Bio

Born in Hong Kong in 1966, Yu Lik-wai graduated from Institut National Superieur des Arts de Spectacle, Belgium (INSAS) in 1994, majoring in cinematography. In 1996, he made his directorial debut documentary Neon Goddesses which won awards in Japan, France and Hong Kong. Yu made his first feature drama Love Will Tear Us Apart in 1999. The film was selected in the Official Selection (Competition) at the 52nd Cannes Film Festival. His second film, All Tomorrow's Parties (2003), was selected in "Un Certain Regard" at the 56th Cannes Film Festival. Yu, also a cinematographer, has been actively involved in productions both in Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland.
