During a deadly outbreak of the plague, rumors of a terrifying creature in the mountains of Joseon spread. King Jungjong (Park Hee-Soon) calls upon his most trusted general Yoon Gyeom (Kim Myung-Min) out of retirement. Yoon Gyeom along with his daughter Myung (Hyeri), trusted right hand man Sung Han (Kim In-Kwon) and Heo (Choi Woo-Sik) set out to find the rumored beast.
Notes
- Movie is based on a real case which took place in 1527. King Jungjong moved to another place to avoid a monster which appeared at the palace.
- Early working title was "Jakseoui Byeon - Moolgwoeui Seubgyeok" (literally "Jakseoui Byeon - Attack of Strange Object").
- Shin Jung-Won was first selected to direct the movie, but dropped out. The genre of the film was then changed to action-comedy film from fantasy-historical movie.
- Jung Woo-Sung was first offered the lead male role, but declined.
- Filming begins April 10, 2017 and finished July 21, 2017.
