ep. 36
Hye-yeong already knew Tae-san’s situation and lends him one thousand Whan. Upon regaining power, he engages to reconstruct the bridge despite the pouring rain. The situation isn’t much different with Dae-ho, who is trying to fix things to run properly. He patiently waits over 7 test operations and discovers that they overrode the machine by putting in too much gasoline. After they fix the problem, a stream of white sugar comes out of the outlet and everyone screams with joy.
Tae-san continues to fight the stormy weather to carry out the construction. Once again, the overflowing water takes down what they had built. Tae-san, with brusies and bloodstains all over him from taking a dreadful beating from the workers, still manages to look for a private money lender in the deluge.
ep. 37
Tae-il visits Hye-yeong’s home and tries to lend more money, but Nan-cho asks him to mortgage more properties. Dae-ho plans to expand his sugar factories and expresses his desire to establish a woolen factory. He is confident of the success in his idea: after the nation becomes more stable, the demand of need for food and clothing will increase. Going to the iron and cement companies and banks, Tae-san begs them to lend him money. Unfortunately, everyone turns him down. In despair, Tae-san stays overnight by the beachside and returns to his office in the morning. He goes out to meet a private investor who wishes to see him in the Gwangbok area. The person who waits for him is…
ep. 38
Already sending three thousand whan to the account of Segi Construction, Hye-yeong expresses her love to Tae-san. Seeing the fervent desire in her eyes moves Tae-san, and he spends a night with her.
Dae-ho establishes the woolen factory with US aid. Despite the pressure to buy American machines, given by the director of US embassy, Dae-ho shows him the research data related to establishing a woolen factory which dampens the director’s enthusiasm. He concentrates on buying the world class machines. On the same day as the completion ceremony of Gyoryeong Bridge, Hye-yeong gives birth to Tae-san’s son. After receiving a call from Saint Park, Yeong-soon Hyun waits for the birth of the child.
ep. 39
On May 16th, 1961, the Revolutionary Military Movement Committee proclaims martial law to maintain the public order. In the process of the military roundup of economical criminals, Tae-san becomes arrested at a work sight outside of Seoul and Dae-ho carefully observes the situation after the May 16th military coup in Japan.
During the investigation at the prosecution office, Tae-san leaves a great impression on the investigator. In addition, the new government aims to reconstruct the economy and they make a decision to let him meet the Chief Commander, Jung-hee Park.
ep. 40
Figuring out the self-sufficient economy model that Jung-hee Park has pursued, Tae-san doesn’t rely on foreign construction materials, but maintains his business and stays away from any reliance on foreign goods. Also, he sends his son Il-guk to a construction site to make him a strong boy, but as he works there, he grows more weary and fearsome of his father.
In his wait-and-see position after the May 16th military coup, he finally expresses in a press conference that he wants to make a contribution to the economy of Korea. He returns to Korea and of course, the CIA agents wait for him at the airport.
ep. 41
Being on the number 1 black list as an economical criminal, Dae-ho is forced to meet Jung-hee Park. Dae-ho Guk persuades Jung-hee Park by saying that if the new government’s primary plan is to reconstruct the economy, then he must provide an opportunity for the economists. He becomes the administrator of the economical reconstruction committee and focuses on obtaining the loan to design the base for the industrialization.
Dae-choel Park, who works as a part-time market cleaner, becomes hospitalized due to lack of sleep and nutrition. However, he checks out of the hospital immediately so as not to lose his job.
Cement is as important as rice in the field of construction. Tae-san visits Jung-hee Park and requests the establishment of a cement factory. While going over the documents, he calls Tae-san over to have a drink with him. Jung-hee Park invites Tae-san to join him as if he were his friend, and Tae-san agrees without hesitation. The chief security guard, Jong-kyu Park, becomes furious and pulls out his gun upon seeing Tae-san’s behavior.
ep. 42
He opens up to Tae-san and they share drinks together. Jung-hee Park tells him that he naturally hates wealthy men, but he despises poverty more than wealth. He strongly expresses his desire to put an end to poverty. He flips the dishes and lays them on the floor and walks as if he were walking on stepping stones. Seeing him reminisce about his childhood, Tae-san recognizes the free-and-easy part of him. The proposal written by the economical reconstruction committee is ratified by the new government, and Dae-ho brings his crew to the US and West Germany to obtain a loan. On Dae-ho’s leave, the employees from the woolen factory use slowdown tactics to express their desire of establishing a union. Dae-ho’s son Cheol-min, also the vice-president of the factory, forcefully engages a closedown. Even though his son studied abroad, Tae-san makes his oldest son Il-guk a menial worker at a construction site. When Dae-cheol cleans the garbage, his friends visit him and tell him that they should write a statement against the military regime and demand them to change to a civil government. When Jong-pil Kim, the Chief Commander of CIA, files a report to Jung-hee Park, he lays various plans and orders him to find a solution in order to receive support from US.
