A group of couples in their 40's live in a new city. One of the couples are Ahn Goong-Chul (Yu Jun-Sang) and Nam Jung-Hae (Song Yoon-A). They enjoy peaceful and ordinary days, but, a murder takes place. Since then, their peaceful days changes.

"Graceful Friends" takes over the JTBC's Friday & Saturday 22:50 time slot previously occupied by "The World of the Married" and followed by "More Than Friends" on September 25, 2020.
Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, filming schedule has been delayed. The drama series will premiere July 10, 2020 instead of June, 2020.
Ep.15 was originally scheduled to air Friday, August 28, 2020, but instead aired on Saturday, August 29, 2020. A special program on the Covid-19 outbreak aired in its place on Friday, August 28, 2020.

aching soul Feb 27 2023 6:44 am I really love this drama and i am a bit sad because i just recently found this. I understand the other comments about the ending just like them i am confused too. i really admire the acting of Song Yoon Ah, people may found her kinda bad here but that is her character as Nam Jung Hae. On episode 13 when she ask Gong Chul for a divorce she tells that she is tormented her whole life, that her life is always on the shadow and it rained all the time. On episode 8 when she meet her father asking for money a memory of her past came in. That was when she came from school and found her mother dead in the bathroom. And the last episode on where Gong Chul and Nam Jung Hae talks about the green umbrella that Gong Chul gave to her, Gong Chul said that she saw Nam Jung Hae crying on the bus and that's when he promised to put a smile on Nam Jung Hae's face. Nam Jung Hae even tried to commit suicide but Jae Hoon saved her. Jung Hae is really having a hard time and the reason why she marry Gong Chul instead of Jae Hoon it is because Gong Chul is bright and cheerful just like the sun. she thought by marrying him she will be brighten too. I like the acting of Bae Soobin too, i like how he manage to love Nam Jung Hae after years and years. I love this drama so much because their acting was superb. I already watched it several times and i will always will, this drama makes me do a reflection towards my life in the past, here in the present and in the future. I somehow see myself to Nam Jung Hae although i'm just 20years old, i feel connected to her pain and i can see my future self behaving just like her. Pain causes anger as well as the hidden grief, the past was always present on its way.

rizqueena Mar 19 2021 8:43 pm I watched this drama just because of Bae Soo-bin.. he is so great in acting especially as cold-hearted, manipulative and obsessive man, just like his role on drama My Heart Twinkle Twinkle.. the plot was good but the ending was disappointing.. nobody knows who actually the real killer was because after Jae-hoon hit him with the trophy, the victim was still alive but he was bleeding on his head but then when another mysterious person came to the house he had died soaked of blood before s/he dragged his dead body to the bathroom and hit his head once again and cleaned the blood on the floor.. I assume the main killer was Jae-hoon, coz of him he was dead due to severe blooding on his head (after the first hit) and then he left the house but he returned to the house to make sure he was dead or not and I believe jae-hoon was the person who dragged him to the bathroom coz he brought the same brown bag and he hid it in his secret room with jung hae's red high heels

Judi Feb 05 2021 4:28 am This was a thrilling well cast drama. Really related to some older actors who did a great job, all of them. The police chief also good. For the direction, very good time lapses and scenes. Good script and characterisation. Kept us on our toes. Story, exciting until the end, but disappointing that the right guy didn’t get his come uppance. Couldn’t she have finally realised who really loved her and he survived the stabbing to claim her. If it had ended like that, it would have been morally correct and I’d have watched it multiple times. It left the audience depressed at the the end.

Why did Jung-Hae steal away with the body? It was the 3rd to last scene and is similar in a way to the last scene where Goong-Chul throws away the trophy, shoes and phone. Both acts hide all of the physical evidence tying Jae-Hoon to the crime, and Jae-Hoon is back in the group by the end, once again having the support of his friends. I think that the arrangement of the final three scenes was not very clear.

Against Cheating Dec 16 2020 10:02 am I’m still not sure if who the father of Yoo-Bin is. Goong-Chul asked his wife wife Jung-Hae if he was the father, but she never replied.

At the hospital the ghost of Man-Sik to Goong-Chip that Goon-Chul is the father.

I’m still not sure if Man-Sik is Yoo-Bin’s father. Can someone help me out in this.

I still have questions left hanging after finishing the ep 17 finale.

1. Who did actually kill Joo Gang-san? The reall killer is the one who smacked his head to the sink. And it was clear that the real is not JaeHoon because Gang-san didnt die after Jaehoon hit him using the trophy.

2. Why did Jonghae steal Gangsan's body?

Not say it ain't good per se, but the narrator is unreliable. Though i get it the writer wants to portray a friendship bond can survive any hardship. However, i can't understand why Junghae collecting Joo Gangsan' body?

If one is saying something, the next moment the other is saying something that denies the sayings of the first one. Bullshit is what is doing this writer. Those red shoes walked almost to every character of the drama. Luckily there is only one more episode, and the drama is over. It should have been a nice drama, but it turned out to be a failure because of the last two episodes and the idea that five friends, without exception, even if has passed twenty years, they melted when their first love had appeared. It means that they lived for twenty years in vain. What a losers.

