Cha Dong-Tak is a detective in pursuit of justice. A swindler's spirit takes possession of his body. The detective and swindler's spirit cooperate to solve cases. The detective falls in love with a reporter.

"Two Cops" takes over MBC's Monday & Tuesday 22:00 time slot previously occupied by "20th Century Boy and Girl and followed by "Tempted" on March 12, 2018 (a rebroadcast of "Behind The White Tower" aired after "Two Cops" and before "Tempted").
Han Ji-Min was first offered the lead female role, but declined.

a Feb 13 2021 11:27 am great plot on the mystery side! the tension and unraveling of the main case was great, as it has the “predictable/unpredictable” combination kind of tension. CDT and GSC were great! tho i didn’t feel that much chemistry between character CDT and SJA, felt like the romance plot was a bit unnecessary?

kudos to JJS and KSH, enjoyed their acting this drama. hopefully they could be casted in the same drama again, great chemistry!

The way she speaks on her line. She's not funny at all. I imagining what if the main lead is Park shinhaye or other great actress. I might enjoy the series. Hyeri is too bad in acting.

Female_human Dec 11 2020 11:51 am Just finished watching it. Don't think about this drama as a romance one. The romance is awfully developed and doesn't really support the action/mystery of the story. Song Ji-an character isn't really important or necessary for the main plot to develop. Honestly, it makes me think that the writer writes the action/mystery plot first then add revision and make it have some romance in it to attract more kdrama viewers (mostly females who love romance genre). Also it might be why many people feel hyeri's acting here is awful, I think it's because the writer sounds confused as well as how to develop Song Ji-an character to fit the main story.

Short comment: A nice attention gripping action/mystery drama but the romance is very awfully and awkwardly developed

pong borobong Oct 11 2020 8:40 pm and i know the reason why the chemistry between hyeri and jo jung suk doesn't satisfy the viewers. as a kdrama fans, i recognize that chemistry will appear if the plot is supporting it. the writer nim did a very good job for the main plot which is crimes, but she didn't support the love chemistry between 2 characters. they will have a good chemistry if they meet often, but dongtak and ji an doesn't really meet often and doesn't really have funny or romantic lines. thats why. i watched all of jjs drama and he has good chemistry w/ all of his partners so, for two cops, it's the writer fault i think

pong borobong Oct 11 2020 8:35 pm this plot is actually really well-scripted!! this drama is like.. once you watch ep 1, you cant stop untill last episode. it's really addicted since it's about crime and the action scenes are as good as in movies (jo jungsuk nailed it)! both jo jung suk and kim seon ho act sooooo goooddddddd here!!! jo jungsuk is the type of actor who can play any-role! not like most famous k-actors who can play similar characters (it's actually boring). he can play funny, charismatic, cute, bad guy, dumb guy, playboy, literally everything! this is what you call a good actor is. not just handsome dude -_- and about hyeri, i dont think her acting is bad, the haters were too mean. it just that the role doesnt really suit her cause she has face like crazy fun (in a good way lol). i think the director should've chosen a more charismatic and calm actrees tho. like 5-6 years older than hyeri. bcs face is important for a role. so pls dont judge hyeri here!! i know she did her best!

But, i have always been a huge fan of jjs so i tried to start watching it again 4 days ago and now done!! in my opinion, honestly i'll give like 8.5/10 this drama storyline is so crazy tho! its so cool that u can't expect the killer. im still amazed with the writer nim to make such a complicated case. and the bromance of jjs and ksh is real! ksh did make it funny too lmao. and pdnim u should've been appreciating jjs hot body adding more jjs shirtless scene >< wtf my brain. he worked out a lot that his body is ughhh! no comment for jian lol

I watched it because of hyeri but I think the role doesn't really suit her or I just hate the Ji an character? Hahaha I dont think her character is not really necessary haha I just love to see more of bromance the detective cha and gong soo chang.

if the director wants a love line between leads , im honestly okay with it but ji an character really makes me like ugh ????? they should have focused on the bromance more imo.

theturtle Apr 03 2018 9:05 am Another drama to add to my top list. I never got bored and it kept me wanting to watch more and more.

