Yoo-Jin (Joo Won) is a university student majoring in piano. He has a world famous pianist father, exceptional music talent and attractive appearance, but his one weakness is that he can't ride in an airplane or boat due to a childhood trauma. Because of his phobia, Yoo-Jin is unable to travel to Europe to learn conducting even though he badly wants to become a conductor.

One day, Yoo-Jin gets drunk and falls asleep on the doorstep of Nae-Il (Shim Eun-Kyung). She lives next door to Yoo-Jin. The next morning, he wakes up and finds himself in a room full of trash and he sees Nae-Il. Nae-Il falls in love with him and follows him around. Nae-Il is also a piano major and takes lessons from Professor Ahn Gun-Sung (Namgung Yeon). Yoo-Jin is soon assigned to take lessons from Professor Ahn Gun-Sung as well. His arrogance has led him to take lessons from Professor Ahn Gun-Sung rather than Professor Do Gang-Jae (Lee Byung-Joon) who is renown for instructing many famous pianists. Professor Ahn Gun-Sung then assigns Yoo-Jin to perform a piano duet with Nae-Il. At first, Yoo-Jin insists that Nae-Il follows his instructions, but he soon changes and accepts her way to play the piano.

Yoo-Jin then hears that world-famous conductor Franz Stresemann (Baek Yoon-Sik) will be coming to his university. Yoo-Jin is ecstatic, because he can learn from Franz Stresemann without going to Europe. Yoo-Jin is unaware though that Franz Stresemann dislikes his father and his famous childhood musical instructor Vieira.

Minchi Aug 19 2021 5:21 pm As many people said, if you have read and watched the original one then you simple can't watch korean version. It's one of the best manga and jdramas I've watched, my favorite tbh and it pisses me off when people call Nodame clingy. That's her character, her personality and it's the reason this whole manga ever existed. Juri Ueno was marvelous on this one, she portrayed Noda 100% on the spot!

Dive Oct 03 2020 12:55 pm Park Bo Gum conducting an orchestra is one of cutest.. I am glad I found this drama. I am learning and being educated about music as well. I watched kdramas of Joo Won before but I fell for him on this one. FYI, the female lead character is just acting based on the manga. Actually, this was toned down a bit. In the Japanese version, the female lead is weirder and creepier.

Brian Jul 09 2020 3:04 pm One of the first Korean dramas I watched and I loved it. Watched the whole thing 3 times snd thought Shim Eun-Kyung was great fun in it.... I'm not sure why she drew fire for her performance. Many of the actors had excellent performances. Min Do-Hee and Ahn Kil-Kang also stood out for the fun characters they played.

RosAa Feb 15 2019 12:59 pm I'm on ep7 and tbh I understand what the fuss is all about now. LOL. I really wanted to love this series and for the first few episodes, i actually liked it. But now I'm finding it hard. I understand that they put twists and stuff but i was kinda hoping that the way the leads just kinda accidentally got stuck with each other and slowly became each other's rock would stay the same. And Idk.. each character's are unique and really lovable.. what about the other members of the S orche?. Also, they put a character that shouldn't even exist here. LOL Is Park Bo Gum here just for the ratings? although it didn't really change anything did it? XD I like looking at him but I can't get the fact that he shouldn't even exist out of my head. At least not this early. I think his character was based on the Japanese conductor they met in Paris plus the oboeist that fell for Nodame. They want a strong second lead that badly. :/ And it's ruining it for me. lol and also the chairman. why does every kdrama has to have a chairman?! haha btw, Mine's character was amazingly done lol. i really appreciate go gyun pyo here. :) that's about it.

P.S. I just came here to rant about my frustrations haha. Sorry XD And as much as I love Park Bo Gum, I still cant with his character. I just can't. Now I need to continue watching. Good luck.

ElleXx Feb 13 2019 2:56 pm The reason I haven't been able to watch this drama for the longest time-like most probably everyone lol--was because I have been a fan of the manga and anime ever since they first came out which was probably around ten years ago. I couldn't even bring myself to watch the live action of Nodame Cantabile, I just feel that if anyone will act as Nodame, and would be true to the character, it wouldn't be as good as the anime simply because. lol doesn't make sense i know~

But with this Korean version, I find that they made it like any other typical Korean romcom, which I think is good. I don't expect it to be anything like the original story and im expecting a Kdrama flavor in it. Hopefully, i would like it. Btw, I'm still on episode 2 lol so maybe im gonna change my mind later. Cross fingers. XD

Bill Regan Nov 29 2018 4:30 am This was my first venture into watching Korean Dramas, and now I am hooked! Modern televisions allow for easy reading of subtitles which really helps. I thought the whole cast was fantastic. one or two areas of overplaying the part. I thought both leading actors were excellent and they encompassed their individual peculiarities well. Although I thought the messy room was a bit over the top, and on a few occasions Shim Eun-Kyung acted a little too young for the age depicted, but overall she was absolutely great as was Joo Won. A thoroughly enjoyable series. A nice subject for the drama with many unique quirky and complex characters. What I particularly like about Korean dramas is the insistence on concentrating on a good story (sometimes a bit sugary) lots of dialogue. They are not littered with lots of bedroom scenes and swearing which tend to make it easy for script writers, also we don't have to endure masses of computer generated scenes.

I like to see the story unfold naturally and The Korean dramas do a great job, especially those series under 24 episodes.

Well done, full marks, and as I stated elsewhere I am visiting Seoul next year for a holiday, all inspired by watching Korean Dramas.

Here, we can leave the comfort zone of conservative of classical music playing in orchaestra to something with freedom, warmer but not accordingly to rules... And when we fused them into one, we create something new. I love the actors and actress acting, the plot, the music and the cinematography! This drama is much better than Dream high, it teaches us that love can be a booster for a couple to pursue their dream! Some people gave negative review about female lead acts,.. However, i myself ever met someone with Seol Neil's personality. For some genious, people might see them as insane!

I think Eun Kyung’s acting brought out a funny, outgoing personality that was different from the Original Japanese’s version. I like Eun Kyung’s interpretation of the character better. It is a movie that leaves the viewer with hope and lightness of heart. I actually watched it twice. Kudos to the producer.

b Apr 22 2018 3:00 pm I watched this without any expectations from having seen a previous version. I'm not sure what the controversy was, but I imagine that it's because Nae-Il is relegated to a cheerleader role for a bunch of the beginning episodes. I think that makes her transformation that much more powerful! Not only that, but the show makes you invested in a bunch of students and teachers and they also grow and become better people. Other characters influence events more directly but it's Nae-Il that brings them together and makes this happen. The show only gets better as it goes on and there are a bunch of reasons to like it, but the most important reason to me is Shim Eun-Kyung!

