- "Return" takes over SBS' Wednesday & Thursday 22:00 time slot previously occupied by "Judge vs. Judge" and followed by "Switch: Change the World" on March 28, 2018.
- First script reading took place November 15, 2017 at SBS Ilsan Production Center in Tanhyun, South Korea.
- Ep. 15 and 16 was originally scheduled to air Thursday, February 8, 2018, but will instead air Wednesday, February 14, 2018. The delay is due to broadcasting of the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics.
- Ko Hyun-Jung has dropped out of "Return." Ko Hyun-Jung and the director have had disagreements over her character's limited appearance in the drama series, which led to SBS announcing on February 8, 2018 that Ko Hyun-Jung has left the drama series.
- Park Jin-Hee will play lead female character Choi Ja-Hye from episode 15.
