Hae-Jin (Shim Yi-Young) is 36-years-old. She is married to Jin-Sang (Seo Ha-Jun), who is 6 years younger than her, and they have a daughter Yoo-Ri (Shin Bi). Hae-Jin runs a restaurant that she took over from her father-in-law. She supported her husband Jin-Sang while he studied to enter a university. Because of Hae-Jin, Jin-Sang is now attending a prestigious university, but he has an affair with Joo-Ri (Ahn So-Jin). She is the young daughter of a rich family. Hae-Jin becomes aware of her husband's affair, but she doesn't want a divorce. Meanwhile, Dae-Gu (Seo Do-Young) appears in front Hae-Jin. Dae-Gu is a drama series writer. He was once in demand for his screenwriting, but his popularity has waned. His marriage life is not doing well either.

Park Min Mar 10 2023 9:24 pm The story is way too thin for a 124 episode drama. Which is why it had 30 episodes epilogue!! There were loads of other problems from writing, characters, pacing and production.

hibiscus Oct 19 2022 11:18 pm I shld'nt have read some of the old comments esp when I read the Jin sang is back with Hae jin? What a story, he doesn't deserve a 2nd chance after he's done to Hae jin, but HJ is also a very weak woman, all she did was give him money whenever he asks for it but only to spend it with his 2nd wife and little did she know that he was cheating on her spending the money in foods/hotels for the 2nd ex wife! I was hoping cod fish and hae jin will get married but that daughter of her is like her father so selfish and I started loathing both of them! It's too late for me to stop watching, I only watch bec of Seo do young but reading some prev comments made me feel disappointed now! Cod fish shld end up with Hae jin but the latter is also very weak woman and most times stupid. Bad few episodes I wished I knew what was gg to happen then I shld probably stop watching in the middle of this drama!

me Oct 17 2022 11:25 pm I'm enjoying this drama except for some annoying characters like Dae Gu's ex wife who's brainwashing her son to break up with Hae jin & DG! gosh Jin sang is super immature I'm not sure if I shld be feeling sorry for him bec of his flaws or what? His daughter is surely smarter than him! That Yoo Ran and Jun ho they're out of this world, both are shamelss, JH still lying to his wife that it's only a misunderstanding why he got involved with this wicked woman Yoo Ran, so sad that Dae Gu married her! I'm not finished but I'm really impressed with this writer too how the twists&turns of the story makes you feel wanting to see the next ep and the next!

Jinjoo Oct 11 2022 8:57 pm I think Hae jin has to open her eyes in what's gg on with her husband right in front of her! she's more likable in her role before she married him but now she's either too naive, too nice or too stupid? Also I know we shldn't be looking at superficial things but gosh when I look at her hair it made me cringe of itchiness I'm sorry but the director made her looking too untidy! I can u/stand she doesn't need to look glamorous as she's a housewife & working in her restaurant but would you like to have lunch or dinner when someone looking like she didn't take a shower is serving you? However, it's no excuse for her husband to cheat on her as Jin sang was the one who wooed/seduced her promising her everything that he won't make her cry but he's cheating big time & asking for money & spend it with his mistress in hotels and HJ believes in him that he's studying with this 'honey' girl! gosh her husband is seriously immature & inconsiderate! Overall, I'm liking this family drama & hopefully it will get better for Hae jin!

Jinjoo Oct 08 2022 11:40 pm I'm starting to watch this bec of Seo ha joon I really became a new fan after seeing him in Secret House then vinged on his old dramas which I must say never disappoint me! He's a multi talented actor and regardless of how the story goes here I'll continue to watch! I have read some negative views about this drama here but every drama has its ups and downs but my principle is if I don't think it's not interesting enough for me or worth my time then I need to stop watching! However this drama may have some moral lessons for sure that viewers may give them a certain perspective in life!

Ati87 Nov 07 2021 12:19 am This drama is not good at all..Mostly about cheating husband..Honestly,i try to watch because of Seo Ha Jun..the heroine,for me,too old for him ...unlike Jeon So Min,who were actually about 3 yrs older then him but she does not looks like she is older than him...The heroin ,herself always wore old fashioned,and so ahjumma clothes..She also has this appearance that makes her so ugly..no wonder Jin Sang(Seo Ha Jun) cheated on her with pretty and fashionable girl..her personality as heroine, most horrible ever..She act like eldest sister of Jin Sang..she trying so hard to be good wife that sacrifice everything for him and his family..Her character were the most boring characters of all main female characters in Kdrama..And she trying so hard to be tough ..however,she failed it.Shim Yi Young,does not fit with male actor more younger than her..For me,as Hye Jin,were not suitable for her..she just look like sugarmummy for pretty boy.

