Since her father left their home and her mother died, Pil-Jung (Hyun Jyu-Ni) has taken care of her younger sister. She dreams of having an ordinary life, including becoming a PE teacher, marrying a nice man, and having children. Her life changes after she marries Tae-Sub (Kang Seo-Joon), who has a son Min-Ho (Gil Jung-Woo). Tae-Sub goes bankrupt and causes trouble, but Pil-Jung struggles to get out of the problems caused by Tae-Sub. One day, Tae-Sub suddenly dies. 7 years later, Pil-Jung is busy doing odd jobs to support her son Min-Ho and daughter Min-Ji (Hong Je-Yi). Pil-Jung is happy with her life as single mother, but Min-Ho and Min-Ji want to have a father who is cool and rich.

Park Min Jan 07 2023 7:36 pm Well, to sum it up.... it's bad! It's one of those cheep tv-novels with no care or budget. It you look at some corners on the set you'll see it falling apart. They even use digital zoom and cropping instead of optical zoom in 2020!! If you were to use ChatGPT to generate a kdrama script it would totally crush this drama. BTW, it's called "Mom Has an Affair" but no affair to be seen anywhere!

As much as I enjoyed this drama,The ending seems to be a let down. I was expecting a better ending. The FL and ML endured a lot from the so call evil characters in this drama. Everyone performed great. Evil and all. I really enjoyed it watching this drama. I would of thought the writers would give the viewers a happy ever after ending. I want to thank all the actors. saranghae Oct 20 2020 12:45 am epi 112 from 90th epi i skipped all of pil jun dad, minho and the chairmans house scenes so i dont really know what happened to them but since they aare out of the picture now this drama reverted to its old good self as intrigued and mysterious when eun joo got sent those ultrasound scans of her miscarriage and sok jun got the wallet of mr ha this was sent anonimously but i got an idea who sent them the closest person who can do this is nobody but mr ha but how come he is dead for sure I think the only way he can be alive is that somehow one of the witted lady gangsters that cleaned up the hit and run saved mr ha from his surely death for a reason that nobody knows and will be disclosed later anyway glad the drama came back to its good old days only a few epi left but I sense the ending is gonna be real good

Then Seok-Hwan and his mother and Eun Joo will get punished for what they have done. Also what the mother did to Ha Yeol-Do. This drama has so many happenings and not revealed.

Hoping for a happy ending for Oh Pil-Jung and Kang Seok-Joon.

Meanwhile, Piljung and Seokjoon are so stupid, weak and passive. It is hard to believe that a wife knowing her husband was died brutally, but doing nothing for seven years. It's same to Seokjoon, he has done nothing to free himself. Many times, I wanted to stop watching this drama. However, I could not stop since I really want to know how will Eunjoo, her husband and his mom be punished at the end.

The "suspense" is not appreciated. It is actually frustrating! Female lead is weak considering what she has gone through in life. All words and no action. Take that issue with Eun Ju....she already had the upper hand but why was the trump card buried? Imagine she even lied to cover up for Eun Ju?

Well I forgot how badly PJ was beaten by her husband, timid character yes she is and somewhat intellectually challenged. That's why SJ mother took her in because she felt sorry for her!

Every challenges that came upon her, she was liked defendless, don't just sit down there dumb, dumb and please seek advice from professional ie. Lawyers or others in her son case. Don't bother to talk to her boyfriend, KSJ who is even useless and brainless. Don't feel like follow through to the end of this show.... totally disappointed!!!

Start to hate Seok Joon, why he give up and change mind so quickly without any further attempt. So annoying, don't like to see Eun Joo, her mom, and her husband's mom. They are bunch of people with big mouth and mean. The Dr is at least kind and innocent. He always stand by Pil Jung, and ready to help her.

