Notes
- Based on the novel "Cloud Atlas" by British author David Mitchell (first published in 2004).
- "Cloud Atlas" consists of six connected stories relating to themes of birth, death and rebirth. The stories range from the 19th century setting to a post-apocalyptic future.
- Korean actress Bae Doo-Na plays genetically engineered Sonmi~451. Her character is the main character for episodes 5-6. Human clones in the story are controlled by drugs so they are unaware of their existence, but Son-Mi 451 is the sole human clone aware of her existence and questions the exploitation of clones by humans.
- Filming begins September, 2011 in Berlin, Germany.
- Fiming finished December 22, 2011 and took appropriately 18 weeks. Two teams were formed with the Wachowski brothers and Tom Tykwer directing in parallel.
