of the issues with the cult and delivered an overall better package!

Regarding Season 2: It managed to deliver a much more compelling package than season 1. The most important part is that it handled the cult theme properly. The characters and the cast were a lot more appealing than season 1. Having a more adult leading characters rather than teenager was a plus. Uhm Tae Goo was a perfect casting choice for his character. The story had a better and more natural progression than season 1. However, it got sloppier the closer it got to the ending. Speaking of the ending, it was a bit underwhelming and not as grandiose as I hoped it would be. Second season should have been a stand alone drama unrelated to the first one, not even in the name. If you don't feel like watching two seasons then you can ignore the first one and just watch the second.

E.A.D Apr 02 2023 5:32 am All the people except sang mi, sang hwan, dong cheol and friends are bad persons. Making frustated that no body can help sang mi. Woo do hwan is cool and handsome here. I just watched this on 2023. Hope Do Hwan can be the FL on the next project.

The story supported by the directing, cinematography, editing gives such a severely real feeling. But one thing that frustrate me is that I really love Taecyeon but this drama would've been even better if Sanghwan was played by someone else. I couldnt pinpoint whether the character itself is not written as well as the others or that he couldn't play it to its fullest potential.

Norik BC Oct 30 2021 9:03 pm Cho seong ha , jung hae kyun , jo Jae yun ,as top older actors were mesmerizing , I have loved all of their various roles in many other dramas , while the younger ones amazing seo yea ji ,woo doo hwan , and Vincenzo’s own taekyeon were brilliant to say the least . It will be a long list to mention all the great supporting actors in the cast but every single one in the cast shined in their given roles ,even bit parts as Ko Jun’s . BTW this is my second time watching it . Seo yea ji has to be the best ever actress to hit Korea with her mannerism and her deep voice were majestic, just over the top, Katherine Hepburn level. I can see her playing in Hollywood easily. The writing, the directing, the casting and the costumes were fantastic , bravo to all . Until next time

Elly Sep 09 2021 5:40 am @BlackBeanNoodles the word they're saying, most likely based on your comment, is "반드시 (bandeusi)" which means "must". i might be wrong though, since im not fluent or anything in korean but having watched a lot of kdramas this word is what's frequently used in a lot of them.

I enter the English phrases into a translator but pantache doesn't come up. Even though the actor would say pantache, the English translation was never the same word in the subtitles.

Deer Mar 25 2021 5:41 pm This was a good drama. It wasn't the greatest, but it was still a good drama to watch. Woo Do-Hwan is just such an amazing actor. Whatever role he plays, he always commits to 110%. For me, there was no first lead or second lead male character. This is one of those dramas that as an ensemble, the characters have a unique story to follow and be invested in. I was much invested in Dong-Cheol's story just as much I was in Sang-Hwan and Sangmi's characters. It's scary how a cult can be and what they can do to the ones we love. But everything ended on a good note. I truly believed that Sangmi character liked Dong-Cheol. There was more a connection between them. Good drama though. Even if you're not sure about this drama, just give it a go.

Lez Mar 13 2021 9:43 pm This drama is descend but could’ve been way better. Some Spoilers, I think Doug- Cheol should’ve been the main lead. He has more character development and did more for Sang-Mi, and a way better actor. He bought a lot of emotions to the story. In the first episode they seem to tease us with it so I decided to watch. But I was duped, lol. They could’ve leave out Han Sang- Hwan. His acting was blame or should I say nothing at all. I felt his story was more of a filler. It’s just bad. Maybe it’s a good thing there’s no love story cause there’s no chemistry between the main leads whatsoever! Such a waste of story

How cults brainwash n trap ppl. Great story episodes end on cliffhangers which before you know it ure on episode 16 and it's 6am lol

The cult leader made me cringe every time he came on screen and was perfect for the role.Woo Do Hwan played his part to perfection but my favourite character though miniscule was Ko Jun as Jung Koo.

The characters are amazing (especially the 4 guys and Sang Mi, plus the gangsters) One thing I don't get how people have time to even think about shipping characters, it's so depressing lmao. Overall, it's one of my favourites.

