- ep. 37 Dong-woo confesses his love to Hae-kyung, and she is unable to tell him that she is already engaged to Woon-hyuk. Upon hearing this, Young-eun is thrilled and goes to Hae-kyung's mother and suggests that her daughter and Dong-woo should get married at once.

- ep. 67 Dong-woo is seriously injured during the battle, and Chang-joo quickly sends him away to the medic. Hae-kyung helps the injured soldiers instead of evacuating. Meanwhile, upon hearing that Dong-woo is injured, Suk-kyung rushes to the hospital.
- ep. 68 Dong-woo learns that Woon-hyuk and Hae-kyung are still at Mt. Chiyak. Chang-joo and Dong-woo head for Mt. Chiyak to begin their battle against the communists.
- ep. 69 When Dong-woo tries to climb up the mountain, Chang-joo warns to him that both Hae-kyung and Woon-hyuk will be killed and that Dong-woo must not try to save them. A huge battle breaks out on the mountain.
