Kim Woo-Joo (Choi Woo-Sik) is the only son of a family that runs bakery Myungsoondang and he works there as a marketing team leader. The bakery has an 80 year history. Personality wise, he is a bit narcissistic and rational person. He gets involved with subcontractor designer Yoo Me-Ri (Jung So-Min) for work. One day, she suddenly asks Kim Woo-Joo to marry her. Meanwhile, Yoo Me-Ri is going through some trials in her life, including a broken engagement due to her ex-boyfriend's infidelity and a fraud lease on a newlywed home. Around this time, she received good news that she won a special prize for newlyweds which is a top-class townhouse. Her problem is that she has already broken off her engagement. She suddenly proposes to Kim Woo-Joo, who has the same name as her ex-fiance. This is how they begin their fake newlywed life for 90 days.

Un modeste admirateur Dec 05 2025 4:13 pm After watching all of the episodes of "Would You Marry Me", I'm somewhat conflicted. The actors and producting crew absolutely killed it, and overall, it was one of the most entertaining dramas of 2025. But script-wise, the screenwriter really dropped the ball in the middle of the drama with the "ex". After cheating on her and ending with her, we see the "ex", in episode 6, still claiming she is "his", stalking her, violently getting jealous, pushing her over, using force to enter inside the house of her new boyfriend, shouting "Go on, because I'm about to lose it" when she mentions police. This is inadmissible behaviour that only a stalker or a psycho would have. Yet, the screenwriter kept considering it as comic relief, and even made her babysit the "ex" for the next few episodes. Madness! If you're going to portrait abuse against women, please make sure to condemn it properly, and not treat it as comedy.

Would You Marry Me starring Choi Woo-shik & Jung So-min is the kind of light romcom that feels like a warm hug after a long day. It gives you that soft, fluttery butterfly-in-your-stomach feeling. very classic 2000s K-drama vibes, but with a fresh, modern charm.

Their chemistry is so natural, so sweet, and so comforting that you’ll catch yourself smiling for no reason. It’s simple, lovely, and exactly the kind of drama you watch when you want to feel happy again. I give 100000/10 rating for their chemistry and romance

Highly recommended for anyone who loves romance, soft humour, and that gentle, heart-warming storytelling !!

I don't think we were meant to take it too seriously. Not sure why they had a killer subplot, that gets tiresome when they add it to what should be a romantic comedy most of all.

The chemistry of the two leads was excellent and carried the show very well. I agree that if this had aired on Netflix it would be a number one watched Korean drama.

Oh yeah, even with minimal promotion, this drama is still popular. Imagine if it had a full promotion, it would be even more booming, especially if it aired on Netflix too. Maybe there would be a second explosion in popularity, haha. I'll be waiting for their next project. JSM and CWS are the best pair this year, no debate.

I have to stop watching from ep 7 because it's so terrible, but still for CWS I continue to watch but still being disappointed because it's very lengthy, and annoying backstory with the ex. Come on, it's 2025. Nobody is gonna watch the kind of stupid main girl still let the ex ruin her life. Jung So Min's acting is so bad also can't be compared with previous actress with Woo Shik (Bo Young, Dami, v.v). All she do is staring at others. I feel so bad to spend time watching this shi

I like that at least one of them is aware of their past connection and how the ML is trying to help the FL. The ex- I hate him so much! But that just goes to show that the actor playing him is doing a great job! This is my secon most hated character after Would you marry my husband guy.

It follows one of those classic K-drama formulas — and honestly, that’s why they keep using it. I kept watching mainly because I really love the female and male leads; I can’t help but smile every time they’re on screen, there’s definitely chemistry in there. But, I absolutely hate the ex!

Honestly, if they replaced the leads, I probably wouldn’t have watched it. But if you plan to watch it, just enjoy it for what it is!

Asides, the ex and his annoying family, the CFO is a bastard.. it has been a while since a new face (to me) plays a antagonist role and nail it to the extent of me hating the actor... Bloody mf, the CFO man !

He’s so unnecessary and honestly just makes the story worse. I really hope the next episodes focus more on the main couple and not let annoying characters get in the way of the kilig moments.

