Based on the true story of novelist Osamu Dazai.

Osamu Dazai (Shun Oguri) is the one of the most popular author in Japan, but he is absorbed in alcohol and love. He is married and has two lovers.

Phyllis Apr 19 2020 7:25 am It has Shun Oguri in it, so I instantly wanted to watch it, and the discovered it also had Tatsuya Fujiwara in it as well. That makes this movie a double 'have to watch' for me. It's entertaining. Funny and sad, and even leaves me with the 'why was he like that?' I would recommend this movie to others, especially if they enjoy Japanese stories, and this story was true. Possibly not 100 percent accurate, but very entertaining to me.

Kwon Miho Jun 20 2019 9:33 am @Jordan its based on Dazai, not Oba... its not Ningen Shikkaku novel adaptation, but Dazai life story... hahaha maybe they use Ningen Shikkaku on title because of the meaning, Oba and Dazai suffering same condition @anna i know that famous anime, but this is based from real Dazai... not the fictional character

anna May 01 2019 3:01 pm As a fan of Bungou Stray Dogs, I would love to watch the movie because I am curious to the real life Osamu Dazai with his "No Longer Human". Basically, I am curious to know many other authors because of characters' names in BSD. The casts are amazing. From the teaser, I can also picture Shun Oguri as BSD's version of Osamu Dazai.