Dian Dec 15 2017 2:37 am Nae-ll's character might be boring and weak here but the actress who played that role is a very good actress. i've watched some of her other works. This drama as a whole was perfect for a time pass, not that intriguing but still not that terrible either. At least Joo Won as Cha Yoo Jin made justice for his role like he always does with his other projects. I always thought that this drama should be written better. I quitted it by ep 8 i think huhu

Bee Mar 14 2017 1:47 am I love Nodame Cantabile's dorama. And still excited to watch this one. The only matter is Joo Won. I'm his fans but I don't think he is the exact portrayal of Chiaki. His expression is quite different from Chiaki. And Nodame is much crazier than Naeil, so I dunno why people complain that Naeil is too much. FyI, this drama is an adaptation of a manga and the lead female's childishness+prodigy is its key point. Ps: I didn't remember that I've watched Go Kyung Pyo and Park Bo Gum in this drama. Not until I check their Wiki. LoL

I haven't watched many k-dramas, but I've noticed a big trend for the woman lead to act childish and the male lead to be standoffish.

The show did have this dynamic, but it seems a lot more realistic and "wholesome" than what I've seen before. There's an innocence and genuineness to it that's so relatable.

The girl wasn't fake or going too far... she shows something that reminds me of myself and many others who try to push away the conformity of adulthood. The inner child can never be lost how much you try to pretend.

And the plot is so interesting...and carries in a natural way.

It engages the inner child and just enough complex adult feelings/scenarios... like another one that I enjoyed called "Tamra Island".

I was like "act your age lady !!!" everything depend on the lead actress she is the one who makes you love the drama or not. I really *totally* love the japanese version, and I couldn't help but compare~ I know It's silly of me to say that I felt they were "over-acting" considering how goofy and ridiculous the japanese version is :D ...sadly, that's how I felt during the first couple of episodes. But once I stopped comparing, I was able to enjoy and appreciate it more. I haven't read/ watch the manga/ anime, but this is quite different from the jdrama. I also loved this version because they made the characters more realistic and relatable. Juri Ueno is superb as nodame but Eun-Kyung as naeil is also very charming, I love them both! ...I laughed and cried, laughed and cried. It's sweet, funny and touching.

So which version is better? By default or bias, I usually think it's the original version, which in this case that makes it the manga (which I haven't read yet) :p Between the jdrama & kdrama, I love them both. I just don't think that this adaptation is as bad as others think it is :)

@Sean: I believe that piano piece is an original track for this series, it's called "Love Prelude" (사랑의 서곡/ Sarangi Seogok) by Song Byeong Jun :D It's the same one she played after Yoo-jin cleaned up her place in episode 1 ;)

seol naeil Mar 27 2016 11:17 am I expected this drama to be really boring after seeing the ratings and reviews but when I watched the first episode myself I actually really enjoyed it. Then I watched the rest of it in one or two sittings, and still thought it was worth watching. Maybe it's because everyone's comparing it to its Japanese counterpart (anime/drama I haven't seen yet), but as a stand-alone it was honestly really good. The pace is pretty consistent and there's nothing wrong with the acting - sometimes the plot does get a bit dramatic (with the A and S orchestra stuff), but otherwise I don't really see the problem? It's kind of like a summertime slice-of-life and isn't overly tense or emotional but it was all-round enjoyable and mainly pretty light. Plus eye-candy with the two male mains. I'd recommend.

It was graceful in it's slick and glamorous portrayal of the drama as a whole, but it was boring to boot. It didn't feel organic in it's quirkiness or the chemistry between the leads. The dynamic between them was too robotic. However I have watched the leads other dramas, and their both great actors. This series was just not in their stars.

tomorrowcantabile Mar 20 2016 8:51 am I think that this drama is highly underrated. The main actors are excellent, the scenery is absolutely fantastic, the music even better and the story is calm and nice.

However, I do understand why people can find it boring at times. Unlike the typical Korean drama, this drama doesn't really have any big twists and events. Instead it focuses on character development and life lessons, which I find refreshing.

I wish the plot was a little better and more fast-paced. Also, Nae-Il, the character, was annoying for the main part (same in the Japanese version). I also wish that Nae-Il and Yoo Jin would've had more intimate scenes (or at least a kiss scene!).

I've watched this drama more than five times since it was released two years ago and I wouldn't hesitate to watch it again. If you want a feel-good drama with great music, acting and scenery, this would be the perfect one. 8/10

Milly Mar 12 2016 12:17 pm I think they could make this drama in a more realistic way. Its a huge lost to have this kind of ratings for such talented actor. They could make this drama in a gracious and emotional way. The main couples relationship could build up step by step.Its more better if this story flows slowly. Their characteritics are also confusing.So sad because it is a wonderful theme.

One more thing, it is not easy to act like you are a professional piano player if you're not even a piano player, give them some credits because both Joo Won and Eun Kyung could excellently portray a couple of genius musicians when they're not even musicians. They just act and they act greatly.

I understand the director want to make different story but the director make Naeil in this story like a retard or more like a handicap woman. Nodame shows her real personality despite her weirdness but Naeil is so childish, stupid and unnatural. They take away all the important part in this story. It makes this story is so boring and irritating in the same time. The actors already good but the way they make this story is so annoying. I hate this story so much. I prefer Nodame Cantabile

Movie Buff Aug 24 2015 10:54 am We enjoyed the drama, although it was a bit different story. Characters were as usual very good. I watched Park Go- Gum as he is grown to a very handsome and future potential careers. We would like to see him with Kim Hee Sun in a comedy romance will be an interesting couple. He looks very mature. He will be rising to our new hottie person, where we would like to see him in more dramas, $$$$ maker and a demanding actor. Park Go-Gum be natural and show more body and facial expression in your characters. The drama showed a lot of potential for the characters, thank you staff for your fighting.

miki Aug 22 2015 4:24 pm I was quite disappointed in this mostly because deviations from the manga. I feel like they wasted Masumi, disastrously replaced Kuroki with Yoon-Hoo, ruined Stresemann and the Dean, and quite sadly didn't use the same music as the ones in the manga.

