Kwon Shi-Hyun (Woo Do-Hwan) bets his life on a dangerous game to seduce Eun Tae-Hee (Joy). His target is 20-years-old and believes people that are swayed by love are pathetic. After Eun Tae-Hee meets Kwon Shi-Hyun, her view on love changes.

Based on 18th century French novel "Les Liaisons dangereuses" by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos.
Early Korean working title was "Love Game:Widaehan Yoohok" (literally "Love Game: The Great Seduction").
Yeo Jin-Goo was first offered the lead male role, but declined.
First script reading took place January 16, 2018 at MBC Broadcasting Station in Sangam, South Korea.

Jane Aug 24 2022 5:39 am The story of this drama is really not interesting. Boring from early episodes. It is also seen that the behavior of students in Korea is lacking in manners. It's a shame, in Asian countries there are still schools that don't have manners to teachers and bully others.

The actors is fine but waisting their qualities in such drama. Sorry bad entertainment.

From beginning i loved how they had good friendship eventhough they are doing bad things. I agree after Tae Hee get in their life its getting boring and lame. Main actor falling in love with 2nd actress. Si Hyun should not leave their friendship for this boring Tae Hee. You should put more strong actress or strong character actress than Soo Ji. I think Soo Ji and Se Joo more stand out than the main characters. They should develop all these characters change to better person eventhough they had toxic relationship.

This is my first time finished one drama in couples of hour. I skipped alot ShiHyun and Tae Hee parts. ? I just watch Sooji, Se Joo and Si Hyun part only. Soo Ji really good at potray how she feeling and Se Joo characters are more strong and enjoyable. Si Hyun characters become really boring after he falling in love with Tae Hee. I really don't like Tae Hee cause she is plain and had nasal voice. I don't like Joy acting cause her voice really not suitable she had nasal voice and it is quiet annoying to watch. But i really love Red Velvet.

Alina Jan 26 2022 4:59 pm If Taehee didn't appear, the drama would probably go down in history because the plot (the trio) was so interesting and different from other typical kdramas but then the writer just has to be a typical writer. Shi Hyun acted like the victim and blamed his friends and was so self-centred and just abandoned his friends for a girl he knew for a short time. He did not become a better person because of Taehee, he just liked someone who didn't have troubling issues and struggles like his friends. He broke SooJi’s trust and dumped their friendship for Tae Hee. At the start of the k-drama I was intrigued and interested however after Taehee was introduced the story focused on TaeHee and SiHyun and it was boring, dull and I just lost interest. I've read some of the comment and I think many people did not understand Soo-Ji's character. The only person she truly trusted hurt her and left her just like everyone else. But wouldn't you feel the same way? Imagine that your best friend since childhood throws you away because he met some girl.

"How can the same person look at you in two completely different ways How can the same person changes in such a short time How can the same person look at you like you're something so special and they can't live without you and then look at you like you mean nothing to them" ?

This k-drama had potential.... such a shame

glen Dec 19 2021 3:13 pm I think they went too easy on these three characters who were extremely nasty people - what they did went far beyond mischief and pranks - they broke people's hearts and livelihoods for no good reason at all. It was only because Shi-Hyun fell in love that the cycle was eventually broken. Suji in particular should have been punished far more - she was vicious to the core and had no redeeming qualities. I am puzzled as to why Shi-Hyun's mother would lie about his paternity - even if she left with him that would stigmatise him for the rest of his life - not a good idea. I think they spent too much time on the endings of secondary characters and not enough on the reunion of the leads.

Anylee Dec 12 2021 8:24 pm 5/10 bc its plot was messy and badly executed but Gayoung carried the show. Her acting was amazing and She knew how to portray her feelings to the audience. Kim Minjae was good and convincing too. Dohwan was a great seducer but He couldve done better. I felt bad about Joy. She needs to improve her acting asap. She didnt understand her own role and couldnt express her feelings well. It played a big part on how confusing and plain this drama is.

Like she's the most selfish, egocentric and annoying character on the show and such a blair waldorf wannabe. But I really liked the actress, she was so good at portraying the antagonist of the show. And since she was the antagonist how on earth y'all decided to ship these two? Seriously, who hurt you guys lmao any decent person would want shi hyun and eun tae hee to end up together or just want eun tae hee to become an independent woman without a man, as she should

I liked Joy's character Eun Tae Hee as well obv, usually in k-dramas the main girl lead is too good and kind and ridiculously shy to stand up for herself and never speaks up -which I HATE- but ETH was a strong character and expressed herself well, I really admired her attitude. And she is a really good example of how relationships should work, she trusts her bf and doesn't let others to affect their relationship and always mentions that if sth is important her bf would explain her rather than someone else.

But I still don't get why Shi Hyun wasn't straightforward towards his so-called bffs, they were incredibly toxic and it didn't make any sense when Shin Hyun wasn't cutting them out of his life or at least putting a distance, or be more clear to them, that plotline was dragged a lot in the middle episodes of the show which was unrealistic, a normal person would stop the abuse of soo ji and se joo. Their dialoges and their overall relationship were way too dramatic??? Like y'all just graduated from high school what's up with all this attitude? And the playboy stuff with seo joo and shi hyun was embarassing to watch?? you guys are just 18 years old children, y'all supposed to get stoned after a couple of beers but they are drinking whisky and stuff, Super Unrealistic lollll

Also seo joo's personality lacked a lot, he only existed with soo ji's plotline which was unfair, I think his character needed more depth.

Anyways, I think this show is worth to watch and the main reason is the amazing chemistry between the leads, I couldn't decide which one I would want to be lol but the wattpad-like plot is kinda cringy

Don't listen to others, watch the drama and give ur opinions... I think the reason why a lot of people wanted soo ji (moon ga young) to end up with the male lead is because she's a popular actress which they've seen b4. If she really loved him (the male lead) she would have accepted his proposal/love which he showed her countless times. The situation was just so stupid, imagine claiming u love someone and sending that person into the arms of an innocent woman (to seduce and hurt her feelings) just because the guy u were interested in hurt ur feelings and likes another, you then send the one who likes you to seduce the woman which the guy who hurt you has feelings for, like that's so messed up cos she could have just accepted him (the guy who truly liked her) and moved on buh she didn't, then after the guy who truly liked her started to have feelings for the person he was supposed to seduce, that's when she started showing little interest and she still didn't tell him how she truly felt cos she couldn't accept that she did like him... The truly pitiable character was eun ta hee cos she had to go through so much (drama) due to the three people who came into her life with malicious intentions

Jheng Aug 14 2021 10:23 am I just finished watching this drama and omg! I loved it so much! Good thing I didn't listen to those who were saying it's not a good one. It still depends on the person's preference and as for me, I really liked it. The twists and turns of the story are the things that kept me going plus I love the main character's chemistry. They really look good together and their actings are superb! I didn't knew that Joy's (Eun Tae Hee) could act lime that. I want to watch more of her dramas now! Kudos to Moon Ga Young too. She really nailed her villain character. Though it seems like the ending was rushed, the overall series is really great and I hope there will be season 2. I really hope! Aaaaaaaaaaaaah!

Both, what a great performance. The first time i see Woo Do Hwan playing and i liked his acting a lot. A good storyline. I recommend to watch it, you will not regret it.

What Jun 21 2021 6:11 pm First of all, i don’t understand with people who hate this drama so much. I know the storyline get dragged too much but overall it was good. Joy’s acting wasn’t as bad as people potrayed it to be.

