Oh Woo-Ri (Lim Soo-Hyang) works as an assistant writer on a popular drama series. Even though she is dating Detective Lee Gang-Jae (Shin Dong-Wook), she wants to keep her virginity until she marries. Her boyfriend accepts her wish. One day, Oh Woo-Ri goes to an OB-GYN for a regular checkup. Due to her doctor's mistake, Oh Woo-Ri gets pregnant through artificial insemination. The biological father of Oh Woo-Ri’s baby is Raphael (Sung Hoon). He is the CEO of a cosmetics company. He gives off the impression that he is cold, but, in his mind, he is a romanticist and wants to meet a person he loves. His reality is different. He is married to Lee Ma-Ri (Hong Ji-Yoon). She intentionally approached him and married him. Love is nothing in her life.

Michael Mar 28 2026 7:03 pm I've been on a Im Soo-Hyang drama binge after first seeing her in ID: Gangnam Beauty about a month ago, then Kokdu: Season of Deity, and now Woori the Virgin. This drama seemed to be all over the place, but I was so relieved and satisfied with the ending. Coming to the comments now, it seems like I'm part of the minority.

Park Min Apr 17 2024 9:09 am Not even Noah's ark can carry these sexless virgins. The general impression is justified, however, its perceived problem is far from being the only problem. The drama is a good case study to be examined for newcomers in the industry, especially screenwriters. These 14 episodes were absolutely marvelous in stacking up a web of irrecoverable problems. I'm not sure if it takes a talent to achieve that or the lack of it. I didn't major in theater, literature, or creative writing, but I can certainly conclude that Jang Ah Mi, the writer of this abomination, is an inept writer. She had no idea what she wanted to do or accomplish. She even had a reference from the source material to help. Writers like her make me reluctant to get into shows with a screenwriting debut credit.

In Asia, there are few cases where both mother & daughter got pregnant at the (almost) same time. In fact, my youngest aunt (mom's sister) is 2 years younger than me. Which mean my grandma gave birth to my aunt 2 years after I was born. Based on my calculation, my grandma was in her 40's when she gave birth to my aunt.

I assume Woori's mother (in this drama) is around 45-46. It's hard to get pregnant at that age but it is not that uncommon. My co-worker got pregnant with first child at the age of 46. Choi Jiwoo (Korean actress) also gave birth at the age of 45. Most women only menopause after 50, so there is always a chance to get pregnant at 40's.

Bonus: Erramatti Mangamma gave birth at the age of 73, but this one is through IVF.

Kristine Aug 05 2022 6:09 am Glad for the flash forward scenes cause you know rich people in Korea can be scary and seeing the baby in the future with her, a relief. I was seriously worried for her. Spoiler. I am surprised she got the guy, that particular actor doesn’t seem to get the girl in prior dramas. Love Jin Joo and Pro Golfer together/not together again in a series. Five Children is my favorite. Korea needs more of these series showing a never married couple raising a child together while being able to move on with other partners. The ending seemed great for the baby. She had plenty of family. The child’s parents both got to raise her without having to marry. Hope Raphael also finds a good partner.

I only watched 1 episode so far, but it does makes me worried.I saw this is listed as "jane the virgin" remake, not "juana la virgen" remake here, not to mention many people refers US version as original. And making it US version remake is fine, but it may be it's biggest flaw. I watched 3 version so far (Original, polish and USA one) they were all distincct from each other and fun and fresh to watch, and this looks like rushed carbon copy of "Jane" with little to no originality in it. Characters like Petra's mom, Jane's dad or Michael are in USA version only, props for changing the wife's story a bit, so she want to be impregnated to avoid divorce, but it just make it more complicated without adding much. I hope it will get better, but main lead is a bit stiff, and I'm confused as to why everybody have diffrent names, but they stick with "Rafael".