ep. 43
Jung-hee Park and Jong-pil Kim use their brain power to discuss the right time for the transfer of power and economical development. At last, Jong-pil Kim successfully engages talks with Japan and U.S.; therefore Jung-hee Park travels abroad for the first time. When the government’s five year economical development plan becomes officially reported, he remains positive about the cement factory permit and pushes his workers for production speed. A government official finds Tae-san excavating a mountain without a construction permit and tries to stop him. However, Tae-san forcefully drives him out of the construction site. As intended by Tae-san, Il-guk, who started at the very bottom, becomes an official staff member and I-guk enters the military.
Dae-cheol Park, the student president who also sells noodles at the market place, talk about the current situation with other students who are unhappy with the military dictatorship.
ep. 44
Successfully introducing a foreign capital, Dae-ho returns to Korea. He receives a report on the closedown of woolen factory. However, he supports his son Cheol-min and compares him with Chelo-seung, but does not speak of Jae-hueng Kim, who happens to be the vice-president of the factory. Tae-san visits I-guk who is accused of assaulting an officer and imprisoned. He finds out that there was a misunderstanding during a soccer game when he tackled the officer. Relieved, he buys him a bowl of soup and comes back. Obtaining the permit of Dan-yang cement factory and $ 450,000 thousand dollar of foreign capital, Tae-san continues to work zealously. Dae-cheol finds the visit of Jung-hee Park in Japan very dishonorable. He feels that the normalization of diplomatic relations must be stopped. Lieutenant Lee from the CIA follows Dae-cheol to his house and tells him to be careful.
ep. 45
General Jun-hee Park, in full dress uniform, participates in the opening ceremony of Ulsan industrial center, an empty space with only posts driven into the grounds. At a dinner party, the Secretary tells Jung-hee Park that the plan is grand, but he doubts that foreign investors have interest in the business. He becomes humiliated by Jung-hee and exits the room.
Others doubt the success of the Ulsan industrial center, but Tae-san emphatically believes in it. Dae-cheol suspects Jung-hee Park’s intention in revolutionizing the nation’s economy and he often meets his friends to talk about the political situation. Lieutenant Lee visits him again to warn him. Public information officer Hu-rak Lee introduces colonel Dong-sik Yoon, a chief officer of commerce and also a member of the economical reconstruction committee, to Jung-hee Park. He suggests Jung-hee Part implement a currency reform. According to his information, the underground money amounts to approximately 300 billion whan. Jung-hee shows excitement at this news.
ep. 46
Jung-hee Park, who shows great interest in the currency reformation, calls for Colonel Yoon and assigns him the job, giving him total control. Chief Presidential Secretary Hu-rak Lee gives Jung-hee Park a report about Jong-pil’s relation to stock price fluctuation, Saenara scandal on importing foreign vehicles, Walkerhill construction, and licensing slot machine business. On the other hand, Jong-pil meets Ohira, the Foreign Minister of Japan, to engage a negotiation of the Korea-Japan property claim.
Dae-ho Guk sees the growth of Eutteum Seasoning Company and plans to establish a seasoning factory. He assigns Tae-san with the construction work and asks him to join the National Economist Committee to support them. Jung-hee Park calls Dae-ho in to ask his opinion on the currency reform. However, Dae-ho speaks negatively of the idea. Meanwhile, there is a rumor floating around that the Korea-Japan property claim has been settled and U.S. investors are coming to Korea.
ep. 47
Jung-hee Park devaluates the currency by 10:1 by enforcing a currency reformation. Due to this alarming raise of prices, factories suffer from budget and material shortage. In the continual attacks from non-government parties and students, Jung-hee Park admits to his failure in currency reform system. In trying to retrieve the adverse publicity, Jong-pil Kim establishes a Democratic Party. Jung-hee Park gathers the leading figure of coup Seong-geup Jang and eight ginsengs to declare his candidacy for the presidential election.
