Set during the Edo period, "Zan" follows the life a ronin, Mokunoshin Tsuzuki (Sosuke Ikematsu), and those around him. Mokunoshin Tsuzuki spends time in a village helping farmers there. To keep his sword skills sharp, he spars daily with a farmer's son Ichisuke (Ryusei Maeda). His sister Yu (Yu Aoi) watches them. Meanwhile, the nation is about to undergo major unrest and potentially a civil war. A group of outlaw ronin led by Sezaemon Genda (Tatsuya Nakamura) enters the village.

mews Feb 27 2022 7:59 pm This movie, is simple plot, not that impressive..... .but it could have a been watchable movie it was not for the epileptic camera. Action scenes might be interesting, you kinda see .... i rephrase, you don't see anything. Even if there is good sword choreography, you don't see at all, because the camera does not stay put. At some points it really nauseating and headache inducing. Sometimes it drags too much.... and it drags. I find myself skipping so much just to "Get to the point!" 1h and 19 minutes, feels like an eternity.
