Park Moo-Jin (Park Hee-Soon) and Kang In-Ha (Choo Ja-Hyun) are a married couple. Park Moo-Jin works as a high school teacher and Kang In-Ha runs a bakery. They enjoy their lives with their children. Their peaceful days soon turn into a hellish experience. Their son, who is in the 3rd grade of middle school, is seriously injured due to school violence. Park Moo-Jin and Kang In-Ha try to reveal the truth.

Meanwhile, Oh Jin-Pyo (Oh Man-Seok) and Seo Eun-Joo (Cho Yeo-Jeong) are a married couple. They are both from wealthy families. Oh Jin-Pyo is the chairman of a private school foundation inherited from his family. They have never experienced failure or lacked anything. They have a son who makes trouble. The parents coverup for their son's misbehavior.

hera Nov 06 2021 5:17 am I’m sorry if what I wrote is too messy but I’m crying while writing this. Best Drama Ever. The most realistic drama I’ve ever watch. It’s kinda scary if you think every single thing that happened could very much happen in real life. Even if you feel the character’s action is too exaggerated, when you rethink about it, it would be perfectly acceptable that the people going through something like them will act like that in real life.

And needless to say, Inha and Moojin relationship is the most realistically healthy relationship that I’ve ever watch in a drama. Their characters are perfect for each other. When one is down, the other will hold them and vice versa. Joonha once said in the drama that Seonho’s parents are made for each other and I couldn’t agree any less with that. I really hope I’d found someone like them as my partner.

The worst parties in this drama would be the parents. Until the end, they’re so brazen and shameless, that it’s a pity they have children that would learn from them. It’s even sad to think that these people exist in real life.

Like other commenters said, this drama would not be suitable for binge watch as it will consume your emotional side, so if you want to watch it, better watch it slowly unless you’re impatient with cliff hanger ending like me lol. i finished this drama maybe in a week because that’s how good this is.

If you want a realistic and emotional provoking drama, this is the best for you.

Farry Jul 12 2021 12:19 pm I am here to tell that this is such a brilliant drama. Not a binge watch material due to the focus for emotions, philosophical things (idk if this makes sense), but definitely a must watch. I'd give an 8/10. The story was kinda repetitive from ep 1 - 8 but from ep 9 everything went roller coaster mode and i freaking love it.

The actors are fantastic, especially the young ones. Kim hwanhee, nam dareum, seo donghyun especially. Joo sukje too omg i love his scenes. He probably got the most relatable working role having a dilemma between sticking to your conscience or following by the orders.

The best part of the drama for me is the way everyone had their own issues and managed to overcome it. Except for jinpyo.

Would really appreciate if they made the early half of the drama a bit faster so then by the 2nd half we'd get happy endings of the side characters too (mostly my greedy thoughts) like the aunt and their homeroom teacher, donghee seungho, the reporter and detectives being besties, dongsoo with both joonseok and seungho.

Additional comment is about this drama being compared to sky castle. The genre being a family drama if the same but the focus is on different issues. This one leaves a more warm, showcases close to heart topics while sky castle is more about dark themed, exposing the rich vibe. These 2 dramas are pretty far if put on the same scale of thrill and intensity. I love both tho :3

So I watched sky castle after watching it and to be honest, Beautiful world has a more realistic story and more natural and believable characters. The conversations are so real, vivid and touching. The drama is more concise and direct to the point; in Sky castle you get bored for a while. I'm not saying that Sky Castle is a bad drama... But wonderful world is a better drama.

Your heart will break to when you see her crying when her son being kicked and punched in video. My friend recommends this series, I like it. Some compare this to Sky castle, but it's different. Sky castle is more about ambition to be the number 1, while this dealing with bullying among students. How parents of victim and bullies will react when they know the fact.

Ciepao Jan 06 2021 5:30 am Since I watched the K-drama Sky Castle first than this drama, I can't help too think that this drama is just another SKY Castle too. If you watch sky castle it is almost the same as this drama, These dramas are also both under/shown in JTBC. As expected, JTBC is really good in genre about family, education, and youth (SKY Castle, Beautiful World, At eighteen, etc.).

The actors and actress who played the characters are awesome, especially Kim Hwan hee. The OSTs are good too and after I finished watching this I felt warm. And I also like the family, friends, and siblings relationship in this drama.

although in my opinion, the plot is too slow and some parts and episode gets boring.

I'll give this drama a 6.5/10. If you want too watch this then go ahead, but for me I prefer SKY Castle than this drama. But both dramas are awesome.

