Takeo Goda (Ryohei Suzuki) is a high school student 2 m tall and weighting more than 100 kg. He has a righteous character. The male students adore him, but female students do not like him. All of the girls Takeo likes prefer his handsome friend Makoto Sunakawa (Kentaro Sakaguchi).

One day, Takeo saves female high school student Rinko Yamato (Mei Nagano) from a pervert on train. Takeo falls in love with her at first sight. He feels Rinko likes Makoto, but Makoto isn't the one she likes. Takeo struggles to liaise between Rinko and Makoto.

filmbeats Aug 10 2017 9:26 pm Surprisingly enjoyable romcom even though it revolves around misunderstandings. Plus who doesn't like an underdog? Never read the manga or seen the anime. This live action adaption made me laugh and got me feeling the same emotions as the characters. What otherwise seems like a generic love story is elevated by the great acting from both Suzuki and Nagano. Their interactions are endearing.

Yuri Jul 21 2016 6:53 am I liked this movie. Not your typical fall-in-love-with-a-handsome-guy kind of romcom. And despite the age gap in real life, the leads really did a good job.

Oh and minus the exaggerated eyebrows and sideburns, Ryohei is super hot. Look him up.

I also like how he said in an interview that he wants to change the stereotypes of Asian males through acting on the international stage. I hope he gets his wish! Go Ryohei!!
