Ryosuke (Hidekazu Mashima) is a video artist. He visits the suburb of Furano in Hokkaido, where his friend lives. He is there to shoot a video. His car breaks down and Ryosuke decides to walk to a house and ask for a phone. The person that opens the door is his former girlfriend and first love Haruka (Masumi Sanada). They meet for the first time in 23 years. Even though Ryosuke knows that she isn married, he takes her to his svideo hooting. They get close.

Ryosuke leaves Hokkaido in 2 days and he asks Haruka to spend one more day with him.

Notes

First feature length film directed by South Korean drama series director Yoon Seok-Ho. One of his most famous drama works is 2002 KBS2 drama series "Winter Sonata." Lee Ji-Soo, the composer for "Winter Sonata," also composed music for movie "The Wind in Your Heart."

Jillibean May 03 2025 6:12 am This movie is hard to find. It isn't available streaming anywhere but on one boot leg site. Yes it did have English subtitles. The film is beautifully shot with gorgeous cinematography and music. The action, such as it is, is secondary to the beauty of the settings, gorgeous lakes and skies and rolling farmland. I think it is Korean director Yoon's love letter to Japan. I am not a fan of adultery stories, and I wish Director Yoon had made the female lead either single or a widow. Husband is away on a business trip and her character meets up with her first love whom she hasn't seen in twenty-plus years. They explore their feelings for one another while they travel the countryside and he, the first love, takes videos and stills of Japan's beauty. This was Director Yoon's last work before his retirement. He used his own film called Yoon Color to photograph Japan's countryside beauties. It's fabulous. I just wish I had more sympathy for the couple in the film. If it hadn't been an adultery situation I would have loved it far more.
