A 40-year-old woman works as a ghost writer. She hasn't achieved anything in her life and she doesn't know where to go with her life. The 27-year-old man is afraid that he might end up as a nobody.

So think snot the scene at the when the male and female leads are looking at the stars and the final scene. What are they doing? They're looking at each other You can hear their brrathing and iof course, the soundtrack. Sad? Happy? I know what I'm thinking!

Jillibean Dec 03 2023 11:43 am My second time watching this masterpiece this year. It's so addictive, I keep coming back to it like my favorite chocolate ice cream or New York cheesecake! The story is unlike any other Korean drama you will ever see, that novelty is enough reason to seek it out (currently playing on prime). The acting is sensual and believable, and I happened to LOVE the soundtrack! Lost is special and really a nice break from all the more superficial silly romances they spit out routinely in the Korean entertainment industry.

The male lead did not happen to meet the female lead 20 years ago when they were both kidnapped/trapped in a cave/riding on the same boat in Switzerland. All interactions were natural, normal, and organic. In other words, Not like a kdrama. Thank goodness there was no annoying repetitive soundtrack a la My Mister (great drama, just truly annoying song)

Came and stayed for Ryu Jun Yeol. After falling hard for him in Reply 1988 I really wanted to see him "get the girl". I fell hard again. The circumstances were taboo but forbidden romances are that much more thrilling especially when the other spouse "cheated" first.

Spoilers now***** I wish the MLs had gotten *together* more but that's just me being greedy. The tent scene was one the most intense scenes I've ever seen in a K Drama and there was no kissing!

What I didn't expect was the joy I'd get from seeing the side characters and their non adulterous relationships work out.

Park Min Aug 20 2023 10:41 am To sell the slow burn story atmosphere, a drama needs to be accompanied with a memorable and fitting soundtrack. There was a desperate need for an actual original soundtrack in this one instead of filling it with random and generic sorrowful OST which ruined almost any big moment. Despite having an abundance of free time, the drama failed to give the side characters a "character", they never felt that they mattered. The drama behaved like a movie but failed to fit it in a drama (long) format. More often than not, it stuck out a bit too much and ended up being annoying.

Hainetane Jul 27 2023 2:46 pm This is underrated drama, I get to know this drama through twitter post said it wasa gold drama. Then, I downloaded the app and subscribe just to watch this. At first, I was kinda impatient because the path was slow, but now I enjoyed it so much one by one ep... Like, I literally live in their world... Understanding each of the characters. Lee Bu Jeong, her anger and sadness come to revelation one by one. Her cheating husband that not too bad (Jung soo has many good sides of him) at first maybe I'd hate him, but the more I watched the drama the more I understand the characters as I said before, like they have their own reason for it. The mother in-laws, even if she looks annoying at first, but actually she's sooo sweet. I mean, she's not what mother in-laws in drama or real life typically... She has many good sides on her. I love Min Ja... Don't ask me about Bujeong's father! He's like my own late father to me. He's so sweet and caring yet so miserable. I cried whenever he's on screen. Ryu Jun Yeol, I mean Lee Gang Jae, sweet boy, he finds love in the wrong way from the start, but I hope he can end up with Bujeong or at least he can stop his bad sides of his job just take the good ones only, please. I love the open ending yet still curious and want the clear ending. But, at least, I can see BuJeong real smile in the end... What a worth it drama to watch

I wonder, why this fenomenal K-Drama was not promoted in Euorope? It’ll definitely “fill the glove”, since the emotions and meanings in this drama are so universal. PS it also includes one of the best sex scenes without sex Ever ( the tent scene). I’ve never in my long life seen anything as intense whithout any “real sex” scenes

Kristine May 20 2023 8:35 pm Took twice to watch it to really catch everything. It’s the subtitles and keeping track of the screen it’s easier to miss. So much of the acting is in the face expression. I hate the couple and find it hard even after hearing about Heather Cho and nutgate that people can get away with abusing a person and several people so much. A hospital lets an abuser in and his wife to keep her practically hostage? Seems far fetched. Otherwise good performances.