And woori herself was portrayed poorly too in dat sense cos if u look at it she broke up with Raphael because he proposed to her cos of the baby then in dat sense she also only dated him because of the baby cos if he truly meant nothing to her she wouldn't have kissed him or began dating him and she'd have kept a distance cos of the feelings she still had for the ex and wouldn't move on, which means her feelings for him weren't true to begin with and the drama made it seem like it did which is why i have a problem with it to begin with. All in all its a bad drama cos i nearly developed high blood pressure due to the rage i felt, avoid at all costs not worth your time, emotions or health!!!

So I'm at episode 10 when I felt like the wind is changing direction (by the way I haven't watched the original version so I'm not sure if the writers changed something), although episode 10 ended with Woori and Rafael dating, it looked like they are making him to be a bad person now - not sure if that's true but that's what I'm feeling... Then I hate that instead of letting Kang Jae move on, they still keep dragging him to the relationship - I hoped they just paired him up with the girl detective as they seem to look good together... Well continuing, since I'm feeling something's off, I decided to read some spoilers of who will Woori end up with, and to my disappointment he ended up with Kang Jae!!! I hate it, that's why I hate watching love triangles cause writes seem to think it's good to make people think who will the lead end up with while in the process makes the story bland and lose the plot! So I don't even feel Woori as pregnant and she's so selfish and so undecided! If they wanted the female lead end up with the 2nd male lead, then they should have made him the 1st male lead then! This is so so so frustrating!!! I hated this series so much wasted more than 10hrs watching the 1st 10 eps!!!

The only thing I like here is Rafael / Sung Hoon

They took the drama all over the place, forced screen play, flat writing, shallow characters. May be would have been better if it were 16 eps to build relations and not just focusing on always doing inki pinki ponki ??‍♀️

GI anna Jun 22 2022 8:38 am i understand that she has a deeper connection with kangjae, still imagine the trauma of the child when she learns how she was conceived. it’d burden the child that because of her, her mother’s relationship almost got ruined. maybe woori chose herself this time but the child’s life became complicated. if they choose to hide the truth, it’ll appear as woori had an affair with rafael. so they’ll have to reveal it and it’ll emotionally harm the child in any case. but if she chose rafael, they don’t have to reveal it thus saving the child from the probable emotional damage. they should have made the kangjae-woori relationship stronger so that the child wouldn’t appear as an obstacle like it did. should’ve made kangjae as someone who makes firm good decisions right from the start. the ending became ironic because the show highlights how the parents care and protect their children. i thought woori is a mother before a woman but she isn’t.

I freaking enjoy the story! So happy with the ending. Plot are so fun and enjoyable and unexpected. But i do had to agree that they seems a bit rushed and woori is a bit indecisive but let's just think of her shoes, maybe that's the best for her.

And i know Woori loves Raphael romantically. She loves Kangjae out of respect. We know Kangjae is almost a perfect guy, even if u don't romantically inlove with him, you will choose him as your partner for a lifetime because he's a perfect man, a perfect husband material.

In my opinion, dumping Kangjae for the sake of the baby and her true feelings is not bad at all. Raphael loves Woori, Raphael is the father of the baby. They're perfect together.

Kangjae will find his soulmate too.

Recently there has been a very strong second lead fever watchers always ended up preferring the SL over the FL the director must be very well aware of it and he still made KJ overshadow Raphael and now many hates Woori for dumping KJ.

Woori has a memory of Raphael's first kiss, who doesn't even remember her, a potential husband in Raphael who is, by the way, married to a crazy for money wife, with the current lurking and evil murdering mother-in-law. I guess if she chooses Raphael there will be a huge miracle and all will change to wine and roses. Gang Jae doesn't have the fancy car, all the money, the evil family but just loves her and all that comes with her. Boy hard decision here...lol. Seriously! After 7, I'm out.

RAnthony May 30 2022 6:16 pm I never saw the previous versions but were the relationships as shallow as they are in this Korean drama? Was the FL's actions this wooden? I assume this drama is supposed to be a reflection of current culture where a long time commitment can be dumped out of "consideration" for the male partner no matter how much he has stayed true to his feelings and how much this is hurting him. Maybe he is too much of a beta nice guy and can't win in the face of the alpha chad.