Second, why people defended Soo Ji and Se Joo’s action? They’re both so toxic. I find that Eun Tae Hee is the most mature character. Si Hyun was bad at first but ETH is the only one who can bring the good in him and try to accept his friendship. It’s Soo Ji and Se Joo who can’t accept that people can grow up and change.

The most disappointing thing was how Se Joo got so blinded by his love for Soo Ji and justify her bad actions. It shows that Soo Ji and Se Joo were selfish.

I really like ETH character that potrayed strong, smart, and independent woman despite everything that she’s been through and all the past trauma that she had, she can grow out of it.

Last thing, just because you think moon ga young is prettier or anything, i think Joy is perfect for ETH character and i really rooting ETH and KSH to be together (i expect a final kiss at the end of episode) but it’s okay, they wrap this drama pretty nicely.

You guys should open your mind and rethink about storyline, idc if you still don’t like it but seriously, it is not bad at all.

I probably would have but I have heard a lot of people say that the plot goes downhill and gets frustrating so I just quit before that could happen. I though the main couple was really cute even though they didn’t have great communication. And sooji was really getting in my nerves.

I liket Shi Hyun and Tae Hee, more Tae Hee she was such a great person with so much love to give. They all played jus great their roles. A different drama that brought something new not the same old story to the poor girl and the rich boy. The "friendship" between Shi Hyun, Soo Ji and Se Joo was not a real one, the thing that amazed me when I read the comments was that most people don't even know the difference between something real and something unreal. Many comments said that Tae Hee broke the friendship between Shi Hyun, Soo Ji and Lee Se Joo, the truth is that no one can break something that never existed. If I had to give a grade to this series, I would give it a 8.00

The acting was superb. I wanted to hit and kick kwon shi hyun, wanted to slap the shit out of choi soo ji and i loved how strong and independent Tae Hee was. Not forgetting how sorry i felt for Lee se joo who hid behind his playboy persona.

This should've been a movie not a series. Everything was dragged for too long. It was awful. The cast was great but the plot was awful. I'm so disappointed.

The only reason i watched this series was because of Joy.

It started off well, thought there was an interesting plot building and then come the last 5 or so episodes, an absolute train wreck. I literally did not understand the story line at all. There was not one time my jaw dropped from excitement. I felt like everyone’s story was incomplete and rushed and there was just no need for that silly fight scene at the end in the den that added no real purpose at all. Very cheesy, I wish I could’ve liked it more. Only plus is a good looking cast lol.

Jane Mar 31 2021 10:45 pm at first i thought this would be okay to watch since the casts are pretty familiar. and i love gayoung so much so i really want to watch all her projects. but then i realized how toxic everything here. the friendships, the relationships (both the parents and the children).... how do they sleep at night???? All the lies, the games.... the revenge and everything hahaha. Well trauma can be a reason for you to get a hold on some things in your life, but it can't be the reason for you to be mean people, right? What kind of person you're gonna be is always your choice, and if you let your trauma to drive you to do mean things, then you are making a bad choice. and i dont say that Joy can't act, but she definitely needs to improve! She couldnt yet transfer the emotions to the audience, whenever she's sad or happy i couldnt feel it with her. But for the simpler scene, her acting was okay. And for gayoung, doo hwan and min jae, their acting were superb! i love the trio, just not loving their characters!

I don't like her when she wanted to have a revenge on her ex boyfriend by hurting innocent girl... like? She and and her best friends literally ruined Taehee's life with their game. Not just playing with Taehee's feeling but also her best friend. How fcked up the trio can acually be? I don't care if you all have traumas or issues in your life but why used other people as your punching bags? And Sihyun character is so shitty. He told Suji he only like him then didn't make it clear to Suji when his feeling changed so again she took it on Taehee and made it like it's Taehee'a fault Sihyun fell in love with her when it was part of the plan? Make Taehee fall for Sihyun. The ending too was so unsatisfying. If I was Taehee I wouldn't look at Sihyun the same and would take so much time not just 2 years, to accepted him back in my life tbh.

Mai Jan 24 2021 9:28 pm I honestly don't really like this show much, I guess it has to do with my personal experience but I couldn't stand Si Hyun. In the process of trying to prove that he liked Soo Ji, he goes and falls for a plain boring girl like Tae Hee, and then he tried to convince Soo Ji that he likes her only and there's nothing going on, I honestly wouldn't care if he prefers Tae Hee but why go and lie to someone else making them believe you have feelings for them when you actually don't, especially when you've known her for such a long time. It just makes me sad because I think about when I got cheated on and it's such a hurtful thing to do to something like that. Not only was he lying to his closest friend but also he was also pretending nothing was going on to Tae Hee, if you like her so much then why are you ignoring her in front of Soo Ji? I don't know this just triggers me so much, I hate indecisive guys like that, I'm done with this show. Everyone is continuously leading people on and then cheating, It's just the same cycle and it keeps reminding of the shitty ex I dealt with.

Taengook Jan 18 2021 4:10 am I can’t understand why a lot of people hate this drama. For me it’s quite good. I both hated and liked some of the characters. The Si Hyun, Sooji and Se Ju trio for me is adorable but I hate the fact that they deceive and fool innocent people just to have their so called revenge and satisfaction. I understand that they are struggling with their own lives themselves but it would never be a valid reason for them to hurt people such as Tae Hee. I felt sad that their friendship were damaged but tbh I think that’s their punishment for everything that they did. For me their friendship is toxic, selfish and immature. Si hyun is the first to realize that and so he changed, the three of them have their own lives, feeling betrayed by Si Hyun just because he changed and found his happiness with Tae hee is selfish.

She's so basic and bland, Shi Hyun was a playboy who's had many girls and I refuse to believe that he will fall head over heels in love with such a plain character that's also annoying. Soo Ji on the other hand did many bad things and got people hurt in the process including herself, especially herself but she did it to not lose anything further than she already has, her anger and pain and sadness were justified even though her actions weren't, much more than oh so pure eun tae hee's. I loved se joo and shi hyun's friendship. I LOVE Woo Do Hwan but I am I continued watching the drama I couldn't help but be SOoo MAD at Shi Hyun, he blames his friends constantly as though he is completely innocent, as though he didn't have a hand in hurting tae Hee and so ji did everything alone, boy! It started with you! I really didn't like that eun tae hee and shi Hyun ended up together but the lifelong friends sort of seperated, tae hee came in between them and I hate her for it.

This drama is one of them , it plays with your emotions . I think this drama has a great plot and when it came to the last few episodes I can promise that someone with a human heart would really cry. This drama is so cool and Woo do-hwan is the best for this character just like his performance in ‘Mad dog’ .. And I am looking forward to dramas like these from Woo do-hwan ?

I'm at Ep. 20 right now but I just couldn't stop myself from expressing how much I LOVE Joy's acting .. Hers and Do Hwan's characters have amazing chemistry that I don't find in lots of K-dramas, that just makes me wait (pretty impatiently if I might say) till their next scene together.

You guys better watch this, you won't regret it. ❤️

But i keep watching this because i like the 4 characters. The romance is too much but it help me to keep watching because their sweet chemistry during all the boring storyline. The story about 3 crazy rich Heirs try to being mature is kind of relatable they actors portrays the characters well which being a reason why i keep watching this drama

But for some reason, I just finally jumped and watched it. And you know what, I couldn't stop watching it! I don't get why this drama has so much hate/dislike. It's one of the most memorable dramas for me and I definitely loved it so much. So if you're one contemplating to start this drama, I highly suggest you give it a try. It's not as complicated as a lot people say.

