A love story set in the seaside village of Gongjin.

Yoon Hye-Jin (Shin Min-A) works as a dentist. She is mostly a realist, but due to her rightfulness, which is only a tiny part of her mind, her life changes. She ends up moving to the seaside village of Gongjin. There, Yoon Hye-Jin meets Hong Du-Sik (Kim Sun-Ho). She becomes curious about him. Hong Du-Sik is called Chief Hong by the local residents. He is a handsome and smart man. Officially, he is unemployed, but he always seems busy. If somebody needs help, Hong Du-Sik is the first one to appear and provide help.

I’d give this drama a 7/10 just because I felt like the end was rushed and the female lead made me cringe at times. Other than that, it was sweet and it made me cry once or twice, lol. If you need something light to watch on the weekend, I recommend this drama.

I really recommend this drama to all. This drama is really healing our mind with its beautiful scenarios of the sea. I too love to see that village Gongjin if seaside.

Thank you to the talented director, writer, cinematographer, all the cast and crew for giving the world such a wonderful gift, Hometown Cha Cha Cha. It has the perfect cast, makes you smile, laugh, cry, all in one episode! Kim Seon Ho's portrayal of Chief Hong is so brilliant! This is definitely another Character of the Year played by the same actor. The range of emotions he displayed is unbelievable. Grateful that I stumbled upon this gem (homcha) but worried that no other k-dramas will meet my higher expectations now. Homcha is the new standard.

lily Mar 20 2022 5:44 am if you're still wondering whether to give it a shot or not, this is your sign to watch. you're missing a lot if you didn't finish the drama. Just warning tho, it's a slow paced pilot episode, but it picks up as the story progresses. and from there it's just a roller coaster of emotions. The writing, directing and acting all are amazing here. Slice of life and romcom genre perfect mix. Such a healing experience, definitely my comfort drama now. The hype is definitely deserved.

The last 3 episodes were so powerfull in a good way ,i hope you guys give a chance to see this series , i promise you its 100% worth it , even tho you might consider the first episodes a bit slow, the final message is absolutely lovely and quiet real. Thank you for this amazing cast.

I'm dozing off just watching every episode and have to skip on some unnecessary scenes. I usually find particular characters on kdramas that standsout, but i can't on this show. Am i wasting my time?

Ran Feb 25 2022 11:47 pm Hometown Cha Cha Cha is extraordinary it its ordinariness. The story is simple... no villains, not a lot of drama. The characters lead their daily lives working, gossiping... trying to simply live. What makes this drama special is how the characters' relationship among each other grow. Absolutely no one is perfect. They make mistakes, are nosy, stubborn, judgmental... but they learn about each other and try to be more understanding. "No man is an island." It is true and shown beautifully in this drama. The sense of community and how one can heal by being surrounded by people who love and support you throughout everything.

The use of tropes are there but it's the way they are delivered that makes everything still fresh. I love that it's not just a story of the main leads getting together and knowing their troubles and hardships... it's also about the villagers and their lives. This drama is not just about romance. It talks about parenthood, losing family members, marital problems... It delves deep about guilt and trauma.

Homcha is a masterpiece for its simple yet heartwarming storytelling... shot beautifully in a small seaside town. The performance of each cast is incredible. Kim Seonho (who honed his skills in theatre for many years) gave a natural and incredibly poignant performance as Hong Dusik. The supporting cast are mostly theatre actors as well and they all were convincing and gave stellar performances.

I've seen many series over the years and I'm confident to say Homcha is one of the best!

Ann Feb 25 2022 12:08 pm I try to watch this coz so many people recommend this drama to me but I think it's overrated. I don't know if it's coz I'm not fan of the actor, the story is too cliche. Like watching Mr perfect and Ms perfect got together, everything fall into the place without much hardship, I bet if the lead weren't played by sunho/mina people won't be hooked as much.

Plot wise I don't know why they're a thing, both are so judgemental, childish, sometimes stick their nose where they don't belong. They're bickering suddenly they're okay, love triangle between divorced couple and the teacher were better than the lead tbh. I found it more endearing to see couple who is not perfect but belong to each other coz they fill in each other emptiness.

This drama feels like snippet of highlight script, there's not much of development happens on the lead. Problem brew, exchange of sweet gesture/admirable quote, then they have crush on each other. I don't see much effort of how the character think, found solution in their own way, grew as a character. Also I don't like it when the town folks gossip which side is better one (dusik is too good for hyejin), I don't mind if the context was one of them was divorced/have child with no partner that's realistic and sensitive concern, but from the context of this drama is just battle of pride. That's so childish and cheap.

AKM Feb 20 2022 7:06 pm This was our first experience watching a Korean sit-com. We were enchanted by the plot and superb acting. We looked forward to watch each episode. In the current Covid and Ukraine tensions, it was nice to be entertained by human, small town relationships, joys and sorrows. After a few episodes, we felt we were actually in the lives of the town characters. Nice photography-far and near. Thoroughly enjoyed even if at times the story took a bit unrealistic turns! Grandma character was so empathic. The dentist assistant had cute lines. Bora and her young friend were charming. The dentist is a superb actor. One comment about sub-titles- good English but the subtitles changed so quickly and often the subtitles were put on a white background. These caused us to concentrate all the time and my eyes were strained! Some improvement can make the viewing more enjoyable to people relying on subtitles.

zed Feb 05 2022 4:56 am im on ep 13, and i have very mixed feelings abt this drama. it was rly good at first, but i felt like their relationship rushed so fast after they got together? like yeah they were super corny thats normal, but its such a sudden change compared to the way they acted before? its like im lowkey not watching the same couple. also, hye jin is so forceful sometimes, like if the guy says no it means no. i wish they did things his way more, instead of him having to compromise with her all the time.

as for the good parts, everythign else. the casting is really good, i loved that the second lead was likeable and not forceful, i also loved that it was a different take - im a usual kdrama watcher you see, and this characters are not the usual stereotypes you spot. i love the other characters, i grew to love their storylines as well. i even love the second couple, i thought it was forced at first just for the sake of a plot point, but they genuinely do make a good couple as it went on, the cop is amazing.

i wish in the future episodes, hye jin would be a little bit more empathetic towards du sik. i guess ill update if it does improve.

Kate Ortouste Jan 31 2022 5:50 pm Hometown Cha Cha Cha surprised me in a way that I didn’t see it coming. The characterization, script and cinematography is simply wonderful. I believe that this is the only drama that highlighted different character stories that weren’t boring to watch. I seldom see Korean dramas that show a healthy love triangle concept and Hometown Cha Cha Cha showed us that the first male lead would really get the female lead defeating the third male lead. But the third male lead is not annoying in this drama since his character does not push himself for Hye Jin because he understands that Hye Jin and Du Sik really love each other.