Lila-Rosa Bezel Nov 15 2020 4:12 pm The whole storyline is fine, but what makes this drama frustrating are imperfect timings and reckless attempts. It gives us, at least me, great unsatisfactory. This whole drama is not that really really frightening tho, but I agree that people who are not in their clear state of mind at the moment, are better not to watch this. If you so immersed while watching this it'd gives you the attachment feeling of frustration. Personally I binge watch 8 episodes in one day, because I don't want to emotionally attached with this drama and want to finish it asap. It just drama, and we shouldn't lose the entertaining aspects of it.

The storyline is so real, it happened as many times as we had crazy, charismatic cult leaders... From Hare Khrisna to Opus Dei to Falun Gong, Jim Jones, Joseph di Mambro n Luc Jouret, David Koresh... Baek Jungki - the cult leader - is creepy in thinking that he is a God. But Sangmi's dad is even creepier for pimping his daughter to the God of the New Heaven in exchange for Salvation. Oooff, shudder

Enjoyed in a sense that we are totally hooked with the characters and the flow of the drama. We also feel the way Sang-Mi feels. I know somewhere out there, there are some who actually experienced it, and it's sad to know that they have nothing to do about it.

There are time when there's no progress to the main character goals but I still find it contributing to the build of the whole story. I don't think there is any filler scenes/episodes, which I really appreciate. It shows they respect the story and viewers so much by doing that. It doesnt feel like im being fed by the story, but more to be immerse in the story. Characters are portrayed amazingly, including the side cast. This is more than well made.Thank you.

Even if it makes us a little frustrated and depressed along the way, thank you.

I remember when it was first released, I watched the trailer so many times to pass time just so the next week could come and I can watch the new eps. I was heavily addicted to the drama to the point I never missed a single snippet or bts making scenes released by ocn. And for me to be hooked to this drama without knowing and having watched any previous works of these actors and actresses just shows how great the drama was for me. This drama opened my eyes to such cinematography and talented acts (Especially Seo Yi-Ji and Woo Do-Hwan!!).

I have put this off a lot of times. I decided to have it a go since I frequented rom-com universe lately that which my interest failed to spark anymore, so I had to regain it through different genre. I ran through my dark-themed-watchlist, and this title found me yet again. Clicked it. Watched it. After the pilot episode ended, I squeezed my eyes and opened it wide— Godman I’ve never been so stoked and eager to further the next scenes, I had to download all the episodes fast. Then, set aside other pending dramas I have saved to focus on this. Dude! that’s how much I got intrigued. Personally, religion plot-line doesn’t sit well with me, but the casting were brilliant enough to set the story moving. I am nowhere a critic but in my belief—a promising storyline can hit pitfall with bad casting. And this one was beyond on point, the story got transcended in a different eerie level. I’ve never much convinced with actors/actresses playing relatively and intuitively to their roles, and this one is of few examples. All aspects, all in one frame, everything became raw and clear!! Save Me is worthy of binge-watch!!

P.S. I Ditched My Online Exam And Quiz Because Of This, I Shall Never Forget that time i rebelled for a bit over this hehe

Eso Apr 27 2020 8:06 pm Heavy, oppressive. Wrenches at your spirit. The entire time it feels like everything horrific in the world is raining down on you, but there's this single thread of hope winding around the characters. A distant heartbeat promising safety. This show will make you sob out of fear, grief, misery, tentative happiness, and hope. OCN never fails to bring me stories of thrilling design and with heart stopping acting. I saw that someone said Seo Ye-Ji shouldn't have been the female lead because of her facial expressions, but I think they missed the point. Her eyes were able to portray the emptiness and absolute despair she felt as it seemed all hope was lost. She looked dead inside every time it was needed and that... that made the horror and disgusting atrocities she went through seem so much more real. Because most who have experienced something such as sexual assault know that, yeah, there's anger and tears, but the worst is the desolation. And ugh, the way she speaks is perfect. The one scene where she speaks to (a hallucinated/dreamt) Sang-jin in the room after being starved and beaten is honestly heartrending. "Yeah." and "I'm going to get through this." You can hear the way her voice is pulled from inside and let out almost like gasps. And you can see the faint light of hope come back in her eyes. TaecYeon's acting was good, but not outstanding. Now Woo Do Hwan, wow. I'm a little biased because I'm a huge fan of his work, but that's for a reason. I have to say this drama even upped my respect for him. One of my favorite ways of evaluating an actor is how they do when acting that they're acting another character within a show. The inception of acting if you will. Do Hwan did amazing. Dong Cheol went from this fierce eyed "bold guy" to doe eyed "innocent but eager guy" in seconds. But still somehow maintained the character so that you weren't seeing them as two separate people. It wasn't over or under acted. I could go on about everyone, bu that would take forever.

