Set in the year 1985, an arson-murder case takes place at an apartment in Tokyo. The victim is novelist Kohei Kimizuka. Ritusko Ikematsu (Marika Matsumoto) is soon arrested for his death. Ritusko Ikematsu and Kohei Kimizuka were childhood friends.

Prosecutor Tsutaguchi takes charge of the murder case. He begins to contact people who knew Ritusko Ikematsu. Prosecutor Tsutaguchi learns of her unfortunate life and the men surrounding her. The men's impressions of Ritusko Ikematsu are all different. Prosecutor Tsutaguchi then learns of a case that took place in 1955 in Tsugaru, Aomori Prefecture, where Ritusko Ikematsu and Kohei Kimizuka grew up. He believes that case is the key to solve Kohei Kimizuka’s murder.

Grandmalee Aug 14 2021 8:58 am I can't think of another Japanese TV actress who could portray a psychologically or mentally disturbed character more effectively than Marika Matsumoto. The series is a dark, sad tale about the life-long curse of child abuse on all concerned and about friendship, betrayal, empathy, and a wide range of human emotions, and everything between haven (not heaven, which is out of reach to the main characters) and hell. The title in Chinese translation is philosophically intriguing.

doram Jul 20 2021 6:26 am Well, as expected from wowow drama... Such a deep and dark story.. I was expecting some light but it was dark all along until the end of the story xD Watching this made me feel dizzy and frustrated. Matsumoto Marika's acting was superb. This is the first time I watch her drama. She's so pretty, I can't believe she's in her 30s. She could pass as someone in her 20's though.

Rated 8/10, recommended for those who's looking for a typical dark-themed wowow drama, and certainly not recommended for those who doesn't like seeing children in distress.