The man in the couple that killed her baby was cheating and fathering kids and beating people up. The pharmacists boyfriend was married yet living with her cheating on his own wife. But all you noticed was her cheating?

Kristine May 08 2023 10:48 am On second episode. I saw the father watching tv and the woman on tv played his daughter in a drama I watched earlier last year. Small world. I have seen many things from multiple actors. Seems slow. I can’t get over her MIL. I think it’s going to be good though. The one resident was publicly going crazy with words as was one shopper. Interesting how that is okay but online it’s not. Not saying it is okay online. Just less threatening than in person. I suppose it depends what is said and why. Those details lacking. I wish Korea wasn’t always depicted as greedy, money hungry, overstepping boundaries.

Priscilla Apr 23 2023 7:38 am Sooooooooooooooooo gooooooooooooooooo?. This is such an underrated series. It deserved multiple awards. It was not a farcical or an historical drama. It was a documentary about the realities of life with no sugarcoating, no Kpop stars as the main or desired leads. It told the facts about life from every perspective, every hope, dream and flaw. Each actor carried his/her own load but jointly provided a series of characters that flowed seamlessly. Their life experiences are our life experiences, and as such you were anxious for each episodes to see how they managed those experiences as well as any human can. I truly felt the love the main leads had for one another and, if it were me, I definitely would have allowed myself to receive his love, and love him in return as he truly desired to be. Perfect.

It’s so beautiful! The thoughts that are narrated by the actors are so deep, they make one think hard about one’s life, what have I accomplished? What is the meaning of life? I loved it so much that I bought the series so I can watch it over and over. Thank you writer, director and wonderful actors for thus wonderful story!

… Mar 11 2023 11:29 pm I don’t think the live broadcast ratings can really reflect on the quality of the drama because it was more slow paced and a sad watch so I think it would be hard to watch live. The acting was on point and the story was pretty well written, but I think there could’ve been some scenes they showed for more clarification of the past.

Jilli Feb 17 2023 6:31 pm Regarding the ratings on Lost, remember this was a jtbc cable channel drama, and they are much smaller audience size because they aren't free-to-watch stations like SBS, KBS, and MBC. People have to pay for cable in order to access the channel. So almost all their shows will be less than 5% ratings. It isn't a reflection on the quality of the drama at all, which was exceptionally poetic, intense, dark with touches of humor here and there; it wasn't a flower boy idol show that gets all the teenagers watching. Lost is more for people who are more mature in their outlook on life.

Lost was So different that a lot of people who watch Korean dramas regularly and are used to seeing more flamboyant, in-your-face style scenes, were probably confused by this one, with lots of quiet narration, and they checked out early. Their profound loss. I loved it and watched the whole thing in only two days.

Steve Dec 29 2022 6:27 pm Good writing and strong acting helped pull me into this drama. The story focuses on a married woman struggling through emotional trauma and a younger man working as a gigolo who is still processing the death of his father. Suffering is a common theme in k-dramas – as it is for most of us in real life – but what we see in Lost feels more measured and nuanced. This reflects the shows writing and specifically the dialog we get between the main characters, most notably the woman and her father, and her husband and his mother. Who cannot relate to the joys and frustrations of spending time with one’s aging parents.

In addition to a good script, the acting in Lost is consistently good. You get especially good performances from Jeon Do-Yeon, Park In-Hwan, and Shin Shin-Ae. I suspect that at this point in her career Jeon Do-Yeon selects her roles carefully. If she is not the best Korean actress working today, she is certainly near the top of the list.

Ciepao Jun 12 2022 10:39 am The drama title really fit its story. A woman who 'keeps' finding herself —her will to live, after all the things that happened to her. And a man who is also 'trying' to find the meaning of life. In short, they are both "lost".

Everything in this drama is wonderful. I love how they show all of the struggles of every character, from their marriage, to their family, to their job, relationships with other people, and many more. The feelings I have for this drama while watching it is overwhelming.

This drama for me is 9/10. Sad that this doesn't gain any recognition from other people. But watching it was worth it. If you want a light drama, then this is not for you.