I love this drama’s cinematography as well. There were a lot of picture perfect scenes where the actor’s clothes and the scenery complimented well especially that part where Hye Jin and Du Sik cross each other’s path wearing different clothes and the scene where they soaked in the rain while having fun at the beach.

I also love the script of this drama because every line is relevant. As part of the audience, I was able to grasp the moral lessons that each character taught the viewers. Great job for the scriptwriter!

This drama should be hailed as one of 2021’s best Korean dramas along with The King’s Affection (KBS2). International fans love this Hometown Cha Cha Cha’s concept!

FLORANTE E. DELOS SANTOS Jan 30 2022 10:09 pm I am now a certified Korean telenovela fan. Thanks to Homeland Cha Cha Cha and the superb acting of Kim Sin-Ho, and the rest of the cast. The show has perfectly captured the lifestyle and human dynamics in a small village in Korea. I had a marathon watching of the whole series, thanks to Netflix. I couldn't stop until I see the ending. Engrossing, value-laden, excellent plot and acting, and great setting! Hope to see more shows of Kim Sin-Ho. Because of this, I have also watched Start-Up, Crash Landing on You, and Descendants of the Sun. Searching for more good Korean telenovelas/movies to watch. Kim Sin-Ho please do more shows! Congratulations and keep up the good work!

Wished they showed the wedding and a year after it though cause it felt short but overall it was great. Would 100% recommend this. I hesitated at first but when I watched it, it exceeded my expectations. Loved the main leads, especially Shin Min-ah.

aya Jan 19 2022 2:59 am this drama is so beautiful and comforting <3 not just because it is romantic, but it also tells the story of a warm family and friends and even tells the issue that we mostly not want to talk about. everyone portrayed their characters perfectly (as expected because most of them are theater actors and actresses), the script is written beautifully. and just like dusik, I hope we can find our gongjin in our hardest times and heal ourselves. fighting everyone!

I love the various story about the people; the side characters are very ordinary but they all have their own appeals and stories that you can empathize with. I personally just love Kim Seon Ho so much that every moment he appeared on screen was golden for me. His acting is very casual and at ease and that goes so well with the peaceful and ordinary story like this. Love the little cut at the end of each episodes where you see a POV not told in the main story -- those cuts make this drama 1000% more romantic for me!! Praying circles that Kim Seon Ho will lead in more rom com dramas I just can't get enough of him!

A gem of a person in reel and real. So, now talking about the drama. This drama hits you in different points. I laughed and cried during the whole time. Dushik is someone who knows the real meaning of life. It's true that money can't buy you happiness, it just makes you materialistic. And that's the reason dushik gives importance to human relationships than money. And I can relate a lot with dushik because I once had a trauma and that changed me forever. I gave up on everything and started a new life. Sometimes it's okay to give up. It is okay to move on from the life that gave you nothing but pain. It's Never too late to Start Over. I hope I didn't give out any spoilers because This story is worth watching. Love and support to Seonho oppa!!!

The FL was very good, well, up until she got into the relationship with the ML. their romance i agree, was cringe. however, i like that the show addressed relatable situations in our day to day lives. like how divorce affects the children, what growing up without parents can be like and even having a stepmom. also what pregnant women go through. i liked the simple life they lived and how they respected and chose to love each other despite their flaws or annoying traits (gossiping lol) i give it a 10/10. cause i could survive the cringe moments but i learnt a lot. the community was so lovable and i envy it. wish i could be part of a family like that. the way the actors dealt with depression was also great.

Brilliant performance from each of the cast - even the young ones! It's pretty obvious how the cast and crew had a harmonious working relationship all throughout as they have given us a masterpiece. It doesn't feel like they're acting at all and it made me feel as if their little Gongjin community as well. HTCCC is a drama that I would and could watch forever. ♡

Nothing in this story that we can't relate with because it is indeed part of every community: the gossiping, family/romantic issues, and more! Prepare for tear-jerking scenes especially episode 15. All characters were given its own highlight and not merely focused on the lead. Highly recommended to those looking for a feel-good kdrama with lots of life lessons!

This drama has the best writing and best character development for most of the characters, Hyejin has the most character development.

Kim Seon Ho arranged his dual personality so well that he could show a dark and fearful Dushik and a loving and bright Hong Banjang

I very much love the reconciliation between our divorced couple. The innocent sweet scenes between Mi-seon and Eun-cheol. I really wish we had more scenes of Ji PD-nim and our writer-nim. All of them have pure relationships. :)

For someone who has seen a lot of dramas, cringe to some of their scenes. Nevertheless this kdrama as a whole was healing because of the own story of characters

They are the reason why I am watching till the end

Sure the leads have an amazing chemistry but their story is kinda draggy and some scenes are repetitive. Sometimes the girl act like a 17 years old, she is too clingy. There are a lot of more better drama than this, but again it is just my opinion, it’s a good drama but not the best

I'm used to it in Korean dramas, but there were entire scenes constructed as built-in advertisements, specifically one which was a buddy twosome plug for Dominos pizzas and another repeated plug for a vitamin supplment.

Jan Oct 31 2021 5:34 am A slice of life. This kdrama had such of a homey feeling to it that it was just so comforting and heartwarming to watch. It kind of reminded me of Reply 1988 and that similar feeling I got from it, which was nice to experience again. Each character was unique, and complimented each other so well. I think that’s why the towns dynamic was spot on and natural. The romance between the leads/ side characters was also well done, and not over the top to the point it was too cliche (which I was thankful for).

Anyways, I just wanted to thank the staff and cast for making it happen. I really did appreciate all the happiness it gave me from watching it <3

The warmth from the stories of each Gongjinerz people really hit home. The issues about busy grown up child and abandoned parents, bad relationship between daughter and father who actually longing each other, unrequited love because you need chose between love or friendship, giving a second chance for the one who hurt you but he's the one that you loved most, about losing your most precious family member and how to dealt with that grief.. i just lost at words.

The love and the warmth that i will always treasure. Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha, thank you! Hong Dusik, Yoon Hyejin, Gamri halmoni, Hwajeong, and every people from Gongjin, thank you so much! ?

