Sujuelf12 Jan 14 2025 1:54 pm I think S2 is good. In S1 everything was unexpected, but in S2 we knew the gore factor in the series already. However I did not like the fact that the players thought of attacking the frontman, i mean come on.... the frontman has got like a million of guards to keep him safe and yet these pol think they can outnumber the security and stop the game. That was a dumb step imo. Except this, the season is good. It is slightly funnier than the previous season, but equally good and interesting characters. I think the captain of the ship is doing something fishy... and there is some twist coming in the season 3.. I hope they don't bring back cringey English dialogues and unnecessary adult scenes in S3. Overall 9/10 for S2 Also for the cliffhanger part, I think it as a 12 episode drama split into 2 parts. The second part (S3) will release soon I guess

Woah Jan 04 2025 4:49 pm Omg! I loved it. It started off kind of slow and can be distracting in the very beginning with story line and jumps, but man, once it gets rolling, so good!! I didn't want to watch it and put it off for a long time, but then I needed something to watch so I gave it a chance. Omg! My heart was racing and beating so fast during the games and the storyline is really surprisingly good. I stopped halfway through the last episode, so I'm still not finished. Young-Mi!!!! ????

Ika Jan 03 2025 5:23 pm I really don’t think season 2 is that bad. I was not expecting another season 1 story wise and none should. There are obvious loopholes to the story but its weaknesses are not something found only in this season. There are many detractors but I know quite a few who speed watched it within 2 to 4 hours for the whole 7 episodes and said they hated it. I can understand if one gives up after certain episodes but not those who watch it with a fast forward button set to four times the normal speed.

The writing of S2 is a more glaring problem than the casting. Gong Yoo did an amazing job. I didn’t know he was able to improve so much and for such a small cameo role. He really is like wine.

Despite some problems S2 remains an entertaining watch.

Ddeonu Jan 02 2025 12:20 am I marathoned all night watching this. For me, this is just as exciting as season 1. The game is also exciting. and it doesn't have to be the same as season 1. Only 3 games have been revealed, there are 3 games left Again, I'm curious what season 3 will be like. Oh yes. but it's a bit unfortunate that Lee Jin Uk's character was killed even though he only appeared briefly. It would be a shame for the child if he found out that his father died that is, if the child is still alive. I was suspicious of friend 456, I thought he would be a traitor. Turns out he was good until he died. very sad.

KNG Jan 01 2025 5:21 am TBH I liked season 2. I don’t know why people say its disappointing and how it focused on the characters rather than the games like Season 1. I liked how it focused on the diversity of people that joined the game. The different reasons why they joined, the different situations they are in. The recruiter and game-master see these people as trash, menace to society. But Gi-Hun wants them to understand that some of these people joined the game because they were just victims of the society. And they’re just trying to make it. Season 1 focused on the game, but its nice that Season 2 focused on the characters. And nit to mention, BEST CASTS EVER!!

Ella Dec 30 2024 10:48 am Instead of using his money for revenge without a proper plan, Gi-hun had so many better options he could have chosen. For one, he could have supported the families of the people who died in the games, helping them cope with their loss and providing for their future. He could have also invested in programs or charities to help people in need, giving them a real chance to escape their struggles without risking their lives.

If he still wanted to do something connected to the games, he could have created a fair, non-lethal competition where people could win money or prizes, but without the violence. Or, he could have started a business or project that created jobs and stability for others, using his wealth to make a positive difference.

Instead of focusing on revenge, Gi-hun could have donated to mental health services for the survivors, helping them heal from the trauma of the games. He could have also built a foundation for the victims, working to prevent something like this from ever happening again.

At the end of the day, his daughter should have been his priority. He could have used the money to create a stable and happy life for them, rather than chasing after an unrealistic and destructive path. There were so many better, more responsible ways for Gi-hun to use his money, but instead, he chose a reckless and selfish course that only caused more harm.