Narrowed down; watch it! If you enjoy thrills, intrigue, action, suspense, team/family, then you will find plenty here. It's not comedic, but there are small sparkles of humor that make each episode easier to handle.

rick Jan 19 2020 1:49 am I love how they kept the love interest really minimal and kind of let the audience play around with it. It’s not your typical love drama. This might be the most traumatic thing I’ve watched and you will become very very overwhelmed. The series starts off with a bang, like everything bad you think that’s going to happen, happens. I see a lot of people making these videos promoting it like a love drama and it’s not lmao Oh God Its Not. If you like very intense, real, and dramatic plot then this one is for you. The most craziest movie roller coaster I’ve been on. You will not regret watching it, it’s worth watching. However, I really loved the strong messages from this series. There are so many things that being reminded over and over again about the real world. Even though this is just drama, this is literally reality in another shape or form that exists.

It’s supposed to be thrilling but when you just package all the bad scenes with the villains it gets so tiring to watch and deal with in the beginning. miracle Jan 17 2020 8:40 pm I’m on episode 2, just starting, and it’s already so annoying and too much to handle and comprehend. It’s one of those dramas where so many bad things happen and the characters are too weak or dumb to solve it. So yes, very frustrating to watch. But hey, that’s the sole purpose of this series. The drama showcases real stuff with dramatic plots. I just wish they didn’t shove so many bad scenarios for the protagonists because I got so annoyed.

As to other comments here about no romance--face it since the thread through this drama is sexual abuse in the guise of religion, why would the female lead even be interested in a kiss from anyone. There are just some times when romance is not appropriate.

Earlier episode the tempo of story is so slow. Ep.1-8 is just a repetition scene, when Sang Mi trying tell her father and everyone so many times about how bad Gosewon church is, and when she is trying so many times to go out of the church. It start interesting from episode 8, and the rest episode I think is a bit rush, the tempo is faster than previous episodes. Every plan their had always succeded. Like the writer just want end this drama soon. Many plothole.

momosan Aug 22 2018 2:52 am If you are still contemplating wether to watch this drama or not, give it a go! I highly recommend this drama, definitely my favorite kdrama thriller so far. Don't expect any romantic scene between the characters lol. This drama only give you a glimpse (very subtle) romantic feelings between the leads and the rest (almost everything) is thrilling (and creepy).

Definitely worth watching!

This drama was in one word, completely frigging AWESOME. It was exciting from beginning to end and I constantly found myself on the edge of my seat, wondering what was going to happen next. I loved the how everything in the cult and outside was so well woven together and how beautifully each character was built.

The villains were downright creepy, sometimes terrifying and the main leads were so completely different from each other that it was impossible to get bored. The acting was completely stellar too, especially that of Sung Mi's character.

If you're looking for romance or something light, then this is not the drama for you. But if you want something fast paced and completely thrilling, leaving you contemplating the human psyche as a whole, then you should totally watch this drama. It's different, VERY different from any other drama I've ever seen and that's what I loved about it.

Gah, I could go on forever. Absolutely loved it! DEFINITELY worth watching.

bora Jun 18 2018 12:41 pm I don't know wtf the people in the comments thought this drama was about, the start of every episode opens with "this is a thriller drama" so I don't know why half of you were expecting romance. If you're looking for romance then this drama is not it. So sorry the producers didn't give your oppas the ship you wanted.

On a serious note - in a word, this drama is freaky. Freaky because cults exist and this drama aimed to explore that (in a fictionalised form of course). Apart from the plot being a little long, every episode kept me on my toes (I finished the drama in a day). The writers also did a good job creating a complex storyline where the cult and the community were completely entwined and the mission of the protagonist was to escape this impossible hell.

The acting in this by the characters of Goseonwon were creepily good, and the small moments of comedy between the friends or people in the community were cute and genuinely funny. Taecyeon and Woo Dohwan's acting were not the best but not the worst either, but Seo Yeji was incredible.