When I first watched it, it was mainly because of Kim Min Jae because I love the Dr. Romantic series so much, and also I have just been so curious about Moon Ga Young because of her pretty face. Before I watched it, I really didn't expect much from Joy, again because of the negative things I've read about this drama. I really didn't expect much from her. But as I have observed on the first few episodes, I would have to say, she's not terrible At All. I was actually surprised she knows how to act well and actually forgot that she was a kpop idol. Honestly, to me, she seemed like a decent actor. She's also my favorite character.

I think, Joy's character was someone who was mature and not annoying. She was not easily pushed around and she knows how to speak her mind. ***spoiler*** --- I really loved that she was the first one to confess her love for Si-hyeon. To me, that shows a lot about her character and that's definitely one of the things that made me love her. *** end of spoiler *** And then there's Si-hyeon who was just lovable. There was so much growth to his character and boy's got a heart of gold. And of course I love KMJ and MGY characters too. Really incredible acting among the 3 bestfriends.

Although I do agree that the story was little bit complicated IF you would compare it to some kdramas. This is not the cute type with overflowing rainbows and butterflies. But it wasn't too much that it really made my head hurt and that I would want to stop watching it. *ahem extracurricular* (this is what's complicated af) I also really liked how much screen time the main couple got. They spent a lot of time, and had a lot of cute moments. This drama shows what real and good relationships are. How the right person can bring so much good to your life. ETH and KSH are just meant to be together!!

To me, everything was actually interesting and everything was wrapped up nicely in the end. No loose ends. Although I can't believe *** spoiler *** it took them 5 years to finally come around and get together again. But at least they did. I was almost scared they wouldn't end up together. *** end of spoiler *** And finally I wish the 3 friends had like a final scene wherein they finally made up and accepted ETH and became happy for the main leads.

Jan Oct 12 2020 3:44 am One of the worst dramas I have ever watched. I've watched around 60+ Kdramas in the past 6-7 years and I have never been so disappointed with a show before (other then Cheese In the Trap).

(Spoilers ahead)

First of all, the plot was very messy and too complicated. I feel like they should've taken out some parts and simplified it so it was more enjoyable and easier to understand. They just kept adding more and more on which made it really unrealistic, and a bit too cliché in my opinion.

Second of all, I disliked Tae Hee from the moment she was introduced on the show. She came off as plain and not as outstanding as you would expect the lead to be. This is especially because Si Hyun was known for being a player, and not caring about hurting other girls feelings so Tae Hee being able to make him like her seemed very unlikely. I don't want to hate on Joy for her execution of this role, but I wish she had added something to her character to make her intriguing or interesting to watch. I also found myself disliking Si Hyun as well (even though I love Woo DoHwan) as the drama kept progressing. He became extremely selfish so fast and abandoned his friends just for a girl he hadn't even known for long and didn't even appear to have a strong connection with her. If he had been honest for even just a bit at the start or understood why his friends were upset with him then their relationship wouldn't have collapsed at the end. I just really disliked how Si Hyun was blaming them the whole time as if he wasn't doing anything wrong. Plus they're his best friends, it's not like they were strangers that didn't know anything about him. I just generally wished the trio had stuck together or got back together at least, and the main plot hadn't switched from being centered around friendship to the typical sappy love story. Additionally, Si Hyun and Tae Hee's chemistry almost seemed non existent to me so the payoff wasn't worth all the drama.

However, one thing I really enjoyed about this drama was Soo Ji's character (I really liked Se Joo and the side characters too). Everything about the story behind her character and the execution of her role made me love her so much. I could feel all her emotions in every scene she had from her hatred to her sadness. She can appear pretty evil but her actions just made sense to me even if I wouldn't have done the same in that situation. I was so compelled to her and wished she had more screen time and we got more of her and Se Joo's story. I just think Moon Ga-Young is such an extraordinary actress, I can't wait to see her as a lead in her upcoming drama this year.

Anyways, this drama caused me more stress then happiness. I wish the writers put more effort into this show because it had a lot of potential. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this drama to anyone.

I wanted the second leads to get a good redemption arc but that was ignored for the romance. The romance overtook everything and wasn't really worth it, I found myself skipping over those parts with the two main leads. The actresses and actors were good, but the story didn't do them justice.

Moon Ga-Young nailed the bitchy character, to the point that I really hate Choi Soo Ji. The love line was meh. I can't stand their on off relationship. Plus Eun Tae Hee is not an interesting character. They kinda break up a lot but she forgive and forget easily

Sooji' character is so damn good. She's powerful, cunning, and crazy. I just love her so much. I can't understand why people hate Sooji so much when all she has done is trying to keep what she has. And back than, Soo ji is the most hurt. And it makes me hurt too:((

MB Jun 21 2020 12:34 pm This drama has a very complicated plot. After seeing the first episode I didn't really understand what was going on. It got better later though. The rich kids trio was the most interesting part of the drama. I especially loved Lee Se-Joo and Choi Soo-Ji. Their relationship reminded me of Chuck and Blair from Gossip Girl in some ways. I prayed that they would get a good ending. Eun Tae-Hee wasn't good, wasn't bad. She's just not really that interesting character. I had no problem with Joy's acting. I think she did well, but I have a feeling that more "bitchy" character would suit her better. Also, whoever did her hair extensions in the last episode would deserve a kick in the ass. What the hell was that?

However, Joy's acting was really weak. Some parts I cringed a lot because her acting was just so bad. I feel like someone else would have done a better job and made this drama even better. Honestly, unless she gets some serious acting lessons I hope she never gets a leading role like this again. No hate to her personally, just her acting.

Besides that, it was very enjoyable. Mun Ka Young, Woo Do Hwan and Kim Min Jae were great. I would recommend this drama if you're into a good romantic comedy drama :)

1) story - full of kdrama clichés. For me it wasnt the actuall "drama" that annoyed me. It was the amount. Too many secrets that turn into misunderstandings and betray and sorrow. I felt like the story didn't flow. Whenever something should have developed something new happened and it kept hindering the natural flow of the story. Probably thats why some people say there wasnt much of a connectiom between wo do hwan and joy... it simply wasnt time to develop their relationship because the whole story was around why his mother died who was his father shagging when his poor mother was in hospital... i could even feel sorry for them. Too much shit going on dude. And the trio.. dont even get me started about them. They are all just a bunch of rich spoiled little kids because adults dont act like that. Ga young's character is probably the most annoying in a drama. She is self centred, an attention seeker and very very selfish. I skipped 85% of the drama and only watched the parts where the young ones were and just skimmed through detailed overviews of the episodes so i could understand better. I just hate the plotting that happens in every drama and bores me to death. I get this is more of a melodrama but i wanted to see the boy and girl have a real conversation and be more natural around each other but i couldnt because 95% of the drama was centered around the two other brats and meaningless company shit + past drama.

If i were the writer i would have put a bit of melo into it but not so much that it transforms into a hot mess.

The camera work was great, but the writing was too messy and they didn't manage to put emphasis on the right moments to build tension and story-telling. Many scenes seemed so useless and made me go "wtf, why did they show this? what was the purpose?". I get they tried to fit romance into a really messy, brutal story, but they didn't manage to make the romance nor the messiness justice. Half-a**ed writing. Too bad.

I didn't finish it 'cause I can't stand her acting. LOL. Practice, girl. I also hope casting directors would choose actresses/actors not because of their "fame" as an idol, model or what.

H Feb 09 2020 6:05 pm I have mixed feelings about this one. The plot of this drama and the fact that it was based on a famous psychological novel had me wanting to give it a try in the first place. I was expecting it to have a bigger impact on me, mentally and emotionally. It was not as deep nor as dark as the novel which was quite disappointing.