Ella Dec 30 2024 10:44 am Season 2 of Squid Game really disappointed me, especially with Gi-hun's character. In the first season, he had the chance to redeem himself and fight for something bigger than himself. But in Season 2, he acts recklessly, trying to be a hero without thinking of the real consequences. His decision to rally people to risk their lives in a rebellion without any clear plan or solution is so selfish. He didn't even consider that the people joining him are still likely to lose everything, with 60% of them dying and the rest walking away with nothing. If he truly wanted to make a difference, he could have found a way to help the people escape, or at least made a game where everyone had a chance to win without risking their lives. His actions just felt hollow and inconsiderate, and honestly, it makes him seem more like someone trying to justify his own guilt than a true hero. It’s frustrating to see such a missed opportunity for his character to grow and actually do something meaningful.

Maybe they want make him look like another type of "thug character" like on season 1, but sorry that not even close... too much not important scene, like just skip it. The acting on season 1 is much better. I was doubted the cast when seeing the line up before, i hope i was wrong. But yeah, i think i was right. Idk if the scenario is weird or their acting is weird

Red Flag Dec 29 2024 1:51 am Saw some TikTok edits saying 333 loves 222 just because he "saved" her or voted X for her. Did we watched the same series? He wants to get back together because she's familiar, they're ex's, there's the baby (as an excuse) AND he wants her money. Jun Hee even recognized this and said this to his face. How could that be love?

And maybe they're expecting them to get back together just because they have "chemistry" hopefully, if they both get out alive (in S3), they won't be together and she won't be fooled by whatever gestures he does.

He already have plans on how to invest her money. Lol

011 Dec 29 2024 1:43 am I feel like the pink soldiers/shooter 011 will play major role in S3 along w/ 246 (the dad of the child w/ cancer), maybe she's the one that shot him, but it's not fatal. Along w/ 120 and the rest of the remaining characters. Also, some cast seemed like cameo but I feel like they'll have bigger roles in S3. Maybe DaeHo will overcome his fear/PTSD whatever it is.

Why do they have to split it into S2&3 tho, it wasn't an ending (w/c a lot of ppl are mad about) but more like a season break cliffhanger. But I'm sad about his friend dying too, he didn't even mentioned that 001 killed someone during the mingle mingle, from then on, I thought, oh 001 won't let him live.

Also the pink soldiers didn't think of just shooting the frontman who clearly didn't care sacrificing them, maybe that'll come later at S3, when they decide to revolt too.

Hero Dec 29 2024 1:34 am Gi Hun isn't really a smart character, is he? He was lucky winning S1, plus the help & sacrifice of other players.

During the 1st game, he trusted the players to line up & not betray each other & get killed (of course Thanos pushed his line) but anyone from Gi Hun's line could literally do the same so, really not smart (but fine, he has the protagonist plot armor wouldn't die from that), still, smart. Especially later he knew, he knew, ppl will try & kill each other so he stand watch at night.

And then sacrifice a lot of lives to let the riot go for long so they could ambush the pink soldiers. I mean, it's kinda consistent to his goal -STOP THE GAME- not save lives but it's so risky, so yeah in the cliffhanger of S2, that's what he gets.

It kinda boils down to the rivalry b/n frontman/001 and 456.

Of course the other side stories are sad & annoying at the same time. The son voting to play another game, knowing his mom could die. And also showcasing again & again how ppl are selfish but also regret it at the end.

Idk if I didn't like the acting, or the character. He just seems overacting especially at the start, it went more natural at the end.

ok Dec 28 2024 11:34 pm This movie is honestly good, not as good as s1 but very close enough to keep me watching till the end. I like how each ep kinda ends in a good way to keep you questioning what happens next. Some characters are well written and uhh yeah some aren't really. Its hard to recall and build a connection with some of them like the crypto guy, I get his lore but not much action in this season so hopefully he does something more. I love the writing of some characters ngl like Hyun Ju and the Mom, gotta be one of my favs.

Ngl a hot take but I don't really hate the ending. It reflects a lot on player 001 and it makes us remember who he truly is after all. It also teaches gihun the consequences of being a bit too naive and heroic when he has little power against a superpower. I don't get why people hate it (I'm not saying ur opinion is invalid just confused) because it's meant to be annoying and confusing to build up for the 3rd season. I get your disappointment because like 3 years for that but thank god the next season is in 1 year.

sofie Dec 28 2024 4:51 pm once again, as in all korean series because somehow men are into that, an unnecessary almost ? scene in episode 5. seriously getting sick of why this needs to be included? also was really rooting for hyunju and then they give her an unnecessary violent scene which obviously enables the harmful stereotype that trans women especially are aggressive and a threat. 5 episodes in and I'm still waiting for the story to get properly started.