Recent plots of stories make me think that Korean culture is very men-dominated or money-oriented. Poor people have no voice and rich people always so powerful. Rich people manipulate things and even kill people, and have never get punished by law, which maybe society or cultural problem. It's very unfortunate for Korean people ... I wish I am wrong in this.

saranghae Sep 18 2020 8:22 am epi 095 omg omg omg for 90 epi this drama was impeccable flawless always on the upward and I always praise the writer but that just came to an abrupt end for 90 epi I didn’t skip not even 1 min but in the last 3 or 4 epi I skipped an awful lot I wish this drama would’ve ended at the 90th epi with sok jun tieing the knot with pil jun and minho rejecting the ugly sok hwan when he visited his house and make them live happily ever after as a big family ah and also make tae woo marry pil jun lil sister this drama should’ve ended in this high note before the appearance of the super idiotic pil jun dad and before minho reversed his decision to not joining his bio dad family im very very disappointed with the writer I think he could’ve done much better and I just have to downgrade my ratings to 4 or 5/10 oh well

saranghae Sep 12 2020 8:22 am epi 88 just finished this epi and im so overwhelmed omg omg this was a great epi this got to be the best epi of this drama I loved this epi so much that I watched it 3 times I never anticipated that minho will do something like this but he is my hero now he is my man yeeeeeeeeeeeey this epi was so warm hearted that put warm tears in my eyes every time I watched this pil jun and minho acting was incredibly superb so natural so warm with a perfect chemistry like a real mom and son before this epi I thought pil jun uphill battle was insurmountable that she will easily lose custody to the ugly sok hwan but minho changed all that now the playing field is turning to pil jun side ok many people are saying mr ha the errand boy is coming back eotteohge doen geoyeyo?　What happened here? He was run all over on a hit and run murder attempt on a deserted road and the witted lady later sent her gangsters to clean up and cover it up and make sure he was dead so how can he possibly be alive if the gang didn’t find the body then the witted lady wouldn’t be this calm unless there was some divine intervention whoahahahahahhahahahaha seriously he is all but gone im looking forward for this outcome with this writer everything is possible　I love this hahahahhaha　omg omg omg omg

Great acting for the villains Eun Ju and her mom, Suk Hwan and his mother and of course Hye-Jin. I just hope that Mr.Oh will soon be out of the scene as he only brings shame and sorrow to her daughters which he abandoned many years ago. I hope too that Mr. Ha will be back soon to expose all the evil deeds that Suk Hwan and his mom has done. I want Phil Jeong and Suk Joon to have a happy ending, please.they are actually the reason why I keep on watching this drama.

saranghae Sep 10 2020 1:20 am epi 87 for bad experiences before i never get to the latest epi on purpose i always keep a cushion of 4 or 5 epi to avoid getting preempted for some crisis news like happened with that typhoon a few days back i feel sorry for the people that were waiting for hours for the epi that never showed up especially when the epi were getting so interesting and people anxiously wanted to know what happened to pil jun anyway the drama is getting so interesting when i thought it was gonna start winding down getting ready for the nice ending but nooooo it appears theres a lot more drama to come pil jun lil sister is looking really good especially in that black dress i think immmmm faaaaaaaaaaaaallinnnnnng......omg omg whoahahhahahahahaha what the hell was that hahaha imo the evil pair is the best in this drama especially sok hwan acting is great i enjoy a lot his scenes he is ugly but with a lot of angel perfect for this role eun joo with a beautiful face but so greedy and selfish pil jun and sok jun come in 2nd ok keep enjoying this drama

Another who abandons his newborn son and leaves him to another for money, he too wants to take the boy back as if it is a bag! What is this idiocy? The writers of the script really suck and their stories don't hold water. They take people for morons. I try to watch but every time my stomach hurts ... luckily there are better dramas than this !

Then I saw her in another ongoing kdrama the "Brilliant Heritage". Now I came to realize that maybe due to pandemic she had to chose between the two running drama.