Also, as much as I like Joy, I believe they should've chosen a more experienced actress that knew how to express emotions well. I cannot stop thinking about that especially since the other three main characters' acting were on point.

I don't regret watching this though, I really enjoyed how they portrayed strong friendship (that had great chemistry btw) and how they can fall apart. I definitely believe this drama deserves a chance.

She was so.. blank! No expressions or anything! Same goes for her best friend!! I really like Soo Ji, Si Hyun and Se Joo acting! We can clearly see that they are in this for such a long time! It was around 5.5% but as time goes by, it gets lower and lower. I knew a lot of people stopped watching this drama the middle cause it’s not worth to watch anymore.

Surprisingly, I liked it. My only complaint is the ending.. I was hoping that the writer gave more about the two leads. But nevertheless, my 16 hours was not surely wasted.

I expected her character to grow stronger and more cheeky in a way she wouldn't fall for the mc literally quicker than I’d imagined. I personally think that the dialogues can be rad with much more power than ”I'm so shy” kind of act. Joy’s acting in this drama pretty much shown her way of transferring cute girl act like her previous drama. (I don't like this drama bye!)

I can see the reason why the ratings are so low, the storyline and the acting was fine, just a little bit too cringy for me, however, it just gets too boring because you kinda know what’s gonna happen next and the drama kept repeating the scenes, for example Joy character fell in love with him when she’s not supposed to and cry afterwards, then feeling the love again and crying again. I watch this drama at first mainly because of Joy and Woo Do Hwan, but Moon KaYoung was the reason why i continued watching, she has the best acting compared to most of them and I was disappointed at this drama because I anticipated a lot and I have high hopes, oh wells, if you’re bored you can always try out this drama. Well this is just my opinion.

I wanted to watch it just for Joy like I did with her first drama and I'm surprised that it was acually good! Don't listen to the people who badmouthed this drama, give it a go, it's a very good one. Joy's acting was very impressive. I highly recommend it!

The point is the characters - gotta love them for who they are. Haven't read the original novel by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos so can't say much about it. Anyways, this is a k-drama, with k-drama features. I will give it a go, and if I find it boring I might just rewatch the cruel intentions movie and shorten my time. No hate. I might also end up loving it so...

Ppps Aug 10 2018 5:51 pm Just an average drama....started with a lot of promise with some dark,intense and twisted characters....but after a few episodes the characters were mellowed down to fit into the typical stereotyped kdrama characters.....didn’t like the ending as well....too many things happened in the last two episodes.....the fist fights and action scenes in the last two episodes were completely uncalled for.....the director was clueless as to how to end the feud between the three friends and thus came in the action scenes as a saviour......Joy (Eun tae hi) was really not convincing enough....she lacked chemistry with the main male lead.....other actors too weren’t great enough....in fact, the friendship( howsoever, devilish maybe) between the three friends was more endearing to watch than the so called romance between the lead pair.....that is why, it was more heartbreaking to watch the trio drift away and never come together at least one last time to say their final goodbyes.....the only actor who really caught my eye was the actress who played the role of soo ji’s mother( Kim Seo Hyang)....she was really brilliant....her sufferings and pain seemed very real and her face has a lot of charecter....lastly, what could have been an excellent drama, turned into a typical teenage romance drama.

I like the cast, their acting skills weren't disappointing, a complex but quire interesting conflicts in between, and definitely better then some "youthful" drama i've watched previously. ? Joy improved A LOT in this drama compared to her first one, she worked on herself and delivered her role very well although she didn't take any acting classes and with a crazy busy schedule. The vibe definitely makes me curious, but I can’t stand the love pentagon that’s going on. It’s great to have conflicts and substance, but this is ridiculous lol

I didn't watch this before because, I thought this is not my type but it's not bad too . I love the vibe in the drama also supporting actors like Kyung Joo and Hye Jung also keep the story in track. It's not a waste of time also this drama is interesting!!

I have to commend their chemistry tho. Thanks to the male lead. Everyone else did great job in their respective roles. Overall, it's worth the watch.

just someone who loves dramas May 26 2018 4:31 am I don't understand why people are always criticising when a kpop idol acts in a drama. Why? Cause their acting isn't as good as others? Acting is quite a hard thing and at least, they're working hard for it. Criticising them would just give them lower confidence. Joy isn't a bad actor at all and I think she improved a LOT since 'The Liar and His Love'. Well, I literally I started watching this drama all because of Joy. But I didn't watch it anymore from the 12th episode cause the story sucked and I hate how those characters are always showing off their wealth and acting all high and expensive. It's too dramatic and annoying. Their acting was good but I'm really thankful that Shi Hyun was shipped with Tae Hee but not Soo Ji cause damn she was such an irritating character. This could've been better but the screenwriters messed it all up.

Ria May 15 2018 4:04 am The reason i watch this show is the trio sihyun-sooji-sejoo. And Moon Ga Young's acting was great. I enjoy sooji relationship with sihyun more than the lead couple. I mean, sooji is sihyun's first love, but sooji rejected him and wanna stay as best friends (that she thinks more lasting than love). But deep inside she loves sihyun. And there's sejoo, admires sooji but can only stay as best friends. Their relationship is complicated and i think it's more interesting to watch father than lead couple relationship, they are boring.

The ending to the story felt a little rushed towards episode 31 but episode 32 tied things up real good. A feel-good romcom that would make ever drama addict go awwwww towards the end. Sigh! I now need another drama from these leads. Can't wait!

kdrama addict May 08 2018 7:22 am just finished watching it after reading comments criticizing Joy and other praising her. as a kdrama addict for 12 years I can say Joy is really good as an actress despite she lacked in some scenes but in general she did a great job especially she had to deal with a messy script. they introduced her character in a way and I found it away different in the drama. so I think the girl deserves some appreciation. the drama itself I think if it had been made 10 years ago it would have been a hit but really the writer takes all the blame for the low ratings.she couldn't get how the korean audience prefer now. anyway I enjoyed the drama and I think the unbelievable chemistry between Joy an Dohwan was the only thing kept me watching it

Avi May 05 2018 6:11 am Camera and music did well to get us into the tension of feelings or scenarios. I really enjoyed this drama, Woo Do-Hwan voice was adding the cherry top to the miserable tearing feelings of guilt. He is authentic in each way, but his voice acting is as well very enjoyable :) Joy did well, but in some emotional scenes the impact was some what lacking, but overall enjoyed it. Supporting actors were good, but missed the tragic impact, enjoyed the happy ending but nothing much or life changing had happened with the cruel intentions of them. And sorry but I miss that the bartista had his head injured at the end what happened to him and his silly girfriend. :)

Jess May 04 2018 5:56 am I personally dislike it when kdramas cast idols as the main characters and I avoid watching the dramas due to the bad acting but I gave this one a shot due to the sexy plot;) and you can totally witness joys improvement as the story progresses. In my opinion she really delivered the lines well, especially during the final episodes. So as a person who’s really critical of idol actors take my word for it. She ain’t bad at all and I see a good future in the acting industry for joy!! The plot was a lil bit messy but overall I really loved the development of woo do Hwans character!! And oh my god his acting is spectacular,, where’s his Oscar?!

appreciation May 03 2018 3:29 am I think the cast needs appreciation for dealing with a messy script especially Joy whose character was the most messed up among the four. all of them are experienced enough to deal with shitty script except Joy yet she did her best to deliver the role. she's a newbie but could deliver the role in a satisfying way. ofc she's not the best but she did an amazing job. I think if the plot was better she would do better. what helped Suzy as a rookie actress was the good script. I hope to see Joy in more dramas in the future

Lee Ki Young is a real douche bag. You feel like strangling him. I thought the whole cast did a great job acting, especially Joy. For a newbie, she already has everything. She delivers her lines well and knows how to emote her facial expressions so you can see what she is thinking/feeling. I don’t agree at all with the people who wanted her to be more emotional/hysterical, etc. That doesn’t suit Tae Hee’s character or the mood of the scene. I thought Joy played her role perfectly. Looking forward to Joy’s next project in a lead (or supporting) role. She’d probably be playing a high schooler of college freshman role since she is in that age range.