I would like to think that Hye Jin did it to give Du Sik time to gather himself but that isn't how it came off. He made one comment and she literally stepped back and fell off for days, thinking and crying in her own space. Gam Ri was the only one who seemed to reach out to him becasue his girlfriend definitely didn't. But if the male perspective is making excuses for why she did that then that explains why he so easily went back to her. It really bothered me that everyone still kept blaming him too. I understand that they needed someone to blame but it still bothered me.

tbh, when i started the series, i was a bit wary of almost all the characters, including our leads. but as it progresses, the show actually manages to warm all the characters to its viewers. that, i think was the best part of this drama. i didn't even expect to love all the characters the way i did, especially in the second half. with the right lens adjustment, this can be really enjoyable and feel-good drama. and the last two episodes, especially ep15, were my favorites, even though they were arguably the saddest ones as well, haha.

the lead actors' chemistry has to be one of the best ones i've seen in a while. be it their playful banter, or bickering, or being all cutesy while dating, to the sad scenes.. it all felt so unforced and natural. the love triangle was handled excellently (and healthily) as well, and the bromance between the two male leads was a delight to watch.

if there's any complaints i have about homcha, it's probably the way the reveal

of du-sik's backstory was handled. the build-up to it felt too long, and it would have been nice if at least two episodes were focused on it, instead of wrapping it all in one ep. the show still delivered tho, and considering the reveal happened in a single episode, it was handled really well! and while i do think it could have been done better, i still loved it. haha.

to anyone who wants a fun little rom-com with a good punch of the feels added to it, just jump right in. it's a wonderful drama <3

Imagine he revealed his deepest darkest secret, that's a lot of embarrassment and shame. The worst thing you could do is force him when he's not ready. IMO she did the wise thing but that's just my opinion.

Terry Oct 22 2021 1:23 pm Wasn't not impressed by this drama. It was okay but there was no "wow this is great!" to it at all. Basic asf really. The old divorced couple had more chemistry than the lead and supporting couples. There were times when I felt that the ML didn't even want to be around the FL and didn't know how to hide it. One thing that really got me was when the FL found out the ML's past, or some of it, she steps back and then cries in her house. UM, why? No seriously, why? She didn't even know the circumstances and automatically assumed some irreversible crime was committed. Never thought to herself, well he isn't in jail or wanted by the police so there must be more to it. Or why am I crying like I didn't just desert my man when I literally been telling him I want to know about his past but I hear a little piece and I run away. I need it to make some type of sense. It was a time when he needed her the most and she is introspective on how she feels about it. Girl Bye!

I don't have a main couple in mind, I have 3-4 main couples... Just a tiny bit sad that our Ji PD and Producer-nim did not get much spotlight on their blossoming love towards the last 2 eps. Ji PD took many scenes to contemplate on his feelings again, I felt like he might miss his chance again. Haha! But I'm so glad they still ended up together. I'm good with that. All of them --- love love love!

Sabine Oct 19 2021 9:27 pm Just finished watching this drama. This is what a rom-com should be, funny, cheesy, romantic, a little bit dramatic, etc., it fits all the boxes. The main leads had the perfect chemistry, having a lot of adlibs in the drama really does help to make them feel so realistic. Each of the Gongjin resident's had their own stories to tell. From a senior citizen to even a little kid (I-Jun's acting is phenomenal, actually puts some veteran actors to shame if you ask me!). Their stories are so diverse and not a single of it felt out of place, I was personally invested in Hwa Jeong's story, I applaud the writer, director and the actress for making her story seem so realistic, you can't help but sympathise with her every time we get to see her tell her story. There's just so much to talk about but I wanna keep it short. Overall, the story came to a conclusive end with no strings loose, making it feel so complete to a satisfaction. A drama that gives the same rom-com vibe is probably Weightlifting Fairy, which to me, is another example of a perfect rom-com. Really recommend this drama <3

I was totally glued to the screen. There is much dialog about philosophy, community, and care for others that we don't get in American-made shows. Small hometown relationships is what it's all about. I cried, laughed out loud, was frightened, felt sad, and hopeful. I'm glad I watched this beautiful love story.

I especially like that some risks were taken in telling stories that had roots that were exposed and gave the viewer an understanding of how folks got to who they were as contemporaries. Very relatable. I'd love to be part of a community like the one they created. I'm glad I had a childhood that included a community feel. Much needed now. Not a character in this show I didn't fall in love with. Well acted and true to their rolls. Thank you.

Kiki Oct 17 2021 10:35 am (Spoilers) It's a very good drama. Truly. The only thing that makes me upset is the conclusion of the plot twist about Du Shik's trauma. I mean, the could write a bit longer (add 1 or 2 more episodes) about "the struggle" Do-Ha and Seon-A to overcome their loses. It looks like they rushed them "to forgive" Du-Shik. In fact, I prefer Do-Ha effort to make a mend his relationship with Du-Shik than Seon-A. Do-Ha knows what his father's done was to make his happy. Then he admits that it's partly because of him. But it's not the same with Seon-A. I don't know for sure, the line she said when they are in the beach feels so wrong (or maybe this is the subs?). She said not gonna sorry about what she has done to Du-Shik, then she said that she forgive Du-Shik? C'mon! Du-Shik do nothing wrong with her husband dead. It was an accident!

But overall this drama is good. I give it 8.5/10, but still Seon-A parts make me feel unsatisfied.

Time flies and the beautiful drama has come to an end. However, the love of the Gongjins, and the Shik-Hye will live on for a long time. It was a lovely lovely lovely drama. Filled with lots of love, healing, and courage. It was another memorable performance by Seon-Ho, after Startup. Min-A has also gained a new fan. Her portrayal of Hye-Jin was almost flawless. Make sure you watch this drama to the end…it moves slowly as you might find small town life but come to a most satisfying conclusion in the last four episodes. Specials thanks to Screenwriter Shin Ha Eun for gifting the audience with such a heartwarming story & ending. As well, Director Yoo Je Won has provided us with lovely balanced portraits which come together to describe the emotional underpinnings of this “hometown”. Last but certainly not the least, the actors, all superb consummate professionals we know & love going in…they always deliver their best! Shin Min-A provides a flawless sensitive performance with chemistry befitting in every scene and with every fellow actor she interacts with. And of course Kim Sun-Ho who picked a beautiful drama to show the extraordinary range of talents he possesses and hones. His performance in this drama was so nuanced and powerful in the way only he can deliver. A special shout out to the many senior actors who are just incredible in their roles in this drama. They keep on working and indeed keep getting better…almost impossible if you’re already the best. Yup, Loved This Drama.

The natural chemistry between Kim Seon Ho and Shin Min-a.  For the emotional scenes, absolutely they are keen into them.  Even sweet shots, they’re acting adorably that it’s rarely find anyone acting in charming manner like them.  In addition, other casts are so well chosen to match characters, even children and teenagers they are very good acting. 
Songs in this drama are absolutely perfect and well edited to align with scenes.  They perfectly spice up viewers’s emotion.