Il-guk becomes a manager and takes the seasoning factory construction job of Daehan Product Company. He runs into supply and demand difficulty. I-guk, who is discharged from the army, becomes hired by Segi construction as a menial worker and Sam-guk goes into the military. Cheol-min, who is in charge of the seasoning factory construction, raises the price of the sugar to cover up his financial difficulties.
ep. 48
Jong-pil Kim leaves the country to minimize the negative influence on Jung-hee Park of the Democratic Party, who is competing against Bo-seon Yoon of the Democratic Justice Party in the nation’s 5th presidential election. Dae-ho orders his people to find a man name Jung-ho Hong, who is known to have an extraordinary sense of duty. Jung-ho, Hong is preparing an opening of a broadcasting network and in a hurry to establish a press. Dae-ho’s eldest son, Cheol-min, works enthusiastically. However, he promotes his second son Cheol-seung as a vice-president, which gives him as much power as his older brother. On the other hand, Il-guk, who is in charge of the supply and demand, loses $ 70,000 by fraud. He does not go out for a couple of days under heavy guilty conscience.
The fifth presidential election starts with unpredictability. At the beginning of the ballot opening, however, Bo-sun Yoon races far ahead of Jung-hee Park.
ep. 49
Towards the closing of the ballot, tons of supportive votes are verified to be Jung-hee Park’s and, in consequence, he becomes the winner of the election.
The nation is in chaos, due to the devastating rumor of the immoral fund raising conducted by the Democratic Party, which involves stock price fluctuation, and fraud of Saenara’s automobile importation, Walkerhill hotel, and slot machines. A demonstration held against the Korea-Japan talk spreads nationwide and Dae-cheol Park, a wanted criminal, leads the demonstration group. Because of the outburst of trichotomy fraud, Daehan Product Company is heavily criticized by the press. Dae-ho, who knows the power of the press, decides to establish a broadcasting company and press. President Jung-hee Park makes a speech at Tae-san’s completion ceremony of the cement factory. He says that economy is a new form of revolution, and they should become the pioneers in establishing a modern nation.
ep. 50
The new government proclaims martial law for the whole nation. Under this proclamation, leaders of opposition parties and student movements are tracked down. Tae-san makes a request regarding international industrial orders during the Vietnam War and receives welcoming news related to a possible bidding opportunity of Narathiwat highway construction in Thailand. In trying to resolve the trichotomy fraud situation, Dae-ho finds Jung-ho Hong the perfect candidate to run the press, and offers half of his property. He succeeds in persuading him and establishes a press. Along with the intensification of student movements and the expectations of sending a dispatch to Vietnam, Dae-Cheol Park becomes arrested. Under encouragement from Bo-sun Yoon and opposition people, he goes to court.
ep. 51
Despite the arrestment of Dae-cheol Park, the student movement continues. Nonetheless, the government manages to send a dispatch to Vietnam and ratifies a treaty with Japan. Dae-ho Guk accelerates the publishing of Deahan newspaper and Tae-san arduously wins the bid of the Narathiwat highway construction deal. The CIA formulates a conspiracy to eliminate spy groups and arrest professors, students and corporate workers. Dae-cheol Park, who was sentenced to 5 years in prison, appeals to the court and receives a parole with 5 years of probation.
ep. 52
In a time of political instability, Segi Construction wins the bidding of a major construction worth $ 5.6 million dollars. Upon hearing the news, Jung-hee Park becomes delighted, and he tells Tae-san it is a legitimate and honorable export of technique. He promises Tae-san that he’ll drink with him when he returns.
After winning the bid, Segi construction makes an advertisement to recruit workers. After persuading his professors, Dae-cheol takes a graduation exam. He applies for many jobs but gets denied. However, he makes it to an interview for Segi construction.
ep. 53
Dae-cheol finds out that his name was on the list of new employees but that his employment was cancelled during the Employment Eligibility Verification. Dae-cheol sends a letter to President Park in regards to the problem and Tae-san takes a stand for his security. At last, President Park agrees and, in consequence, he becomes officially hired by Segi construction.
President Park advises Dae-ho to establish a fertilizer plant, and he gives his second son Cheol-seung a chance. Cheol-min, the oldest sun of Dae-hoe, tries to accelerate the production of the seasoning factory to compete with his brother. Nonetheless, his efforts do not show any progress.
