Seoul 1945/Ep. 1 -35 Plot Synospsis
- ep. 1 An accident takes place at Moon Ja-jak's factory, leaving many casualties. Instead of taking care of the accident, he locks the factory door and proceeds with the celebration party for his daughter.
- ep. 2 The Korean War begins, and North Korean soldiers quickly invade the South. Instead of telling the truth, Suk-kyung broadcasts false reports that South Korean soldiers are heading towards the North. But soon enough, Seoul is completely invaded by the North
- ep. 3 Moon Ja-jak tries to hide the accident that occurred in his factory, and goes ahead with the celebration party. Meanwhile, families of laborers who were hurt wait in front of the factory, not knowing what is going on inside.
- ep. 4 Woon-hyuk and other laborers ruin the party, and for stabbing Moon Dong-ki, Woon-hyuk gets arrested. Despite many casualties, Moon Ja-jak shows little support or concern.
- ep. 5 Young Suk-kyung gets lost in the water while swimming. Moon Ja-jak, her father, asks villagers to help him find her and that he will pay any reward.
- ep. 6 Dong-woo finds and saves Suk-kyung's life, and Woon-hyuk gets taken by the police. Moon Ja-jak tells Lee In-pyung that he wants to show his son a token of his appreciation.
- ep. 7 Upon getting an urgent message from Father, Suk-kyung and Gae-hee hurry back to Seoul. But they get caught up in unexpected practice evacuation and there, they meet Woon-hyuk for the first time.
- ep. 8 Woon-hyuk passes the bar exam, but he decides to give up when the Bureau of Judicial Affairs requests him to get a personal reference from Moon Ja-jak. When learning that his friends are trying to kill his older brother, Moon Ja-jak, Moon Dong-ki begs his
- ep. 9 Suk-kyung volunteers to send her personal reference for Woon-hyuk. Dong-woo comforts Moon Ja-jak for worrying about his daughter's unexpected actions by saying Woon-hyuk is his close friend.
- ep. 10 Upon hearing that her uncle, Moon Dong-ki is in danger, Suk-kyung goes to Woon-hyuk and begs him to help him. Through his and his friends' efforts, Dong-ki successfully escapes, but he gets taken to the police station along with his friends and even Suk-k
- ep. 11 Dong-ki and Ki-soo escape to the Soviet Union, but when learning that Woon-dong has been arrested because of them, they think of ways to get him out of prison. Meanwhile, Suk-kyung confesses her love for Woon-hyuk and promises that she will look after him
- ep. 12 Suk-kyung and Gae-hee escape Moon Ja-jak's watchful eyes to find Woon-hyuk. After learning that his daughter ran away to find Woon-hyuk, Ja-jak orders Chang-joo to find her and bring her home without anybody knowing.
- ep. 13 Scandal breaks out that pianist Suk-kyung ran off to Leningrad for communist Woon-hyuk. The upset Moon Ja-jak orders Chang-joo to make it look as if Suk-kyung was kidnapped by Woon-hyuk and to kill him.
- ep. 14 Despite starvation and cold weather, Suk-kyung and Gae-hee finally arrive at Leningrad and find Woon-hyuk. Although thankful, he tries to send them back to Seoul. Suk-kyung finds a job as a pianist to not become a financial burden to Woon-hyuk.
- ep. 15 Chang-joo finds Suk-kyung, but when he sees her playing the piano at a restaurant, his heart burns with rage at Woon-hyuk for making her suffer. Meanwhile, the governor who tries to take the mine away from Moon Ja-jak comes up with a scheme to frame Moon
- ep. 16 Chang-joo heads for Korea with Suk-kyung and Gae-hee. When learning that his daughter is on her way home, Moon Ja-jak decides to kill Gae-hee so that she will not expose the truth about the trip to Leningrad.
- ep. 17 Gae-hee buries her father's body with the help of Choi Eun-kwan and Cho Soon-lee. Gae-hee changes her name to Hae-kyung, and begins her new life in Kyungseong. Meanwhile, Chang-joo asks Moon Ja-jak to give his daughter's hand to him.
- ep. 18 Woon-hyuk disguises himself and comes to Korea. Meanwhile, Dong-woo who has been staying with Lee Seung-man in the US writes to his father telling him that Korea will soon be liberated from Japan.
- ep. 19 Hae-kyung and Suk-kyung meet again after 4 years. Suk-kyung orders her to disappear, but Hae-kyung warns her that Gae-hee who was her servant no longer exists, and she is now Hae-kyung. Meanwhile, Woon-hyuk aims a gun to Chang-joo to stop him from killing
- ep. 20 Woon-hyuk asks Suk-kyung where Gae-hee (Hae-kyung) is, and Suk-kyung's heart aches that he should ask her that question. Meanwhile, per his son's advice, Lee In-pyung keeps a low profile and begins to quit any business that is related to Japan.
- ep. 21 On August 15, 1945, it is announced that Japanese colonization is completely over and Korea has gained independence once again. People shout in joy and run out on the streets. Despite his daughter's plea, Moon Ja-jak refuses to leave his hometown.
- ep. 22 Suk-kyung begs Woon-hyuk to save her father's life, but he refuses her plea. Yeo Yoon-hyung emphasizes the importance of gathering people's power in order to establish a new government for the newly independent Korea.
- ep. 23 Woon-hyuk secretly tells Moon Ja-jak and his family about a route to avoid getting caught. However, Moon Ja-jak grows suspicious of Woon-hyuk and thinks he has set up a trap.
- ep. 24 Moon Ja-jak asks his brother to take care of his daughter, Suk-kyung and wife. Amekaori (Suk-kyung's mother) suggests her daughter to leave for Japan, but she refuses.
- ep. 25 In-pyung makes it clear to Dong-woo that he must cut any ties with Suk-kyung as she once ran away from home for another man. Meanwhile, Suk-kyung decides to stay in Korea, and asks Yoon Jung-ja to be sure and take her mother to Japan safely.
- ep. 26 Suk-kyung who returns to her family's mansion is shocked to see how the villagers took over her house. Meanwhile, Hae-kyung feels sorry for Woon-hyuk for suffering so much for helping Moon Ja-jak and his family. Woon-hyuk asks her to be with him and be ha