If you're a thriller lover then I highly recommend this drama. And if you're still expecting romance please just leave.

Ppps Jun 11 2018 10:38 am Of all the kdramas that I have seen so far,this definitely is one my favourite dramas....the female lead was too good...the fear,helplessness,desperation and plight in her eyes looked so real and heart-wrenching that my heart went out for that poor girl even though I was aware that her character was only fictional....every actor in this drama were( except for the main male lead,who could have been better) superlatively good....rendered some of the finest performances...the evil were truly evil and gave me goosebumps....every moment of the drama was filled with suspense and thrill....this is a very dark intense drama which,thankfully, involved no romance in it....the ending was just so apt as well with Sang mi thanking her saviours sincerely and living a normal and happy life with her mother....also,the fate of the main female lead’s father was very sad but realistically shown, as there are plenty of brainwashed religious fanatics in real life as well.

After two episodes I couldn't bare it any longer. It broke me and I keep crying. It feels too real and it made me to traumatized, and yes I know what that is. As a strong person who tend to love deep dark stories, I'm giving this the middle finger. I always watch deep thrillers and stuff like this, but the only thing I did during this was cry and rage.

I don't know what's in the next episodes, but I feel horribly sick after only two of them. I don't care about blood and action, or jumpscares for that matter. But just this in general contains a lot of things you don't want to see.

Suicide and getting bullied. Not in that "oh that's a character I didn't know, poor person" way, but in that "things will go better, I want to hug him/her, I love you, please stay, oh wait, dead" way.

If you can bare with those two words you're really strong. Yet I don't recommend watching it because of these reasons. I'm regretting it so much. If you don't cry to this you're practically not human. You should never step your feet into this drama if you're sensitive.

Otherwise, it wasn't really a lot of things happening. I didn't understand the meaning of it, kind of boring and confusing. You need patience, clearly. But at the same time you live into it, it's exciting to see what happens next. The acting is really good from most actors and actresses here.

Some of the viewer, commented here, said that this drama slow plotting, no romance, and said it is boring. Oh hello, this drama genre is thriller and mystery.. Why need to have a lovey dovey plot? GO and watch rom-com genre if you are expecting that kind of plot!!!!

I watched this drama trailer, and get my attention! And it is, indeed! Very interesting. Each episode will make you feel uneasy as you keep on asking Whats Next? Whats Next?.. I dont even think it is boring, yet i enjoy every episodes.

I like how their friendship relationship, and how the apostle jo and spirit father act. They are so greed, and disgusting and full of violence. I like how the story plotting are, and you guys wrap up very nice at the end. I am So Satisfied with the ending, my tine worth for it. I hope this drama get more award!

ddua Apr 05 2018 2:59 pm Very dark drama filled with thrill and crime. Disciple Jo and Spiritual Father were the most disgusting characters.. The portrayal of this crazy cult was quite frightening, and scares me that these cults actually exist in Korea (and maybe in other countries too). The best character was Dong Cheol. You can see the emotions in his eyes and he was always the scene stealer for me. He felt like the main character to me, rather than the other guy lol. There were times when the drama got frustrating and slow, but in the end it turned out to be okay. Everyone's acting was on point. There's no romance other than some empathy between the main characters, but of course, romance is not the theme of this drama. The drama is quite creepy and crazy but it is interesting and keeps you on your toes all the time.

However the consensus for Save Me (this was prevalent in a lot of online posts and even on this page) viewers were expecting some sort of 'pay off' between Dong Cheol and Sang Mi even if it was just a mere peck on the cheek or even a hug because those set ups right from episode 1 surely did its part in lulling us into that web that DC and SM had some sort of connection and instant attraction so much that we were screaming out for it! So when it didn't eventuate being the mature open minded viewers that we are; we accepted it and have since moved on albeit that our OTP was a ship that never left the harbour and is still docked there. Hopefully some kind writer and PD might take pity on the DC/SM shippers and create a romantic drama so our ship can finally set sail. ❤️

Quite well written and produced, as expected of Korean cable channels and unlike some of the ppl here, I loved it for not having a strong focus on the romance part. SAYS WHO every drama has to have a part dedicated to love lines. I tend to skip romance parts of dramas because I find it a waste of time bc it doesnt contribute to the plot at all, and I tend to skip pure romcom altogether.

