Shinsuke Kuwano (Hiroshi Abe) is in his 50's and he is still single. He works as an architect, has a good appearance and earns a nice income. Yet, he is cynical and has strong pride. He has a comfortable single life. One day, he visits Lawyer Madoka Yoshiyama’s (Yo Yoshida) office for consultation.

gumbo Apr 20 2022 11:02 am Like the development from the first season. I understand that the story may be less charming than the first season's, but it's reasonable for the older Kuwano. The core of his quirkiness is well rationalized in this season; Kuwano just had his way of being reasonable, but it's too far from the social norm to have someone understand. The key to be comfortable with him, when he is more than 50 years old, is to be openminded with him, making the ending feel more sustainable. In the first season, this was left to attraction between main characters, which was more romantic, but also less clear.

I think the character of Kuwano is developing in this season, the quirkiness and his odd is less, but it means he learnt something from the first season, he more care with people around him with his way. He admit that he believes in love even though not believe in married which I think it’s explains the ending.

Patricia Jan 05 2022 10:24 am I was so excited to see season2 only to disappoint myself dr hayasaka is not there. I didnt finish the ep1 in S2. Characters in S1 are more attracting and more unique.

MAJDA Nov 26 2020 8:00 am I prefer the second season, I remember when I watched the 1st one somehow I forced myself till the end but surprisingly the 2nd one was actually better and the characters were warmer, and Iooked up to each episode and the jokes were easier to understand.

Steve Jul 27 2020 7:31 am Love the amount of consistency between the 2 seasons despite the 13 year gap. They actually got the same apartments (or very similiar) and also some of the furnishings are exactly the same. Note that this is again after 13 years. No small feat in my opinion

The plot of season 2 is quite the same as first season (almost 85%) but worse. Some behave of Kuwano is not make sense to do it again since he did in the first season and knew the result already. Why he did it again in season 2

the new characters' face is not unique and stand out like the first season especially Madoka Yoshiyama and Saki Tonami. They are look nice but not charming like Natsumi Hayasaka and Michiru Tamura

JPDramaLover Mar 18 2020 7:16 am if you liked the original do yourself a favor and avoid the Part 2; there is barely a material for two episodes max and then it goes down the hill - even Abe Hiroshi cannot save this piece - there is no plot, dialogues are void, and non-sensical situations are created to drive the narrative; and there is also not so subtle agenda of promoting China -- food, props (e.g. lanterns), clothing, etc. is all over the place; very forced and with a hope it can ride on a success of the Part 1. avoid

Amana Prateek Nov 05 2019 12:27 am I don't think it's overrated, it's just that we really wanted the first season to continue but instead of doing that they made an entirely new season, added a few more characters and so on. It was just hard to accept the changes suddenly, and while it can't be compared to previous season and how amazing it was, it is still an amazing show I would love to watch. Kuwano san is Kuwano san after all, I loved his speech in e01, made me cry.

Helo Oct 25 2019 9:12 am Disappointed where is Yui Natsugawa. I wish they had continued their story. I won't watch this one. Even the first season I think the show was pretty overrated. It wasn't even close to what many people were praising about. I just watched it for one of my favourite actress Yui Natsugawa. She is so pretty.