There were brothers, here are old friends, more or less successful in life, who every single day they met and spent time together drinking instead to go home to their wives. In "My Mister" it was given undeserved attention to a delinquent young woman, here the same attention is given to a whore. In both dramas, the wife is placed in the last place. What has in their mind these stupid men including here the writers too. Want writers to show us that men when are getting older they become crazy? Even if this crisis will not take long might destroy a marriage forever as happened in the other drama.

Hae sook was pregnant from gong chul and man sik was the person who looked after her child, when she was in prison. Also Hae sook's mom death because of jung hae. I don't like jung hae. Poor hae sook. This drama is really interesting but I dont' like the acting of the lead actress song yonn ah.

wotm Aug 05 2020 10:55 am I think the reason why the series isn't doing so well is cuz this isn't a classical drama about familial problems, it has a main char but also the other friends do play a significant role into the storyline, each character has their own storyline, its about a modular storyline rather than that of a classical K-Drama where one char has the main storyline and the rest just follows along the main chars storyline each of the different chars here has their own story and their secrets this is an unconventional approach that the director has planned out for the series and besides one drawback is prob cuz most ppl dislike the fact that most of the cast are made up of veterans of the industry and not of the up and rising stars or younger actors/actresses

Ahn Goong-Chul part,a Gentle husband and Jung-hae part, a proud looking doctor,and the adult movie director Family,Lol I liked where they were going to Crush their husband first love at Ep 8. It's more fun and thriller filled than World of the married tho. And I have not seen Sky castle tho

@jabokl nm Aug 03 2020 4:41 am you should probably check out the drama "pied piper" the male lead was really good in that drama as the antagonist, it probably lies with the character's development in this drama than his acting tho and the female lead kinda made her name in K2 (among the international audience since many seemed to always bring up her stellar role/acting in this drama) again with an antagonist role as well. im a fan of both the male and female leads (that prompted me into watching this series) but i do have to admit that they were rather lacklustre in this drama (like idk there's just something very blasé about this drama and their roles/acting) that's why i haven't been actively following this drama on a weekly basis i might binge-watch the series once and for all after it has wrapped up tho just for the sake ig since the plot development failed to meet my initial expectations especially after taking over the golden time-slot following TWOTM's sensation

sf Aug 01 2020 1:15 am If the PD team imagined the main male character as a hysterical man with a sluggish face who does all kinds of grimaces more or less ridiculous, then the actor chosen for this role is suitable. He is the perfect clown. The main actress is good for what her character wants to express. In the last episode, she was definite as a proud woman, and her personality is obvious so different from those bunch of immature friends of her. Her personality is more appropriate whit the doctor's one. So, for those who are considering her as a boring person, she could appear in this way comparing her with those crazy men, plus this is the actress's style of play. Anyway, the storyline is more interesting compared with other dramas that are ongoing now.

I like the story that’s why I can’t stop watching. They should have given more exposure to the psycho golfer. He is a superb actor. I was suprised by his very convincing acting. Those friends in the cast are all good actors specially the urologist who is mysterious. I was thinking he might behind to all this tragic events. I hope it will get better.

It's just like another high class elite people drama, where the FC being blackmailed for adultery for revenge (that somehow I think it connected with Hae Seok), the kind but stupid husband. Yup just ordinary n predictable. But maybe it will have more intense when that motorcycle boy got killed. Coz then I'm sure the author will make everyone alibi questionable. I wish the author make a good twist plot in the midle

namnam Jul 16 2020 3:40 pm Great 2 episodes. I think this is gonna be better than TWOTM or at least it has got the potential to be better, Really makes you think about it for whole week. So here is my theory.

1. The person murdered is definitely Joo Kang San the golf instructor and of course I don't think the MC killed him. Who is the murdered gonna be one of the mysteries.

2. I don't think that Jung Jae-Hoon the urologist is the one stalking the Nam Jung Hae the FMC. I guess they are trying to push the audience to think he has asked to stalk just as they did with the male doctor in TWOTM who was shown to be actually spying FMC for someone which he didn't. Jung Jae-Hoon does have feelings for FMC and maybe they had some past relationship which gonna be revealed in the next episodes. I guess since he too has got feelings for FMC is being involved in the big picture of someone. But at the same he might be part of it, but I think they are making a lot obvious if that's the case.

3. Now here is an important thing in my opinion. The femme fatale Baek Hae Sook says to the FMC that "she knows what she did 20 years ago". I guess this specific thing is the secret that Man Sik wanted to tell the MC but chose not to.

4. Everything is going according to the plans of the femme fatale. And i guess she is the important person who the FMC is supposed to meet as mentioned in episode 1. Because that specific thing was the reason the FMC went to practice golf which then led to her meeting that suspicious golf instructor again and that too coincidentally. which then we all know leads to her affair with him and the femme fatale showing up suddenly in front of our friends. Everything seems too much for a coincidence. The arrival of femme fatale and the affair. I guess the femme fatale is taking revenge against FMC through all this.

5. As for the messages of FMC with Man Sik. Of course we'll have to see what they actually. Which I think will be revealed in the next episode. But I guess that could be fabricated too. But as I said every incident is leading to that same direction which make them hard to be coincidental.

6. Remember the femme fatale was gone for 20 years after being accused to murder a professor which I think she didn't do. 20 years gives a lot time to think for a perfect revenge. I guess the FMC has got something to do with this. or maybe even her father.
