Park Min Mar 26 2023 9:23 am I've seen a handful of 90s drama and this one has definitely a unique style. More like a dreamy and melodic feel, from the color grading to the rocking motion of the camera to the jazzy edits and adequate dialogue. All three main leads were wonderfully written. They're independent with their own problems, they have their own world outside their interactions. This is a textbook on how to make main leads. Also, great OST.

Choi Jin Sil - Lian Yi Ahn Jae Wook - Jiang Min Cha In Pyo - Jun Li

This drama is short, simple and sweet. There are 3 main characters and only one romantic relationship in question.

Lian Yi, the main female, was brought up in an orphanage and is later adopted. Her ambition was to be a teacher but she got sidetracked into a career of fashion design. Jun Li and Jiang Min are both from extraordinarily rich families who meet Lian Yi through her adopted family. Jun Li is the CEO of a fashion house (I think House of Dior) but in Korea and creates the designer that Lian Yi becomes. He is drawn to Lian Yi because she resembles his ex-girlfriend Sophia.

Jiang Min is the son of a rich man; he wants to be a successful singer on his own merits but his father views singing as little more than a current obsession and not a stable life-long career. Despite having 2 heroes, the two do not get embroiled in a fight over Lian Yi. Jiang Min and Jun Li are friends, and Jun Li actually helps Jiang Min and Lian Yi get together.

This is a modern Cinderella story of sorts; however, this Cinderella is strong and likable. Instead, she takes fate into her own hands. An example is when her adopted brother tries to molest her, instead of telling someone about it and whining, she moves out of the lush house she is living in. Of course, Jun Li and Jiang Min come to her rescue, but their roles are less prevalent at this point.

The conflicts in this series are believable, like Lian Yi's clash with her adopted mother and Jiang Min's father not approving of his son's relationship with her, a girl with no family or money to her name.

CAST: I thought this serial was very well-cast and everyone played their roles rather well. I didn't like The "villains" of the drama were not at all likeable. There was not a whole lot of drama; I personally believe that having a longer drama, the individual characters could have been developed more!

STORY: I liked the story, but would have preferred more melodrama so this series was slightly lacking in this aspect for me. The telling of the story was somewhat too narrow, though this allowed it enabled it to be shorter.

Developing more of the support characters would have made his drama better, in my opinion. However, for all the work of making us like Jun Li, it didn't have a more definite and happy ending. While everything worked out for the 3 in the end, Jun Li should have got the girl in the end as well.

OVERALL: Its a very cute story, short and sweet. I will give it '4' of 5 possible. However it is still good and I do may find myself watching this one again, there's nothing especially innovative or different here. It's simply an overdone cliché done exceptionally well