lrt Jul 24 2020 12:13 am Sorry haters this was a page turner for me. I totally binge watched and ignored all the other shows I was following. I will admit I couldn't wait until the wife dissing episodes were over but for the first time I loved all the story lines. Lives get transformed..the cheaters get thwarted...and the main love story was really really sweet!!. This is one of the few dramas that didn't save everything for the last 5 minutes. The casting was perfect.

saranghae May 06 2020 2:40 pm Epi 124 final epi dumped this drama by epi 80 but came back for the last 2 epi just to see what was the outcome of codfish soup and the pork cutlet chef ship all i wanted to know was if they lived happily ever after but what this writer is really something he toyed and tossed the viewers all around like the pimp tossing the prostitute to the floor in a hot tango dance whoahahahahahaha all the way to the last minute of this drama insinuating that the ship was all but trounced that the chef went back to jin san and codfish soup back with the bad actress something impossible i was so disappointed but what in the last 30 sec of the drama the writer showed the last scene where the chef and codfish soup and the kids were living happily ever after what the heck was that what a roller coaster this writer is LOL at all the viewers god dam he made everybody mad After a while I started laughing and have no choice but give some credit to the writer at least he is trying to be innovative , creative appealing to hatred to gather fans at least he is not using the old maternity clinic baby swapping plots or nepotism plots so popular among kdrama writers my final rating 6/10 and yes I can recommend this drama tho I dumped it but deserves some credit

The writer, in a sadic way, played with the viewer's nerves. I would not recommend this drama, or any other future dramas of this writer, to anybody.

Lilian May 01 2020 7:15 am I love the story line. The twist on each character life too. I really admire the detail put into each character. It reflects the emotions and how they choose to change or keep falling into the wrong path like Bea Yura. This character make me hate her, lover her, and fill pity for her. I love the main characters they make me love them and feel their betrayals like mine. They are exceptionally brilliant. The children too are awesomely interpreted and I cry with them and laughed with them too. In all, every character is well perform and they exceeded my expectations. The writer did a great and wonderful job writing this precious drama. My only suggestion, why did you change Yura’s repentance and make her bad again. I wished she was good at the end like you where trying to do. I believe everyone deserves a second chance to make things right. Anyhow, Congratulations!!

KC Apr 24 2020 5:11 am This is an interesting illustration of choices. Choices of attachment, betrayal, karma and redemption. Each character is faced with the consequence of their actions. Life is not static. We all have moments that are embarrassing and irresponsible; hopefully, we grow and mature. Sometimes, it is due to self-reflection; however, often times it is due to having to contend with the realities of our choices. I find myself rooting for the main couple. They have been hurt and have found happiness. The children actors are fantastic. Even though the parents may be "cads", that doesn't mean that the children are left unaffected by divorce and cling to the hope of reunification. For them to have conflicting emotions is to be expected. I don't care for Jin Bong. The catalyst for their relationship was unseemly. This entire series is a snapshot of the devastation wrought by infidelity. Just a thought...

Even if he "improves" i hope they dont end up together again because it will seem as if infidelity is okay and forgivable just because you try and change. After episode 114 i am thinking of waiting for the final episode and from there i will decide if i will watch the rest..

They lost their house and Stupid people like the Kang family will pity them and let them move in. Kang's family will let them move for the sake of Yuri.

I am getting annoyed day by day with almost all the main stars’ characters.

Dae Gu is the worst. Allowing his ex wife to live under the same roof with an excuse (Gwang Ju’s mom) is ridiculous. Allowing her to touch and even kiss him (at the sneak peak from ep 94) is showing me how he is a loser since the beginning. No wonder his best friend Jun Hu can toy around with his wife for so long.

Hae Jin is the second worst. I guess she might surrender to Bae Yu Ran’s threat for Gwang Ju’s sake.

