During the Pacific War, Suzu (Honoka Matsumoto) lives in Eba, Hiroshima, Japan. She marries Shusaku (Tori Matsuzaka) and moves to Kure along the Seto Inland Sea in Hiroshima. People, including Suzu, suffer from lack of supplies, while their family and friends are sent out to the battlefield. With everything going on, Suzu tries to live positively.
