Maybe not Disney because many of us with a Disney account coulnd't watch AC. But millions of us did find a way to watch AC. SWORD OF Aramun with Lee joon Gi was more then magnificent

cski Nov 15 2023 6:01 am This was a really good drama. Jamg Dong Gun was stiff before but was great in this drama. I love Joon gi, but I this drama he did not pick up the vibe of Eunsome and Saya that Song Joon Ki had in place. It wasn't sincere enough and I did not feel emotional connections between him and other characters. I liked this Tanya better. I don't disagree with other comments but in this story she was good. One of the best sequels around.

Rach!!! Nov 06 2023 6:24 am The three main characters endured long and exhausting war and even Tanya was once a slave. They changed, they were tired and wanted to end soon but doubt lurks in. That's why the set has bluish gray tone to emphasize the ambience. They are not the same person from years ago. Even Eunsom has gain great power and position and both Eunsom and Saya have became men of war. And I think Mr Acto r LJG is the best actor to play the male lead. Strong gaze, calm but intimidating expression, great in sword and fighting scenes and plus poin great in horse riding, just like an actual general in kingdom era. I don't think SJK would pull the general side as good as LJG.

As for Tanya, I always like how SSK is so graceful but playful inside. She always nail to play as loyal, nice manner, smart female lead with calm expression but always able to help the male lead gaining power. And she has unique way to convey romance, not the sweet or flammable type, it's more subtle, painful And willing to sacrifice type of romance.

And on the other side, the queen part, they use bold color and strong contrast (I hope the terms are right) to show the queen determination like no one can mess with me vibes. While Tagon always look so dark and hopeless, like wherever he went, he's up to no good. Remind me of XiongBa, Lord Cho Hak Ju, and Lord Lee In-Geom.

Please Watch The Sword Of Aramun, it's really great!!!!!!

Flower Nov 05 2023 5:50 pm I personally like the ending of season 1 better because it contains hope more than anything, while the ending of season 2 contains threat (even though Eunsom looks in peace).

However, overall, the second season is more exciting than season 1. Lee Joon Gi's acting is so phenomenal! The plot is cool. The war tactic amazes me.

It's a bummer that we can't understand what happened to Taelha's tribe before Arthdal though. But it's understandable. It leaves room for season 3 as well. I hope they release a full manga or novel. I' curious of their full story. Waiting for season 3 would be too long.

Tagon's story is sad actually. But his sad past cannot justify his wrong deeds, afterall.

The only downside is that they are putting Shin Sekyung to play Tanya Niruha. Everyone knows how bad of an acress she is. Her acting does not have soul at all. What a waste, Tanya Niruha character is supposed to be a very strong and impactful roles for the whole storyline but Shin Sekyung makes it so blunt and boring. Let alone, to be compared with the amazing Kim Jiwon from S1. I skipped most of this character parts because i cant accept her ruining that character. I hate you for spoiling my fav drama, Shin Sekyung!!!

Thank goodness other casts play their roles very well and make the series interesting.

I've watched both seasons, and the change of actors for certain characters in the drama really added a sense of maturity to the show, especially since it's set 8 years after season 1. Lee Joon Gi is undoubtedly one of the best actors out there, and not to be biased, but he's the best in action scenes (fight me! :p). Shin Se-Kyung as Tanya played her role perfectly. After 8 years, she seems 'calmer,' which, to me, did justice to her character's growth after all those years, while she still maintains her determination to achieve her goals and make a better place for people to live in.(with Eunseom and (Saya)) Jang Dong Gun and Kim Ok Vin always kept me eagerly anticipating their scenes. It was a love and hate relationship, but they portrayed it perfectly (I, too, have a love and hate relationship with Tagon, :p). You'll understand if you watched his scene with Tanya in the final episode. I just miss them. Will we get to see Lee Joon Gi play a proper villain in Season 3 as Saya?

As expected, Lee Joon Gi gave justice to Eunseom's and Saya character. It turned out better that he played the role especially with action/sword scenes.

Watching this season made me realize that taealha's the true villain and not tagon. If theres a 3rd season, I think Tanya's curse will happen to Taealha in the end.

I hope Momo tribe will still be present in s3 since I love Xabara so much!

I think theres more when Saya said "Tanya is dead" in the last episode.

It will be a fierce fight among Saya, Eunseom and Tanya, and Taealha.

Better if Lee Joon Gi will still take the role of male lead for the s3.

Though Lee Joon Ki's acting is also good, but Song Joong Ki could portray both Eunsom and Saya characters more distinctly, I believed they were different people. Jang Dong Goon is great. Kim Ok Vin looks so beautiful here, her acting is good too. Shin Se Kyung has improved here. Looking forward to the last 2 episodes. Well done to the whole team.