Locations are well chosen to get along with drama content, moreover film editing is so talent to make many scenes so beautiful. Dialogues, the plenty of them inspire and encourage viewers to reflect on their lives. There is no a reason I dislike this drama. oxox

Sky Oct 14 2021 8:57 am One of K-dramas that receiving a lot of love not only from international but also Korean audience this year. This series is based on old movie called Mr. Hong, played by late Kim Joo Hyuk and Uhm Jung Hwa. I watched that movie before, and to be honest, it has many plot holes. I was really sceptical, and even questioned on why Kim Seon Ho and Shin Min Ah taking this drama as their next project.

I was glad to be proven wrong. The writer (Shin Ha Eun), is really brave. She is expanding a movie into 16 episodes drama, and she done it wonderfully. It's not an easy task. She address many plot holes in the original movie, give deep layers to every characters, and put unexpected twist and turn on later episodes.

Chief Hong (Kim Seon Ho), is a very likeable, lovely and mysterious character. He has his own value, living a simple and minimalistic life, and feel happy and secured by it. But he has an unspeakable past, a tragic one. Here in the drama, we will get answer on why he went missing for 5 years, why he has so many list of licences, why he live the way he is living right now despite of many talents he has. While in the movie, we never get this answer.

Yoon Hey Jin (Shin Min Ah), is supposedly an annoying character at the beginning. But she is actually has a diamond heart that need to be polished. We wil get a glimpse on why she changed into an annoying person, and how she found the better version of herself again. I can relate to her while watching the whole series.

Besides this two lovely main leads, I also fall in love with every people in Gongjin. They are not your ordinary side characters, they have their own story, and you will laugh and cry together with them.

The acting in this series is one of the best, there is not acting holes. If romcom and the story itself is not your cup of tea, at least you won't be disappointed by the acting of all casts. They are that amazing.

Lalala Oct 13 2021 3:24 pm - First of all, this is a romcom with cliche story, but done right (I've been watching a lot of Kdramas since 10 years ago). - When watching the first episode, my opinion was just neutral. I got really hooked in this series after watching the 3rd episode. It was so wholesome. - All characters are flawed. None of them are perfect like captain Ri of Crash Landing on You. But they are all becoming a better person as the story unfold, and this is so close to reality that we lived in. - The acting of all casts are phenomenal, no wonder because they are musical and theater actors. The child actors still have room for improvement but that's understandable. - I am willing to bet that some of actors of Hometown cha Cha Cha will at least getting nomination for Baeksang Award next year ( I hope they win!). - Ep 11-12 are like durian, or cilantro leave. Some people love it so much and some dislike it because the main lead act like highscooler in love. I personally have no problem with it as this is intentional for the comedy purpose, to show that the leads are in honeymoon phase of relationship. The later episode will be sad, so enjoy the laughter in ep 11-12 while it last. - It's not a perfect Kdrama, but so enjoyable to watch. You can just sit and relax without thinking too much of what's gonna happen to the characters (unless you watch it while still on going).

Even for someone like me who dont usually like kdramas or romcoms this is one of those shows that might not work for everybody but if it does hit for you, it will have an iron grip on you and you cant stop thinking about it

Wo Oct 13 2021 9:46 am This drama starts off pretty light with weird or even annoying characters at the beginning but starts to get more deep and complex as the series goes on. The main leads go through growth and become more relatable and you grow to adore them individually and as a couple. The depth of the characters and the detailed emotions portrayed by the actors is something I didn't expect from a kdrama romcom. It's worth watching just for that alone but the story and dialogues is quite good as well.

The stories is not only about the love story of the main lead, but the whole village or gongjin, each character has their own story to tell. Yes there's a flow, but every drama is not perfect, we viewers has something always a negative comment. However this drama gives a positive vibes, no hatred, no revenge, not uncomplicated love triangle, conflicts easily resolve, and characters who had a mistakes humbly says sorry. Plus bonus number 1 factors all the actors/ actresses are all great in acting, from kids to the grandma especially the main lead Kim Seon Ho and the cinematography is no doubt a perfect one for me. If you are looking for a drama, which is full of revenge, thriller, crime, complicated love story and family rivalry or disputes, then this drama is not for you, you will find it for you boring. But us, that love a simple and full of positives vibes drama, this is definitely highly commendable.

He seems easy going, address people (even the older ones) in informal language, which is a great deal in South Korea, he makes friends with people quickly, but does he really does? I think from episode 1, we are being shown how Hong liked the female lead from a distance. He smiles at her while watching her sitting on beach. He smiles at her while seeing her fixing the little kid's tooth. He takes special care of the lost shoe he finds in the sea, before giving it back to her. He does everything subconsciously as if a guy in love. But after getting into a committed relationship, all goes hell. I guess this is his first love, it could be hard because you don't know what to do. Female lead was once in a toxic relationship but glad she got out. She seems to be a wise person. She's pushing Hong in the right way. He will definitely come out of his dark cave. At times female leads like her is needed for a Hong kinda character. They are a good match. I'm very sure things will only get better.

Sue Oct 11 2021 1:25 pm I agree with @madeinUSA, Hye Jin attitude is normal considering that she has no idea about Chief Hong’s trauma at all, and every time she ask him cause of course you want to know more about your partner, Chief Hong just give vague answer, it can be frustrating but she try to give him time to open up which shows that she love him. I think this drama is realistic which everyone could relate whether you had traumatic experience, losing child, divorced, struggling with pregnancy & raising kids, missing your dead spouse, gave up your career, granny missing her child&grandchild, being lesbian, etc..there are so many realistic problem/situation that we normal people can relate and reflect from this drama. Its maybe cliche but very realistic, simple & healing. Hoping for happy ending next week!

This is the actual fleshing out of how human beings *are.* You can be a status-conscious fashionista doctor who is bossy. Notice that she gave Du-sik a my-way-or-the-highway ultimatum, but after speaking with her landlord, she thought about it and changed her mind. That's how life works!

And for those claiming that wanting to know your partner's life and struggles is not being supportive, have you actually been in a real relationship? Hiding deep trauma is not being open.

What I will agree with is that the writing felt very uneven in the 13th episode. It's true they haven't known each other long enough for *I don't know who you are any more* statements. The other thing was the birth scene was hackneyed and the children praying to the thunder was too saccharine. The vibe felt more like a Hallmark channel cornfest. Oh, and Du-sik's advice to his friend/young dad was Shonda Rimesesque. It seemed like a writer's polished prose was coming out of his mouth instead of a normal human being.

Like in the early episodes I didn't like how hong kept judging and "fixing" hyejin's personality, but at least they weren't supposedly in love? Its unfortunate that hyejin keeps trying to build her ideal bf rather than accept dusik.

And like you've been dating for like a couple of weeks? Why she acting like he's spent decades hiding things from her? Like let people trust you and open up to you at their own pace?

Overall, I think hyejin is a decent character, but a nightmarish gf with 0 empathy.

