"Becoming a Billionaire" introduces ways to become rich and through the process contains about 80 big and small secrets to success...

Oh Tae-Bong (played by Ji Hyun-Wu) lives in a small room on the roof and studies by himself to become the successor of a chaebol (business conglomerate). He believes that he is the heir to a chaebol and his rich father hid him away in his small room. Tae-Bong turned down an offer to work at a big company, while he got a job as a houseman in a hotel.

Lee Sin-Me (played by Lee Bo-Young) is a real successor to a chaebol, but still uses sample cosmetics and drinks cheap coffee from vending machines. She is driven to receive recognition from her father, who thinks woman should stay at home. She then meets Tae-Bong.

Meanwhile, Bu Tae-Hee (played by Lee Si-Young) has the perfect body and face and is a successor to a chaebol family. Chu Woon-Seok (Nam Gung-Min]) is the perfect prince of the high class.

"Becoming a Billionaire" takes over the Monday & Tuesday 21:55 time slot previously occupied by KBS2 drama series "Master of Study" (Kongbu-ui Shin) and will be replaced by "Secret Agent Miss Oh" on May 10, 2010.
Main actors started rehearsing their scripts on January 25th, 2010 & filming began on January 28th, 2010.

The best scenes were with Ji Hyun Woo and the ajusshis IMO. and Ji Hyun Woo with Lee Si Young.

Veronica Feb 21 2022 10:09 am Addendum- the best scenes in this dramas in my opinion are the ones between Namkoong Min and Lee Si Young, especially the ending scenes how she tried to cheer him up. Namkoong Min’s killer smile was so enchanting that no wonder she was so smitten!

Veronica Feb 15 2022 1:19 pm I watched this because I am a huge Namkoong Min fan. He looked absolutely dashing in spite of the bad hair style (I guess that was the style in 2010?lol) and I thought he played the role of the rich prince with ambition really well. This is one of his early drama but you can already see the great acting skills in the work.

As for the drama itself, I thought the story line was interesting with some classic cliche storyline. No one character was too unlikable. I thought the best cast member besides NKM was Lee Si Young. The character she played of a spoiled rich girl was so much fun to watch.

Some earlier comments from others said the 2 first leads were not attractive, I think they were ok in the looks department and since both NKM and LSY were so very cute, I think they carried the weight for the eye candy department in this drama :).

Fiona Dec 31 2021 2:10 pm This drama is such a fun 2010s classic. Love both Ji Hyun Woo and Lee Bo Young's chemistry. It's funny and entertaining. Lee Si Young's character is dramatic and bratty, but it adds to the conflict. NMG looks like a younger Hyun Bin too!

dido Jan 27 2017 5:11 pm the story was okay except for the searching for his father..it should have been finished with only 16 episodes, t'was too lengthy for that..too annoying!the conflict was not too convincing..but it was quite entertaining though..bu tae-hee pulled it through together with his father..

shreena Sep 25 2015 5:40 am the drama is full of practicality n practical jokes.have the lead actor was with even good looks the drama wud have been more interesting but I won't look down on his acting,he really have carried on the light n intense scences with full talent n I greatly praise that.well the most notable roles was of bu hoo family.I really enjoyed watching their family.the antagonists r also at their best.overall I loved the drama though for first few episodes I was in delimma to whether continue watching it or not.an enjoyable onetime watch dramma####

I know the plot was about finding the chaebol father but I´d liked it more if his parent´s fate wouldn´t have been like this. I prefer happy endings for all. His mom is dead, and his father mentally disordered and the only thing he remembers a bit is Tae Bong´s mom. Him drawing this signs of the necklace in his room his whole life? Nahhh...seriously dislike!! Despite of that I really liked Son Hoyoung in the first episode and how he met Tae Bong´s mother... I was really disappointed when it turned out that he had just a cameo role.