Meanwhile, with the special order of the president, Segi construction’s leave to Thailand is telecasted over the network.
ep. 54
In Thailand, Segi construction uncovers the road due to a product deficiency, and they fax a document of complaint to the supplier’s headquarters. Segi places Dae-cheol in Ulsan for the fertilizer plant construction, and he ardently takes care of the material supply, accounting, supervision and labor.
Dae-ho reports to the government about the 1 million dollar rebate received from Mizui, which is related to the construction of the Daehan fertilizer plant. President Park recommends that instead of being paid in cash, they should prepare the products in need. Finally, they decide to use two thirds of the money for the fertilizer plant construction, and the rest for a political fund. Under careful supervision and protection of customs, they circumspectly bring in products such as electronics, toilets, refrigerators, air-conditioners, and phones, which have marketability.
ep. 55
Through observation, Tae-san realizes that his equipment is not adaptable to the weather conditions in Thailand. He promises to solve the problem after visiting home and makes a request to extend the construction period. A man who claims to be a former member of the Democratic Party asks for a political fund promising that he will shut his eyes regarding the illegal importation of Daehan group. However, when the Daehan group refuses, he leaks the information to the press. Even the CIA makes an effort, trying to untangle the situation, but the reporters also witness the scene of illegal importation. Consequently, the illegal importation of Daehan group becomes first page material.
In desperation, Dae-ho requests President Park’s help, saying that it was a collaborated work with the government.
ep. 56
After having a meeting with President Park, Dae-ho realizes that Daehan group must solve the problems related to the illegal importation of saccharine, along with the other matters. Dae-ho puts his second son in charge to untangle the situation. Vice-president of Daehan, Jae-heung Kim, meets with Hyeong-uk Kim, the Chief Commander of the CIA, to discuss the matter concerning the protection of Cheol-seung. However, he just carries the war into the enemy’s camp.
Il-guk, who has supplied defective materials to Thailand, loses his position. During his supervisory visit in Ulsan, Tae-san hears about the potential of Dae-cheol from the supervisor. Tae-san promotes him as a manager and sends him to the Thai construction site. At the national assembly, politicians continue to censure the illegal importation of saccharine. In the middle of the meeting, Doo-whan Kim throws excrement at the minister. The situation becomes worse and all of the cabinet members resign from their positions. Dae-ho, who realizes the seriousness of matter, sends his son Cheol-seung to prison and, at a press conference, makes a promise to contribute all of the stocks from Daehan fertilizer.
ep. 57
Despite his promise of contribution to the nation, the nation’s critical situation does not improve. Therefore, Hyung-uk Kim, the Chief Commander of CIA, and Hu-rak Lee, the Chief Secretary, call in Dae-ho and his son Cheol-min. They order Dae-ho and his son to increase the stock share by 6%. Moreover, they force him to contribute the factory once it is completed. Il-guk’s wife visits him at the broken factory, where he was sent after making a mistake, and importunes him to go to the US. She suggests that they run a business like a Laundromat or hamburger shop in the US, but knowing his future, he ignores her suggestion. I-guk starts dating a friend’s younger sister and Sam-guk feels burdened and depressed from work.
Dae-cheol, who figures out the situation at the Thailand construction site, reports to headquarters that the supervisors are considering a shutdown.
ep. 58
Dae-ho takes all the responsibilities of illegal importation. He gives full control of the Daehan group to his son Cheol-min and becomes a recluse. When Tae-san visits Thailand, Dae-cheol tells him that this highway construction is an opportunity for a Segi’s world-class victory and they should execute it as they did with Kyoryeong Bridge. However, the men, full of complaints turn to rioting and burn down the factory. They try to steal the safe but Dae-cheol, who is in charge of accounting, secures it with his life. Tae-san gives Dae-cheol full control of the Thailand construction site, who saved the public funds by risking his life.
ep. 59
Having faith in Park Dae-chul’s leadership, Tae-san puts him in charge of the construction project in Thailand. President Park Jeong-hee invites Tae-san to his private party and informs him of his Seoul-Busan expressway construction plan. Feeling victimized by politicians, Kuk Dae-ho wants to enter politics, but after meeting Yoo Jin-san, who is a leading figure in the opposition party, he gives up. Yi-kuk brings Myeong-hee home to introduce her to Tae-san and his mother. Tae-san tells them that he’ll respect Yi-kuk’s decision about marriage. Then Tae-sul comes back from Thailand and brings Il-kuk with him.
