Two weeks after Yuriko's mother Otomi dies, Yuriko goes to visit her father. She is worried that her father may have lost the will to live. Yuriko has also decided to divorce her husband. When Yuriko arrives at her father's home, a young woman named Sachie is already living in her father's home. Sachie tellls Yuriko that Yuriko's mother Otomi asked her to help with family chores for 49 days until her memorial service. Also, her mother's wish is that she wants everybody to have a party on the 49th day. At first, Yuriko and her father oppose the idea, but they learn of a "recipe" which her mother left behind which changes their minds.
