Kim Joon-Kyeom (Moon So-Ri) is a presiding judge who leads the first civil participation of a criminal trial in South Korea. 8 jurors are selected for the criminal trial including Kwon Nam-Woo (Park Hyung-Sik). The jurors are ordinary people, but, after they become jurors, they seek out the truth of the case.

Danny Boy Mar 22 2021 9:54 am The movie sets in a changing era (if I can use these words) where Korea finally started adding jurors to court rooms starting on January 7 2008. Her is when the movie diverge from aspects that could accord inside the court room for obvious reasons and to make the story of the film enticing to watch which coverts the film actually quite entertaining to fallow as this typical ordinary case turns into a story of its own.

One of the things that was really fascinating to see in this movie was the driving force of the whole film, the characters themselves, such ordinary fellows but yet complex; because from juror one trough eight you can see each have a personality to fufilled by the way they dressed, talk, their mannerisms and status in live. No character felt the same. The one for me that stole the show was Moon So-Ri (Judge), she is in charge with the case, the way this actress manage to act by maintaining a proper diligent and poised personality above all the pressure of a judge with a heavy burden to carry out a job without a flaw was captivating performance. They all did a great job and very believable performances.

Truly a must see.

Lila-Rosa Bezel Feb 02 2021 8:15 pm interesting, surprisingly good... sometimes the jurors' role are often overlooked in law film or tv shows, when actually it is an important and difficult job. it's good to see their perspective being told. it's also South Korea's history that just happen not that long ago.

Brilliant acting by the Jusge, and Juror No.8 Excellent film for students to watch: challenges the following issues: 1. jumping to conclusions 2. accountability for Police 3. revealing personal motivations for taking shortcuts (Jurors who have other agendas, personal deadlines, and the pressure they place on others to get a quick solution)

xxabixx Nov 13 2019 9:01 am i'm so surprised that actually this movie turns out so great. this movie invites us to see law in different point of view. when we usually watch law drama/movie with prosecutor/judge/lawyer as the main lead, this movie is really fresh with commoners as leads.