Gk Dec 28 2024 2:11 pm I seriously don't know why these people are overreacting!! They have announced that there will be season 3!!!!! It's not like this is literally the end. There should be some sorta suspense/cliffhanger so that the audience should be engaged with the series.

If the series is more serious or traumatizing, y'all complain that it was too serious, violence bla bla....if the series is somewhat funny....u guys complain that it should have been serious...why was it funny? Bla bla.

This shows that the audience will never be satisfied with what entertainment is being provided.

Teuk Dec 28 2024 1:12 pm 1. Many unwanted characters. Not interested in Thanos and his group. Including the nose ring girl and coward boy. Those scenes can be cut off. 2. Gun fire scenes are long. Gihun idea of attacking snipers. Dumb. 3. Pregnant couple: Made me look forward to their deaths in the games. Pl don't glorify pre-marital pregnancy. 4. Boatmen, wingmen, policeman: Left unanswered. 5. 001 was best character. Played gihun well. Why he didn't suspect him by his player number. In part I, the old man was 001. He was villain. LHS=RHS. Is gihun weak in maths?

Overall, was okayish. Will rate 2.12 out of 5.

Rae422 Dec 28 2024 5:36 am Defending cliffhangers just because it's a netflix show is so dumb... so many shows have stand alone seasons that have actual endings. Seasons are seasons, not episodes... and the ending is not even the main problem of this show, it's just full of plot holes.

Lenny Dec 28 2024 3:40 am Season 2 was very underwhelming to say the least. They added an influx of new (unneeded) characters and tried to make them relevant within 7 episodes. I think the director focused too much on giving all these roles to these known actors/actresses without much thought to the point I didn't really feel any sort of feelings/attachment towards any of them compared to Ali, Saebyeok/Jiyoung and Oh Il Nam in Season 1. Matter of fact, a handful of the new main cast are useless including Minsu 125. We didn't need his screentime and we could've focused on other important characters to know more about them like Kyungsuk and Hyunju. We also don't need 2 family/relationship storylines. We could have done with either Geumja+Yongsik OR Myungki+Junhee. We didn't need both. Again, that would've saved more time and gave more attention to develop other characters stories/background. Also as much as I love Park Gyu Young, we didn't really need to have a plotline for the Squid Game staff. There was so much different storyline plots going around (Gihun's, Frontman, Junho/Police + Fisherman, Noeul + other SG staff, + all these new characters stories) that left so much more questions which is why I could say at least 60-70% of viewers felt disappointed in the ending.

Anyhow if anyone noticed, they changed the tone of the story this time around. It's a lot less serious than the first one and what I mean by that is that they are trying to make it more comedic. TOP's obnoxious character trying to be "funny" (I didn't laugh at any of his scenes, just rolled my eyes lol) and then adding victory background music during the racing game??? Also some scenes of them being cheery and chummy with each other despite, you know everything they went through seeing others get killed? S1 everyone was serious and on alert.. there was no time for others to be all laughing and giggly with each other. But this time around... it was okay? IDK. Episode 7 was terrible as well because it was literally all of them enacting on a poorly thought out plan that came out of nowehre and pretty much it's at least 15+ minutes of them shooting guns/bullets in the air.

Park sung join really ate his character,I like how he’s different from his character in queen of tears,he is my favorite Barbie girl…lol This thanos also ate his character,I hate him so much and I wanted to kill him off myself,but his character is still funny and it made me laugh a lot. Player 100, that greedy old man with ten billion debt wtf…can they just kill him already. The old woman also ate her role. I mean everyone actually ate!!! They did well I really like this season.

Because we all know there is season 3. So just be patient guys. About the story line, overall this series was so soo good and more thrilling than season 1

But I'm sure that they have planned something really great in season 3. They wouldn't just spoil a blockbuster series who have global audience. So let's just have patience till season 3 drops. Overall the drama was really good and the games were interesting too.

This season was more funny and less traumatizing. The makers had already told in an interview that season 2 will be a little different than season 1. Hence I don't have any disappointment towards S2.