I am going to watch until the end, but please don’t make me feel like I am wasting my time. The writer should at least give a worth-to-watch-till-the- end drama

Jin Bong is rapist and the writer and director made it normal even if it is wrong to rape someone who isn't in their normal self or unconscious. That is what we call Rape regardless of your gender and feelings as long as you don't have permission to that person you Jin Bong raped. You are a rapist, even if it just a drama or character, this is still not okay to show your viewers that it is okay to rape. I have no doubt now why Big Bang member Seungri and other stars had issues about rape. It looks like it is normal for South Koreans to rape, oh my goodness South Korea. This is such a big turn off. I can see how your culture is in terms of this.

saranghae Mar 18 2020 3:57 pm epi 86 this will be my last epi i have no idea how this is gonna end but im not curious either more likely this drama ended for me in epi 80 when codfish soup confessed his love to the pork cutlet chef and she corresponded his love becoming officially a sweet couple this is what i was hoping and looking for from the beginning that they be together and live happily ever after together with who else yeah ganjuya so now that it happened i have nothing else to watch cz i was interested only in the main story and skipped all other ships from early on i was gonna finish this drama but in this epi the bad actress which i thought was finished for good when the producer gave her a huge huge shovel to the street asphalt leaving her with a big bruise and bloody ankle i thought she was done for good but i was totally wrong she came back even worse with full of vengeance and barged in into codfish soup apartment making ganyuja full of terror again this is why im dumping this drama cz i dont want to see her wrecking the lives of the lovey dovey couple and inflicting more extremely offensive child abuse to the innocent ganjuya and i damned the useless codfish soup for not putting her in her place that idiot is doing nothing to stop her it is so exasperating this writer is putting the drama in a retrograde mode going back to epi 30 repeating all the unpleasent things the bad actress did to them thats why im quitting this is it au revoir, sayonara, ciao, auf wiedersehen, namaste, annyeong, alooooooha, zai jian, hasta la vista baaaaaaaaaby whoahahahahaha but dont get me wrong i really like this drama and the writer my ratings 7/10

She wanted his mom not be part of the madness. Listen people stop using the word mature and stronger in this show. Somebody doesnt just mature just to be in a relationship. Where is that Maturity I cannot see it. All I see it's Jin Bong is obssessed with Cheol Jin. And also she is very insecured. She feels like it's ok to be part of his family. Tchuipps. saranghae Mar 11 2020 1:27 pm epi 80 wow wow didnt expect this epi would be this good it turned out to be just awesome for me with a double punch i thought id seen the best epi in 76 but no no this got to be tops by far first punch I saw it coming from the beginning of this drama the romance or better said the love hate relation between the lead female and the bad writer and finally finally after sleepless nights thinking about her the bad writer decided to confess his love to the pork cutlet chef by saying could you feed me pork cutlets everyday? and she said for free? And he without saying anything looked at her and slowly moved his hand to reach the inside pocket of his coat like if he was reaching for something and with a swift quick move he took out his hand from the pocket and show her a small heart made out from the thumb and index fingers with a big smile in his face which meant yes I will pay you with lots of luuuuuuuuuuve every night wow that was so cute and funny whoahahahahahahha and at the end walking down the street at the pedestrian stop light she tricked him to miss the green light which she quickly cross while the light was changing from green to red and from the other side of the street she slowly lift both hands over her head and signaled a big heart with her arms and hands then he knew that his love was corresponded wow this made me think that the writer of this drama should be a woman cz only women can write this kind of cute things I just erupted into laughing and got warm hearted second punch in my next comment

Both became obsess with their mate before marriage.

Now the writer is trying to portray her as a changed individu. A person character or personality doesn't change over time If someone change for a mate ,the true color will show later.

Also as a non-korean that has never been to korea I found some of the story lines incredibly hard to believe especially seeing how they are big on their family oriented celebrations to have in laws not even know each other's name. Anyway, if you can endure those types of writing mistakes that make the audience feel like the writer thinks his/her audience are "slow" then I think the the last 40 eps are worth it. As of now I feel that who knows what tomorrow will bring if it goes back to absurdity or not.

She is not malacious, but she was a borderline stas a host of unpleasant things and lazy is one of the kindest words used. And she did something to Ct if the genders were reversed, he might be calling the cops about in the morning. Instead he is suddenly and magically in love. On one chat section they are referred to as the "barf couple". Again, this is no reflection on the actors, but this subplot is one that turns off many viewers.

This drama is not the best but I can rate it as average. We are not looking at american culture where a divorce is so easy you take it at anytime to Divorce Court with Judge Lynn Toler.

This is a korean drama with korean culture. This lady is not educated. Please don't label the character stupid. Of course she cannot think critically. She didnt even know that it is no longer illegal to punish your spouse's mistress.

This is can be real life example specifically in the christians community, where divorce is against the bible. Get it together. A LOT PEOPLE in this world dont go out their way to get a divorce because of their spouse's affair.
