Plot

"Sassy Girl, Chun-hyang” is the 2005 interpretation of the “Legend of Chun-hyang.” The story begins when Lee Mong-ryong is transferred from Seoul to a high school in Namwon, North Jeolla Province. Chun-hyang does her best to help Mong-ryong, her first love and the son of the Namwon Police Station chief, to enter a prestigious university. However, after meeting with Mong-ryong’s first love, Chae-rin, Mong-ryong’s love toward Chun-hyang is shattered, although Chun-hyang’s love remains unwavering.

One day, Byeon Hak-do, CEO of a famous entertainment company, appears in her life. He exudes confidence that he can make any woman fall for him. However, as Chun-hyang shows no interest in him, his self-esteem is damaged profoundly. Byeon Hak-do is determined to make her love him. -- KBS

louie Aug 05 2023 11:05 am I remember this drama being my 2nd or 3rd KDrama after Dae Jang Geum and Full House. Yet I dont really understand the plot back then. But finally, after illegally rewatching it from Youtube, I gain my memory, haha.... . I love how Choon Hyang`s love for Moon Ryeong never fades by time no matter the disturbances and threats, even still believing in him after the bad news made by crazy Hak Do. I`m super mad at Moon Ryeong for being irresponsible to Choon Hyang and running for Chae Ri instead, but glad he realizes in the middle of the drama just how pure Choon Hyang`s love for him despite being MIA For Years!!! Chae Ri and Hak Do are total villains. They`re unbelievably selfish and evil and stupid at the same time, wanting the ones beyond their control to love them back. . I also love how kind Moon Ryeong`s parents are to Choon Hyang, despite she is the girl who`s trapped in trouble with their son. Yet unlike them both, I have to say that Choon Hyang`s mother is a total a**h*le. She takes Choon Hyang`s savings for going to uni for her business, and then ditches out when she finds out she spent All Of Them and Couldnt Return to her own daughter! She`s the one who destroys Choon Hyang`s dream, makes Choon Hyang work hard for daily living, and leaves her alone in her dark times! I`m sure Choon Hyang won`t desperately need Hak Do`s help if only her mother could take responsibility for her actions!

upi Aug 23 2022 3:00 am my gateway to k-drama addiction.. you can't compare this with today's drama, but this one is legendary.. after watching some of Hong Sisters' works, i could feel their touch in this drama now and the discovery validated this drama to be a special one among all from that time..

When I rewatch this again, I still hate byun hak do and chae rin, frustrated with chun hyang and annoyed with her friend, dan hee. But I love chun hyang and mong ryong interaction, they're so funny and lively. This makes me want to watch other old dramas XD

olla Apr 20 2016 8:53 pm Chae-rin makes me so mad. I'm rewatching it and I had forgotten how downright evil she is. Oh! And Byun Hak-do is almost cartoonishly villainous. He starts off being a little petty, but the goes full-on crazy. They are both bonkers.

Still love it, but I'm just seething at these characters. They really draw it out. I do love the slow burn. (Plus it's extra special because it the first Korean drama that I ever watched... and My Girl was such an awesome follow-up)

This is my second kdrama tha I watch after full house, because this drama was aired in my national television... really really really fall in love with this drama...this is one of my best drama I ever watched!! :D I will never ever forget this drama for the entire my life...because watching this drama is like bring so many memories :D I hope Chae Young and JAe Hee will sonn comeback as a couple in the new drama.their chemistry is the best!!! :D I am kinda feeling disappointed because for me Chae Young and JAe Hee are like legend in korean drama industry, but ppl who new to kdrama not really know them :'(( and also they often play in drama that not good (in my opinion) I hope they as acouple or as an indvidual will get great great drama, so people will look at them agaiiiinnnnn :D Fighting Chae Young and Jae Hee!!!!!!!!! :D and also this Hong sister first drama, Thanked to them they write this beautiful story :D I love the historical part in this drama so muchhhhhhh!!! :D

gomie Mar 30 2015 12:35 pm 10 years past.. i hope i can see Han Chae Young and Jaehee make a comeback as a couple like Lee Da Hae and Lee Dong Wook.. this drama is at the first place in my favorite korean drama list all the time.. this drama that make me love Hong Sister's drama so much.. their storyline is just like a rollercoaster fun, funny, sweet, cute, sorrow and the chemistry of the cast is just so memorable. unfortunately, i never seen jaehee as a lead male on the other drama anymore.. he is now more often play as supporting cast which is little bit make me sad.. because he has great acting talent