Then comes the scene where she asks her friend whether she was wearing good dress that morning (to make herself look good in front of them), before changing her doctor's coat.

She calls Du-Sik Oppa. And after they leave, she starts digging his life. She never really accepted him as a package. She must've approached him with her infatuated feelings. It's a shame how she pushed him asking him to open up when she didn't create any atmosphere for him to open up. All she did was do some stupid bucket list. She suddenly becomes interested in his future. She keeps asking him whether he has ideas to go back to Seoul. She is the one who needs to quit the simple village life and go back to the fake life she has so carefully made for herself. Where she lives for her idiot friends. Showing off designer clothes shoes bags and jewelry. Leave the guy already.

7/10 Oct 10 2021 7:37 pm I love rom coms and tried to watch all of them that are available. This drama is very good but it's not much different than most I've watched. Much of it has just been the same old thing. The only thing that sets it apart are the actors. Other then that it's the same trip and fall, misunderstanding, secret keeping, other guy, crazy side kicks, everything falls apart in eps 13- 14, ect as the average rom com. Good to watch once but not one I'd repeat. 7/10

The romantic scenes between Dusik and Hye Jin were so beautiful and mad me have heart-flattering especially songs were perfectly helping to boost up the mood of the scene. This romantic drama is not cliche at all. We have to admire the acting skill of Kim Seon Ho and Shin Min-a that both of them is amazing that they are so natural and into characters. Besides this drama is also shown the beauty of simplicity of life by reflecting thru people’s lives in Gongjin especially on Chief Hong. “ You Have One Life”, mentioned in Ep 13 by Dusik is really the fact of life, sometimes we forgot about it. Hopefully, they will have the 2nd episode.

So Cute Oct 08 2021 3:56 pm I think this drama couple portrays this relationship perfectly. Some people think it’s childish but maybe those people haven’t been in an actual relationship. This is how the start of most relationships are. At the start of the relationship everything is perfect and exciting, couples tend to be more clingy and sweet regardless of age and other factors. It’s called the honeymoon phase for a reason.

The relationship between Du Sik and Hye Jin happens to be a healthy relationship unlike the ones portrayed in many other kdramas. The couple is mature enough to resolve certain issues they face without over exaggeration. They don’t have to behave like super serious people all the time as long as they know when to be serious and when to have fun.

Overall I think this drama and all the actors are great. It’s a breath of fresh air. It’s sweet, funny, lighthearted and healing for me. Makes my weekends so much more exciting. Can’t wait for tonight’s episode.

But, it is kinda spoil me whenever it is Dushik and Hyejin moment (after they confessed each other) It’s somehow cringy and too childish especially Hyejin’s character. They both in 30s, but i don’t think they look mature enough when it comes to love. They look like highschooler who been in love for the first time. I’m SO SORRYYY to their shipper.

Aside of that, I continue to watch this drama just because of the Gongjin people. They’re funny, and i love their friendship. The one i always looking forward in every eps are Oh Yoon and his daughter, Juri scene haha! Also, Hwajeong. Their back story attract me more than the couple. ◡̈

love this drama Oct 07 2021 8:05 pm This drama is free therapy. Props to the writer for writing such a simple story with nuanced and vibrant characterizations. Just like what dusik said at the art gallery “It’s easy to draw in details, but hard to bring out the essence in a simple drawing”. It’s easy to write another makjang with crazy stories, characters that return after being “dead” and with no realistic explanations to different turn of events, but hard to make a simple story like this with no villain so engaging. The actors/actresses are also great, love minah and seonho’s chemistry. This is now on the top of my list for kdramas.

The movie has good vibes right from the very start with no hint of severe traumatic experience that might break the main characters. Of course there are twists in every story, that is given. From episode one until the latest I was smiling or laughing out loud enjoying all the characters interaction. Of course some are annoying. Finally Kim Sun Ho got his girl as most of his other dramas he didn't. I really enjoy watching the dimple couple. Go win more ratings!

CBB Oct 04 2021 2:34 pm Love this show! The Dentist is in love and although the “cuteness” can be a bit too much I like how direct, honest and forward she is - impressive! As for the scene when they professed their love for each other I expected the kiss that usually seals the deal to be a lot more passionate/maybe even a bit heated… instead, it felt like they were just giving each other pecks on the lips (you know, like pecks on the cheek). At this point in the series I would prefer less cuteness and more passion. Kudos to Kim Seon-ho for his acting abilities. He’s a great actor - knows how to act with his eyes, gestures, facial expressions… I hope to see the passionate side of him before the series ends though. Shin Min-a is also a great actor. I’ve watched a couple of her earlier dramas and her acting is consistently great. I’ve watched Shin Min-a earlier dramas and she acts well in love/passionate scenes and I would love to see how Kim Seon-ho acts in this type of scene. Sad that this drama is ending in a couple of weeks.

Hannah Oct 04 2021 6:26 am This drama is very cute, I love Shin Min Ah, she fills the screen and has a huge personality. Kim Sun Ho has got the girl this time, which is a relief. Ms Dentist overshadows him a bit, but he’s good.

My problem is with the writer. The scenery is spectacular and some comic actors funny But hey… there’s no plot, no twist, nothing to wonder about. There’s a slight mystery about the missing 5 years but it’s not been built on. There’s no story, just a couple of cute love affairs. The second lead gave up too easily. I can’t see how another 4 episodes can be filled. It’s finished already.

After meaty dramas like CLOY and IOKTNBOK, I feel this is a bit of fluff, cute fluff for sure but just sugar candy. Shin Min Ah could take on something with a bit more to it than a straight romance with no twist. She’s got substance.

Plus,I felt Hwajeong's pain in that confrontation scene with her husband. I had goosebumps--the actress was so good.I think she deserves at the very least a nomination for her acting in just that scene.I mean even if I hadn't seen the reason why for her rant, I felt her pain to be deeper than the improperly discarded socks. She was THAT good. .

And I love how Chief Hong played along, like he knew that they will know stat, but he kept playin the game and then when he started laughing when his nose started bleeding, hahaha. I'm really enjoying this drama, can't wait till tomorrow. Even on Sunday evening, I have somethin to look forward to. We underestimate the power of a feel good screenings. They really put me in a good mood :')

The story is entertaining and the cinematography give me a free travel to beautiful places of Pohang. My healing drama indeed!

Leads keep meeting, have long conversations and finally fall for each other. As it goes something is gonna happen, they break up and get back together probably in the last episode.

One was the song played when Hye Jin realized (was having flashbacks of her time with Dusik) her feelings for Hong Banjang (I like the symbolism of Hye Jin going out in the rain without any umbrella---it's symbolizing her abandon of reasoning over her feelings). And the other one was the song by Kim Seungmin (?)-the one played when Hye Jin confessed her feeling to Dusik. Love these songs.