Eventhough the main couple’s relationship is on off everyweek which kind turn off for me, but i still watch because of woo do hwan’s emotion and ship them, i like the happy ending for them but felt something missing tho.. i really ship sejoo and sooji and happy for them as they got together at the end, it just kind of sad that no scene the trio happy together even i know sihyun still care for them as he disclose sejoo’s address and he even build a place where i think the trio can be together(small cafe for sejoo,art gallery for sihyun and the music chamber for sooji)..The ending should be extended a little more for trio to show the strenght bond of the bestfriend,,well, i just my opinion..Anyway, good work for the team and wish them very best for the next project.. Fighting doohwan, joy, gayaoung and min jae,, joy acting might not be good but to me not so bad either, so keep it up joy.. should take more small role to improve to become a best lead one day... sorry for my bad english..

Then theres the issue with the parents. Really boring. I really cant stand this drama. Unlike other people who watches it for the actor or actress, i watch for the plot. And the plot seems promising at first, nice cinematography, then it goes downhill once the main lead started to date. Would not recommend. Bleh

And she really needs to work on her acting, she shouldn't have lead roles. I'm not saying that she should stop acting but she should go with the second lead or something like that. of course the plot was also pretty messed up.

I didn't think Joy and Dohwan (I really liked his acting in Save Me and Mad Dog) acting were bad, but to me, their scenes together and their characters were really boring to watch, they didn't have the chemistry. No offense but the plot itself wasn't too interesting, confusing, and twisted. Anyway, this drama version looked like Cruel Intentions (1999).

Young nowadays suffers emotional breakdown and adds up tha lack of family support so i guess, it shows a glimpse of what reality is with the rich kids. I like how the 4 young casts played their part. claire Apr 25 2018 1:56 am Yes, I know the tropes are there, familiar conventions et al, but still I find it my favorite drama at the moment, undoubtedly thanks to the actors and the plot which has become very k-drama like... Cruel intentions... It's definitely a Korean version of it, and I enjoy it. The Liaisons Dangereuses? Not really. No lurid sex scenes, no real deviousness, with the possible exception of Soo-ji's mother. It would follow a bit the Liaisons Dangereuses if in the end both Tae-he and Shi-hyun were to die. Frankly, I hope neither does.

I just HATE sihyun's character so so so so much, there's absolutely nothing to love about him. the trio was the only thing I liked in the beginning of the drama but now that they pitifully split just like that is terrible. the fact that the main guy chooses love over friendship always annoyed me in dramas and this one was no exception, it was even worse here since they were extremely close, sihyun just threw everything out of the window like they never knew each other, it makes no sense. I see no chemistry between sihyun and taehee, I see no life in taehee's character, so plain and so boring. the plot is very weak, I'm only watching for sooji and sejoo, the only two characters that are interesting and worth investing my time for. if they don't get a happy ending then the remaining 1/10 rating I would give to this drama would vanish aswell, and I hope sihyun gets a pitiful ending, he doesn't deserve to be happy, sorry not sorry.

I've never watched her drama before but in TGS, she's definitely nailed it! I don't say that she's perfect and i do agree that she needs a lot of improvement but here, she potrayed her character well! Not to mention our Woo Do Hwan, who is already super awesome in Mad Dog~ And dont forget, our second couple whom i ship a lot more than the main characters, Kim Min Jae and Moon Ga Young. So far,i rate 8.5/10 ? Btw, can anybody recommend any good drama that i can watch?

It's based on Dangerous Liaisons via Cruel Intentions (a terrible movie), but, instead of making a truly interesting drama with an unconventional source material for dramaland, this drama has all the old and tired same tropes of south korean dramas. Nothing new, the same tired old formula. Disappointing.

bella Apr 23 2018 8:56 pm this drama is uh unique in it’s own way. i love joy but i was not exactly a fan of her previous drama since her acting was well alright to put it nicely. some people mention that her acting remains the same in this drama but i don’t see eye to eye on that. i think her acting actually improved. sure, it’s not phenomenal to the point where i’d drop dead but it definitely got better. the plot’s a bit messy and gets confusing at time. the characters are all over the place. do hwan’s character is messed up in it’s own way. i just think that his character was not really developed in this story and it’s just i don’t know, feels incomplete. he definitely can act, if you want to see one of his works, mad dog all the way. his character in there was better built and he displayed it quite nicely. i don’t really like how it seems like everyone loves another person thing going on in this drama but i think that’s just my opinion. the only character whom i think is decent would honestly be sejoo, i feel like he’s so underrated and in his own way a good person. i love how he tries to maintain their friendship and be the person who’s constantly trying to make it better (i guess :p). i stopped at episode 20 and tried to continue on but honestly after that it felt a bit like a drag but i’d still try and finish it just for the sake of curiosity.

However, I don’t even care if they remain a couple or not, because realistically they are soooo boring together. Joy has this annoying blank but I’m sad stare/ or deer in headlights look. Terrible terrible cast for a role. Only character I like is Soo Ji, because her character is the only thing that’s interesting. Yes she’s evil, but she seriously makes evil soooo charming. Can’t wait till this trainwreck is over, and I’m just sticking around to see if everyone dies in the end lol

Let me tell you guys, I honestly like this drama quite a lot. It’s true there’s a lot going on, but for some reasons the characters are very special in their own way. I highly recommend it, you might not like itnat first, but you’ll end up liking it later. Jusr give it a try. P.S. Joy’s acting good, there are some cringey moments, but overall she’s good and a good match with Do Hwan.

I can make excuses for watching a really rotten drama if it meets some basic needs! This did in the beginning, but lost it's glitter after the 8th ep. Thank heaven for the fast forward button. Okay, that said, the story is poorly written, the dialog is repetitious, predicable, and down right boring in places...like ZZZZZZZ boring!. Really, these bratty, SELFISH, spoiled, and spitefully immature kids are playing at something they haven't a clue to understand, nor do they seem to want too. They are not nice kids, not even close. And the good girl is just too, too sicky sweet, lauding around with an attitude of 'I'm SO good don't misunderstand me...ever!...lol... Probably a very good drama for a mindless spin, but nothing of substance. Yeah, it's that good!...lol...

