Plot
Cat and Mouse is a costume comedy loosely based on the popular Chinese novel Qi Xia Wu Yi about the story of Judge Pao in the Song Dynasty and his group of heroic helpers, who together solve cases and catch criminals galore. In the original story, Zhan Zhao (aka “the Imperial Cat”) is constantly at loggerheads with Bai Yutong (aka “the Multicolored Mouse”), a Robin Hood figure who assists Judge Pao from the other side of the law. Their conflict experiences a modern rendition in this hilariously iconoclastic film, where Bai Yutong is turned into a cross-dressing heroine played by Cecilia Cheung with a crush on Zhan Zhao played by Andy Lau.