I was such a big fan of the first season that I couldn’t wait for the 2nd one. Now that it’s here, people are saying it’s not the same without Song Joongki as Eunseom and Saya but Lee Joongi literally is ?? on the roles!!! I love Lee Joongi and I pretty much watched all his dramas and he shines the best on historical ones so I knew I wasn’t going to be disappointed on his performance on this one! Just here to say that he literally lived up to what SJK started and I’m proud of him!!

Lee Joon Gi is undoubtedly the real Aramun :D I've never been a fan of him (I dont see his dramas) until I found him here. Jang Dong Gun also the best. He is a perfect cast for the lonely Tagon, I start to feel sorry about him and his burden. Even the supporting actors shine, they give great colors to this drama. I hope that it gains more attention it deserves.

Ryunami Oct 08 2023 3:55 pm On Saturday, tvN tried to avoid clashing with the 19th Hangzhou Asian Games (tvN wasn't broadcasting the Asian Games but the South Korea men’s national football team was playing the final match against the Japan team during the same period). tvN’s sudden decision to change the schedule had taken away viewers’ rights to watch the drama and contributed to the drop of ratings.

This ratings drop is attributed to the decision to air episodes 5 and 6 consecutively on September 23rd and cancel the drama on September 24th. Due to the Asian Games and the Chuseok holiday, this drama was canceled from September 24th to September 30th, October 1st. With another cancellation until October 7th, the drama already have a two-week break.

Last week they did not air the episodes due to Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving), and this week both episodes are supposed to come out today rather than one episode on Saturday and one on Sunday. I am not sure why it didn't air yesterday.

Every week I look forward to this drama. Lee Joongi's performance is breathtaking. He can be both Saya and Eunsom and look different in each role even though their outfits are the same!! After episode 5 I agree wholeheartedly that he is the best person to play Eunsom.

I also look forward to see Saya. He has been my favorite character since season 1. He looks so composed (but holding so much anger and trauma) in season 1 but in season 2 he comes to show his fragile side. I am impressed at how he can vent his anger and frustration honestly in front of his twin, something that he never did to anyone before.. suggesting that he sees Eunsom as a safe place to express his feelings.

Meanwhile, Tagon... he looked so helpless in this season. At first I don't like it. I miss the old charismatic Tagon. But then, if I look at the whole journey of his life, since season 1 until now, he has been through a lot of traumatic childhood and teens. His obsession for power is a manifestation of his longing to be acknowledged and loved, something he never got from his parents. He's actually a loving person but he needed to kill a lot of people to gain power. Even to the point that he had to ditch Taealha but failed, but he also loves her but his mistakes makes Taealha hates him. And he constantly fear that his crown might be taken away from him. After several years, all of these must have taken a toll on him and he's gone mad. ?

Emil Sep 26 2023 4:09 am Surprisingly a very good series. I'm not a fan of fantasy genre but the teasers are so good especially all those fighting scenes so thought I gave it a shot. The first episode was a bit dry and draggy in the beginning but it pick up the rhythm as the plot developed. The plot twists are very engaging I'm now so immersed in the series I can't wait for the next episodes. Having said that, there are special effects which felt a little bit amateurish but good storyline with interesting plot twists and great acting made it bearable. All actors are great, very convincing. Even the extras did an amazing job. I'm so amazed at how good the male lead played a dual role and how he showed two different charisma interchangeably. It made me so curios about male lead I dug up on him. I can tell he's a very experienced actor and the search results confirmed it. I also love how the series made even the villain admirable. totally worth it. Give it a shot, you may like it if not loved it.

I had to warm up with the 1st two episodes of this season because of the change of casting esp the 2 main leads. But after 3rd episode i got so immersed and impressed again with the flow of the plot, Tagon & Taealha damn always my favorite characters!, getting me in the edge of my seat like in season 1, especially Lee JoonGi's portrayal of ES & SY. Yeoksi Top-tier actors like him & SJK never disappoint!.. except for Sekyung's tanya neruha, awkward like i couldn't feel her immersion with her characters, acting is a bit... Nevertheless Superb drama. I can't wait for episode 7 & beyond ??

SoA Sep 23 2023 12:00 pm I have to say that my favorite recast in S2 is Chaeun's. I loved her character and portrayal in S1 and even in S2 Ha Seung Ri has carried on the same energy as S1. It is easilyy believable that she has simply grown up into this new face. All the other recasts have changed the flavour of the characters from S1. Who's portrayal you prefer, in the end, really depends on your taste. I think LJK's Eunseom and Saya are also very compelling, it's just that I prefer the kind of people SJK portaryed them as. Miss Ipsaeng's quirkiness, Nunbyeol's innocent power, even the Ago tribe warriors that have changed. The old actors really own their roles. From Yeolseon to Yangcha to Dalsae. And of course, Tagon and Taearha are portrayed masterfully as usual. Got to say I miss all the elaborate hairstyles from S1.