Ron Lim Dec 11 2020 10:58 pm The less than impressive viewers' ratings for this drama did not do justice to the superb acting performance of the cast especially Choo Ja Hyun who played the mother of Sun-ho. Also it would be remiss of me if l do not mention Kim Hwan-hee for her very touching role as Su-ho, the victim's younger sister. Although now an adolescent Hwan-hee was noteworthy in many past serial dramas where she accredited herself with difficult roles of a traumatised child or a wayward daughter, all of which showcased her young but sensitive acting talent. As Su-ho in Beautiful World she has again lived up to her reputation as a player of sensitive roles. I love watching her facial expressions.

Sayya Nov 03 2020 10:41 am I was debating whether to watch this or not for a year and yesterday I decided to give it a go. Oh...I really can't think of words to explain about this drama. What I expected from this drama and what I actually got is 100% different. This drama is really deep. Super super deep. It would be super hard to keep watching this on marathon but I did because each ending is a cliff hanger and my patience level went to minus. I've been trying so hard to keep my tears but the OST over the moon made me almost scream. They portrayed everything perfectly. A grieving mother, a grieving father, sister, aunt and parents trying to protect their children. This drama is on another level. Second best and most emotional drama full of advices after Hi Bye Mama. There's no clingy romance or basic bullying here. This drama has bullying but there's much more feelings hidden in it. Your curiously will go up as it's about to kill you. Your anger will go up as you're about to explode. Your sadness will go up as you're about to scream. One word for this drama, Perfect! But One Warning: This Drama Is Extremely Deep And Painful To Watch. So Keep That In Mind And Watch

Imagine if you were her, how would you act? You would be emotional. But as humans our emotions come out in different forms. Seonha's mum is tired and fed up with all the lies surrounding her only son's death and they know the truth but can't prove it. Do you know how horribly painful that is? Maybe you haven't experienced it so it's not normal. Maybe you haven't been hit by reality how cruel this world this. So please don't say she is trying too hard, she is simply putting her self into an extremely difficult role. In fact, she is one of the main characters and plays her role perfectly. I have no idea now why you hate her acting, just put yourselves in her shoes and then judge. The incredible acting is what makes this ten times more intriguing.

Yes, this drama is worth to watch but prepare a tissue box for every episode.

the genre focuses on Family, School Violence/Outcast and Hierarchy which is heartbreaking and makes you mad.

The actors for this drama fit their roles perfectly, even the small roles like character Han Dong Soo makes a huge impact in the drama.

Every episode just gets more interesting and sometimes frustrated because the truth is always hidden.

The plot is great, I am a fan of Kim Hwan Hee so I started watching this drama but the parents of the main actor in the drama have such great chemistry which grows on me.

So watch it and you will understand why the ratings are increasing every week

It might be sad and makes you mad but watch several case in korean news made me think this could happened. And even bullying issue needs to get some spotlinght so we can learn about how to handle it.

The message, acting department is great(their emotion shown), cinematography(you can take a lot of screenshots and it's good), you can get many quotes, and the main ost (this song really bring the emotion and touch your heart. Nice music nice lyric) so far the best ost for this year.

Age should not be a decisive matter in such cases. If you hit someone hard enough to break a bone why should it matter if you are 15 or 25 or 55?! Kids these days are not as innocent or ignorant as 100 years ago. They commit crimes knowingly and make complicated plans like the Mafia! Laws that excuse the under-aged just bc of age should be abolished!

They can turn to evil due to their selfishness and stupidity, particularly when raised as the only child in a affluent family.

Rich vs not-so-rich. corrupt power holders, bootlicker school officers, unpassionate police. The teaser was fascinating and soaring my expectation, but disappointed with how the story is written. mars Apr 06 2019 6:15 pm A lot of people seem to be backing out since this show seems to be a ride full of frustration, anger and heartbreaking bullying. Albeit the show itself is great so far. It is executed very well, with great acting, good actors, music and story. Other than that, the drama is showcasing a reality in our world. I personally find shows like this to be very insightful. I become more aware of my surroundings, the people, and feel the urge to aid the cause in some way. Whether it may be in our local communities or through social media, I think we can are capable of a lot together, and shows like this can serve as useful tools in understanding problems to improve/solve. If you are in a mood for a light-hearted show, then maybe yes, this is not for you right now. But I believe that shows like these should definitely be seen at some point as they are so powerful. Not to mention, JTBC is known to make them very gripping and interesting.