I mean, I have always genuinely enjoyed Tae Hee and Si Hyun's relationship, although I have to be honest, I did cringe quite a bit, and I found it annoying that they were always kind of breaking up and getting back together, but I liked their relationship because it was cute. And I've never really had a grudge against Tae Hee's character because I tend to be open-minded when I watch kdramas, I just thought that her character was very stereotypical which was okay with me. But after watching episode 24, I'm starting to grow a little bit of hatred towards her tbh. Si Hyun was always the one to chase after her, forgive her, and try everything for her without having to say much, but just because of what Soo Ji told her, Tae Hee completely turned her back on Si Hyun. Tae Hee says that she will always be there for him and blah blah blah, but she left him just because of one single thing. She says that it's hard for her to see him and that she feels like a sinner if she sees his face, but she doesn't think about how Si Hyun feels. He probably feels all of those resentful feelings too, but at least he's willing to try because he cares. I think just think it's unfair that she's willing to give up on their relationship just like that and not even try after all of the efforts Si Hyun has put in and after everything he's done for her. There are still 8 episodes left so I could completely change my mind, but as of now, I don't like this character very much and I also don't like where things are heading. I think it's so sad that Woo Do-Hwan's phenomenal acting is wasted on such a poor plot, same goes for all the other actors. I don't think there's any problem with any of the actors or actresses' acting, and I don't know why Joy is receiving so much criticism for acting, you can't expect veteran skills from a rookie actress who's still starting anew. But being such a big fan of Woo Do-Hwan and his past works such as Mad Dog, I really hope that he chooses his next project carefully next time, preferably something with action because he performs fantastically in action dramas.

Yes, their plans were mean towards taehee but I feel upset as a viewer that she is the final blow to a friendship of 3 people who really supported each other. I hope the writers give sejoo a happy ending. As for joosi, she is mean and manipulative but I actually feel more empathy for her than taehee. I feel teehee is just as manipulative as joosi. It is embarrassing how taehee threw herself at shihyun. I feel nothing but annoyance towards shihyun and teaehee' s romance. There really isn't any feeling of chemistry between the two.

I just feel so bad for everyone as there is always crying or someone depressed. And I fear we haven't even breached the barrier of bawling yet as the last episodes are always the most intense.

But honestly, the actors will be clocking up some solid experience in emotional acting after they've done filming this.

WOO DO-HWAN is a phenomenal actor, but his acting was overshadowed by the awkward lines and scenes. He could have had a lot of potential, but thanks to a bad script and awful directing I hope his career won't went down the drain.

But I couldn't keep up until 10 episodes because the plot is too mediocre or I guess, below mediocre? It's terrible. I'm sorry even Kim Min Jae cannot save the drama and I have to DNF it. I hope he will be in a better drama with better storyline in the future.

The cast do a great job representing the multiple faces of love and its many downfalls/upsides. There's a lot of crying in this drama which is a little off putting. Woo Do-Hwan is a good actor and I think this role is a little beneath him. I suppose it's all great acting practice.

First time watched her at the liar & his lover. Really like her at half of the show. But after half episodes, she really looks like an opportunist in love triangle story. I become dislike her and didn't care about the rest of episodes. So sorry to her, it looks like she always take wrong drama for her. But I don't think she has so many choice because she is not a top rank actress who can get the best scenario/director Hope the best for her!

I'm expecting Shi-Hyun to settle his feeling for Tae-Hee and their relation grow despite the troubles can creat Soo Ji because of her hidden love and possessiveness. There will be trouble cause by the old love between Shi-Hyun's father and Tae-Hee's mother. Also because SooJi's mother has something to do with the Shi-Hyun's mother death, supossed death in my opinion, there will be more tension and guilt relation between Shi-Hyun ans Soo Ji. Se Joo is a suprising factor in the movie with no too much clarity of his role, I suppose he'l be the final winner of Soo Ji. It's obvious that both guys were in love with Soo Ji, but it was more comfortable for all of them to be this way, close to each other, and support of each other in a world full of power combination and games. This rich kids started very early in the age to understand the game of power, and they practice it by themselves from the early stages. At some point they cannot be true with themselves. This is what Tae-Hee learnt from her parent's relationship and that what is she showing to Shi-Hyun. Kyung Jo is for the Tae-Hee's support and to help Soo Ji in her game, I don't see any other role-play of her. Any way I like the drama, even if some times I find it lacking in expressing all this more clear, I find it more difficult to see.

Eun Tae-Hee is suppose to be that character perfect student, boring and skeptical of love.

Kwon Shi-Hyun has always have a crush in Soo-Ji . But Soo-Ji always hava a character of hard to get as she assume that she will be more interesting to Shu-Hyun. If they fall in love as she is afraid that Shi-Hyun will leave her as he said everyone that she love will go away. She is afraid to loosing Shi-Hyun .

Shi-Hyun has mix feeling of his crush and his new love. However he is in love with Tae Hee more due to certain character (in this drama I think she resemblance his mother character that he misses so much - loving and not afraid of showing love)

Soo-Ji will become so jealous that Tae Hee favors Tae Hee more than her. She will plot a new bad thing for Shi-Hyun had Tae Hee to break up as she doesn't like loosing.

There is also a new plot for the parents so its double trouble for Shi-Hyun, Tae Hee and Soo-Ji. Soo-Ji mother has the same character as her.

IF they follow the novel and Cruel intention movie Shi-Hyun will die in the end trying to protect Tae Hee. (I still hope they live happily ever after ending ) :P I like this drama all character is cute and have different personality.

But as the episode goes I think SH x Tae Hee is much more.. what is it.. better? idk... SHxTH has a healthier relationship i guess? At first I cant brain the plot... sometimes too much for me cuz I feel like watching 3 young brats just wastingtime playing pranks on people.wtf.. all the casts are great.I dnt understand why people keep bashing joy. She acts just fine for me for newcomer. It's her character there made her that way.whereas those trio have similar family bground since small..so probbly they look much relaxed while being together as part of the drama.come on people.i bet if joy acts as sooji she will also fits right in. The reason she didnt is just becoz she is different from those trio. She is more matured as she grew un harsher life value.etc.

At first i feel like sihyun should end up with suji.but as the story progressed Tahee much more suitable for him. Thats the turning point of sihyun's life. He started to look at his life more seriously. IF he still being together with suji he still being the same brat and never grow up. That's the big point but many cannot see just becuz what they all see those trio seems like being happy go lucky together.. it looks like sihyun is more open with taehee about his feeling. Maybecause he trusts her. In love this is what we need. Being together whether happy or sad times.. and share. I honestly think suji more suitable with sejoo instead.. although sejoo seems playful but he cares suji better than anyone else. And i think only him can tame her..suji character is like a spoilt daughter and strongheaded but inside she cares a lot of her mother.

I like the tahee and sihyun relationship.they looks sweet and good together

Hannah Mar 24 2018 8:19 pm In my honest opinion, I feel as though the 2 leads are great for each other, Shi Hyun needs Tae Hee in his life in order for him to grow and prosper. He wasn't doing anything with his life that would lead him to success, and being her character, who strives to be the greatest, she will lead him to where he needs to be. I see that she will bring greatness out of him. Ji Soo is too selfish and only thinks of herself, she plays too many games and she involves Shi Hyun in it. Just by the looks of it, Se Joo has been in love with Ji Soo from the very beginning, but he chose not to be selfish and stood on the sidelines to watch her grow. If Shi Hyun and Ji Soo really were sure about their feelings from the beginning, something would've happened already, but they remained friends because they are better as only friends. And deep down, they know that but don't want to admit it. They rather not take the risk of losing their friendship. Ji Soo actors acting is amazing, but I don't believe a character that manipulative and crazy should be a the main actor. Shi Hyun and Tae Hee are perfect together and Ji Soo and Se Joo are perfect.

I'm happy that there many fans who ship soo ji and SH together than tae hee, ahaha. coz i personally think that tae hee's character in the drama is not needed anymore because the three main's character are already complicated as it is. jae eun Mar 23 2018 7:24 pm I'm enjoying this drama so far and there are a few things I like and some complaints I have.