To me the most disappointing was the music, the mangaka chose those pieces for a specific reason and because they weren't used something was lost in the adaption. I can forgive Masumi, see why they created Yoon-Hoo, and even see why they chose to go the route they did with Stresemann and the Dean, but the music, in a drama that is supposed be about music, that's unforgivable.

Of course without this background you could say that this drama was good, in the way typical kdramas are good.

jaime Jul 01 2015 9:56 am there are so many comments about the japanese version being much more superior than the korean one that made my expectations drop to the bottom. almost gave this drama a miss (even though i didn't catch the jap ver) but boy luckily i watched it. i enjoyed 16/16 episodes of this drama! having 16 eps was surprisingly not draggy and the flow of the story was good! even though it might not be the most detailed drama, the cute little scenes between the mains and their friends makes the entire drama nice to watch. nothing too heavy or melo about the drama. maybe it's because im getting older (HAHA), but i really liked the relationship between nae il and yoo jin. i expected yoo jin to be all bastard and mean to nae il while she stupidly clings to him but no!!! naeil clings onto yoojin yes but it's because yoojin is a cold dude with a warm heart (which is so cute!!!!!!!) the affection naeil gives yoojin is the thing that i like the most about this drama (and how it sets itself apart from others).

the casting was on point too! i was all pumped to watch this drama when i decided to pick it up solely due to shim and SHE DID NOT DISAPPOINT! even though some may think she has over acted, i found her simply loveable from the start till the end. joo won's acting was great too! kinda changed my impression of him after this drama. their chemistry can be seen growing from the start till the end (excluding the berlin part) and their height difference is just... SO CUTE TvT

although many people have disliked the drama, i personally enjoyed it a lot and it's certainly something i will go back to. i guess personal preference does make a difference. even though it's like 0.000000000001% possibility, i wish that they can make a sequel, a short one will do, showing their lives overseas (just like the jap vers)..

or at least make the two mains work together again. pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeee i want to see them kiss :-(

Truthsavant May 21 2015 8:33 am Very enjoyable. I'm a big fan of the NC anime/manga series. And I thought this was a great adaptation. I liked how YooJin was nice to Naeil sooner than the anime.

Although I did like the tweaks they made like how YooJin's growth was sooner, Naeil was more normal, etc. I did not enjoy how they ruined Kuroki's character. I understand that they wanted to highlight the romance in this more, but Yoonhoo's character felt vain. Also WHY WAS THERE NO PURI-GUROTA???? (LOL) I did like how some characters was more prominent like Chiaki's mother, the Dean.

Anyway an enjoyable show, and IMO the casting was done very well. JooWon suit the role of Chiaki quite well, and Stresemann's actor too.

Good adaptation May 20 2015 2:34 pm Interesting adaptation. I totally disagree with people saying the Jver is better. IMO this one was way better than the Jversion. Joowon portrayed Chiaki quite well, same with Eun Kyung doing Nodame. My biggest disappointment was how they went a different way with Stresemann, he was just a jerk here and much different to the manga (although I did like that the actor and the anime voice actor had quite similar voices lol). I wanted to punch his face most of the time. Another was how Masumi was portrayed. He was so quirky in the manga/anime but here he was so boring, totally butchered the character. I also disliked the addition of Yoon-Hoo's character and how different he was to Kuroki, just an uninteresting character overall.

Anyway it's still a good adaptation, enjoyable to watch. Just they could've done better without the unnecessary tweaks in the story.

Each actor was perfect for their role! The classical music and performances were amazing and I loved every episode. It was cute, quirky, fun, silly and dramatic with revealing moments so true to life (as much as can be in a tv drama). I also liked the ending.

This show is now at the top of my FAVORITES LIST and I will watch it over and over for years to come. Great work and congratulations to everyone involved!!!

To compare, although Korean version has 16 eps, it still lacks strong relationships among those characters. I can't see their loves of music, also their friendship. A little change in storyline is good too, because there is Yoon Hoo! Different from the guy playing oboe in Jap ver, Yoon Hoo is more active and I like him much. I love Joo Won because of his acting (in other dramas). In this drama, when he plays a conducting scene, i have a feeling like there is Chiaki! But I can hardly see his passion. I have cried a lot with Jap ver, it touched my heart! It doesn't mean that I am disappointed with Korean ver, I enjoyed watching it too. Just to entertain, nothing reminds. Although I have studying about music since I was 6, but after watching Nodame Cantabile, I know how beautiful music is, and I fall in love with music! (Just want to share my feelings). In short, I like this drama. It is more logical and realistic.

His performance of conducting Mambo and playing the Cello was just too real. PRODUCERS PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF THIS GREAT TALENT. His acting otherwise was quite good but when he was playing the Cello or conducting, his expressions were just too real much much much thousand miles better than Joowon's. JooWon looked like a good actor paying a conductor with the nuances of a conductor and a pianist spot on BUT this boy looked like a real or a musician roped in to play a role in a drama. I was curious about him and googled in up and see what here, he is an actor. AMAZING TALENT. He is so good looking and a MEGA method actor in the making. Very natural actor. His age and tempo suited the main heroine better than JooWon, who looked toooo old for the heroine. Joowon is a great actor but IMHO he was miscasted in the drama. It's funny how I skipped the drama to Park Bo-Gum's parts which was imo very less but the best.

Park Bo-Gum is REALLY TALENTED. HOPE HE HAS A GREAT SUCCESSFUL CAREER AHEAD OF HIM.

rhea Dec 18 2014 7:22 am Not trying to compare but after watching this remake, I kinda feel dissapointed (IMHO, sorry guys). I like it, but not love it. I watched the japanese version a long time ago and I remembered how that drama gave me a whole different perspectives about classical music and make me into the genre. And when I heard this remake, I was super excited and can't wait to watching it. But it kinda fell down for me after watching it because all I got is not a musical drama, but another "korean romantic" drama. Yes, there are tons of classical music in this drama, but it kinda overused as background music into every scenes that makes the actual performances from our beloved casts at the concert lost its magic and wow factor. Most of their performances seems lacks of feeling. And there are also some side stories that I found boring and repeatable, especially on the romantic department. (Not to mention the editing is also kinda "jumpy" and "confusing" to watch). Don't get me wrong, I like korean dramas, I watched lots of them. But for this one, I kinda expect more music, and less romantic. But maybe majorities love romantic dramas so I can't really complain. :)

Beside all that, there are some good points that I got. The acting, SEK was struggling at first but later she finally naturally channeling Nodame very well. JW, I like his acting since Kim Tak Goo and still love his acting for this one. And the other casts also performed well, especially at comedic scenes, they managed to make me laugh).