My daughter-in-law's comment is that she would have felt assaulted by the unwanted pregnancy and by the attitude of the rich dude and his father. She thinks the FL is full of self-justification and now has an opportunity to get the man of her first kiss/love while forgetting the interim comfort male she kept to pass the time.

Oh well! We and the family are both done with this drama after seven episodes. Others who have asked for recommendations to start watching Kdramas (I have been viewing and been a fan since 2004) will get a list from me. This one will not be on it.

Berlinda May 29 2022 6:26 pm I'm so sad that Kang Jae will loose , he called for his loss... he's too shy when with woori but woori likes him to pour out his affection and all that as a couple but Kang Jae lacks that; I don't know what but I guess that's what his role is... he's so unromantic and seems unsure about woori.truth is, he'll definitely die due to Raphael's wife..he should have been open with woori with the secret of Raphael's wife that he was keeping tho...I feel sad for him but I guess they're just playing their roles as it should... but Kang Jae has a very sad look that makes me tear up whenever he's sad.

It will be so sad if she ends up with Raphael but I'm sure that's gonna happen since he's the baby father and in the real series they adapted this from the female lead ended up with Raphael. I just wished they can change things here and make her end up with Kang jae pls. He loves her so much and even willing to accept the baby as his own

hann May 25 2022 11:22 am im loving this drama so far, it has its own funny and dark side lol the only thing that i want to point out is im soo hyang's acting. i really loved her in the graceful family but i just dont feel like she suits woori's character. her acting looks kinda forced and i dont get why she always use aegyo-like voice ? i thought im used to it cuz i reached ep 6 already but i just cant stand it srry. will keep on watching it tho cuz i want to see woori x raphael endgame

Jane the Virgin May 21 2022 5:20 pm It's interesting watching this after being a big Jane the Virgin fan. They are really trying to cram the story in a short period of time. It lacks the chemistry of Jane the Virgin. Woori (Jane) isn't as strong of a character of what she's based off of, and Raphael it seems like they just took the asshole part and ran with it.

I seriously recommend everyone watch Jane the Virgin. It's not as short as a Kdrama, but it had me laughing, crying, believing in love again, and feeling heart break. Also Ma-Ri aka Petra is a better fleshed out character and you root for her happiness at the end. I don't feel like they will go the same route.

Virgin May 19 2022 11:38 pm The plot is very interesting and has many potentials, but I feel something is lacking in the execution. The comedic scenes are funny but do not feel very natural.

Moreover, I don't know which one is weirder, the make up or the color schemes or the camera quality. Shin Dong Wook looked very handsome in "Now, We Are Breaking Up" but he just looks ordinary in this drama. Sunghoon is super fine but why does he look a bit gothic here? Hong Ji Yoon is also pretty but she looks old here. They are all fine in other dramas but idk why in this drama their appearance do not shine as much.

Many of the scenes look dark and uncomfortable. The only bright ones are the ones with Lim Soo-Hyang in there. Idk if the director did it on purpose but it does not look good to me.

I still plan to keep watching mainly because of the main plot (and because I like Sunghoon). I think the actors did well for their roles, but other factors like make up/lighting/etc seems a bit off. Now it is still episode 4. I hope next episodes will get better.

great first 3 episodes. i loved the little mention of the Jane the virgin characters in episode 4. im happy they got straight to revealing what happened to Woori’s dad in the first few eps too. (can’t remember how it was like in jane’s vers.) The ending of ep 4 was interesting ?

it’s annoying that i can’t help but compare but i’m loving woori’s vers right now. I can’t lie the world is very crazy and hectic, so having a show as outlandish as this is somewhat…comforting.

I think the idea is nice, however, a huge part of the original show is built and based on the Latin community and culture, I wonder how and if they are going to represent that. The original series also has about 100 episodes, I wonder how much this drama is going to include. I’m looking forward to see how it’s going to turn out.