First of all, I love the casting of the actors and actresses. I believe they're all talented. I was questioning their choice with putting Joy as the main character. I watched a bit from her previous drama and she has improved however there are a few scenes where her acting is quite awkward. Despite this, I believe she can improve.

I also really like the plot and story line of the drama. Sure, it's cliche and a bit predictable but personally I enjoy those types of dramas. This most likely doesn't apply for everyone but there were times while watching the episodes where I was confused about what was happening but I was able to get it cleared up sooner or later.

Overall, if you enjoy a drama that has characters with interesting personalities, actors and actresses that have great chemistry and a cliche, romance plot with scenes that make you go "awhh" then I recommend this drama.

Personal score: 8/10

I love Joy's character, and I hate the three rich brats.... but I'm lowkey shipping's Joy character and the character Kwon Shi-Hyun. I hate the other main girl with a passion. **for those who haven't seen the movie Cruel Intentions, which is based on the same book, then I'd recommend you watch it to soften the impending death of one of the leads**

She has trouble expressing her frustrations and her worries in a correct way. Moreover, she is the one the brings the motion of the drama.

For other characters, SH is running away from his unhappiness, TH is a "candy" character who was traumatised by a car accident. Their love for each other is so cliché.

Soo Ji may be a troublemaker, but it's not like she acts like that without her reasons. She does have good intentions at times. She actually cares for her friends through her considerate actions towards Se Joo and SH.

Even though she is stressed and felt very embarrassed of her mum but she indirectly shows her care by asking her if SH's dad actually loves her, curiously taking her mum's medicine, asking what's the secretary's intention when he brought her mum home etc.

About the bet - she just wants to feel that SH truly loves her, not just for the sake of getting married or saving their friendship. She wants to see how far he will go for her. I can tell she actually likes SH.

However I see that SH's heart wavered so fast for TH.... Soo Ji is going to be disappointed.

I think the most "mature" character could be Se Joo. Hope SJ x SJ could end up together.

The drama portrays Soo Ji as being loyal to her friends Se Joo and Shi Hyun during tough times but she's ridiculously immature. She's ungrateful about almost everything she has, is going against Tae Hee who never did anything to her personally, and doesn't seem to handle her problems in a heapthy way. Plot wise, I think this drama is going quite well, it's addicting to watch and the actors are doing a great job representing their characters. The main male lead is so atractive too T_T

Also, Taehee’s parents are divorced, her mother left without an explanation, she lives alone and supports herself but still manages to stay positive and confident. Meanwhile, GaYoung’s character really gets on my nerves. Sooji is rich gets everything she wants and she still whines about her ‘hard’ life. Also, she is selfish and thinks that everything should revolve around her. Sooji hurts others and possibly is ruining lives just because she feels like it.

I see a lot of people not satisfied with Joys acting and I see where they’re coming from, however the character that she’s based on from Dangerous Liaisons is a lot like that and i also think the way they adampted it for this drama was a little lackluster..I don’t know if it’s her acting that I particularly hate. Her character tho...rubs me the wrong way.

Joy acting was kinda awkward. I don't feel the chemistry between Do hwan and joy. They should have chose other actress who will match in Do Hwan acting, he's great actor. Ka young is really good actress since heartstrings, a very talented young lady. Min Jae is also great, fisrt time to watch him and I am beginning to like him. Every character is doing great, so far so good. Well, aside from Joy awkward acting. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate her I just don't like the way she act.

No offense but I am grateful that joy is in it. Her character makes the show more interesting and I can't wait to see how this show will turn out like. Yeah the three of them could've been the main focus of the show, but there are many dramas like that out there and it is finally nice to see something new :)

So I watched trailers, some previews on episodes. Great Seducer was basically on my Youtube feed and Instagram feed too! So I decided to finally watch the drama, I wanted to wait until the drama ended cause I really hate waiting for new episode to come when I'm craving for more, and I fell in love. It's been quite some time that I've fallen in love with a drama, first it was Scarlet Heart Ryeo, that drama torn my heart into pieces, second it was Just Between Lovers, that drama fixed my heart but torn into pieces again, and now it's Great Seducer, this drama has me hooked since the beginning. I really ship Tae-Hee and Shi-Hyun a whole lot. Like Shi-Hyun lost his mom and only to find out that his 'dad' and him aren't related, while Tae-Hee basically lost a family. SPOILER ALERT: when I saw Shi-Hyun's dad with Tae-Hee's mom, it seems like maybe their love history probably didn't end well, so if this drama is going to be like the ones that have history repeat itself, then I really hope that Tae-Hee doesn't get hurt when she reveals her feelings to Shi-Hyun and I hope that Shi-Hyun realize that he's slowly going to fall her since he would end up surprising himself whenever he says something about her, like a comment, and he would think that he has gone crazy. Whales that's all. I just hope this drama gets some high rates because I believe it deserves because Joy is a very busy idol, while she's working as a performing, she has do film this drama. That's a lot to handle, props to her *clapping*.

Their interactions are really fun to watch and I also love how each character is flawed in their own way and it feels layered like it's relatable and makes me feel for them. Taehee's character seems out of place to me though.. I strongly feel that if the drama circulates around the trio, we can get better character development and see their characters grow. And it seems to give more depth to the whole drama. Slightly disappointed that the plot is so predictable.

The trouble trio casts and additional casts were chosen well. BUT WHY the protagonist casts are meh? Not to bash them, I'm just disappointed.

But I'm still looking forward for the next episode.

This story is has something more to it.I noticed that Ga Young character somehow potrays dark and unsettled feelings but she is fragile on the inside so he need someone like DO hwan character to protect her..I really thought that the story should revolve within those three(do hwan..ga young..and min jae..)..THE feelings when three of them was together just too damn right...

After I watched the first four episodes, I watched the Les Liaisons dangereuses movie. To be honest, I like the idea of the show being based off of it, but there were some parts that I didn't like in the movie. I wish this show wouldn't end like the movie did and I hope it'll be different as well. I really do like this show though.

Elise Mar 17 2018 4:53 pm As a great fan of the original book "Les liaisons dangereuses", I started watching the first episodes as soon as I learned about this drama and I've fallen in love with it. What quite surprised me is how dark it can get before quickly becoming light once again and then dark... I usually hate that type of atmosphere, but the first episodes are so well made that it ends up being just amazing! Plus the music is simply wonderful! Also, compared to the book, I found the characterisation pretty well done and I absolutely love their take on each character... To quickly summarize : I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE WHAT'S GONNA HAPPEN NEXT (and I hope it won't be entirelly modelled on the book cause *possible spoilers* that ending is the worst of all)!!! :D :D

The first episode seemed weirdly edited, usually in Korean dramas things are so clean but some scenes seemed randomly placed. I think the director and writer are amazing. The actors are so into their roles that put me right in. The musical scores add a lot to the scenes. But I only have a problem with the person who edits and ties the scenes in together.

And for the people who are doubtful because of Joy. She has barely shown up in the first 4 episodes. The story is more geared towards the three friends so far. What I've seen of Joy..like 5 min in every episode... she's been a really good actress. If I didn't know she was an idol I would've thought she was just an actress. I cried at the scene with her mom and the car. All the actors are really doing amazing in this drama.

Just follow the story. You can stop watching this if you don't like Taehee, or she ended up together with Shihyun.

It would be nice, but I think it will only make the life story of the characters too dark because they are too similar to each other. If they want people to love a drama, I think this is why they put Tae Hee in the picture. She might look like she sticks out like sore thumb right now but I am hoping that she finds her place in the story. I hope that they let her character blossom. Because it looks like she's that ball of sunshine (although I can't say she's just entirely positive in all ways) that will shine a light in Si Hyun's life.

