Thanks! M. Rae Dec 10 2021 1:18 am ear Writer Shin nim, I am a recent, non Korean speaker who fell in love with your script, for the show, Home Town Cha Cha Cha. The first thing that charmed me was the acting prowess of the lead pair, aided by the clever banter and underlying humanity of your script. The way you weaved the stories of the community (Mi Seon, Hwa Jung, O Juri.,,) into the episodes was amazing, as was the bold exploration of the themes of loneliness, impact of divorce on children, self esteem, and of complex friendships. Goengin's strong and independent women from Bora to Gamri reveled in your depiction of their characters. Thank you also for creating that beautiful bromance between Du Shik and Seong Hyun. Their instant understanding of each other, unburdened by the need of any explanation was heart warming. It was in my second viewing, that I understood the word Jagi- The lead pair were practically the same person inside, though their public faces were different. I loved them both. I also savored the meta jokes where you broke the fourth wall. Jokes referring to Kim Seon Ho's 2D 1 night stint, hair flip tic etc. were endearing. But that last master stroke was the subverting of the "moving to Seoul" trope, where the actors- and you laughed at us, the audience for falling for it. Loved the way they laughed and high fived. Other gentle digs at middle class exhibitionism (e.g how cool is it to appreciate art with my BF) and the subversion of so many K Drama tropes showed your powers of observation and satire. Reminded me of Proust and Jane Austen in many places. Truly admire you for creating this drama that will, I am sure continue to enrich the lives of people world wide. Read today that the English dub will be available on Dec 16th. As Hye Jin said "Looking forward to it!!" Kamsahamnida! Annyeonghee Gaseyo! Gg Dec 01 2021 10:15 pm I love all your dramas.. Keep fighting !!! Sarada Hai Ha Nov 23 2021 9:45 am Dear writer Shin Ha-Eun, I love the characters, you all have your own stories, very beautiful and humane. The dialogue captures the joyful atmosphere of the people of the sea, I love them, how meticulously they are elaborated. Hye Jin she is so brave, choose what she needs, listen to her heart and commit. Leader Hong is very deep and cool. The nursing couple is also very lovely and humane. Everything is holy. It heals my soul these days. Helping me remembering a lot of the people I used to know well. Remember the beautiful, poetic memories here. Thank you. Kay Kay McDevitt Oct 27 2021 8:39 am Dear Writer Shin Ha-Eun, Thank you to you (I am sorry I dont know how to type honorifics). Your show Hometown Cha Cha Cha was epic, amazing, heartwarming and so incredible. Fantastic cast, breathtaking location, and wonderful execution of the whole show. I wish there was a second season but I understand there will not be (because it is based on Mr. Handy?) but; I would give anything for a second season and so would millions of people. Your ratings on Netflix and in Forbes Magazine features are incredible! 32 Million views and top ten ranking in more than 20 countries! Bravo! I am still sad there will be no season 2 but; Bravo nonetheless Many thanks Ritu Oct 18 2021 8:27 am Thank you for such a lovely, heartwarming drama Hometown Cha cha cha. These past 8 weeks I have been waiting desperately for the weekend to watch new episodes, and it wasn’t just for the actors. Your very real and human way of dealing with emotional crises has been very cathartic. Just like Chief Hong and Hwa Jeong I tend to bottle up my fears and sadness. But Gamri’s words of wisdom of spending time around others even when life feels hard, touched a chord in my heart, especially as the pandemic has left a lot of people feeling lonely. So thank you for foregoing cliches and instead resolving conflict in a healthy way. A learning moment for all viewers. Keep up the good work! Am looking forward to watching the Crowned Clown written by you and your future projects. sq Oct 17 2021 11:39 pm Thankyou writer-nim. You gave us a wonderful drama. We connected all throughout the drama. It seems you are team goodboy. Hahahah We, fans of 2days1night, love you so much. Seumseum Oct 17 2021 7:27 pm Writer-nim, thank you for creating such a healing drama. It didn't just heal me, it literally saved me from the brink of death. Before watching this, I am having suicidal episodes and dealing with depression. After watching this, I realized that life is worth living. That I am not