Overall, I think the problem is the production like the overused musics and bad editing. Even I still don't like their interpretation, if they managed to produce it well, maybe it will be more tolerable.

SAB Dec 08 2014 9:01 am I actually love this drama and really sad it has to end. i watched the japanese version (plus 2 movies) and the anime also. and i read some comments complaining about this drama being too lack of romance scene and others complaining about the performance. yes, we cant compare the japanese or korean version. but i think both of them complete each other. the japanese version gives me strong impression on musical performance scene and took most of the drama and has strong comical sensse. yet this japanese version way too lack of romance scene than korean version (in my opinion). still, i love it especially when hiroshi tamaki conducting. better than joo won or bo gum i think. on the other hand, the korean version really is too sweet to handle. but the musical performance, i should admit it, didn't give me that strong impression like the japanese. and i think that this drama could get higher rating, though. just my opinion.

That's what I think and I'm perfectly okay with that. I love how they explore feelings and grow up around friends. I love the music and how they play it ( I don't think they are lacking). All the characters are important and cute. I really like Il Raks father and Prof. Do. He is just sooo funny. I love this drama because I still can enjoy the music, story, romance and comedy, all in one package. Yeah, I thought Nae Il in the first episodes is a little bit off. But she improve so much become cute and lovable little lady. Good job Shim Eun Kyung! .Thank you for this enjoyable drama.

Too much useless fillers development that i think they overused like naeil's submission form for piano competition. How come they waste almost 20 minutes for that part. No passion for the classic musics as they used less of them as the background music. School politics, love triangle (mehh) Yoo Jin's conducting is not that great and he did not improved that much instead we watched Yunhu's conducting (which is not good either). Their performance are mostly short and repeatable. So far, the ep i like is 13 because the entire ep they showed actually naeil can play the damn piano. The ending is also mehh..i don't care they the kissing part but at least show how successful both of them in europe. last sentence, please don't make the korean remake after this drama, its mostly sucks.

Overall, this drama still like other korean drama that focused romance as their main theme. It will be better if this drama extending the story in europe.

It's fluffy, light and have some top-the-notch funny moments. But, I really don't like the school politic part that sometimes make me like, "yeah, the Korean does it again..." For technical part, writing and cinematography is decent, especially what they did in character development, even though I feel Naeil and Yuujin have less messy hair than they supposed to be (like in the manga). But, I did feel annoyed with the editing, sometimes it feels so jumpy and not finished. Overall, I still like the Japanese version better, but I find the Korean version very entertaining

Jenn Nov 29 2014 4:12 am EVERYTHING WRONG WITH NAE IL'S CANTABILE = Lee Yoon-Hoo!!! This guy is annoying!! I've mentioned it before, why are secondary characters so stubborn?? Even when there not even a slight gleam of hope, they are always sticking their noses where they don't belong. Get a clue, PLEASE!! If you get rejected the first time, stop it!! What makes them think that persistence is the key here?? Unfortunately this takes up valuable screen time that could be used to develop the main characters, letting them evolve and grow as the show moves froward. Moreover, besides character development, this secondary character harassment also limits or eliminates the "fun" factor. At the beginning most stories are funny, with jocular and entertaining scenarios... but then the "drama" kicks into high gear and we lose a lot of the essence of the story. Maybe I'm nitpicking too much, but I sincerely wish that in future dramas they explore other facets, other ways to develop the story, show us more of their culture, etc., etc.

I love Joo Won and Eun kyung and their portrayals in this drama, Excellent acting, great musical performance and amazing feel of just right amount of drama, romance and comedy. I don't know what transpired in the Japanese version (never attempted to watch it), however it's kinda unfair hearing the never ending comparison between the two versions. As too which is better, who acts better, which is believable ect ect... Like some of the commenter mentioned, this is an adaptation and is expected to come out with their own version of the drama. And Eun Kyung made a really great performance as Nae Il.

We all have different reactions and opinions about the dramas that we are watching but I hope we give more love and appreciation rather than hate. :)

Those unfair remarks sort of bug me off, a little. But we have our own preferences, so. For me, this drama is good. It made me laugh and cry even for a short time. The humor, the story, cast, cinematography, music, they all blend well. While japanese dramas use slapstick humour, korean dramas are less comical. Story was more korean-ish but i love it (e.g. second male syndrome, hand grabbing etc.) Great acting (esp Joo Won as cha yoo jin). SEK as Nae il, when shes being funny i laugh with my hearts out, when she cries, my heart aches with hers. Im not good with classical music. I cant even tell the music played in the drama. but since I started watching TC, i find it interesting. I even downloaded and listen to classical music now. To the whole production team and cast FIGHTING! ♡

I don't think any other Korean actress would've done as well as she did. Also, please remember folks, that remakes are not supposed to be identical. If so it would've got boring. For example, the korean BOF is very different from the Jap. version. And another comment is that Korean dramas are just not very comical in general compared to Japanese dramas. It's the plain truth. Japanese adaptions of manga are very funny but there isn't a lot of romance development like Korean dramas. Thus, I feel that people should make a better judgement by understanding and seeing the differences in each culture.

Of course, unexpected results can happen in the drama world and ratings cannot reflect the quality of a drama fairly, but the general feedbacks somehow bug me because I think this drama does deserve more appreciation. Looking at how much work the actors and actresses have poured into delivering this drama, I feel like I should also express how much I love this drama. First of all, Nodame in the original manga is a very odd girl. She brings a lot of laughters and joy to readers and breaks the typical female character. Because she is so strange, so unique, it becomes quite a challenge for her to be portrayed as human. I mean, we hardly encounter any odd humans like Nodame in real life and therefore, Naeil comes off as "annoying" to some people. This is just my opinion but she is even more annoying in the Japanese drama; I barely get through more than 10 minutes. However, the writers of this script alter Nodame's character a little so she appears more believable and I find Naeil acceptable. She has depth in her character; she has stories that people can resonate with and learn from; her transformation to become more mature is not thrown harshly through the screen. Of course, sometimes, she acts like she is not Nodame anymore. She is too girly recently, I may say. But the chemistry between her and Yoo Jin makes up for this and enhances my love for the drama. Now, I really can't find anyone more suitable to be Naeil than Shim Eun Kyung, and I also don't understand how Shim Eun Kyung can do any better than she does already. She is following the script and she makes me cry and laugh! She does not make me feel awkward even when her character creates many socially awkward situations. Next is Joo Won. I am really not swooning over him because he is handsome. I am swooning over his talent to portray so many different kinds of character. Yoo Jin is a character I can resonate with, because I also find myself unable to express how I think in a lot of situations. I love how this drama adds depth by expressing so many true things: if you show your heart, it will be returned with another heart. Or embrace the love from other people; don’t isolate yourself…What can be a better drama to educate and entertain teenagers? I really dislike Stresseman though. He is so stiff. Oh, last but not least, I love how this Korean drama is not portraying a female character as weak and poor and needs a guy to have a happy life. In here, Naeil influences Yoo Jin to be more respectable towards her. He stops pushing her around and saying mean words to her. He still takes her hand and snatches her away without asking her for permission, but he definitely lets her become more free-willed. I was just so thrilled to watch such a modern perspective that Asian dramas often fail to include in the dramas.