ep. 60
When Tae-san hears about a dredging project in Vietnam, he believes that it will be a good chance to make money. Even before the contracting company is chosen, he buys the equipment from Saito Company, which is his possible competitor. He also devotes himself to the Seoul-Busan expressway construction, which is one of President Park’s main election pledges. Kuk Dae-ho tells Chul-seung to help Chul-min who has just been released from prison after being convicted of the Dae-han fertilizer smuggling incident. Chul-seung feels bad about the fact that his father didn’t comfort him. He gets furious when Chul-min tells him to stay out of the country for a while. However, neither of them understands what their father has on his mind.
ep. 61
President Park carefully examines the possible route of the expressway. Chon Tae-san tries hard to draw up an estimate for the project. However, President Park asks him for a discount. Defeating their competitor Saito Company, which focuses on the state-of-art equipment, Se-ki Construction finally wins the contract in Vietnam on the condition that only the workers with special force training will be dispatched. Kuk Chul-min wants to branch out into the electronics industry and publicly criticizes Hwa-seong Electronics owned by Chul-seung’s father-in-law. To become the chairman of the company, Chul-seung starts digging up dirt on his own brother. While Chul-min is on a business trip to the USA, Dae-ho inspects the management of the company. He tells Chul-gyu to quit his job at the newspaper agency and learn the business.
ep. 62
Chon Tae-san believes that proper equipment is the key to success in the expressway construction. He promotes Park Dae-chul to department manager and puts him in charge of a heavy machinery factory. Hoping his son Il-kuk will learn Dae-chul’s aggressiveness and tenacity, Tae-san makes Il-kuk Dae-chul’s assistant manager. When President Park speeds up his expressway project, North Korean guerillas get caught near the presidential residence. Tae-san is worried that the incident has put obstacles in the way of his project. When Chul-min comes back from his business trip, Kuk Dae-ho tells him to find a Japanese joint-venture company. He also informs him that Chul-gyu has become a director while he was gone. Chul-min isn’t happy with his father who doesn’t recognize his efforts. Chul-seung is slowly but surely preparing to attack Chul-min and Dae-ho by collecting evidence of their tax evasion. Meanwhile, new factory manager Dae-chul tries to improve some problems in the factory, but the senior engineers strongly resist.
ep. 63
Tae-san’s family is shocked to hear that Il-kuk’s wife has cancer. Despite the infiltration of communist guerillas, the Seoul-Busan expressway project continues and the ground-breaking ceremony takes place. Dae-chul tries to operate the machinery factory in a more systematic manner, but the senior engineers are against his reforms. Realizing that he should know the machinery well to have control over the engineers, he studies the machinery by disassembling a bulldozer and putting it back together. Little by little, he gains absolute control over the factory management. When the dust from the nearby concrete factory keeps causing troubles with the machines, Dae-chul complains and the concrete factory promises him that it will install a dust prevention device. However, when it doesn't carry out its promise, Dae-chul digs a huge hole on the main road to the concrete factory in order to block the traffic. Dae-chul soon receives a phone call from Park Jong-gyu, chief secretary of the President. To make matters worse for Dae-chul, the President hears that Dae-Chul's second son Dae-ho is accused of corruption. Dae-ho is called before the President.
ep. 64
Park Jong-gyu criticizes Dae-chul and even Tae-san gets blamed. However, Dae-chul doesn’t budge. President Park finally gives in since he believes that carrying on the expressway project is more important than anything. Kuk Dae-ho is shocked when President Park informs him of Chul-seung’s accusation. President Park feels that Dae-ho did him a favor when the Dae-han fertilizer incident happened, so he decides not to make an issue of the accusation. As a result, Chul-seung’s attempt to gain total control of the company has come to nothing. Instead he’s sent abroad and Dae-ho comes back as Chairman of Dae-han Group. As the scale of the company grows, Tae-san divides the Se-ki Construction into different groups of a family company. Dae-chul is promoted to managing director. He moves the factory to the outskirts of the city and suggests joining in the apartment construction industry. Tae-san accepts his idea. Anticipating the outcome of the expressway construction, Tae-san announces his plan to build an automobile manufacturing factory. While Il-kuk’s wife is on her deathbed, Sam-kuk disappears, leaving a note behind. Meanwhile, Ik-kuk works hard to gain his father’s trust. When a problem occurs in material supplies, he drives to Ulsan in heavy snowstorm.
