Sosuke Fujiwara (Shun Oguri) is the son of a major confectionery manufacturer owner. He suffers from mysophobia due to trauma from his past. He takes office as the CEO of a popular chocolate store. Meanwhile, Ha-Na (Han Hyo-Joo) is a genius chocolatier, but has a phobia of making eye contact with people. Sosuke Fujiwara and Ha-Na, who both have difficulty with interpersonal relationships, meet by chance through chocolate and develop their relationship romantically.

Steve Nov 22 2025 11:50 am Finally, a bingeable romance for 2025. Proof that you can deliver a good drama in 8 episodes. The drama is well written and acted -- overall a high quality production. The highlight, though, has to be Han Hyo-Joo's performance. The way in which in her character interacts and averts eye contact with others is really quite affecting, and cute. She is one of the better actresses working today. It is a reflection of the actor's skill that they can be funny or engaging in more than one language. I guess it also says something about their language skills.

Small spoiler follows. Agree with others on the unnecessary thug scene. Also, the reveal of the anonymous chocolatier (Hana) would have been more satisfying had Sosuke learned about it on his own, which is where I thought the story was going.

You're making a series on chocolate & the characters in your show Wants this valuable cacao from the third largest chocolate producer in the world but noooo! Japan gotta be the SaViOuR! It's disgusting microagression & east asian productions need to stop doing that! Otherwise it's a really good show, so it's a shame those scenes exist.

ShunJoo Oct 26 2025 9:27 am Binged watch in a day! And I just want more.... T_T I could watch this like forever~ It's sooo good you wouldn't skip a bit, even the intros. I say this is a masterpiece. From the casts to every bit of detail in making this wonderful series. The way they present the episode through each chocolate on the Rainbow Palette.

They didn't feature Mont de Matcha chocolate tho, could've been another episode. Hopefully there'll be season 2. Please!!!

Props to hyojoo her japanese is very good! Just watch it you wont regret it. This drama will make you smile throughout. What a masterpiece!

I found myself constantly smiling while watching. Truly magnetic and heartwarming + chocolates! My heart completely bursted during the last scene of episode 8 (KS and SJK!). Looking forward for a season 2!

After watching her many movies and dramas you'll appreciate her more here. The details in showing the chocolate making were divine. Must watch until you get to the final scene!

The actors are so comfortable with each other that you can tell. I have always been a fan of Shun Oguri, one of the very few Japanese actors who are worth watching. And Han Hyo Joo, atau can I say? I read somewhere that she decided to spend like a year in Japan to improve her japanese. That's dedication to you. The only grief I have is, why do they have to make her look so unattractive. You can be a sociophobe but why the cliche, she obviously still has her sense of wanting to dress up nice, that part where she dressed up for her dream date. I have been waiting for awhile for Shun Oguri to pick up a romcom again. Finally! This is too short!!

The chemistry between the two leads is adorable and heartfelt, it's a very well done enemies-to-lovers trope. I knew Han Hyojoo was talented, but her Japanese in this drama sounds almost native at times, it's insane. Oh, and the filmography and scenery shots in this drama are VERY beautiful.