There are a lot of times this made me laugh so hard and made me become so nervous enough for me to scream at the characters (I'm usually a silent watcher), and the romance between the characters never made me cringe. In fact, it got me smiling from ear to ear whenever a romantic scene comes up (I rooted for real Cha Dong-tak and Song Ji-an from the start). But I also loved the small story between Detective Dokgo and Ko Bongs as much as I loved the leads'.

Aside from the plot, Cho Jung-seok totally had the show wrapped around his fingers. You could tell how great of an actor he is with how he performed the switching from the serious Cha Dong-tak to the funny Gong Soo-chang and vice versa so well. It's like there are two different Cho Jung-seok playing the roles. I even asked, "Was he this good? I knew he was good, but not THIS good." He has my respect for his performance.

NOTHING BUT COMPLIMENTS FOR THE DRAMA. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! 10/10 - crime, mystery, action, supernatural, comedy, romance

Migthy Thor Mar 05 2018 10:18 am I understand that writer Byun Sang-Soon is trying to create a fantasy romance comedy drama, however I feel that it would have been better to just separate the character of Gong Soo-Chang from Cha Dong-Tak. I mean instead of continuously moving back and forth with the character of Gong Soo Chang, the writer should have stick to the individuality of the two characters, once or twice is okay but repeatedly, OMG, it becomes boring and predictable. It loses the essence of the story and becomes so annoying. And I just happen to really like Cha Dong-Tak and Song Ji-An. and with Gong Soo Chang, it becomes so irritating . . . (the writer- Byun Sang-Soon, should have learned from Bruce Joel Rubin (writer of the movie GHOST, after all, it seems to have patterned the story from it adding just some variables and twist).

I seldom leave any comment for the drama i watched, but when i do, that means i have something that i want people to know about that particular drama. So as for this one, i'd give 9.5/10. This drama is one of the masterpiece! I like the plot, it's unusual yet acceptably enjoying! I like the balance between the mystery and comedy. For those who are about to watch this drama, stay objective (don't let harsh comments here affect you cs this is a great drama). And don't expect much romance while watching bcs romance ia not the focus here lol.

Talking about characters, the lead CJS is daebakk as always. He's multitalented i can say. And ofc, he portrays the character cha dong tak very very well! I believe that everyone agrees with me on that (maybe) hahaha but anyways, i can't imagine anyone else playing the character better than CJS did.

Kim sun ho. I first saw him on strongest deliveryman and was freakinly shocked that he is a new actor cs he did well in that drama. And i'm beyond glad to see him given the chance to play a good role in two cops. He's also amazing like CJS. He deserves to be in line with CJS ikr. And i really hope that he'll be on more dramas after this.

Okay, for hyeri, i like her and i first know her as deok soon in reply 1988. Yes she did well then. But i'm a bit disappointed with her acting this way around. I know that she can do better and i believe she can. So i hope everyone would stop judging her and instead, start to give her positive words :) that's the only way she can improve in the future (with support from others). i don't blame her bad acting alone though. I think the character song ji an itself is not strong enough (maybe bcs this drama doesn't emphasize on romance).

- - but overall, i recommend this drama to be watched! Brighten up ur day by watching two cops! Lol :') and congrats for the production team, u guys did very well!

Its was worth watching I like that they didn't focus too much on Romance there was something in the ending that hopefully this will get a Season 2 Tak Jung-Hwan was like sending his son a secret message on the day of his prosecution while talking to his son he suddenly changes his tone and behavior also there was something in the line "you have been well taught". Another thing I taught Tak Jae-Hee was a perfect son but NO his hiding his nasty personality that we saw in during his teenage life.

The Bromance between Cha Dong-Tak & Gong Soo-Chang was so awesome that am hoping they are friends in real life. They both did a wonderful job especially to Cho Jung-Seok your impersonation was Daebak! Hoping we will see more of Kim Sun-Ho he has a lot of potential.

To Lee Si-Un I have seen him play so many roles yet you still take amaze me your so perfect in the role of a good thug hoping you will get more project like this.

I felt bad for Hyeri a lot pf people are bashing her on the way she acts at first her acting was annoying especially when makes silly faces and the way she delivers her lines it felt like she was rapping but as the time goes by she was improving. She need a little workshop but otherwise she is good.