It's okay for some to not like the drama because there are enough of us who absolutely love it. The terms I'd associate with this drama include cozy, familiar, unpretentious, charming, accepting, welcoming and charming. I needed this kind of drama after I tried finishing Squid Game (after watching Squid Game, it left me sad). Hometown Cha cha cha is a feel-good series.

This is primarily because of the two main leads who are very,very good actors. The supporting cast are also very talented. I especially like the landlady, halmeoni and Mi-Seon

Mi-Seon and the cop are also cute as a couple. Exceptional are episodes 9 and 10.

I'd also like to commend the show for showing string,empowered women. Hye-Jin is strong and independent. I like that she said she dressed up for herself and not her then boyfriend whom she readily dumped. I like that she and Mi-Seon aren't afraid to confess their feeling to a guy first. Du-sik had a line that said Women know best...and even HyeJin's father wasn't portrayed as ordering his wife around despite his sulky mood. And the time the village chief grabbed his ex-wifes arm, he was immediately rebuffed by their female friend who said it was wrong of him to do that. I really like the many positive values being shown in this series. Kudos to the writer,director and producers of the show.

It’s just so well done…refreshing, sweet, slow leisure build up, delightful seasoned cast that just deliver at each episode. I’m a great fan of Kim Sun-Ho & Shin Min-A who are so well cast in this drama. Thrilled there are 6 more episodes to look forward to.

Lyra Sep 25 2021 9:32 pm After yesterday’s episode. I feel like Du-sik has some sort of mentall illness where he feels like everybody is leaving him. First, he lose his parents at young age then he lose his grandpa. He also keeps hearing people gossiping about him that he’s unlucky because he keeps losing people around him.

As he growps up, he found family and love.. then they also died as well. I think the photo we see on early episodes is his wife and kid. Probably they die in a car accident? He’s probably the one who is driving. Thus making him think that he’s really the unlucky one because people around him always leave him.

Must be also why he keeps pushing people away and doing odd jobs so he won’t get attached. Must be harder for him because he’s doesn’t want to be a burder for everyone, he’s scared and that he must have been thinking he doesn’t deserve good things… until Ms. Dentist comes along :(

He’s lonely like Ms Dentist. Hope they have a good ending.

When she and Dusik went to Seoul, a friend of her pictured them together and posted that on group chat. She texted them: He pursued her and she disliked it. Excuse me? Dusik didn't say a single thing about her, he is not only helps her but also everyone. He is kind and gentle. That is what you said to a person who helped you gain money, help your car, find you a place to sleep? She bites the hand that feeds her. Every single episode. She is so so so uncomely. In episode 5, she even looks down to Dusik, she said their social status is different, she doesn't want anything happen between them. So discourteous. Really really rude. Who ever said that to a person helpes her every single day? Du Sik changes her outlook on life, throwed away her reputation the hometown. And now she is saying he doesn't fit her. Wow. So uncomely. She is an educated woman but the way she behaves is like a child. I'm so socked cause she is 34. Unthankful, disrepect, arbitrary, self-centered. DuDu Sik is such a gentleman and the person who doesn't fit is Hye Jin. Sik is such a gentleman and the person who doesn't fit is Hye Jin.

I like all the characters, especially Kim Seon Hoo. He plays the character so well and I can feel him in every episode grow Hong Du Sik emotions that feel lonely, want some loves, but afraid to love someone. How he loves Hye Jin so much but he is so afraid to love her, but he does not want Hye Jin leave him so bad. This confusing love and complicated one make Hong Du Sik character and Kim Seon Ho nailed it. I hope the rating will be increasing well, because all of the actor and actress, the story, the producer, the writer deserve it. I absolutely will watch this drama until it finished.

What Did Hong Du Sik Do After 5 Years Of Graduation? (He Study Engineering At Seoul National University)

If you rewatch the scenes, when the first time hye jin visit du sik's house, there will be a conversation between the two of them. And hye jin asked "have u ever leave Gongjin" du sik answered "I have" Then hye jin asked "when? Or how long" ( i forgot) then du sik said "you cross the lines/boundaries" I concluded du sik didn't like hye jin to know about his dark past, and when they gather in oh Yoon's cafe, pay attention to du sik. He sings a song, that tells the person who lost himself in the past (?) Is that a coincidence?? Well not. Because Du sik has sung that song!!! Not oh yoon. Hong Du Sik (i assumed) had a very darker past, that cause him to PTSD illness (he met a psychiatrist in Seoul) damn the director give us more cluee

mia Sep 22 2021 11:56 am it's been a half of the series yet i already feel overwhelmed by each person's story. The plot is very simple but well made and it's so heartwarming. Each character is so relatable and that's what makes this drama alive imho.

For the eps 7&8 i cried over hong banjang a lot. He's so bright in front of pol and help them a lot yet he never let ppl know his struggle. He's the most lonely here. There r still a lot of his mysteries so im looking forward to it.

And for dr. Yoon, introvert ppl most likely relate to her. However sometimes i dont like her arrogance but later on i can slowly understand why she likes to bragging bout her achievements. It's bcz she got underestimated when she's younger so maybe that cause her 'unconscious' trauma.

Actually, I'm fed up with the toxic drama that is just a fight and endless problems in the story. But this hometown chachacha gives me joy every episode and gave me the opportunity to go to a relaxing place like GongJin even though I was just watching it as if I was also there and I felt the joy in my heart. This pandemic and you feel stress and sad, lonely, missing someone or feeling left out I tell you this drama is for you. It such a healing drama indeed. I really love it!!!!

This is just my thought, but I think the photo inside the book is Du Shik parents, Hye Jin accident when she's in highschool had something to do with Du Shik, maybe the accident happened in Gongjin, but what I'm still curious is what happened with Du Shik for 5 years after his college graduation

This drama always makes me think about 1 night 2 days, the lead actor in Mr. Hong movie is Kim Ju Hyeok, ex member 1n2d, Kim Seon Ho is current member of 1n2d, and the coffee/fish sauce games that Ji Seong Hyun suggest is the legendary game of 1n2d

nice Sep 19 2021 10:36 am very clichéd show, not much of a new storyline. good for a few laughs. hyejin and dusik have a great chemistry with everyone in the town, except each other. everytime hyejin acts differently to how he wants her to, he gets all sulky and guilt trips her. i'd rather sunghyeon and dusik became bffs and didn't fight over her, they seem so happy together. i'm kinda more invested in the miseon-euncheol love line and the chohui-hwajeong relationship (pretty sure the former is yearning for the latter.)

