Michiko (Yoshino Kimura) has been married to Shunpei (Masato Hagiwara) for 20 years and they have two children. She is housewife who enjoys her peaceful days. Shunpei runs a ryotei (classical Japanese-style restaurant). One day, Tae (Miki Mizuno]]) appears in front of Michiko and tells her that she has been in an affair with Shunpei for the past 6 years. Tae shows Michiko divorce papers that Shunpei has already signed. Making things worse, Michiko discovers that the ryotei is in heavy debt and on the verge of bankruptcy. Michiko then makes an offer to her husband's mistress. She will divorce Shunpei if Tae will pay the 60 million yen that the ryotei owes. Michiko then decides to rebuild the ryotei.