alone. That everyone is going through hardships at one point of their lives, but we can survive as long as we keep holding on. Thank you for showing that, yes, it may be hard, but there is a bright future and healing ahead of us. Before, I was crying because I want to take my life already. But mow, I was crying with so much happiness because of this drama. My heart is going to burst. It was really, really, really good. You just dont know how this drama means to me. I will forever be grateful to all who made Hometown Chachacha possible. Thank You So Much. Liz Oct 17 2021 1:14 pm Thank you so much for writing hometown chacha. Thank you for healing me. yik hung Oct 13 2021 8:42 am writer nim I really admire you for hometown cha cha cha. you written very good story and many quotes, word deep and meaning full. thank you for good work and make me addicted to wait the ending. Aanzu Pun Oct 12 2021 12:27 am I take it back! I did have a feeling in the beginning and wished it came true about Cho hui having unrequited crush for Hwa jung. Glad it came to be true. It feels good to have our community represented even though its just the beginning. Many love to the writer ? Lily Oct 11 2021 6:20 am Writer nim, you are genius. This story is really well arranged, connected one another, no useless scene or dialogue. Some of parts of course still cliche but I don't mind at all, you have written a very good story that make million people addicted. Looking forward for your next project. jga94 Oct 09 2021 10:38 pm I am not sure if Shin Ha-Eun is male or female but if he is make, then I think he deserves to be named an honorary female for highlighting the strengths of women in different situations. In Hometown ChaChaCha, we have the lead female who became a successful dentist and moved her practice in an unknown place because of principles; we have the grandmother who loves her son who hardly has time to visit her; the wife who despite the hurt she got from her husband continued to care for him on her own terms; the mother who lost her daughter to an illness who found happiness in looking after other children in the community; the pregnant mother who shows us the hardship of bearing children and taking care of them. Hometown ChaChaCha is indeed a healing drama. It shows that everyone has their own hurts or losses but that one can always find happiness with loving what they have-- their families, their friends and their community. Congratulations to the cast, writer, producer, director and everyone involved. Love Hometown Cha Cha Cha Oct 07 2021 8:07 pm This drama is free therapy. Props to the writer for writing such a simple story with nuanced and vibrant characterizations. Just like what dusik said at the art gallery “It’s easy to draw in details, but hard to bring out the essence in a simple drawing”. It’s easy to write another makjang with crazy stories, characters that return after being “dead” and with no realistic explanations to different turn of events, but hard to make a simple story like this with no villain so engaging. The actors/actresses are also great, love minah and seonho’s chemistry. This is now on the top of my list for kdramas. I look forward to more of your works, writer Shin Ha Eun!! Anne Harley Oct 01 2021 7:43 am Thank you for wonderful screen "Hometown Cha Cha Cha"! The whole team, front actors, behind director, screen writer and support staffs, you guys doing great, excellent job! Kim Seon Ho is my dream son who I love so much! I don't know any TV drama capitulated my state loving this drama and waiting for weekend to come and mean while watching over and over preview...word can not express how much that I loved the show! Please everyone safe and looking forward to see many many show. Thank you and have a great day!!! Aanzu Sep 28 2021 4:59 am I am so thrilled and blessed to watch yet another amazing drama, Hometown Cha cha cha. Couple of episodes and I could tell right away, there has to be a female writer behind. As a female film student who finds alot of tropes to critic on, I couldnot find much for a Korean drama except for no LGBTQi representation. As a woman though, I enjoyed the storyline thoroughly while being empowered, 100% a comfort watch during the pandemic. Ayaya Jun 05 2021 11:48 pm I am so in love with The Crowned Clown storyline. Wonderful written and the characters.. wow. Just wow. Can't wait for Hometown Cha Cha Cha. Btw, i'll definitely freak out and going crazy if Yeo Jingoo appear in front of Kim Seonho as a cameo.