It was hard to watch the series without laughing so much with the differences and similarities of HDS to KSH in real life. Especially on the scene where HDS can surf while in real life KSH can't stand on a surf board properly and Seonho's dancing skills. Also, I love his chemistry with SMA. I guess it's her comeback drama after a hiatus? These two never fail to amaze me with their acting. Lastly, I'm so happy to see KMS from ODG to small screen. :)

The visual and chemistry of the main couple, the acting and chemistry of the ensemble cast, the setting and cinematography, the ost and music score, the writing and directing, every element made this kdrama a masterpiece. Definitely one of the best out there.

Leaves you feeling full and wanting more from a rom-com, haven’t felt this after her private life. No big tales to tell , just a slice of life with such a warm feeling. Great job Team!

Something seemed strange, and I missed her natural very touching somewhat clumsy look. Her eyes seemed much different from My Girlfriend is a Gumiho. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe she just lost even more weight? Anyway, the story and the acting of everyone involved is very heartwarming and meaningful.

I will be bias if I will not mentioned this, first I had watched this drama because of Kim Seon Ho. In this drama, at least the visual chemistry between him and SMA is superb (in this drama, he is match with the visual of the female lead SMA) both have a pretty face which one important aspect to be considered in pairing with kim seon ho, because he has really a pretty handsome face and a brilliant actor.

You failed to realize that her tiny misconceptions about the village were crucial in the script for her character development.

I especially love how her character is not 100% good, she's realistic and just as human as the rest of us. The backbiting scene was so embarrassing but it increased the realism in the show.

I'm looking forward to seeing his story unfolds. I really like his character. He is willing to help but doesn't want to trouble anyone around him. Kim Seon Ho gives justice to this character. Likewise with Shin Min Ah and the rest of the cast. Their overall chemistry is superb!

Before the show starts, I doubt KSH SMA chemistry. However, they pulled it perfectly! This show gets more interesting exponentially as the story develops, episode by episode. Ep.1 was kind of slow. Those who stopped at Ep.1, should resume watching since the real excitement hits Ep.3 onwards! Counting days for episode 5. Keep up the good work HCCC team! Cinematography is A+. So far so good, Kim Seonho managed to get away from Han Jipyeong image in this drama. TBH I like Hong Du-sik as much! And, wow, I can say that this person is so shining shimmering splendid, I feel like enchanted the whole time! Shin Min-a is beautiful, she could pull off a role who is much younger than her actual age, like, really well. Hyejin's age is supposed to the same as my age, though she looks so much prettier than the ahjumma me ?.

So far, the story, has very interestingly, and superbly portraying an ordinary Korean village life of its ordinary folks with their ordinary problems that they face in their ordinary everyday lives. I think the cast is totally top brass, powerful talents gathered together by the casting director, Bravo, also to the director for his ability to bring out the talents of his actors out in the open , bravo to you all , Well done . Cant wait til next week .

By the way I also watched ,you are my spring that was very weak, that tried to follow mystery and romance but was to able to pull the romance part. Sorry , but I did enjoy the twin character’s actor , the secondary lead..

To all of the supporting actors/actresses,...excellent job!. The pace, the seamless storyline, perfect dose of dramatic acts. My way to survive a tv series is to let all the protruding shortcomings go. Just ignore those. Such as, clearly empty packaging boxes, annoying cheap and old dubbing sounds for an extremely expensive, new car, lousy works by the make up artists and the fashion stylists. Btw, the two leads are of excellent pairs to watch.

But after episode 2,3 its not my love for seon ho any more that keeps me watching the story, the lessons you will learn from every episode. It’s worth of your time. The chemistry of the leads is no joke. Now waiting for the next episode becomes my agony. I love them both. Finally i get over with dalmi.

They're really both good actors, we love how the story goes that not only focus on leading's pov but also with other characters. Chief Hong's words "Life isn't so fair for all of us. Some spend their whole lives on unpaved roads, while some run at full speed only to reach the edge of the cliff." are my favorite, personally.

The characters and people from the seaside village shown in this drama also reminds of characters from the hit drama crash landing on you. Loving this drama so far. It is a breath of fresh air. Not to mention, shin min ah beauty is flawless and unreal. She is an angel without wings.

Maybe it's still too early to say since I've just watched two episodes out of sixteen but this gives me a feel good vibe that helps me clear my head away from the chaotic new normal we have now. The way things are going on, it's very refreshing to go away and take a break but it still impossible to do that, good thing that the setting of this light drama with a sweet comedy is a seaside village with a panoramic view. I could only imagine the breeze brushing off all my worries and pains!

As expected the bedimpled duo has a perfect chemistry on screen, Kim Seon-ho still carries his good boy charm (remnants of Start-up) plus a silly child-like but cute beam (reminds me of Waikiki 2) whenever he watches Shin Min A from afar. The way he smiles when he looks at Hye Jin from afar makes me feel tiny pinches inside my chest. Hye Jin's character is a fussy city girl who really needs a character redevelopment and let us just watch how the Jack-of-all-trades Du-sik is going to help her repair her flaws. The village peeps also reminds me of the quirky gang of "corn salad" Vincenzo of how they unite and stay loyal to their peers which was shown when someone from their village has been through an "accidental" ego attack.

This drama is like a seafood platter with a variety of flavor. Can't wait for the next episode.

And fun to see other stars I recognize. And like others have said, the view is gorgeous and plus, the small town feel reminds me of Doc Martin in Cornwall. Great entertainment, Thank you.

I also love that the actors don't need to exaggerate their acting. They just go with the calm flow of the story even how angry they are they don't need to be over dramatic. Even the rich and poor vibe of this drama isn't too dramatic as well and love that so much. That's one of the things that I appreciate. Like when Hye-Jin felt disgusted about working at the market place and working with the whole squid stuff. I'd feel and act the same as she did XD. I can really relate to the way she reacted there. The scene was so good that it didn't feel annoying. If that kind of scene was done in other drama like rich and poor drama it will be overly dramatic and extremely annoying for sure.

In his overalls and that cute dimples he steals everyone's hearts!!! To everyone who likes a kdrama with a hint of countryside and beaches its a great pick beacuse the filmography is awesome. After watching a brutal drama like the devil judge this drama is a just what you need. I am really looking forward to it ;)

wede Aug 30 2021 7:48 pm still on the fence after 2 eps. beautifully shot, plus kim sunho is great in his role. on the minus side, the story/ premise is rather boring, the supporting cast pretty weak, and female lead seems unsuited for her role (plus she looked older than male lead despite supposedly younger in the story) - wouldve been better if they had casted seo hyunjin/ shin hyesun/ shin sekyung - shin minah gives off vibe of washed out single mom start up CEO rather than junior dentist off to a new start.

