I don’t understand an industry and public that are so unforgiving of mistakes and trouble. They just abandon people rather than show compassion and support. What are these perfect lives Koreans are supposed to uphold? Why is it not okay to be a human being with struggles and problems? Is this why they create so many romantic k dramas filled with characters who have unrealistic expectations of true love? They shun people who mess up, yet believe needing psychological help is some shameful weakness. Expect perfection and completely demolish those with addiction issues, then act like drinking until they black out w work mates is normal and healthy and cute. They treat every illness like it’s the plague and torment people from poor backgrounds, the disabled, and won’t let their kids marry a person with a chronic medical condition. I live k dramas, but over time I see certain elements of Korean culture that are a real turnoff. This poor kid. It makes me sad to see so little compassion and/or forgiveness in a culture. They drive people to suicide and I hope this doesn’t happen to this kid. Whatever he did or didn’t do, he deserves compassion. People don’t learn from being perfect- that just drives people insane. People gain strength and self esteem and wisdom from making mistakes and learning from it. From coming out the other side Sorry. This story just breaks my heart.