Yoo Jin, his conducting is a bit unnatural for me. In nodame version, besides comical jokes, it's still evolving with classical music with chiaki and nodame's feelings.

andy Nov 24 2014 12:06 am This drama didn't lame. It's just not comical enough like the Japanese version. Naeil cantabile is building its story slowly. So it has depth. But i do feel that Shim Eun Kyung doesn't seems owning her character in the early episodes. Her acting seems unnatural. However, in ep. 9, she's getting better. I'm still enjoying this drama whatsoever.

I watched the first episode and I couldn't bring myself to finish it, it's just trying too hard to copy the J version but it can't live up to the expectation. K Dramas are always developing the plots so just it reaches 16 eps.

Speaking about the female lead, I know that Nodame's character is supposed to be annoying, but she is really annoying here. Not in a cute way, in an overreacting way and it looks so unnatural.

Joo won's conducting skill is really amazing that I feel like conducting too. Im glad I watched this drama because it makes me fall in love more with classical music such as love of dream, nocturne and sicilienne. I give 5 stars over 5 starsfor this drama. Naeil cantabile jjang !

It is getting better and interesting on eps 9-12 (yes it took a lot of time & amount of episodes). Since the storyline started to focus on Nae il & Yoo Jin Rising star orchestra instead of some unnecessary things.

I watched until eps 3 and couldn't stand for the boring conversation and BGM, but first of all, I dislike the relationships between teachers! I wonder who has the main role in the drama, be it Naeil & Yoo Jin's relationships or Stresemann-Mi Na-Gang Jae. I firstly watched it with so much hope for better or at least the same comedy from J-dorama, but it turned out boring. If we talk about Nodame series, there are two words : comedy & music! I rarely finds K-drama have comedy point though.

lady A Nov 19 2014 12:05 am This is actually good enough, considering i am a hardcore fan for the manga, j-version drama and the anime. the k-version is quite good. in fact i think, the k-version follow the manga closely than the j-version drama. it is true that the j-version left a bigger impression on audience because they do not have any trouble following the comical and slapstick comedy in manga, if the k-version decide to the comedy, i bet not just eun-kyung will be bashed, even jon won would also be bashed. but the reality is everybody just try to follow the script. and i think it's good that eun kyung try to portray her own version of nodame, if she try too hard to copy the ueno juri, it won't be nodame cantabile k-version instead a copied nodame cantabile with korean dubbing. so i support both main actress and actor. however, i pity the other actor and actress in this k-version because their character are not highlighted enough and easy to forget and not like how the j-version drama had done where every character had a fair share of fame and hard to ignore.

Remember the scene where Nae-Il ran to Yoo Jin crying because she doesn't want to be under Prof Gang Jae ; when she was sobbing realy hard because she felt that Yoo Jin is just the same as the professor; that scene was believable. She's an amazing actress and I fell in love wit her in this drama. So give her some love :)

So i do not see any lacks from shim Eun Kyung in this drama. She did a very good acting so far. I am pleasure to give a good n fair comment no matter who the actress.. whether i am her/his fan or not. I am gonna judge fairly according to the acting. I give 5 stars to Shim Eun Kyung for her acting. If you noticed, the character of Naeil a little bit similar to Shim Eun Kyung in reality. I mean from the side of comedian. For me, the director make a good choice for all the actors and actress to involve in this such a good drama. :) Quality become first and also the talent.

Yes, in the first few epidoses, she is so annoying, but we can not do anything about it, because it's the role she is portraying. But in the last few episodes, i saw the maturity in her, it's a progress, she nailed it in episodes 9, 10, the scene where she is crying talking to the lead actor, i realized she's a real actress, there's depth already. Give this K Drama a chance. Now, i can not wait to watch the last few episodes. Good luck to all and the whole cast! To the viewers, just do not mind the ratings!

All I know is they have their captivating moment in their own way. Still i prefer the j ver bcoz of its music n comedies. Hope for the next kver episodes they will add the music part and adjust the comedies.

But it could be Ueno Juri superb and natural acting that makes the Korean female lead seems "trying too hard". The k version male lead seems a little "out of place" (i feel comedy isn't too suitable for him but he does well when he need not be funny) ... Chemistry seems a little lacking between the 2 (in k ver) compare to J version ... But it's just me.

Both version have their own kind of humor and lameness ... I just prefer the Japanese humor a little more. But very nice scenes and choice of locations for the K version, definitely beautiful.

ace Nov 11 2014 6:27 pm I know everyone's tastes are different. And not everyone likes or dislikes the same things. (And that is a good thing) So I'm certainly am not surprised at all the people gushing uncontrollably about how this series is so great. Because you will get people praising Korean dramas no matter how atrocious they actually are. As long as they follow the same tired tropes. So as long as the actors are pretty, argue all the time, act incredibly stupid and insanely insensitive, people will love it. They eat those particular stupid tropes up. I get it.

 But what I do not get is why people can say one version is "better" than the other with a straight face without giving a single reason why.  They might like one better. Or like one less. But saying one is better just because you personally like it more is the height of hubris. 
Personally, I thought the Japanese version was overrated. But I think this version is equally overrated.  I 'marginally' preferred the Japanese version, I think.  Only because this version seems even more unrealistic and devoid of any of the needed humor that the Japanese versions had.  But I'm not saying one is better, just which I preferred.  I even say why I prefer it.  
So, if you are going to say something is better or worse, say why at least.  Otherwise your opinion really has no weight.  It is just either empty gushing or bashing.