Let's just hope for the best in Season 3. Fighting!! ✊

An Dec 27 2024 1:58 pm I'm still pissed with the story. What's wrong with the writer. I could write more logical story lines. (contain spoilers). First, Why doesn't the main character learn from the past. He made so many bad decisions. Secondly, the players, in the second game they cheered for one another tho they actually want to earn more money which is others being dead. Third, the police man, the only character that I love, was also dumb, why didn't he sense that there's something wrong witb the boat owner.

Season 2 gets draggy and boring especially 1-2 episodes. And it supposed to be a thriller and i don’t find having comedy genre sit well in this kind of show, especially all the slowmo and some 80s music background genre during the games. I don’t understand why all k drama must have clown as part of the show. Is just so unnecessary. the character of TOP so irritating and unnecessary. Overall, is good to watch because of season 1. Otherwise i think 6/10.

Gomathi Dec 27 2024 1:38 pm Thank you first for shooting series with less brutality. But the color haired man antics were eye sores to watch. Characters were shallow and did not stick to us. The mother-son combo was good to watch. The pregnant girl and her sleepy face was irritating me. The transgender man was interesting. The marine guy with ponytail was behaving like teenager. The ship captain was sus. Might be the one helping to sell stolen organs. Crypto guy and his bullies took too much unnecessary screentime. Voting scenes were put in to create suspense. But it created sleepiness inside me. The scenes of them stealing guns to fight triangles was so ridiculous. Are they mad? I understand them. Trying to do something. But it's like searching for a needle in haystack. Hard and pointless. The hero ended up killing everyone who sided with him. I hope he will now rest in peace. The granny saved the trans man. Thankfully. She also held her son from going into fighting. I wish we all have such a wise people in our life. We should listen to them at right times. If only I had a wise person in my life, who had prevented me from watching this series, I would have had a peaceful relaxing long sleep instead of watching this one.

They already planned this, that's why the episodes are only up to 7 episodes.

Waste of time Dec 27 2024 3:42 am Please don't waste your 7 hours precious time watching this. This series again shows the hypocrisy of the male lead. Too many open loops, which the director didn't care to explain or close. Maybe he thought this is enough for the audience. Just a lazy writing and the series did not live up to the expectations for sure. Few characters were completely annoying. The drug rapper, his minion, the shaman just to name. The crew on the boat were just fillers? What a waste of such a beautiful storyline. They could've easily gone up to 12 episodes, with the plot they had. But the director got tired and decided to stop at 7 episodes? The male lead also is just stupid through the past 3 years. No character growth. Also the guy whose boss got killed by Gong Yoo. He's over the top acting and it was annoying to watch him on screen. I felt most people on the show were doing over the top acting just because this series has global audience. And TOP was too much on top.

cel Dec 27 2024 3:04 am I am so disappointed in the ending and I wonder if they will have another Season for this? I like it that the games have differed from the 1st season and it's not that brutal. But why? Am I expecting too much from it coz the first episode tells us that the lead character would want the game to end so I thought that It would be the ending? And why the character of the triangle soldier is a lady. There's too much questions unanswered in this Season 2. Mukhang minadali ba ang season 2 kaya di na nakapagisip ng mas magandang plot ang writer at directors? Well, bawi nalang tayo sa mga actors and actresses na gumanap!

wonielob Oct 22 2023 1:42 pm So people saying the drama is taking too much time because there's no story to continue, idk how good s2 would be but it's literally common knowledge if you watch kdramas that it takes time to completely shoot a drama and if it's a high budget drama like squid game it'll take around a year or more, it's the same for many dramas like moving and all of us are dead, it takes time to make the set, the actors and actresses have other schedules too so that's also a reason, and because all the episodes will be released at once they have to complete the shooting of all the episodes, then they'll edit it, and there're some more things the production has to do and when the show will be completely done editing and all, only then they can release it.

You know, like the Four Seasons' Korean dramas that are unforgettable classics. This series departs from all of that! Just horrible, sorry. If the devil could write a Korean drama series it would be this one. Dark, evil, mass murders, no redemption, no humor, no romance, no sweetness. I don't care if every Korean actor I love appears in this series I won't support it. What a shame.