The gesture, face expression really gets me.. Ryu Jun Yeol & Jeon Do Yeon were the perfect casts for Kang Jae and Bu Jung. They're totally world class actors. Also kudos to everyone involved in this drama! Thank you writer Kim Ji Hye and PD Hur Jin Ho for making such brilliant drama ever. Cant wait your next project?

The way they portrait father and daughter relationship, its literally make me cry. And messages in this drama was so helpful for me.. To realize that what I am thinking about, Thats what my life was going. Everyone have a hope of happiness in thier life, but at some point when all things are going wrong and you have no idea from when it was start things getting wrong, and you feel helpless, breakdown, and fully lost . You want to lean to your most lovable person but same time you didn't want them about you. You start hiding your emotion in front of them by making faking yourself. And start living like a hell everyday, have no idea how to make this end... This was something that no one is talking about. I am grateful to you and want to praise to all "Lost's project team" You all did a great work. Thankyou for this masterpiece and soulful OST's. I am not enjoyed this drama but I feel the messages and life lesson and relate with main character feeling.

i thought it was quite hard to relate to Bu Jung's sadness in ep 1 but it was so funny how the two leads met and got to know each other. paired with the inner thoughts who are sadly melancholic, i thought the story totally shone from ep 2. it felt like a beautiful poem. i didn't expect the two to fall in love, i thought it would just be somewhat like my mister - of mutual support and understanding. but i understood why the leads fell in love with each other. despite the emotional affair, i think it affirmed my original view that marriage is sacred. it is wrong, but wrong things happen in life every day, nothing shocking that it happened in drama. i shouldn't but i rooted for the leads, because love is precious. i felt the ending was right but somewhat of a pity, cos it wasn't drama enough.

all in all, i believe i will remember and rewatch this drama again

Maybe I bonded well because I keep reflecting back on my own life while watching the drama..this is a slice of life kind of genre ..this drama is for those going through stuffs and can't voice out those who tend to bear the pain alone..my favourite line was "when did it all go wrong" it really hit me cos alot of things are happening in our every day life's also when she said that why she didn't tell pple around her is because they'll say the reason for her being like that is so little but it's d little things that changes everything. I just want to say a very big thank you to the cast and production team. Because of how you guys projected the drama I was able to see that I was lost" and began to find myself and believe that there's hope to be happy someday. Kudos to the cast!

But each episode both of them spending time together were too short. Last episode they only met at the last minute without conversation. It is like hapiness in their life is too far to reach. I hope there will be season 2

Neon blush Oct 24 2021 10:28 pm The acting of the four main casts is top-notch for me. The finale was not what I expected but I preferred the writers made it that way. Transparency and honesty is always the best approach in the grand scheme of things. The sadness of Bu Jeong, Jeong Su, Gang Jae, and Kyung Yun is so real the actors did a stellar job. Their eyes, body language, and speech are so realistic it feels like I'm watching an actual life story. I like this drama was leaning more on the serious and challenging side of reality but is able to produce fruitful lessons for the watchers. I'll definitely rewatch this series every now and then together with Signal, Misaeng, and My Mister. This drama is not meant for everyone due to its theme but please treat yourself by watching this.

D Mar Oct 24 2021 9:34 pm SPOILERS. Nice finale. Honesty is the best policy. Jeon Do was right to tell her husband what they really feel for each other. And the feeling is gone. Moving on is best for all. This kdrama focused also on how important mental health is, and talking to someone will help . I wished that the star husband who is a wife beater should be put to prison. Overall , lead actors are amazing.

ABC Oct 23 2021 7:43 pm The strange thing about this drama is that it pulls me in. I am not into depressing stories but because of the cast I gave it a chance.

I must admit at the end of a tiring day, I put this drama aside. I need something to cheer me up. But I can't help to continue watching it later. And every episode peels another layer. I really enjoy episode 13.

I am hoping the actress would be turned around too if that's not too much to hope for.

The annoying mother in law totally changed my mind about her. They show that she's the one who has made it through here. She had a really tough life that even her son doesn't know about. That's why she has empathy for LBJ's father. She admits her son is unlike his father, he lacks empathy. The reason she allowed her son to marry LBJ was because her caring towards her father. She wanted that.