Also just because you've seen the japanese one doesnt make this one any worse. I enjoy this drama and i hope you guys 2. The storyline is great of course and the casting is meh except joo won oppa lol but yeah..please watch and think about what the drama is about instead of comparing!

I Nov 10 2014 1:45 pm I like the drama so far! but, i can kind of see why the ratings have dropped. Majority of the people who dislike this version obviously are being biased with the japanese version. i haven't seen the japanese ver yet so i can't compare much between the two. The acting of the cast is great except Seol Naell's character is getting kind of annoying. her acting hasn't wowed me yet. I love the musical theme of this drama tho! Love the story and the plot. Waiting for Cha yoo jin to confirm his feelings for Naell <3 Lee Yoon hoo is also pretty good. His character is very charming and cute ! ^.^ but we all know he's not getting the girl :( Overall, this drama is great to watch on a beautiful day at home eating up all the junk food. I definitely recommend you watch!

Joo Won is not the typical so handsome-guy until you see him in acting,in split second his eyes can change the atmosphere. Lee Yoon Hoo is soo good too when he is conducting. Franz Stresemann by Baek Yoon-Sik too. Fighting for all the casts. Now, I hope it deserves its merit in the rating.

Why watch and stretch is this far if you are only going to continue on complaining? In Dramabeans, there are those who kept on complaining on Episode 5 and 6. Why the heck are they still watching if they are only going to complain? Seriously? Why are they torturing themselves? What's the use? I prefer people who continue to watch this for fun. I will continue to watch this because this drama made me laugh and enjoy.

netti Oct 29 2014 2:37 am i think i;ll drop this one. i didn;t expect korean Nodame be as good as japanese, but they completely messed it up! It is shallow and boring. Good acting you may see only in older generation: Lee Byung-Joon (great skills!) , Ahn Kil-Kang, Ye Ji-Won ... they do play their roles not just fill the space at the film plan like manequinns. It's already episode 5 and i couldn't get attatched to ANY main character! And what i completely cannot forgive - they killed what many of fans loved in jdorama the most - the music! Soundtrack is awful. It's a strange mix of pieces known from Nodame Cantabile and new ones. I may be not a connoisseur, but for my untrained ears the pieces ain't played well - they don't "reach to the heart" like original does. Flat and dull, sometimes don't even make a good background for the action (if you can call Joo Won's long staring at the wall or Shim Eun-Kyung's annoying meaowing an "action"). Technical side: not good enough: bad scenery, bad clothes, bad dialogues, bad camera work, bad surrounding sound. Yeah, that summs it up: bad.

Kim Soo Hyun also plays the same role all over again. Just look at all his dramas. Lee min Ho is definitely a much better actor than Kim Soo Hyun.

I hate when someone compare my fav actor with theirs because no matter how hard they try to convince me, I'll still choose LMH because i feel more relate to him. It hurts me when watching NC then compare JW acting with LMH all the time. so I gave up watching NC. why dont we enjoy all drama without hurting another actor fans with making unneccesary comparison? prob I'm too early to judge JW in this drama, infact I agree that JW one of the best actor in his age at the moment. Thats why the americans will be doing their own remake of that drama ( the same goes to my love from anoter star, and reply 1997). i tried to watch, the city hunter, at about its 6th epi, i just cant get hooked with it. LMH are almost the same. "rich guy, falls in love with poor girl, trying to save her/and protect her with his money"

Naeil's Cantabile is definitely my favorite (on-going) show this month. Not only because of ‪JooWon‬ oppa, but I find it really entertaining, and rrr... cute

I'm (very) satisfied on how JW plays Yoo Jin (chiaki) character. He even made the Chiaki character more cute. The smirk (episode 2), reminded me of Chiaki's expression. It's different, but the essence of the character was there. On Shim eun kyung. So she can't beat Ueno Juri in portraying Nodame, but she ain't bad either. She creates her own version of Nodame but I find it good.

A lot of people negatively reacted to some changes in the new korean version. But Im good with it --No, actually, Im glad that they made such changes and made it more korean-ish. Its something to look forward to. And i like the humors too, esp the 'baker kim tak goo' scene ;))

They can be in different genres (comedy, action, drama u name it) and still give u impressive performances and lacking vanity. However LMH..tsk. LMh will always make ur heart flutter but KSH and Joo Won warms ur heart and comforts ur soul with their dramas they're in. FYI, though theres nothing wrong with playing 'stupid characters', i cant recall Joo won played such role. If youre talking about the good doctor. His character isnt stupid, he has a savant syndrome. They are far from idiots and are extremely intelligent. Be sensitive. However,i think it KSH who acted like he's an idiot in his movie secretly, greatly.

There are some wacky parts, however overall the cast superb. I watch the Korean remake and looks similar and yet no pulling factor. Alas, I hope that Korean can make their own original dramas than keep adapting from other sources.

I decided to watch this because I love Shim Eun Kyung, she is definitely one of Koreas best new actresses. I just finished the first episode and thought the whole cast was great. I just want to say I am so glad they didn't cast Yoona, there is no way she could have pulled that character off. She isn't a very good actress to begin with, they must have just been looking for a big name. I think Joo Won is supposed to play his character stiff and that is why he was cast here because that is his forte. I plan to keep watching this talented cast.

They only looked to TnMs and AGB Nielsen, but they didn't add it with the online viewer from TVing. Because, these days korean netizens usually watch Dramas from TVing. They should have unify the ratings from both Online ratings and TV ratings. TVing Ratings : Tomorrow Cantabile (26,1%), Secret Door (12,8%), and Night's Watchman (10,9%). If we combine the two ratings, we will got this : Tomorrow Cantabile (31,9%), Secret Door (18,8%), and Night's Watchman (22,4%). That means, Tomorrow Cantabile got the first Place!!!! Yeay!!!