You know what they say about opposite attracts? I think this is it. And may I be right. Haha.

Being a massive fan of the movie 1988 'Dangerous Liasions' with Glenn Close, Michelle Pieffer, John Malkovich, Uma Thurman back in the day and also shipping WDH from 'Save Me' I thought it was best to just park 'GS'. However I'm a sucker for romance and I enjoyed reading your post so yep I'm going to binge the first 4 episodes. Congratulations to you and Im curious as to the relationship between SH and SJ and will look out for TH so I'm going in. I've never seen Joy in any other work so keen to catch up and support. BTW last saw MKY in 'Deserving of the name' and she was quite comical and I liked her character there so looking forward to my date with 'GS' ❤️

TL Mar 14 2018 1:42 am The cast is amazing. The quality of the show is amazing. The chemistry between the actors is phenomenal. That being said, I have one major problem with the show. Shi-Hyun and Soo-Ji are clearly meant to be. I have nothing again Joy I think she's a wonderful actress and what not but her character is just not relevant. The first 4 episodes barely mention her. What the first 4 episodes do mention and show is the wonderful chemistry between Shi-Hyun and Soo-Ji. The chemistry, the acting, the way they are together makes it seem like they are soulmates or end game. The reason I have a problem with them adding Tae-Hee is that since it is meant to be loosely based on Pierre Choderlos de Laclos, Soo-Ji should be made into the bad or "evil" character. Making her into the villain (if they take that approach and knowing KDramas they most likely will) after knowing her character just seems like bad writing and a bad objective. She also clearly loves Shi-Hyun so it just doesn't sit well with me. Their characters are in love and clearly denying it since she is afraid of those who she loves or likes leaves her. I just hate that this could have been such a great drama but knowing they're now going to force a love connection between Tae-Hee and Shi-Hyun is incredibly bothersome. SORRY FOR THE RANT and again this is in no way hating on Joy. I just feel like the relationship between Shi-Hyun and Soo-Ji has so much beautiful potential that it really is frustrating knowing that we can't watch it bloom since she isn't the "innocent or pure" typical character that makes the "bad" boy good. Also the actress playing Soo-Ji is incredible as well and it seems like she's being overshadowed which also sucks. I feel like the fans and writers shouldn't be so quick to ship Shi-Hyun and Tae-Hee solely based on the fact that Joy is the actress portraying her. I really hope Shi-Hyun and Soo-Ji have a chance (but again knowing KDramas it's not looking too good). I'll keep hoping for the best from them. Kim Min-Jae is also a wonderful actor and his character is so lovable and sweet. I adore him and what he brings to the relationship in the friendship and the vibe on screen. (Sorry for any typos and I hope no one is offended by what I've said)

Super liked what they did with the characters and the story. The acting was great and I love Choi Soo Ji character and her acting was excellent. In a way I'm sorry that Joy will once again play innocent character, since if Bad Boy video was any indication, she could play the mean girl just fine. Also liked that it didn't look cheap and they truly gave vibe of rich kids.

So Ah Mar 13 2018 1:03 am I just saw the first episode. The drama was really well done and the directing is excellent . The story is also strangely relatable and intriguing. The main casts are doing well in their parts as well as the older actors. I hope they achieve high ratings. The drama obviously deserves it. 9/10

Not because I don't like her (although I am still not sure about her acting skills) but because....... three muskeeters have such a great chemistry between them (and their acting is really good). I would prefer a lot of more just romance between Kwon Shi-Hyun and Choi Soo-Ji. But well, we all know this story.

An idol job is a matter of maximum 10 years of popularity and there is no insurance that they actually made good money from this past 10 years. Besides if an actor wanted to reales an album for example should we say that even if he/she had a good voice we wouldn’t admit his/her talent because they didn’t go through the process that all singers got through. Some idols go to art school were they can learn a lot of thing besides music~ people keep telling idols to only keep singing when people them self do variety jobs to gain money. Her accepting this role is a simple right for her, it’s like being a part of a project with different level experienced members m, would you really drop this project?!!, it’s like offering a really good job position that will make your life different but some people don’t like that you got that offer would you really drop this opportunity for just hating comments and people opinion , there is always a room for developing, some people do start from the bottom but some get good opportunities. Should we really all start from the bottom to satisfy this ridicules agindaa of others. Her previous drama was big deal! Not for rating not for gaining people love which she actually did but for entering the field and open PD and directors eyes on her. having a new experience. If you think that having as you think a failure project for once means that you should just stop doing any others let me tell you that you will never survive in this life when you all grown up :), this is for people who says idols should not act and for people who says that she should start with supports lead. People who throw shades on her bad acting is another case. Let us be objective her acting was a bit off from amazing but never bad at all ! She managed her character pretty good. I’m not gonna talk about tlahl any further because this is Great Seducer and it’s a new page for her . Lola Feb 14 2018 9:46 pm I've never read the novel but I heard that Cruel Intentions was based on that novel and if this drama is anything like that movie Ik it's gonna be really dark and tragic. if this was a Japanese drama I wouldn't doubt they would follow the original route but since it's a kdrama I'm guessing and lowkey hoping they'll lighten it up a little and just loosely base it off the original. I love character development but I also really hope they take it easy on how horrible the main guy's character will be in the beginning. Also take out some of the Incest-ish elements out. Really not trying to see all of that. Lol but anyways I'm really excited about the casting. It's truly Woo Do Hwan's year I mean he had dramas back to back to back im so impressed and lowkey concerned because does homeboy even rest? But considering how talented and charismatic he is, I'm sure casting directors are lining up to cast him. Btw really proud he won an award for his performance in Mad Dog. He nailed his role in there but honestly everyone in Save Me should've won an award too but I get that it's a cable network drama so it's not the same.. Also, it's for a public broadcasting station so it's gonna more audience friendly. And sigh to those people who seem to be allergic of the prospect of an idol taking a lead role. Hyeri, Kim Sejeong, Jung Eunji, Yoona, Suzy, Park Hyunsik, Im Siwan, Yoochun and many more are all idols, it's not like Joy is an isolated case. And viewers enjoyed some of their dramas. I actually think that joy fits the role, a tsundere one. But lbr, it still all boils down to the storyline and the prduction of the drama. Even if they cast a seasoned actress or actor, if the storyline is weak then it'd still be a mess and a complete bore.

I just wish Joy, Woo Dohwan, Moon Kayoung and all the cast a great success for this drama. Let's not be negative and see what this has to offer!

As a french who loves literature, I obviously read Les liaisons dangereuses and I can say that he will do a marvellous job playing the part. He is not very experimented but the quality of his acting is astounding. He will make a very sexy and dangerous Vicompte cause he knows how to convey and show weakness in his tough character without altering the essence of the role But for the female parts, being coinvincing will be a hard job. The role of La Marquise (the bad b**ch) must be played by the best portrayer of villainess out there cause she is a matermind, manipulative and dangerous. But the tougher will be the part of La Présidente de Tourvel, who is a very rightful person, with a lot of principle, who had always followed rules and morals but whose heart will be stolen by the Vicompte and end being conflicted between her duty and love. Of course it will be adapted as a modern version but I think they will still keep the essence of the main parts I can t wait to watch this drama, I am very expectant. I liked a lot Les Liaisons Dangereuses and Woo Do Hwan has become one of my favourite korean actor since Mad Dog. He will need some very good parteners for the several chemistrys to be believable.