Honestly, I would have preferred if they just cast a different actor—someone we actually enjoy watching. I thought he was only in episode 2, but he’s been in the story all the way from episode 1 to 9! And technically, they’re not even divorced because the decree never went through, but he just keeps bothering me. They could have picked a popular actor instead, because this rookie is really bad at acting. There’s no kilig factor at all, no matter what they do. Can the writer even fix this? That character is ruining the story. And honestly… his face is just annoying.

Not feeling the chemistry at all,many things don't even make sense like how she literally gives her ex's ID after winning the house where you clearly see his face but then says no one knows how he looks like and no one noticed it's a completely different person later? Even the super observant manager from the other company who lives nearby?

The script is bad at times but I'm only finishing this because I'm already on episode 9. I don't think it deserves all the amazing feedback because it's mediocre at best. Personally I couldn't finish any of the dramas I've watched with the FL, I dropped Love next door after they confessed their feelings because the ML was annoying me, Because this is my first life which gets crazy good feedback I also had to drop mostly because I couldn't see the main couple actually liking each other,mainly because of the ML who was super robotic.

Anyways I feel like it's getting so much positive attention just because of the star power of the 2 main leads but it's just your basic fake marriage drama that doesn't really bring anything new to the table,not in terms of comedy or heart.

There are good dramas with low ratings. This drama storyline/plot is so cringeworthy, considering it features top-tier actors. The common superficial tropes in this drama really had you rolling your eyes. The cinematography also seems to be of low quality. Episode 6, in particular, gave off a negative impression and message.

This is kind of drama that the budget is high in order to cast A-list actors and actresses, but the plot is a major flop. Episode 6 was the worst with all that scenes with the ex fiance.

Like, why can't they cast another incel looking guy, why does it have to be him? His acting is so so anyway. On top of that it looks like they gonna drag this ex story until the end, and having to see his face all the way til the end is s*ck. Yes, i know i don't have to watch this because no one force me, i'm no one etc but i'm such a fan of both the leads and they did a really good job to build the chemistry so far, so i also don't want to skip this drama. Ddu Oct 25 2025 11:18 am I like that this drama is just usual romcom. Not too heavy, everything is clear as a day (so far) But the drama is super duper outdated. Like... Early 2000 outdated.

Idk if it's the script or director, Cinderella story, FL being such a loser with kind heart, the guy is 3rd gen chaebol... The snowballing lies, the stupid coincidence, discussing something that supposed to be a secret in open space and shouting. Again, stupid coincidence. Like.. that formula worked 20 years ago.

What I hate the most? How Meri's character perceived as a loser. She's actually a girl boss. Having her own company , getting clients, win compétition, she can stand up for herself, but reduced to a mess just for the ML.

Instead of her ex, I despise Meri's mom more for being such a stupid pushover, keep blaming her daughter when the in laws told her that the wedding is canceled. I seriously hate her for that. I mean, it's 2025! She doesn't deserve Woojoo to be her SIL. She doesn't even deserve to be Meri's mom.

But I'll still watch the drama. I just need to let out my frustrations how they wrote Meri's character and circumstances.

Its not so comedy like others drama but i lovee itt, lightt romance but sweet. Light comedy and soothing to watch. And i really love both leads. Male lead i know from rooftop prince until now had become one of my fav actor, and female lead from playful kiss until now look much more younger . Ahhhhh they really has the chemisty, anyone who love light romcom with soothing romance, cute leads pleasee watch thisss

Josh Oct 19 2025 11:41 am This drama is divaaaa! I love how every single episode makes me crave for more! This is the romcom that never disappoints you every episode! All scenes are essential and you cannot skip any of it. The author of this drama is so good! She deserves a big recognition and also it wouldn't be so captivating without the director who made every scene consistent in storytelling. The comedy side of this drama isn't exaggerating, it's actually funny and the romantic side is very interesting! The chemistry between Wooshik and Soomin is there, and also i love that their characters aren't clingy to each other, which gives the story spice and angst. After Bon Appetit Your Majesty, this drama is the second top tier romcom of the year!

I cried and laughed with Somin, she really act so well, and Wooshik too. Their facial expressions never fail to make me laugh... I hope they will get the best couple award in SBS Drama Award at the end of the year. Their chemistry is so good. Ps. The villains are cute and funny too that i could get myself to hate them for now.