The one who loves this drama must be relating themselves with all the situation that happened in this drama like me. Slice of life + melodrama will always be my fav genre. Besides, it have Japanese vibe too & JTBC made the right decision to make this kind of drama for their 10th Anniversary Project.

sora Oct 19 2021 7:30 pm Anyone who thinks this drama is bad or boring lacks basic empathy and life experience. It's a story about people who are in the same place but at different points in their lives and all lost in a multitude of ways. Some of them begin to find their way. Some of them go deeper into the forest. But what connects them all and makes this drama so compelling is the picture of humanity that it provides. Life isn't simple or easy and sometimes we don't even know why exactly we're fighting so hard just to survive it. Everyone will experience this at some point.

The only character I cannot stand is the mother in law. All others have compelling points and of course they all are flawed, but though they do hurtful and selfish things at times none of them truly set out to cause someone else harm. But the mother in law is an awful person who consistently acts with total disregard for her daughter in law and for her son as well. It's not enough that she is eventually a tiny bit decent to the father.

All other characters are very realistic I think. Infidelity happens in real life all the time and more in South Korea than in most countries, because of the nature of marriage here. That's sad but simply true. With the married couple here I think that though they can't communicate very well they do care for one another, but they are not in love and it doesn't seem that they are compatible in this way. I don't personally think cheating is the answer or will definitely lead to happiness for both of them, but they're turning away from a loveless marriage to pursue feelings that are genuine to them. Again, not a moral decision, but a realistic one and one we can understand even if we would like to think we'd act differently.

It's a very well-written story and it portraits depression in such an accurate way and how you can feel drawn to someone because they understand you/what you're going through. I could go on about how saying "cheating is bad" is such a shallow way to describe why you dislike it and how this drama is so much more than a 40-something-old woman having an affair with a younger man but I'll settle with if cheating bad why sexc lol. Jeon Doyeon and Ryu Junyeol are insanely good in this.

Just when i love a drama so much i can't find any words to describe . There was a void inside me as i watched the drama. How they portrayed things we can't really express. Its just not not about a woman in her 40s . Its about people who feel empty . That's why this drama is not for everyone . Some will feel it slow ...some will find it boring. But I could feel every emotion .

I don't know if its normal for a 19 year old to feel things they wanted to portray but i did . And i don't think i can move on from this drama for a while. The writer said things that people usually don't tell anyone. We feel many things but not everyone have someone they can share those thoughts or feelings with. The way these drama showed Gang jae talking to his father made me realise doesn't we all talk to someone or ourselves in our mind like that!? It just keeps us sane.
Sometimes we just feel sad. For a small reason or without a reason at all. When gang jae said " i was at home still i wanted to go home " i knew the exact feeling he was talking about.

Maybe i loved this drama so much because i could relate to all the things the writer wanted to say. The emptiness, the frustration of not being able to be something, the fear of not being able to do things we wished for, not being able to live a normal life like other people. I want to say so many things but i don't know how to write those things . Thanks to the write and director. This drama will get its recognition one day. Maybe there are not so many people who feel the same way the characters felt. But one thing is sure, in real life we don't find people like Gang jae to make us feel a little less empty i guess . To just lie down quietly . Who is a stranger but can feel the sadness the other feel. Its just rare .People like us just keep on living with the emptiness...................... Ryu Jun Yeol did a great job i must say. I don't know it was acting or not but his eyes looks sad . His eyes carried most of the emotion in the drama . I want to see him happy in atleast one drama. But i think he can portray sad characters really well. Everyone did a good job. I think acting sad is the hardest of all . Everyone portrayed the sadness well. I hope this drama will get what is deserve. And thanks for not including any kissing scene ( i am still in 12th epi though) . It will be awkward. ( Many people are talking about 45 year old woman having affair .I think its about how we see or want to see. She doesn't want to have a affair she just felt like he understands her . A total stranger saved her. Don't we all wish to have someone like that. Just there for each other nothing else.If they even felt anything they knew their boundaries . They tried their best to avoid . I don't know how it well end but for a 45 year old or 25 year old its just about looking at someone and feel that this persons eyes are sad too. Maybe he / she understands .)