i think he will turn into minho and try to snatched him from his mom and sok jun so this is gonna create a whole new twist looking forward for next epi

saranghae Aug 22 2020 12:08 pm epi 67 omg omg omg the saddest epi and i didnt have any clue that this was coming after so much longing after so much future together tragedy struck the family am so sad that i want to cry with pil jun and sok jun and i think the errand boy will take central stage in the next epi to clear some mysteries am very mad with the translations cz some key parts had been very misleading i dont think the translators are doing it on purpose its that sometimes the plot gets very tricky that even the translators who are korean native speakers can not understand especially the part where the errand boy was talking about his sister who worked at a bar where sok hwan abused her and left her pregnant with minho ok i shouldnt be complaining cz the translators are all volunteers who dont get paid and just do it for the love of their country and their culture which they are trying to diffuse here so no offense at all am looking forward to enjoy next epi

saranghae Aug 21 2020 5:21 am Epi 65 the best epi for me cz all the mysteries surrounding sok jun, kim bok soon, the chairman, the witted lady were cleared in this epi so it feels like the drama 1st half ended here now I know sok jun bio parents tho im still not sure if kim bok soon is his bio mom until I see a dna test report if im not wrong I remember eun joo run a test between them but they never show the results or i missed it somehow but that’s improbable cz so far I never skipped anything so what happened to that test do they omitted on purpose to make things more interesting or what? Now I know why the chairman kept sok jun origins secret but doing this made lots of people miserable especially the witted lady that lived in hell for 30 years for no reason at all I really feel sorry for her and I can understand the chairman silence I forgive him too as far as kim bok soon I still have doubts about her origins I tend to think that she might be related to lx group by blood but this will be like a home run for me if this is true I think a new plot should be starting by next epi still pil jun origins are still in the dark I know a lot of surprises will come out of there and what is bothering me a lot is mr ha from previous epi I knew his sister worked as a hostess in a bar where the ugly sok hwan frequented and abused her and the result was minho so in order to avenge his sister abused he infiltrated into lx group as the witted lady errand secretary but then this story collapsed when mr ha was visiting his ailing father in the hospital and in the conversation the name of kim bok soon came out which made his dad feel uneasy so I think theres a connection between kim bok soon and mr ha which is totally out of the blue and give a new dimension to the plot for 65 epi this writer has been impeccable outstanding all other mediocre writers should learn from him how to make a well done drama this drama is scheduled for 120 epi so dont despair theres a lot more to come

Some plots make me headache, and I may not to follow this drama soon. The director maybe trying to attract more audiences and increase the drama rating, however, the result is not ideal. The current plot may not only decrease the number of audiences but also damage good images of Korean peoples. Especially I am so sick of this Eun Joo; I believe she has a mental problem.

saranghae Aug 07 2020 5:21 am Epi 52 ok lots of mysteries surfacing which makes the plot very interesting and fun omg sok jun did it again he duped pil jun one more time whoahahaha disguised as director kang but this time was for good causes he is trying to convince her to continue pursuing her dream as a full time pe teacher and reject the marriage proposal cz one condition for this marriage is for her to quit working and I think sok jun is doing this cz he is starting to have feelings for pil jun after she changed her looks so outstandingly whoahahahaha the same for the doc he is falling for pil jun helplessly omg omg hahahaha so a love triangle is brewing here hahahaha I think pil jun will settled for the doc in the end hahaha another complete mystery is mr ha the quick witted lady errand boy that according to sok hwan he was an orphan who was adopted by an American family and lived there until he became an adult and came back to korea in search for his bio parents the intriguing part is that I think he maybe related to the chairmans family or be the long lost son of kim bok soon this outcome will be very interesting ok my best actors so far minji and minho and the principal eun joo mom hahahaha minho with his nasal voice is so hilarious and he is doing it on purpose cz I seen him in other dramas and his voice is totally different and I like the principal lips everytime she is on scene I can not read the subs cz I can not take my eyes out of her lips omg omg omg what the hell was that omg whoahahhahahaha

