Plot

Tears for You is a love story about two step-siblings, Yota (Satoshi Tsumabuki) and Kaoru (Masami Nagasawa). Long ago, Yota's mother (Kyoko Koizumi) married Kaoru's jazz-playing father (Tatsuya Nakamura), effectively merging the two families. Unfortunately, Kaoru's father skipped town, and Yota's mother passed away, but not before imparting a dying wish to her young son to take care of Kaoru. In the meantime, the two young children were raised by Yota's grandmother on a small island off the coast of Okinawa. When Yota came of age, he took on a role not just as a brother but as a surrogate father of sorts for Kaoru, always working long hours on any number of jobs in order to support his sister's education.

Clarkdale44 Oct 27 2013 12:17 pm Now what do i say, I started watching this with excitement but i disappointed with romance prospective. Well i liked it somehow. Nice heartwarming story. I hate to admit i couldn't hold my tears from flowing...... Make sure to keep tissue with yourself.

maneki hobbang Nov 06 2011 9:47 am i expected more romantic love. tears didn't pour like crazy, but the tsumabuki's fantastic performance of brotherly love is touching and memorable. the development tugged at my heartstring a bit at a time. the song "nada sou sou" was a great help in making me remember this movie every once in a while.