I'm super tired of generic exaggerated/overly dramatic kdrama and I'm really looking for this type of drama and I'm glad I found this one. I hope this drama will not change its course and just continue the "feel good" vibe. Just heartwarming and interesting.

I'm also interested with Shin Min-A and Kim Sun-Ho's relationship development. I love their romance development so far...it's just so natural. They look good together!

I love the BRILLIANT coincidence flashback between Hye-Jin and Du-Sik by the end of episode 2! It's so good! I really like this drama. I wonder if Du-Sik did remember her though? I wish he did. I'm looking forward to Episode 3!

For me this is better than other type of kdrama like Doom At Your Service. I dropped Doom At Your Service after like 2 episodes cause it has a depressing ambiance and the plot is uninteresting. I didn't even care what will happen next.

But with this one I'm looking forward to the next episodes!

This drama is very light. No big plot twist. No complicated plot. But it is beautiful in every way.

I actually get the same feels as with "Reply" series, a drama where you will love all the casts and learn with them as their own life story unfolds.

Jasmine Aug 30 2021 5:16 am Past few dramas are overly dramatic and heavy, so with this light hearted drama which they are focusing on a healing genre really came at the right time among the heavy dramas.

The cinematography is excellent and indirectly promoting this area of korea. Being not able to travel due to covid, it makes me appreciate the scenery alot more.

At first I felt that Dushik doesn't blend well with the country side vibe because he is too handsome and even with those raggy clothes he is wearing he made them look trendy. He is also fairer than the other older ahjummas. Probably after watching more episodes I may get used to it. But hopefully he gets more tanned and wear even more old fashioned clothes to blend in even more.

I'm glad every episode they tie up the loose ends on those issues that was brought up in each episode and not let it drag longer, e.g hyejin vs cafe owner

There are 14 more episodes to go, until now I've no idea how they are going to develop the story but I'm interested to know Dushik story on why he take up so many licenses, any past gf, what happened to his parents, did he move in recently because he is aware of the new trend of sports wear, etc.

1. I love the cinematography in this drama with all the seaside view, harbor, restaurant with sea view, cafe. All of them are give healing vibes. 2. I love Gongjin’s community! Especially the cafe owner. He gave such positive vibes, also I love the design of his cafe. Other than that, I love how this drama highlight the side character back-story. Also, the way Gongjin’s community closed to each other. 3. Kim Seon Ho’s character was written well! Thumbs up to the scripwriter. He’s somehow cold (only to hyejin i guess), but somehow he’s the one who would be the middle-man of all things in Gongjin. 4. Shin Min Ah’s character is the typical city-girl who like ewwwww what a rural area is this~~~ but at least we see the character development in episode 2! ^^

Personally, I don’t like this.

1. So far, I can’t get their chemistry as a lover. Just like a friend, hell yesssss! Idk if i’m affected by the fact thay Shin Min Ah is dating Kim Woo Bin in real life. :( at least i shouldn’t mix these thing.

In conclusion, everything are good except thing i highlighted! Worth watching. Can’t wait for next episode! I hope can get their chemistry for next episode. I love both KSH and SMA ^^

Pearl Aug 30 2021 12:36 am This drama gives you laid back and warm feels. Shin Min Ah, our queen of romcom is doing really well, mixing comedy, drama and warmth in every scene. Kim Seon Ho, I watched him in Two Cops but he showed his versatility as an actor here, I am impressed! I think he really prepared for this role and I might watch his other dramas.

Overall, if you need to de-stress every weekend, this one is for you. First 2 episodes were both heart-warming, not to mention the perfect cast of villagers and halmeonis that adds spice to the story. Cinematography is top notch and the OST on every epilogue is just perfect to wrap up every episode. Can’t wait for next week!

Chai Aug 29 2021 11:32 pm So far its good, a mix of comedy and drama and showing the life in country side with the elders. Cinematography is one of the best. The directing is not the kind of best cause of some issue in focusing the camera in the actors and actress.

SMA and Kim Seon Ho has a good visual, however since KSH is a baby face, you can noticed that SMA looks older than him, but in the second episode it was Hong Du Sik is older than her , ( which is not realistic in that sense)

Still will continue watching the drama because of KSH, he is indeed well prepared in his character, a very good actor.

I like the line KSH delivered about people having a hard time and yet they tried their best to make out of it. Not everyone is born with a golden spoon. I will watch this show till the end because I know that I can relate in some ways.

Hyejin is so relatable. Like many people see you as cold because you are not that social, and that having that feeling of superiority complex at times (but it doesn’t make her a bad person) is just so human.

Kim Seon Ho is very spot on with his acting. I am loving Du Sik not only because of the very warm character but because KSH is so good you can’t help but feel his emotions. You can see him giddy, concerned, and disappointed…

I just hope that people will get over the bias that a countryside setting will be boring. I am not sure what they are looking for since this is a slice of life, healing drama.

The ensemble casts are great, the cinematography is so nice, looking forward to the next episodes!

Yujin A Aug 29 2021 9:23 pm A pretty well balanced romantic-comedy and slice-of-life drama. Directing is not the best, but at least still above the average, so it is okay-ish. Cinematography is top notch. But among these, the writing is seriously one of the best aspect of this drama. I like the way how the male lead helps the female lead by showing her the ropes, not as knight in armour & damsel in distress troupe like usual k-dramas. It is not a cheesy drama. Yes, male lead got interested in the girl since the beginning, but that's it: an interest, not yet a crush. It is not about the story of someone who suddenly blinded by love at their first encounter.

Not taking that cheesy element might risk the drama become more boring, but the actors casted are capable enough to balance it out with comedy aspect. SMA get a lot better than her previous romantic dramas which I personally found over-the-top acting sometimes there, and KSH is trully live up to his name as one of the most anticipated actor this year.

I also love how this drama gives supporting characters screen time. The way it is executed until episode 2, I'm sure that the story wont get draggy in the middle of drama since literally there are so many arch of characters that can be explored.

So far I enjoyed this drama well.

sam Aug 29 2021 11:39 am despite the visuals being beautiful,the drama once again lacks logic like other life dramas, du-sik (kim seon ho) looks more like he's from out of town instead of portraying him as the local boy around. i dont know what it is about this actor (shin min ah) but she always manages to make every drama she's in incredibly boring & has no chemistry with the male lead whatsoever. not the slightest spark. hye jin doesn't give any dentist vibes or demeanor. people working in the medical field give some sort of a vibe. all in all the drama doesn't really compel you to watch the next episode.

Even his appearance is far away from Mr Hong (Kim Joo hyuk). Imagine a local man who always doing outdoor/rough job. Will he have white skin? Skinny? Nice hair?.

I am afraid this drama would ruin his acting skill and not lead him to another good project that can grow his character/skill.