saranghae Jul 31 2020 2:44 pm epi 47 im getting far behind so i need to pick up the pace to just make it 5 or 6 epi behind i like the part of a drama where the mysteries starts brewing like it seems that sok jun mom is kim bok soon and his dad the chairman tae soo but if this is true then he will not have the late chairman blood so that will put him in disadvantage vs sok hwan who is blood related to the late chairman via his mom for the succession of the company so to make it even i think sok jun is the son of the late chairman and his mom a concubine that could be kim bok soon but not necessarily she could be a mysterious woman cz of the age difference also in the beginning i cursed the quick witted lady for badly mistreating sok jun and the chairman i was wrong cz little i knew that she was the late chairmans daughter so all her grievances were legit moreover she felt like she was robbed when the late chairman chose tae soo an outsider for the succession of the company but another mystery is if sok hwan is the bio son of tae soo which i doubted cz the witted lady hate him from the beginning maybe sok hwan is the son of her lover a man who she really loved ok and last how can a hair cut change a person completely whoahahahaha thats what happened to pil jun when she straightened her hair now she dont look ugly and scarier she looks pretty normal and with better outfit she certainly changed a lot hahahaha for good i mean but still she can not compete with eun joo not even close omg omg whoahahahahahha oh well

The way how their lives cross and their relationships develop through every episode is very interesting. I personally find the lead actress very beautiful and attractive. She has a very sweet smile and she looks perfect in the role of a young strong and loving mother! Can't wait to see how the love between the leads will bloom and survive all the future challenge! And see the antagonistic have a taste of her own medicine hihi

She is the best fit for this role. I love the plot. I don’t usually watch longer series, but for some reason I couldn’t stop watching this. I love the leads as their love unfolds. Can’t wait for the next episode.

In some ways Sui Joon seemed naive at Beginning (age 30) almost “dumb” and brother even more dumb. Made me curious how the story would advance with time. Now I can’t wait to watch next episode. As most dramas unfold, it’s amazing the coincidences of relationships that exist amongst characters unbeknownst. Who will turnout to be Mr Ha’s sibling?

saranghae Jun 23 2020 9:55 am epi 15 ok suk jun found his lil doggie just out of the blue i thought it was gonna be a more dramatic reencounter by the end of the drama but rather happened really fast i think is a new trend in kdramas im seeing lots of cute lil doggies in almost every drama i start this drama started really good for me almost perfect it was very smooth and easy to follow comedy is non existent which means no dragging writers use lots of comedy to drag on and waste time i got the feeling that when the plot starts getting twisted by halfway or later this drama will get really good looking forward to enjoy next epis and want to give credits to the writer

stechira Jun 22 2020 9:40 am I will be honest this is not a drama for you to invest your emotions in, you can watch it to take a break from your fave dramas and the episodes go by so fast that you won't feel it. It has those super annoying characters and the typical weak FL being messed up by the female villain. I am most proud of seok joon's character, he doesn't let the villains push him around. The story is quite solid, i can't tell how the story will unfold so i keep watching. Overall, i will say this drama is just above average.

However, I find with this drama and many others; that the Title of the drama is not in sync with the plot and progression of the Drama. I am wondering if, as usual,(as I have noted since watching from 2015) the Title will actually be played out in the last 15 minutes of the last episode.

The affair should have begun sometime soon after KSJ returned from England. There are too many episodes filled with useless scenes not pertinent to the title 'Mom has an Affair. There is actually no 'Affair:" or real Romance to warrant the word AFFAIR in the title. The name should really be A Single Mom Perseveres.

Thus far a total waste of my time as I am sure a crappy ending is inevitable. Good thing I like the Kang brothers and the adorable Min-Ji to have waded through 27 episodes from Sunday to today/

What is being portrayed are weak people, domineering parents, greediness, no human conscience, no respect, hatefulness - is this common in korean society?

saranghae May 23 2020 1:12 pm just started this drama after wanna taste which i dumped it by the 80 epi cz too many annoying people it was ok until there but i just lost interest this drama started real good with an easy to follow and warm plot but when i first saw the lead female husband i jeered at him and got totally disappointed and said oh no this is jin san again the guy who caused lots of problem in the previous wanna taste and the main reason i dumped that drama how possibly can it be for him to be in back to back dramas and i cursed at my bad luck cz i thought about dumping this drama too cz i can not deal with that guy and he is doing exactly the same role as a very bad guy omg omg i had no doubt that it was him jin san but before i dump this drama i should make sure so i checked his photo and name and his other dramas and i was so surprised that wanna tast was not in his work history omg omg i was looking at 2 persons thinking it was one how can they be so identical omg omg
