Misora Shimizu (Minami Hamabe) has failed repeatedly to find a job. By a strange coincidence, she meets funeral planner Reiji Urushibara (Ren Meguro), who works for funeral company Bando Kaikan. This leads her to begin working as an intern at Bando Kaikan. She is mentored by Reiji Urushibara, but he is strict with her training and this causes Misora Shimizu to feel discouraged. Soon, Misora Shimizu's discouragement turns into admiration for Reiji Urushibara. His manners and sympathetic actions towards the deceased and the bereaved family impresses her. Misora Shimizu decides to become a funeral planner.