The only annoying part is how Sangmi acts ridiculously crazy at times and only manages to calm down after so many eps. I know it is hard for her to stay calm but in terms of plot development it might be a little draggy and I can totally see how the cult believers will see her as the devil judging from the way she behaved.

Hate the police and politicians in the drama and it doesn't comfort me at all knowing that it is probably the same irl.

SYJ and WDW are doing well right now but everyone will remember Save Me as being the turning point in their careers for both of them. Everything about this drama was on point and the only let down for me was the lack of romance between WDH and SYJ characters. But the drama/story was just phenomenal and made up for it. I always recommend this one to my friends wanting to watch their First K Drama and that how I hook them in ❤️

And the 4 friends are so cute. their relation is so strong and there are so brave. This movie make me sad and furious. I hate so much Sang Mi's father, Baek Jung-Ki, Kang Eun-Sil, Jo Wan-Tae, Jo Wan-Duk, Han Yong-Min. There are so egregious and malicious. My favourite scene is Baek Jung-Ki's death. in my opinion the church is hell Baek Jung-Ki is evil. All actors did great in their roles. I understand, Religion is so strong thing.

Toto Dec 07 2017 3:00 am Where do I even begin with this drama. It's such an amazing concept that I haven't seen done in korean tv, it hasn't even been covered a lot in western countries either.

Personally I love psychological thrillers, it's my favourite genre, and even just the look of this drama gave you that intense feeling.

The cast was terrific as well! Seo ye ji deserves so many awards for this show. Previously I had only seen her in moorim school (which was mediocre) and she totally blew my expectations. Taecyeon was good for the lead role, though I did prefer Woo do hwan in this (his character stole my heart wow i couldn't stop crying for him).

I didn't mean to write such a long comment but this show really deserves it! Just a little side note that I wish I had seen before watching this, it does include multiple scenes of implied sexual harassment. It can also become quite disturbing.

it made me sick a couple of times watching it that I have to skip it forward quite a few times because the scenes are just too intense.

big props to the lead actress. that is just an incredibly huge role to fill in even for seasoned actors and she did great.

if you're looking for horror drama, look no further than this. congrats to the whole save me cast!

Great story by the way, revealed the dark side of humans in a rather rare genre in korean drama... good actors as well.

However, after getting pass those, I would say it is a good drama overall, as I did binge watched the whole drama in less than a day :p

I know its an OCN drama but I missed a hug or a kiss. They are all great actors, loved them all! My favourite was the funny guy (Go Joon) I laughed and was excited at the same time whenever I saw him. This Almighty thing gave me a headache, literally. My head was about to burst. The bad guys actors made me hate them so so much, bravo! Never thought I gonna miss any k-drama like that, please OCN make a season 2, I beg you!!

Eun-Sil (spiritual father crazy lady assistant) will also go to jail.. Sang-Mi's brother Sang-Jin will appear as ghost.smiling and saying goodbye. Sang-Mi's father will be confined at the asylum. anyway..Korean drama never fails to amazed me. so I'm saying.. bravo for this drama!.. congrats to all of the cast and crew!!! kamsahamnida!!!

Now i finished the first episode and i'm already hooked. I read the review that this series seems great.

baba Sep 24 2017 11:21 pm I was really emotionally wrecked by this drama :( The plot is really nicely tied together and a lot of the random stuff at the start (random alcoholic guy crashing into the car) made sense at the end. There were so many separate stories that wrecked me. You won't really understand what I'm talking about unless you watch the drama. With each episode, it wrecks me even more. The characters going through so much psychological torture.. They are all amazing and professional actors...

P.S - I was so touched by the scene which the police who had accepted bribes handcuffed himself with the culprit :((( also the last 2 eps can be made into an action movie

I've never commented or written my opinion on a show my whole life and this one deserves it. I can't even explain the feels!!!!! All actors and actresses were amazing bringing life to the characters but for me Woo Do Hwan and Seo Ye Ji stole the show.

Seo ye-ji is still as pretty and is a really good actress. i am glad she scored this role, it showed so much of a mature side of hers and all the actors just did such an amazing job. the villain died, the other bad guys went to jail and justice was served.

the last scene tho, Sang Mi's father is still literally swooned and it's kinda sad that he did not join his family and just started anew like them :c

I love all the actors in this drama and each of them are definitely doing a good job. The ones you want to hate, I hate them so much ahhhhhhhhhhhh and the ones you want to love, I love so much. I love the main lead and the 2nd lead and I know this drama isn't a romance but I really hope that dong-chul and sang-mi end together if there is a romantic note but all I want is for the bad guys to get caught and the good guys to get freedom.