But maybe you will find a bit confusion as you will find so many new words and characteristics like igutu, neanthal, niruha, inaishingi, etc. So its okay if you finally decide to check the season 1

Lee JoonGi's action scenes are taking my breath away.... he has brought a wild charm in this drama which was beyond my imagination, both his visuals and action is stunning.... DongGun and OkVin duo is always suspenseful and exciting. Moreover Lee JoonGi is charismatic in emotional scenes..... I loved all those reunion and hugs, my heart found peace.... The continuation of season one is perfectly delivered. At first, I thought season two won't give me the thrill of season one. But it feels like season two is more thrilling than season one!

A Sep 17 2023 9:05 am I am a fan from season 1 and at first because of cast change i didn't recognize few people ipsaeng, badoru, etc, I had to watch first season as well as casts before season 2 plot jumped way ahead 2 year passed and ago tribe united as well as their costume clothes i don't know why but there is no feel of Ago tribe to it because of what season 1 give us. Anyway sure it can be development to Ago tribe to wear such cloches and fight bur still i think every Ago tribe had their unique customs now they united they wear what just liberators and other countries wear? It appears to me they ignored little detail of this costume design also some other things and focused on plot instead such a shame first season appeared more focused on detail of custome of their tribe what they believed clothes represented itself but this season nothing in little tribe custom just Eunsom fighting arthdal with bunch of peasant it's not Ago tribe had more color more like warrior spirit in their way of make up. Is this for budget cut? or something wear mask? how about cool make up like in season1 cool hair styles. Just like netflix series copied many style should've sticked with season one cool hair cool make up cool rituals where is their war ritual dance or some little Ago things would be great shame hope it get better.

CW Sep 17 2023 7:59 am I didn't watch the first Arthdal, because I frankly, didn't like it. It didn't hold my attention. But I thought I'd give this a shot and to my surprise, this is quite good! It's a bit too amorphous and the costumes make No Sense at all. Look, huge buildings, well made, carved, yet everyone is wearing rags or cheap looking material. Doesn't fit. They should have thought that one out. That Aside, it really is a joy to watch, despite being about struggle. And Lead actor and actress do really well, good chemistry. Actually all the acting is pretty good! But I've watched only 3 episodes, so we'll see how it progresses. I think the biggest shocker to me are Lee Joon Gi and Shin Se Kyung. I've not seen Joon Gi do this kind of mature acting before, not exactly, this one requires a different touch and he's pulling it off well, which is hard after a well established first part . And Shin Se Kyung, is a surprise. I knew she could act, but she does this part almost expertly. When you start to lose who is acting and you only see the part and become immersed in the story, you have succeeded as actors. These 2 surprised me. The others are all good of course and have been for years, but these just caught me off guard. Anyway, well done, well done!!

But Joongi's acting is flawless.

Shake Sep 11 2023 1:20 pm Sorry i cant take this drama seriously. I opened the episode and saw lee jun kis wig and found that wig so funny and couldnt take the drama for what it is rather a comedy. Junki is my fav but seriously couldnt stylists do better with wigs? His hair is essential part of his look and they messed it up. He looks like someone who cane out of comedy big league or some gag concert. Atleast in last season hair werent great but were still convincing enough.

OG_Arthdal Sep 10 2023 2:35 pm Really missed SJK and KJW in the first 2 episodes! SJK had perfectly brought a gentle, steadiness to Eunseom's fire to contrast with the innocence in Saya's cunning. And KJW's Tanya was much more nuanced in the complexity of emotions and relationships she has to balance. I really hope the characterization picks up in the following episodes and it doesn't reduce into a show of pure violent spectacle. The first season had such an elaborate story line with real feeling. SO it would be a pity if this doesn't live up to that. Have waited 4 years for this!

To anyone reading this, if you dislike the change in actors and criticize them because you've built up your own idealized version, remember that overly harsh criticism can come across as online bullying. Even if the actors respond with legal action, your hurtful comments can affect them mentally and impact their self-esteem as performers. Disliking a casting change is fine, but consider not watching if it upsets you. Instead, use your time constructively rather than dwelling on hatred simply because of a change in actors.

Both the previous actors did commendable jobs in their roles, and it was their prerogative to decline further involvement. This is reality, not a fantasy world, and there's no need to hate on them for their decisions. They have their personal reasons, and it's not for us to judge them. The new actors are also quite skilled and can portray the characters effectively. If you dislike the casting changes, simply choose not to watch. Nobody is forcing you to, and most importantly, no one truly cares. Keep negative thoughts to yourself and focus on productive endeavors in life.