) I just Finished the drama... all i can say is... The story is good.. the chemistry between the female and male lead is a SO-SO. No excitement and no romance at all :). But then what you will love in this drama is the chemistry between Jo Jung Suk (Cho Jung-Seok) and Kim Sun Ho... Jo Jung Suk is known for his acting.. excellent! He has his own style and he can delivered every role he took. but Kim Sun Ho is superb also. The award he got is really for him. He is a rising actor.. he will do good in every role he will take. Congratulations to the writers and actors.

drama-expert Jan 20 2018 4:32 pm If they have to bring an i-dull in this kind of drama they should be only for small parts because they lack the knowledge and experience to act, that's why they can't get into character unless it fits their own in other words acting cute and laughing for nothing etc.. while real actors are being ignored and i-dulls taking their places due the hype for the kpop Korean drama will gradually loose it's quality and becomes as dull as the dulls in it. Good directing and cinematography though still haven't watched much so script wise can't say anything.

Simglo Jan 18 2018 4:23 pm The beginning of episode 31 was really hard to watch, Gong Soo Chang crying heartbroken was too much for me, I really felt his pain. I was scared of what was coming, but I loved the ending and my fears were unfounded.

Gong Soo Chang's sense of humor is what really made this drama fun to watch. Kim Sun-Ho totally deserves the awards he got. I was never quite a fan of Cho Jung-Seok (not that I disliked him before), but I really liked him in this. Unlike some people, I do like Hyeri in this.

First of all, great story. It unravel so well and I like figuring out the connection throughout the drama. At first you think, oh it's this guy that's bad and then the next episode proves you wrong. What a great drama. I know some people had problems with Hyeri being the female lead but she wasn't that bad... okay maybe in the beginning but her acting is actually okay mid to late drama. This drama wasn't really focus on the romance. I mean it's there but you can tell, the focus on the story and the developing friendship between Dong Tak and Soo Chang. I wish I would've seen Director Tak punished more harshly but it's okay. He don't need anymore screen time. I loved it. Great, happy, & cute ending.

One thing I don't get though is why Lee Si-Un is marked as a cameo, because I personally consider his character Yong-Pal quite an important character and he's in a lot of the episode.

Bunny Dec 23 2017 1:51 am I could see hyeri improvement but her tones still bother me...it not her fault that producer like taking idol as lead actress as it promosing rating no matter how lack the character deliver she just doing her best...it hurt me cause there was alot young actress to get lead but unable to get the lead since the producer dont see their value in their performance...and we they choose idol with lack of skill and get critic the blame will put on actress shoulder of course they got paid for it but it still so much pressure till time when the idol itself dont know how to do and trauma with the audience......so till the producer or management dont change or take risk to take new young actress and actor who had potential as lead role there always been new about idol get leading roles and get critic for their unexperience skill but why it still happen due to chance they will get good rating despite it....

Back to hyeri she can improve a lot in the future i hope by acting with her senior she able to be learn how to deliver the character better in the future

Unless, the reporter is supposed to be an inexperienced one...

Su Dec 11 2017 11:11 am Hyeri is definitely a good actor as i xan at least conclude from here last drama that i watched which starered Hyeru t was Reply 1988 but i was not able to watch Entertainer i tried watching it only because of Ji Sung and his finomial acting skills in all his projects but it was sich a was waste maybe others must be having a different view than i do so no offense. But i would say this is not Hyeri's best work she can do much better and i hope i can see her again with a better drama and a little bit of a better acting skills. The Two cops has a good storyline but the weak casting has made it unbearable to watch. Though i know Cho Junk Seok is a good actor i really loved him in every project. I really do wish this drama could have had a better casting as well as a little better story line,not soul changing stuff which is super old and viring atleast to me so that i could have watched to the v end .

But what’s annoying me the most is the body switch... I don’t know why but it’s really working my nerves. Actresses with very goog skill which match with Choi Jung soek could ne Yoon eun hye ( coffee prince ) yoo in-na ( my secret hôtel) Lee ji ah (Bethoveen ). I don t have opinion before watching a drama so when i choose a drama i choose actors .a good storyline can t be watched if actors are bad( you have difficulties to finish the drama) but when the storyline has some lacks with good actors the drama can be still watched. Some actors have to be directed so it s the works of directors and sometimes directors are bad... I hope they re going to choose a real actress which can enter in the rôle . Some actresses play always in the same way so we watch the actress and not the character like the main actress in "she was pretty"she has the same glance the same tone the same behaviour like IU.