Why try to normalize such stuff? Make her take divirce and then go for affair i am not against falling in love with someone while being married cause toxic marriages cause this but having sex while being married..just DON'T . And it shouldnt be shown as such.

Its great to address unhappy marriages though and how some spouses can make the other severely depressed due to their immature behaviors but why the need to show sleeping out of marriage?

How people handle life's miseries. Sometimes the person that may understand you best may not always be your significant other ( who already hurt you beyond repair) but a friend or someone that understands, no matter the age. Stellar performance by Jeon Do-Yeon, a great actress. Kudos to the Male lead and other cast doing a great job with their roles! To heck with the misunderstood rating!

FL Oct 12 2021 11:02 pm I merely watched the drama because of Ryu Jun Yeol. I'm glad that he chose the drama, or I will loss a masterpiece. It's not a typical kdrama. It was a slow pace drama, the progress was slow, quiet and calm storyline, characters with less conversation but more to emotional expression. I need to translate and understand the characters in every episode, thats how I see the progress. The deep thoughts of the main characters, and their emotions was enough to understand how lonely they are. It will be hard to understand the characters, and that's how I love the drama, they exist in reality but very less discuss. It's a depressed characters and of course it's hard to understand. I find it sad to understand them. Bu jeong and Kang Jae blooming with thoughts, but hard to express. And to find someone could talk the same frequency as you was relieving. I just love all the characters in the drama. I hope the drama could win awards.

Wang Oct 11 2021 1:58 pm Just when I thought the cinematography isn't sufficient enough to portray the essence of the scene, the timingly right score comes on and mends the hole. And just like that the cinematography, the screenplay, the scores, the editings and the actings compliment each other's weaknesses and enhance each other's strengths.

I have seen many Korean dramas, and of them all this may have the best screenplay. The dialogues are a beautiful piece of literature. And not that I degraded my love for the typical kdramas, but after watching Lost I feel like I am expose to a piece of John Keats' poetry after reading the lyrics of BP's "Ddu ddu du du". A rare experience to experience in the Korean small screen.

I love good films and I have watch many of different languages. Well I can say that this drama is no way near the epitome of cinematic arts. But it may be the closest amongst the herd of every mini series I've watched in my life. Though the ratings might be weak, I really hope they will do well in Baeksang Awards and receive what they deserve.

The relationship between the actors is building very very slowly but it's made progress. I love their soft way of talking, the way they share sadness and a common view on life. It's like they are slowly becoming friends but their heart flutters when they are together. If people enjoy fast paced dynamic dramas and characters they'll be bored to death watching this but I love it. I love the characters and especially Joonyeol's character and his acting. I love how much they communicate with their eyes everytime they look at each other. It's very touching to watch and very relatable. It feels real, it doesn't feel superficial and overly sweet. The cinematography is beautiful too.

Her husband acts like a low iq, non sympathizing person who talks foolishly most of the time. In general people would say theres nothing wrong with him and such partner is better than millions but in actuality being around with such person will make you unhappy and eat you up inside. Its a very nuanced thing that many people ignore that such partners can be very annoying. People are made to believe your partner is only bad if he/she abuses you,fights with you and all those usual markers that break a marriage and hence, feelings of people like bujeong are brushed aside. Im glad drama addresses it. Otherwise i fibd jung ah ran slapping and plotting parts very rubbish and makjangy.

This drama is about realistically flawed and nuanced characters with the kind of depth that makes them hard to understand at times specifically because they are so realistic - you can easily understand the motivations of a character who just wants to find love, or be recognized at their job, etc. etc. but these people are looking for meaning in their lives and that's not something that's straightforward, it's not something that looks the same in or for any two people, it's a complicated concept and the successful delivery and representation of it is clear in how nothing is actually explicitly clear, or simple, or easy.

If you hate or don't at all understand the main characters here, that's fine. Wait until you've lived your life for long enough. Wait until you've gone through some things as an adult. You'll get it then.

The people who came here because the actor is hot or because they watch k-dramas all the time and assumed this would be another one just like all the others they've watched will stay lost with this one, and that's okay. This isn't a drama to be added to anyone's pile and it's not one to be watched for who is in it, either.