I was disturbed and a bit ill at ease with the acting of the fanatics and the family until episode 3 and now I find the whole package so astounding ! so Intense ! And of course the Number One reason for such a greatness is the female lead who is unlike any other korean drama's female character ever created ! Very cold and distant yet with an incredible gentle heart and strong will, her love for her family, her hope enslaves her but she's so strong ! She fights until the end even if people reject her or call her crazy. Sang Mi is incredible, she's a broken young woman who is totally alone, I'm so glad the guys are here. I have a major crush on the second male lead, of course, as usual, but Damn ! he's so hot ! so bad boy and soft-hearted... I fear to be disappointed at the end, I would rather she gets on with him ! Bref, An incredible drama, very intense, disturbing and acting very good, not so predictable, not the kawaii yucky mush scenes of usual drama (even if my baby heart still coos when it's on) 10/10

But I don't think that people realize that the story lines are intense and that's what makes 'Save Me' a great and an amazing drama! And if you ask me, I'm all about that BROMANCE! Like literally every drama needs some bromance! Just like some shows in America, for example Teen Wolf, the bromance just kills me everytime. The bromance between 2 best friends make their friendship one of the best highlights of the show. How a friendship between 2 people can turn into both of them thinking each other more like brothers then just friends.

Dong-Cheol needs to save himself also, instead of fighting for everyone else he should have been fighting for a better life for his nanny. No one told him to attack the bully and his actions had terrible consequences for him, his nanny and his friends. I see how it will end already, he will save Sang Mi, she will end up with Sang-Hwan and he will be either dead or in jail.

She could've been tricked the cult members into lowering their guard down and then making her escape but she is overly emotional and that's why she hasn't been successful. Hopefully the boys can use their combined strength and resources to get her out... Here to episode 9&10 Fightin!!!

Just like popo's comment. he/she talked about the sokagakai in Japan. I hope those victims of that cult could save someday.

by the way.. I noticed Taecyeon looks like a fat guy in this drama. he's more good looking on the "Let's fight ghost".

This drama deserves an award. and Oh, am I the only one who noticed Woo Do-Hwan a.k.a Seok Dong-Cheol looks like Kim Woo Bin and sometimes he has the angle of Jung Ji-hoon (Rain) as well as the way they act.

popo Aug 29 2017 2:06 pm its exactly what i live in the first time in japan with a group called sokagakai, but i didnt know it, then i escaped them because i have brain and i am french, so japanese sokagakai can go to f*** theirself, !!!

its also the thema of this drama, the sokagakai exactly use same system and are present everywhere on the globe, its the most dangerous and powerfull secte of this century;

The plot is quite depressing (having to live within a crazy-worngfully-understood-as-sacred-community and unable to escape ugh) yet unpredictable and full of suspense. One thing that keeps me going: DONG CHEOL. Second lead syndrome is real. Cant handle his hawtness! I'm for Dong Cheol & Sang Mi ?

EB Aug 20 2017 10:37 am At episode 6, this drama is very realistic and heartbreaking. After all, kidnappings/slavery in its many forms is more prevalent now than ever before. The drama touches upon the injustices and vulnerabilities that allow cults and the world around them to prey on the weak. It also highlights how most of us turn a deaf ear to these victims. I'm a christian but I can see how easily predators can manipulate the Bible or make up their own religion to take advantage of the impressionable and powerless. I highly recommend the drama (at least what has aired thus far) for people who don't mind dark subject matter. The world is dark. We need to see it for what it is.

Over my years of life, I have witnessed the power and destructive effects of cults in society and this drama is doing a good job portraying the magnetic influence that draws so many into this situation. A unique viewpoint - writers are doing a good job so far. Hopefully, they can continue developing the story -- it is a chilling and depressing story but a fact of life that we must all be aware of and have tools to address when confronted with this situation.

