Anybody else got the feeling that this version of Gein is actually a blend of Gein and Enishi? He has Gein's mask and also the puppet master's strings, but his look under the mask as well as his tachi blade and fighting style are more in line with Enishi.
(Come to think of it, the guns could also refer to Heishin and the long black hair and shoulder spikes point to Hyoko, cramming most of the six comrades into a single character)
Han Says:
Dec 29 2012 6:51 pm
Takeru Sato was such a good pick for Kenshin, I mean like his character was pretty similar to how he played Kamen rider Den o, all weak looking and stuff, but then he can also get mad at times. Well acted.
Thumbs up!!! Says:

I loved it! It was really cool! Takeru Sato really did well in portraying Kenshin in the movie.. The over all of the movie was worth it of the long lines in the movie house.. I so want it to be a trilogy! I hope they will continue this.. るろうに 剣心 愛してる!!!

This film includes everything you will find and ask for a live action of a manga! The castings were awesome, and the fighting scenes are just "natural" looking. Takeru Sato did a great job on performing the personality of Kenshin Himura! A movie worth watching for, again and again, and again!

It is so Perfect! Definitely a MASTERPIECE! A movie worth watching in your lifetime...and worth waiting for a sequel. Everyone in this film is worth commending. The visuals and story remained loyal to the anime as much as it can. I hope this will get an Oscar. This is so good...insanely great move. The casting is superb! Battousai!

I just watched the movie, it is everything i wanted in an live action adaptation. Just to answer some questions. Oniwanbanshu does not appear in this movie at all even though Kanryu is one of the villains, Saito is introduced from the beginning and is in most of the scenes

any international release? i welcome the fact the there no shishio and no enishi . what i think the directors did was welcome him as a wandering samurai, and would probably redo the legend of kyoto at a later time , dammm cant wait to see it
Swoopty Says:

I'm guessing that Gein is Aoshi because gein is the juppongatana puppet master and from what i saw in the trailer he was obviusly using kodachis.

Jul 04 2012 12:21 pm
no shishio,no aoshi and no enishi it's weird !!!! why are they not here, but why kanryu gein and inui are they ??? also i was thinking when someone would do a live action they would make it with some movies actors who can transcend a character (i'm not saying they are bad actors but with all japaneses actors out there they are just average) , i am a little disapointed but i hope than it gonna be a good adaptation...

I can't wait for this movie! I loved the anime/manga.
I hope they do this well, From the trailer it actually looks good! I think he actually looks like kenshin, I'm not sure about kaoru but i'd get over that as long as it's great enough, It's gonna take ages after this is releashed for it to be uploaded with subs though :( But it's releashed the day after my bday yahh!
Oh also Am i the only one annoyed with people that think the ova's were real??? Obviously they weren't, They were made by some random directors etc that just decided that, even The author of the manga was furious with the ending, The real ending is a happy one! <3 The ova's are just a "bonus" (one that i could of lived without)Not canon.