Im glad they cast eunkyung she can bring nae il's character well. U bashers should think that if the casts are different persons, they might face the similar difficulties of being nae il. But As much as I love Nodame Cantabile, i found that tamaki hiroshi is a little bit 'overacting'. Remember when he went out with Saiko to a bar and he was thinking about his trauma? His face went a little bit 'unnatural'. Also, remember that in the Live Action, we found this 'mukyaa' and 'gyaboo' things? Althought its a signature of nodame in the manga,i still found it annoying since we will never found this scene in our 'real life'. That is the example of the 'Unrealistic' things from the japanese NC Live Action. So, did I say Naeil Cantabile is perfect? No, because the only perfect thing is GOD. Naeil Cantabile have their own lacking. I found that naeil's big apartement is not match for Naeil since Nodame came from 'almost-poor family'. Come on! Why must we bash one another? It's better if you share opinion but don't judge them harshly. It's hard to make a drama, meanwhile the production team must face a bunch of group full of 'nodame lovers'. I think ueno Juri and Tamaki Hiroshi respect Shim Eun Kyung and Joo Won . Ueno Juri even met with SEK to talk about Nodame Character! You guys should have done the same thing as them. So, RESPECT THIS VERSION since they already try their best. -

I love nodame cantabile both anime & japanese version and I am fans of jdorama and watch a lot of it, but I think this version is not bad, this is good, and not replication, has taste in its own way, in Korean version. Joowon's acting is great in my opinion, he has inserted a hint of manga-ism facial expression into his acting, his passion eyes, his inner self to slightly cares for Naeil and the smirk in the episode 2 LOL, he has his own version but at the same time I can see Chiaki anime character making the same expression. And Shim Eun Kyung is adorable, not very quirky and dirty enough as Nodame, but I think is just a matter of cleanlines, but the the acting is superb. I hope they will develop it more. And aww.. the chemistry between the two lead is awesome Shim Eun Kyung and JooWon is perfect for this drama. Looking forward for monday. fighting!

Even BOF didn't get so much 'basher' like this one, because the japanese one was not the Best. Since the jdorama of NC was (as you guys said) really perfect, you basher act like the korean version will make such a horrible and boring drama. Why are you guys bashing them a lot? If you don't like it, just don't watch it. If you don't like their act, think again! Can you guys do it? It's really heard to be Nodame and Chiaki. They must have many music talents and they must try hard to potray the unique characters. Both the lead male and female were actually NOT a musician and they had so little tine to practice. Its a normal thing if they are not PERFECT.

JJ Oct 15 2014 4:00 am one that is less than the Korean version is rather slow plot, and acting them in playing a musical instrument is still lacking. joowoon and Eun Kyung plays the piano while her sometimes incompatible with the music, and for the Korean version of 'mine' it was obvious that he did not play the violin (u could see eita acting when playing violin). I think they need more practice in playing a musical instrument, although the Japanese version players can not play an instrument but the audience could believe that they play a musical instrument itself ^^

Naeil's cantaibel is good for now, I can laugh when I saw the first episode. JO WOON acting is awesome he made chiaki image more cute but not trying to have same act like the J'drama. Eunkyung portraying nodame is more her own acting, Yes she can't beat Ueno Juri. Naeil is more dumb not so cute like nodame. I hope eunkyung trying more act the dumb, cute, shy, brazen and sad more Nodame but her way. Actually, Eunkyung played not so bad! I love the Japanese and Korean drama. jane Sep 23 2014 10:42 pm I love Nodame's Cantabile so much esp the original live action is perfect..I wonder how Korean drama will keep living it up..there are dramas remake from Japanese that cannot be as good as the original ones...for example, I watched Hana Kimi (Japanese version) and "To The Beautiful You" is just a plain drama..as much as I love Minho but Hana kimi is much more better..but there are Korean dramas, remake from Japanese dramas, that are better than the original (for me) like "Boys Over Flowers", "The Queen's Classroom", etc. But still Nodame's Cantabile is really famous & the live action, manga & anime are great..the live action esp because Nodame's Cantabile's characters are all unique & to be able to perform the characters well, the actors are really good...Koreans are really brave wanting to make remake of it..they better not screw up the script because I believe Joowon is good & Eun Kyung hopefully able to portray the character well..I hope they won't lose the slapstick as original & those "gyaboo" & "mukyaa" too.... #anticipating

Hopefully they also made a good script and good cast for the rest of the characters. Because it's not only Nodame that is hard to portray, there's also Milch....Masumi, Ryutaro, all those unique characters that acted really well in Japanese version.

But to tell the truth, I though Joo Won is most perfect choice for playing Chiaki Shinichi's character as soon as I watched the J. version. Now I am eager now to see who is going to be the Korean Nodame.

I personally wanted Shim Eun Kyung to be nodame, but she has declined. What about T-Ara Eunjung? I can see her as nodame and she is a good actress. If you're saying that she is an idol so what is the difference with Yoona, mind you that she actually trained and debuted as an actress first. I guess she has been silenced for so long that no one brought her up lol. Even I just remembered about her after reading the news about Yoona's withdrawal.

Why I think Go ara, she got awesome facial dumb expression but lovely. She has a better experience to adapt the character. I saw her character in Who are you then You're all surrounded it was different and difficult but she did it.

Why Yoon eun hye, she always act more dumb and her role always one side love in the first place. Nodame has it too. From Goong, coffe prince, lie to me, her facial expression has many to shown.

I pray for the production team can do well, I will watch this movie!

I am also an avid fan of Yoona and I can truly say she's a great actress but I don't think she fits the role of Nodame. Just thinking about her, wearing the same hairstyle as Nodame doesn't seem to be a good picture for me. Will she sacrifice her hair? Or will she wear a wig? The latter looks awkward... and Nodame is bubbly and very unpredictable, always doing what she wants for the sake of her love. But anyway, I hope she can portray our heroine as best as she could because a lot of people loves Nodame Cantabile (and I love Chiaki!). Fighting!!!

However, I don't think Yoona is suitable as Nodame. The acting has to be outstanding, because otherwise, it will only look silly (and awkward). Ueno's Nodame is so well acted, and it's well convinced us that Nodame is a very talented musician, her way of thinking is soooo different with any other people but still likeable. This is not just about how the actress can play piano or not. because to be Nodame, it doesn't need someone who's very pretty or sweet. I'm not very sure about Joo Won as well, but watched him in Good Doctor, he can acted very well. I hope he put all his effort for this role too.

Despite his mostly role as a policeman (or detective, or whatever it is), for me it doesn't matter that he plays as the Korean version of Chiaki. As long as he can present the awkward-funny side (along with the high pride, of course) of Chiaki, we all can say he did it. But for Yoona, I know why so many people reject her. I was also surprised for knowing that she's gonna play as a cute weirdo like Nodame since she's just too "sweet" to act like her. FYI, when I heard that the remake of Nodame Cantabile is gonna be the Korean version, the first lead female that came to my mind was Goo Hye-sun. It's not because of her almost-look-like appearance with Nodame, but it's because of her piano skill and the way she act for being cheerful yet quirky (can you see it in BBF?). But, then, I think if she appears as the lead female, there might be some people arguing about her role as Nodame and Geum Jan-di (there's always any possibility for people to compare it, you know).