I have liked Song Joon Ki since "Sungkyungkwan Scandal" and "Innocent Man" but somehow I wasn't interested in Arthdal Chronicles until LJG was cast for Season 2. I can't pass on a LJG drama so now I plan to watch Season 1 ahead of Season 2.

I guess for many people in this comment section, it's the other way round... Different strokes for different folks.?‍♀️

I’d like to add that SJK and KJW, who are both in the same talent agency, were the ones to decline the role from their end. It’s not the drama production team’s fault that they had to change their leads. They couldn’t put off the sequel forever.

I’m not happy with the change in cast either and I’m not even a fan of SSK’s acting and while I like LJK, I don’t think I’ll be able to see him in the twin role. I’m quite relieved and super glad that Tagon and Kim Ok Bin are coming back as I was equally invested in their characters. And hopefully some of the other supporting actors will be returning too.

I can’t say I’ll love this the way I did first “3” seasons but so I’m grateful to be getting anything at all for this drama after that dreaded cliffhanger and incomplete story we left back even if we aren’t getting the same lead actors again.

Decades worth. 1 example of a show that has a similar theme was the show Spartacus. Another period piece. Feel free to check it out. The Spartacus actor was changed. Even though the original actor was popular. It wouldn't have mattered what the story was changed to. The main character was different. Having worked in that industry for a few years, I have seen it happen in several genres. From comedy to period pieces. Not to mention, the US is very well known for having 1 actor for pilot and a different one when it actually airs. Sometimes it is time between. Actors do take on other projects. As they say in Hollywood, "The Show Must Go On". Keep in mind, Acting has only become a noble profession in the last century or 2. Before they were the Jesters and Clowns. Now they are the Clothes Hangers & Telemarketers. I've seen actors switched simply because the company sponsoring the product didn't think the age of the actor was in their product's best interest. Didn't suit their niche customer. Don't worry, they'll have still have other jobs. You'll see them again somewhere.

i'm thankful for the replacement for their couragement taking over the roles even though they know many old OG actor fans will be very disrespectful for them and the show on general.

Western films has their flaws but at least they Rewrite or Revise the plot if 1 or 2 of the main actors couldn't continue esp if it's for an entire freakin' Season. It's a disrespect to the film industry to have such a stupid way of handling a potentially good piece.

Say Se-kyung is a daughter or a far-relative of Tanya who took over the priestess role. Make up a scenario why the Tanya and Eunseom are no longer in the picture, whether they were killed after fighting for their land (just do it in a narrative form without scenes), went to a far away land, etc. Think of something.

Simp all you want for Joon-gi but that won't erase the fact that this is by far the worst way of handling actor changes. It's like telling a kid "Hey this is Emily Blunt" when the face clearly isn't. You get my point?

I understand life happens but the way how this turned out must only be a last resort, usually when the parties involved passed away or something. But... they're all fine and still actively acting. Possibly due to busy schedule? How can that even happen if they already knew season 2 was confirmed, just delayed. If true, really irresponsible for all parties involved. All this means that there were inadequate communication for all parties involved. I can't find any valid reason other than to avoid a scandal or simply industry politics. As I'm an avid fan for season 1, I was really looking forward to season 2. To hear an epic fail decision like recasting the main leads is just plain stupid. The fact that the season 2 is a continuation, recasting have absolutely no merit. I rather them wait a few more years to do this right than to rush it. I understand delay is purely bad for business, but recasting is the worst thing they can do. But the staffs gotta eat. This is one of the most beautiful Korean production I've seen in a long time. To me, this is a murderous crime toward art. For me, this frustration will probably follow their names for a while. Huge disappointment. I don't care for what reasons they may announced in the future. Too late. I'm a fan huge of Lee Joon Gi as well, but this is not how I wanted to see him again. Still happy for him. FYI, I'm a paying audience. Don't @ me or whatever, just ranting and leaving my opinion. Hoping Song Joong Ki and Kim Ji Won will read this. Doubt it.

Every cast including Song Joong-ki, and Kim Ji-won gave their best performance. I was eagerly waiting for its season 2. Lee Joon-Gi and Shin Se-Kyung are outstanding actors and actresses. It can be understood only by watching their dramas. But for Arthdal Chronicles, I'd like to see Song Joong-ki and Kim Ji-won in season 2. I can't see Eun Seom, Saya, and Tanya's characters any other way. Maybe it's my problem. I request that all the directors don't change the actors from season 1 to season 2. If necessary, wait a few more days. Anyway, best wishes to Arthdal Chronicles drama and its team. Good Luck.

It is a smart move to set the time 8 years (or so) later, so that the change of actors makes sense because they become more mature as time goes by. I can't wait to watch this drama! I hope it will be successful.