I'm so enough with the "unpower people" vs "powerful people". The one that I like to watch in this drama is Dong Cheol. He is saving this drama storyline. The other is abusive people who love to bully others in several method. Hopefully the story will develop better in the next episode. I'm pairing Dong Cheol with Sang Mi. #DongMiTeam

JMomo36 Aug 14 2017 2:16 am This drama is definitely out of the norm. Meaning it doesn't have the same plot of any typical Kdrama which is understandable since it's coming from OCN. This drama can give you a glimpse of how reality can be, bullying, suicide, Cults, Parents with power, abuse... etc. any who, I've watched all 4 episodes already and boy let me tell you!! The thriller in this drama is REAL! I have to admit, it was a bit unbearable to watch some of the scenes due to the frustration and anger that I had towards the stupidity of many people in the drama but it also got me anxiously waiting for a week for a new episode. D; The acting is so on POINT. I am not disappointed with Seo Ye Ji as the lead actress, she's just so perfect.

CAUTION: I'm was diagnosed with Second Lead Syndrome within the first 2 episodes so, you might too! lol #DONGCHEOLFIGHTING

I am liking it so far, the religious group are so good at acting that I am little creeped out by them and am cringing to think of what is to come. Nice change of story from the norm and I'm loving the cast but I really hope that she ends up with Dong Cheol.

Will it have romance? Dong Cheol seems to have been interested in her from the moment she saw her for the first time. Sang Hwan is the main character in the story, on this cape he and she seem very close. Are you going to have a romantic relationship?

I think Dong Cheol in that story will be that friend whose everyone likes, and who feels a ' passion ' for the girl in history. But it will be Sang Hwan is your hero. The only thing left to know is whether by feelings of guilt or by passion.

Anyway, not only does she need to be rescued, this place is no good for anyone. In that drink, there's something weird, it's kind of a devil's thing.

Nina Aug 08 2017 11:02 pm I'm already hooked. The drama seems to be progressing at a good pace so far. Seo Ye Ji is doing a great job. As much as I like Ok Taecyeon, I'm getting 2nd lead sydrome. Woo Do Hwan's character is so passionate and reliable it's hard to not fall for a character like that. Anyway, overall the drama seems like it has promise and it'll definitely be a thrilling experience.

It's not like I hate thriller but circle and duel really tired me out. I think I'm going to move to romantic comedy for awhile before going to watch it. Also, I have watched ep 1 and I think I won't be able to stand the ongoing, maybe after it's ended then I'll watch it.

Serlina Aug 06 2017 9:00 pm I just finished watching the second episode of this drama and I think either in episode 3 or a couple episodes later, I think there's gonna be a time jump to when the 4 boys and Im Sang-Mi aren't in high school. Because I'm episode 1 and 2, Im Sang-Mi has bangs, and in some of the other teasers, Im Sang-Mi doesn't have bangs and her hair is longer. You can also see that change in the official trailer. Also Han Sang-Hwan has shorter hair in the picture and in the trailer, Taecyeon's character had more of a longer hair in high school. I'm just saying, I think there's gonna be a time jump, where the boys will find Im Sang-Mi again a few years later after high school. :)

I haven't read the webtoon of this drama but earlier this year I presented a criminal in my Forensics class (Jim jones) and by watching this I was completely shook "woah goosebumps.. what am I seeing?". I really think it is going to be an interesting drama and a great story that ppl will learn from (to not trust/believe ppl easily like that bcs humans can be evil in angel appearance). I can't wait to watch more and I am so happy that I took forensics last year lol. such a good reference.

LKB Jun 12 2017 11:54 am Whoa, from the photo up there (the collage from the script reading), I thought Woo Do Hwan was Seo Kang Joon (he is the top row guy on the right and second row in the group photo on the right-again our visual right)... I never saw a likeness in the small roles I saw him in (Sweet Stranger and Me/Stranger in My House, Dramaworld, the small role in Shut up Flower Boy Band) but they have quite a similar look when you do their hair and clothes in a similar fashion (I guess his hair was so distinct that it almost detracted from his nice features, and well his character was not one you are meant to adore in Stranger)... they could easily play brothers, probably more convincing twins than in Circle (though I am loving that show and don't care if they look almost nothing alike!)... Se Yi's performances in Moorim School and as a princess of the Three Kingdoms has resulted in a lead as a religious cult member reaching out to be saved... what a strange but very OCN sort of story to tell! :P
