Go Tae-Rim (Jin Goo) is a lawyer. He is arrogant and makes biting remarks, but he has a 100% winning rate. He can't even imagine ever losing a case and winning cases is the most important thing to him. His attorney's fee is obscenely high. Meanwhile, Seo Jae-In (Seo Eun-Su) is a gung-ho rookie lawyer. She wants to help clients trapped in unfair situations. Seo Jae-In realizes that lawyers who do not win cases are useless and she decides to work with Go Tae-Rim.

Gina Mar 19 2026 3:46 am I have been watching Korean dramas, and so far this drama, High Legal, is the best one I have seen. I watched all the episodes, and the storyline and casting were very well matched. The actors fit their roles perfectly, which made the story more realistic and interesting.

While watching this drama, I felt that it shows how our society can fail when the justice system does not have the right judges. It also reminds us that, as human beings, we can easily be tempted by money and greed. The drama portrays these issues in a very realistic and powerful way.

I really enjoyed watching this series, and I believe the story should continue with Season 2 on Netflix. The writer did an excellent job creating this story, and it feels unfinished. I hope the writer continues the story so that viewers can see what happens next.

So I have to wonder, in ep 12 at 20 minutes in, is the pause to look up at the tall building with the sunglasses on a nod to Hyena. (And hyenas were mentioned earlier in a different conversation). And because I took training in Burbank at 3in1 where we learned facial traits, was the ep 13 at 8 minutes a nod to that? It was an international school so likely someone in S Korea took the training. Gumsahabnida! Also I absolutely love when Mr Gu went out of phase before he accessed ‘the other side’.

Almost every character was irritating & despicable…the violence, gratuitous…the themes desperate & jumbled. I kept telling myself, the characters are really actors which I guess is a vote for their skills. That all said, this drama deserves to be retired so it can Rest In Peace. Everyone worked hard and deserves at least that recognition but alas it wasn’t the finest moment for a K Drama. Sorry ?

I'm only 30 minutes into Episode 1 and the main actor really irritates me, his acting is over-the-top it makes the scenes frustrating to watch - I'm not going to continue, there are far better series to watch on Netflix - I think I'll watch the episodes from Physical 100 again

It seemed like Min and Bang were more involved in a crime, but Min can continue her practice. Meanwhile Tae-rim cannot anymore? Can someone enlighten me?

Although I like the story, the background sound is so much louder than the actual conversations of the characters. It's not just the background sound being too loud, there's too much of it. It seems like a student has used this drama as something to practise on.

King Sep 05 2020 1:48 am I am a huge fan of the original series so I was excited upon hearing about a Korean version. I am throughly disappointed. This one drags on so much and the comedic timing is bad. The female lead is so weak. The male lead makes way too many unnecessary actions for his character. There are many direct references to the original but they are poorly executed and at times beaten to death. If you are a fan of the original skip this one. If you like to see a Korean twist on what is an amazing series by all means give it a try.

lalala Jul 31 2019 1:42 pm I watched the Japanese version many years ago and was super excited to find out about the k version. WOW. This drama is just... spectacular. Awesome character developments, but every character also stayed true to themselves from start to end. Not much romance, which I enjoyed, yet the two main leads were amazing together. Side characters got adorable mini romances that I highly enjoyed. I absolutely loved it!

Casting is amazing - Seo Eun Soo and Jin Goo - an unexpected combination but worked oh so well. And this drama wouldn't be complete with the adorable Mr. Gu.

Ahhh. I really enjoyed watching this so much that I would only watch part of an episode at times. Great content.

A hidden gem and one that flew over almost everyone's radar. I loved it.

SPOILERS:

There was definitely a 'something' between Ko Tae Rim and Eun Soo but with so much content to tell, I guess that's something they chose to pass on exploring. I would love to see a second season with the same cast and a deeper exploration into our main characters' lives.

The acting is amazing and it’s definitely not predictable and cliche. I really want the leads to fall in love tho. While it's true that the acting isn't that spectacular but personally I think they want to portray light comedic image here instead of some serious stuffs. And just saying it's a cable drama so single-digit rating is normal.

She does do a convincing drunk scene, though. The writing is uneven and the storylines are all over the place. This is a below average drama and the ratings bear that out.

Popcorn Feb 23 2019 3:44 am What i love about legal high is how depth the characterizations are for every person involved in the drama. They are well-connected to each other and their actions even though difficult to understand and the beginning, you will be able to put the pieces together one by one for how good the flow of their story is. I might've expected more scenes during the actual trial court because this is a drama about laws and the people working for the law but their lives on their offices and how they deal with their own personal conflicts together with their responsibility as lawyers makes it enjoyable for me especially by the antics and funny moments they have even though it does makes it ridiculuous for laywers to act silly or maybe i am just stereotyping lawyers to be uptight and stiff, hahaha.

On the downside of the drama, i hate the Seo Jae In's character but I think she well-written. Her character has been like a life of a snail who closed herself from the realities of the world because of her family's circumstancies and how she had to defend herself at a young age. Of course, i would hate her idea of justice and how she thinks the poor are always wronged or how the powerful are always the ones who abuses. She already sets her mind on the clients before actually digging up the case for herself thats she's conflicted as to whether her first client, her childhood friend is the actual murderer or not because she grasped on her memories with him and didnt actually tried to find circumstances on both sides. She just looked for evidences for his side to defend him. I think a good lawyer should be about gathering everything from the evidences to protect the client and to find the other 'truth' on the other side that might put the client to jail. She got sentimental and thats why she doesnt know the real truth/justice when its something that she's been insisting to have on her trial case. She's so close minded and a drunkard. All her frustrations always end up with her drinking and embarrassing herself instead of actually trying to work. She's been so hooked up with the pig case incident that she doesnt care about her own client that she already judged as a pervert based on what she thinks she knows and not what she has to find out as a lawyer.

I've been continuing to watch because Jin Goo's character is an enigma but her character is so annoying that I just want to skip out whenever she comes on screen but of course, am waiting for the day for her to shut up and think about the words Tae rim has been saying to her. I hope for a character development for her.

One of the reason is...why the main lead has so little screentime? I barely see his scene along the drama than side lead.

I think the failure by all aspect: script, directing, and actors (acting). I was pretty like Jin Goo's acting at first episode, he could maintain the bold and annoying character of Komikado first, but later i think he lost it... maybe caused by little screen time.

red Feb 17 2019 8:35 am This is a good and funny drama, but i still hope they will not include romance, just focus on what make the jdrama good..and for anyone going to see this, just dont make comparison to the drama that they remake from, and you will be good to go and enjoy..I am not saying that comparison and opinion are not important, but sometimes just enjoy it as a separate identity and you will be stress free :) just my opinion

KMaikee_G Feb 11 2019 1:43 am One of my fave Kdramas is Ad Genius Lee Tae Baek... It had some comedy and it made me cry a lot as well so I'm not really that adamant with Jin Goo playing this role... JTBC makes really funny dramas and I haven't seen the Japanese version of Legal High so I have nothing to compare to at this point... I'm at episode 2 and so far I'm loving it and how Jin Goo acts here... tho I may have some bias coz I love Jin Goo... Heheheh

Kingdrama Dec 14 2018 11:32 am I think we should wait the outcome first of the drama before judging it base on Actor/Actress, its too early to judge the cast and i think if they are professional artist they can adjust thier self into the character.