The acting here is phenomenal. The writing (which translates very poorly to english) is outstanding - single lines of dialogue and their delivery have the hair standing up on the back of my neck.

This is a fantastic drama, not just a k-drama, but it's probably not what you're expecting. So watch it anyway, and if you can see its brilliance, you will love this. If not, come back and try again in a few years time.

This drama is well written and encapsulates the emotion in the title. Lost. To be lost. Jeon Do-Yeon is an amazing actor and she performs to make you feel the mood through the screen; same with Ryoo Joon-Yeol and Yoo Su-Bin. When I get through the episodes and make it to the end, I'll have an updated comment. But as of now, this drama is a 10/10!!

People are too overthinking with their life, their future that make them want to give up, I totally understand this because I feel the same way before. Big applause to jeon do yeon, she’s really nailed the character. We might feel a lil bit confused abt this drama because there is so much of scene that we didn’t understand but it’s not over yet, to make it understand we need to watch until the final ep, but can’t wait for next ep, watching the preview I guess gang Jae and bu jeong make a move, sure they fall for each other ?

riri Oct 04 2021 11:55 pm i don't see what people are trying to say by stating the drama is "boring" and "too depressing". i think this drama is the perfect, and literally the title says it all, its not a romcom so i don't understand why people come to watch this and decide that its too sad well no shit! the drama is about two lost main characters who don't know where to go on in life after major incidents left me feeling LOST. It also conveys that it's okay to feel lost sometimes and how hard to rely on people who are close to you because they just can't seem to understand why you feel the way you feel, and how sometimes strangers can understand you better.

The actors do a really well job in this drama, i came for Ryoo Joon-Yeol but i ended up liking everyone else role, even though there are annoying characters like the mother in law, the show somehow ends up showing me a side of her character that makes me sympathies with her.

Overall everyone's acting is superb, and the show gives off the right sad vibe that is needed. DON'T watch this id you're looking for a romcom or a happy drama.

My Mister was really well-written that people will understand the characters' motives and behaviors, it also has a really great dialogue. But Lost is simply not well-written enough that you can hardly empathize with the characters, you keep wondering why the characters behave the way they do. Why Are They So Depressed lmao. And as people have said, this drama needs to play the ost to make sure we understand the mood of the scene.

People should stop comparing Lost with My Mister, that just gives those who've watched My Mister high expectations. I must say this drama is way below my expectation because of that.

Any form of abuse is wrong and must be stop. One can get out of danger and still find solace. Its is not who deserves who. This drama says it all. Everybody needs help. It is okay not to be okay. I liked this show. Actors are superb in acting. Highly recommend.

If we look at title of show it means characters are so miserable they no longer feel human, something ppl experience after going through bad experiences or what they perceive as severely bad experiences. It is not his fault that he has been given an unattractive hairstyle and has a gloomy expression, it is the part he is playing. He plays it to perfection because he is a talented actor. He is handsome, engaging and unusual and also has a great singing voice. The drama was not created for fun, look at the title. It is too deep for some audiences.

If Jun Yeol was given a part as a handsome lead in a rom com, no one would be able to get enough of him. 
Don’t knock this exceptional actor, he is not your ordinary flimsy pansy Korean boy with a girly face - he is a man with courage and skill, he cares about the environment and is not a shallow person, he is a force to be reckoned with. Find someone else to blame.

Though this is not a drama for fun like Hometown Chacha, my attention caught by LOST. The actors portrayed life's sadness very well and a sense of realism is there. I know these types of shows are not everyone's cup of tea and usually have low ratings. No explosions, wild romance, or care chases. This is a gem, to be savoured and reflected upon. Loving it!

So far from 2 episode, all of the cast was really great even supporting role play their role really well. Ryu and the female lead really give so many emotion to me base on their lonelinesss,sadness and funny part. Son naeun got little screentime but she did well tbh. Subin on the first ep outnowhere was crying make me laugh but then knowing him being sad for his friend change my emotion too. So i could tell their story can relate with our life if not same with your life,you should see this stroy as someone life story.