ep. 65
When Tae-san arrives at the USA for negotiations with Ford Motor Company, he hears that Il-kuk and his wife died and Sam-kuk is missing. However, he swallows his sorrow and finishes the negotiation. Kuk Dae-ho dismisses Chul-min from all his positions in the company. Meanwhile, Chul-gyu expects that the electronic business will become Dae-han’s main business. He takes over a small semi-conductor company and expands his business. Se-ki Construction successfully completes building the apartment and starts the So-young Dam Construction, as well. Ford Motor Company signs the contract with Se-ki after having thoroughly looked into Se-ki’s job performance, financing and credibility.
ep. 66
Heartbroken by Il-kuk’s death, Tae-san asks Dae-chul to become his son. However, Dae-chul tells him that he'd rather be his business partner than his son. As the apartments built by Se-ki become very popular, the competition to buy them is getting fierce. People with fame and power ask Se-ki to give them priority to purchase the apartments. Dae-chul believes that celebrities’ choosing their apartments will have a tremendous advertising effect. He decides to grant some requests. Kuk Dae-ho is very satisfied with Chul-gyu’s semi-conductor business plan. He puts the electronic business under Chul-gyu’s charge. Chul-min decides to live as an outcast in the family. He doesn’t even show up at Dae-ho’s birthday party. Meanwhile, to raise morale, an army officer in uniform encourages the workers at the expressway construction site. At the same time, due to a series of accidents at Dangjae Tunnel, the road work makes little progress. When the workers refuse to work in such a dangerous situation, Tae-san asks Dae-chul for help.
ep. 67
The construction of the Seoul-Busan Expressway comes to a close, but the work at Dangjae Tunnel isn’t progressing. Dae-chul realizes that it’s impossible to meet the deadline by using the usual tunnel construction method. He decides to use cement that is more expensive, but sets faster. Kuk Dae-ho is diagnosed with lung cancer. He calls his sons Chul-min and Chul-seung. Chul-seung comes back to Korea and asks for his father’s forgiveness. However, Chul-min tells his father that he’ll stay an outcast. While Tae-san is watching the first car manufactured by Se-ki successfully finishing its test drive, he learns that the problems at Dangjae Tunnel have come to an end.
ep. 68
The opening ceremony of the Seoul-Busan Expressway takes place. Se-ki Construction suggests to the Ministry of Construction that So-yang Dam be an earthfill dam instead of a concrete dam designed by a Japanese company. However, Se-ki has a hard time persuading the Ministry. To make things worse, when the automobiles keep returning to the factory due to technical defects, Se-ki starts looking for a way of getting out of the joint venture. Se-ki apartments are selling like hotcakes. A mysterious phone call comes and threatens to reveal Se-ki’s giving preference to some people. To avoid a conflict in Dae-han Trading after he dies, Kuk Dae-ho plans to put Chul-min into a mental institute. Soon Chul-min is kidnapped by Kuk Dae-ho’s men.
ep. 69
While being taken by force, Chul-min distracts Dae-ho’s secretary Han and stops at a rest stop on the highway. He runs into a police car and asks for help. He talks to his friend who is the chief police officer in Busan. He finds out that he’s been classified as a dangerous mental patient. Scandals about Se-ki apartments make the front page news. President Park learns that many highly ranked government officials are involved. He orders the Central Information Agency to conduct a through investigation of the case. Revenue officials audit Se-ki Development and have Chon Yi-kuk arrested. Se-ki Motors opens car service centers and also improves the car-manufacturing process as an attempt to solve the problems. While trying to find a new partner for the joint venture, Tae-chang turns his eyes to England looking for new engineers and designs. On their way to meet the Minister of Construction, Tae-san and Dae-ho witness a young man who sets fire to himself asking for the observance of the Labor Standard Act.
ep. 70
The Minister of Construction tells Tae-san to return his construction license. However, Dae-chul blames the Ministry of Construction for not having any relevant laws or regulations. President Park is given a report saying that Se-ki has done nothing contrary to the law. He lets the judicature decide. President Park is convinced that So-yang Dam should be an earth fill dam as Se-ki Construction suggested. Chon Tae-san hears that all the problems are solved. He makes Dae-chul the president of Se-ji Construction and makes up his mind that he’ll enter politics some day. Meanwhile, Chul-seung tells Chul-min that Dae-ho is dying of cancer. Chul-min understands everything and attends the inaugural ceremony of Dae-han Trading. President Park calls Chon Tae-san and tells him that it’s necessary to build a shipbuilding yard to become a powerful industrial country. However, Tae-san is shocked and opposes his idea.