... Above all, let's just hoping the best for this drama.

I mean, kdramas has its own charms and everything but I doubt they can pull off making a comical drama that can come across as funny and sweet (not awkward) like classic jdramas. Especially with the cast that's not really convincing. Don't get me wrong, I like yoona and she's not a bad actresse but she's too "girl next door" type to be able to play the unique nodame character. Just my thought as a fan of Nodame Cantabile though, maybe the drama will actually be a good remake. Who knows? Hopefully they just don't make it worse than the original one..

Remember when Sung Yuri was originally cast as Queen Seondeok and people were pissed and there was a huge uproar about it? It got so bad that they replaced her for Lee Yo Won. Can't the same be done on this situation? There's a huge negative reaction to Yoona's casting so I hope she gets replaced. If not, just BOYCOTT the show and let it sink in the ratings along with her other dramas and she could go back to lip syncing, dancing, and entertaining perverted old men.

No, i don't hate Yoona. i watched all the Nodame Cantabile series (from the manga-anime-dorama-and the movie). I believe that Joo Won will play well because he's such a great actor, but somehow i don't feel like Yoona fits well with the Nodame character.....well this is just an opinion, i hope they will do great! xoxo

It's funny because I thought of IU too, like you, because of her role in Pretty Man. She's not as good as SEK but she's definitely more suited for the role than Yoona, whether for her acting skills or physical appearance. Speaking of Yoona, the vivid controversy about her being casted as Nodame tells it all. She is just about visuals and not about substance. And when I said visuals I think of music videos and stage performances, with heavy make up and fashion clothes. When you see her in dramas trying to embody a character you realize that she looks insignificant on screen, she lacks screen presence. You can see at first sight that a singer like IU or an idol like Suzy have more potential than her as actresses. I saw her drama Love Rain and i thought she was beautiful actress. The directors had a reason to put her in this drama. Not just because of her beauty. kurage Jul 07 2014 12:38 pm I've read some of the comments here and couldn't help but laugh when they suggested so and so to be nodame just because she knows how to play piano. Piano skill is not the main concern here, but the acting skills and whether she really fits nodame character or not! You can always pretend to be good at playing piano you know since it is ACTING. One more thing, nodame cannot be too pretty or elegant since she's supposed to be cute and and having her own charm. And remember, nodame needs various, I mean really various, facial expressions from happy to sulking to being quirky and won't bother about looking pretty when crying.

So, the candidates that you all mentioned:

Yoona - I was like "are you f(&%*( kidding me" when I heard the news about her casting. She is too pretty and always trying to look pretty (well, can't help it since she is pretty anyway) so OUT please. You can argue that she can act or not but I don't care since she doesn't have nodame's character in her.

Yuri - I'm surprised people actually suggested her because she's even way more out than Yoona. I saw Fashion King before, but can't really see her expression changing.

My suggestion, don't pick any of the SNSD members. I know some may be able to act but they just won't fit nodame's character period.

Some of the heir/the inheritance maniac even suggested some of the females in it just because they love the show.

Kim Ji Won - She's one of the reason I actually stopped watching Heirs besides the story being too boring in the first few episodes that I gave up. So freaking expressionless!

Im Joo Eun - She acted a bit quirky in Wild Romance, but I'm not too sure if she can act like nodame.

Please don't just suggest the females from the dramas that you've loved! Go freaking read/watch the manga/anime first and get the feel of nodame's character and personality before you suggest.

I personally like shim eun kyung to be nodame, but unfortunately she's declined the offer. The next in line that I could think of right now is IU especially after watching her in pretty man as botong. However, I still think she's not the perfect match.

Why don't the production crew open up an audition with the author, Ninomiya Tomoko, being the judge? At least they should test on some of nodame's facial expressions to see if that person can really make quirky expression without thinking about looking pretty.

I write this lengthy opinion because I love the original manga/anime/drama so much that I've watched/read them so many times. If they just blatantly cast someone just because of fanbase (hoping to get high ratings), I feel that they won't do the original manga and mangaka any justice.

khatz Jul 07 2014 11:20 am I'm sorry I don't hate Yoona but I have watched enough dramas of hers to say that she's not cut for a role as complex as Noda Megumi. They should just give the role to a real actress. Maybe even someone nameless but could do the character justice. Nodame Cantabile is a well loved manga/anime and the live action adaptation in Japan did so well that it literally felt like the manga came to life. That in itself is a difficult task to fill and now casting Yoona in the K version is like inviting failure even before it starts airing. Yoona had been paired w/ big name actors but those actors couldn't even pull the ratings up. They should just hold proper auditions for the role instead of just using a popular actress that we all know still has a long way from becoming a proper actress.

whatever they did to make ninomiya tomoko-san approve of yoona as nodame? it should be fine if she can act but as far as i've seen from her dramas (which i couldnt stand watching btw, gave the benefit of the doubt but gave up halfway through) she can't! she should prepare herself to be compared to Ueno Juri who had Nodame Megumi's character spot on!

He's really impressive in Good Doctor and Ojakgyo Brothers. He also potrays a bad guy so well in Baker King Kim Tak Gu. So I think he will do well this time too.

For the lead female, I think it should be someone that good at acting and good as pianist too. I don't want any awkward scene. I agree with anonymous, Kim So Eun or Yoona, will be a good choice. They both good at acting and music. But I really hope Kwon Yuri will be the lead. I just hope one of them will be the lead

rei May 05 2014 12:53 pm oh boy, Korea just doesn't stop. After terrible adaptations of Japanese live-action dramas, they're now planning to ruin the best live-action series of all time. I have seen all the Nodame Cantabile works; the manga, anime, the dorama, the movies... and I know for a fact, this version won't even be a bit as great as the original. Korean tv has never been able to give a remake justice.

jury May 04 2014 6:46 pm @liina actually in nodame vers Japan, tamaki Hiroshi & ueno jury have age gap 6 years so it' s not problem if they cast joowon and SEK. Beside that, joowon has paired up with jin seyeon in bridal mask with age gap 7 years and they can pull off good chemistry. BTW shim eunkyung is good choice for nodame, beside she's good in comedy role, SEK and ueno jury have many resemblances.
